"Actually, the answer to the question in the title of this review is that we didn't have more time to spend on holiday. Our greatest mistake was not having two nights at this lovely hotel. Imam at reception was kind and welcoming. He made us feel right at home. The room was gorgeous and the courtyards of the hotel are lovely. The hotel is so quiet - it was the best night sleep we had the whole holiday! The breakfast was off a menu and the choices were both Chinese and Western. And both of our choices were delicious. We also decided to eat dinner at the hotel. It was ""upscale"" pricewise, but the food was excellent and well presented. We also were able to try some of the local dishes which we would have missed out on if we were just wandering the streets. We would recommend this hotel to anyone - and we hope that one day we will find ourselves back in the Jing Residence.... "Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Another world"
Incredible concept to support the local economy. Wonderful and gracious service in one of the best settings on the lake. Food was plentiful and tasty. I really enjoyed the tour in central Borneo with Gayle of WOW Borneo. We traveled by boat on a large river and toured lakes off the river by canoe. We saw orangutans and monkeys butterflies and unique plants. We traveled to remote lakes tea stained from the ancient forest in the late afternoon the reflections were breathtaking. The food was delicious and accommodation very adequate and clean for being in such a remote place. We toured villages that did not have tourists visit on a regular basis and were welcomed with the biggest smiles. The tour was 5 days and we covered a lot of ground a great experience for the adventure seeker attempting to be Behr Grils.RACHAMANKHA: "A peaceful haven"
My husband and my self visited Chiangmai in 1997 and stayed at the Rachamankha. The feeling of being transported to another world is really true. This hotel is in the midst of the city but the exquisite lay out of the interior and exterior is pretty hard to beat. We spend our winters in Chiangmai since then and visit Rachamankha every week to simply enjoy the tranquility of this wonderful hotel. The staff is very attentive and very well trained. They almost guess and jump to your needs before you can voice them. The kitchen is a very good a mix of Thai and European cuisine. Good wines. We really consider ourselves fortunate to have discovered this gem. I was impressed by the owners astute insight into the the Thai culture which he has presented in his unique style. "I and my partner spent five days at Khwan Beach Resort and our experience was nothing but fantastic. This is a small resort run by competent, kind and diligent people (Gaelle, Nittaya, Sai and Margot) who will make everything to fulfil yur wishes. Located literally at a two minute walk away from Mae Nam beach, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed holidays, surrounded by nature, nice villas each with its own private swimming pool, and (walking distance) close to restaurants, convenient stores, fresh fruit markets, etc. I will definitely return to this place. Mind you however that the resort has just initiated construction works for a restaurant which may cause some inconvenience during the day. "A very lovely boutique hotel, very authentic and luxurious, elaborately decorated property with lots of Balinese details in every corner. Excellent food, a very enchanting garden, attentive and caring staff who respect guests privacy. Service is impeccable and closest to perfect you will find.
