Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Amazing food, peerless produce, great service"

"The food was amazing - I work in a Michelin star kitchen and it baffles me how CWD has yet to get at least one Michelin star. We chose Tasting Menu 2: Amuse Bouche Duck Confit with Crispy Rice Steamed Mekong Langoustine Tonle Sap Croaker Fish Angkor Stout Pulled Pork Green & Ripe Mango Tart Fresh Seasonal Fruit Platter We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the eating the last bites of the each dish made me so sad, knowing that the experience would soon be over. For 31usd per pax, excluding drinks - I thought we got more than a fair deal for the amount and the quality of the food. Chef Joannès Rivière was also kind enough to oblige us when we requested to take a photo with him at the end of the meal, which truly was the cherry on the cake. Merci Chef! & thank you Carole, for helping out with the birthday surprise! If we ever make the visit to Siem Reap again, it'd definitely be just for Cuisine Wat Damnak. "

Rachamankha: "Sublime sanctuary in the old city"

"Our stay at Rachamankha was everything we'd hoped. As you approach it through the narrow lanes and busy traffic it's hard to believe that such a tranquil spot can exist in the middle of the old city. From the moment you drive in, it's like coming home. No big swanky reception and lobby area, just a discreet desk and a warm welcome when you check in. The whole complex takes some exploring - I'd recommend asking them to show you all the facilities when you arrive (we were still finding our way around by the end of our stay). Rooms are lovely and private - the bathrooms are probably not up to such a high standard (shower is quite small by comparison) but not a deal breaker. The pool area, restaurant and bar are pretty close to perfect. Breakfast has so many choices it's a bit bamboozling some days. We could have quite easily stayed within Ranchmankha and not explored Chiang Mai at all - just lazing around the pool was idyllic. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay - you won't regret it!"

Cuca: "You MUST eat here!"

The foodie experience at this restaurant was the best I've ever had. The Bali Breakfast is the dish you must experience - I say experience because that's exactly what it is; a visual and taste sensation.

The Island Lodge: "A dream spot in the Mekong Delta"

"Are you looking for a 6 star hotel in the Mekong Delta? You just found it! Nothing needs improvement. From the first minute we arrived a the hotel till the very last moment all was a dream of a hotel. Service excellent, rooms amassing, restaurant outstanding.... Nothing else to say. A must see and enjoy hotel!!!!"

Maison Polanka: "A paradize"

Just a word: perfect! An outstanding service, a beautiful place, an excellent food, what else? All is done so that every thing becomes easy (use the hotel's tuc tuc!). Massage is a must do.A place very hard to leave.

Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "First Class Hotel in BKK"

We stayed at the Cabochon for a total of 7 nights and our stay was fantastic. The rooms were very spacious, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel, especially as it's well connected to the BTS line and you can get anywhere very quickly.

Rachamankha: "Serene Refined Hotel"

"Ratchamankha, Chiang Mai, Thailand The photos posted by other travelers hardly do justice to this exquisite jewel box of a hotel. Our family of four was lucky enough to stay in one of the newly opened two-bedroom suites. A long, covered balcony, complete with a silk-cushioned bench, runs the length of the suite, providing a view to the serene courtyard and pool below. A spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated living room divides the two bedrooms. Breakfast is served around the corner in a separate courtyard. Heaven! In the evening, a fire is lit and on special nights a local musician plays traditional melodies. Asian antiques and art are displayed throughout the property. An army of workers tend the garden and the buildings, keeping everything in immaculate shape. Additionally, the owner employs many Burmese refugees, trains them, houses them, and pays them well. You can feel wonderful about supporting such a hotel. What a find!!!! "

The Village House: "Awesome hidden getaway"

"Stepping onto the compound (after trying to find the place), you just know privacy is what you'll be getting. Quickly greeted by the person manning the front counter, you know you're in good hands. At least I did. I arrived later than my partner did but the fact that this frontdesk person knew who I was showed a level of care in who the guests are. It's amazing despite having strict rules, it's really for the best benefit for everyone including ourselves. The place is fancy in its simplicity and rest assured the absence of cell service isn't a disservice but exactly what every person that comes down here needs! It is a getaway... And a great one. We didn't plan for this trip and just settled for beds in the dorm. Honestly I've stayed at backpackers and when you think dorm some or many might cringe.. But if more dorms were like these, I'm definitely going to stay in dorms more! The facilities are amazing. I mean, yes 6 beds (3 bunk beds) in the room but it's there for sleep which is fine and the bathroom attached to it is the best with running hot water so it's definitely all good! The absence of a TV is expected of a dorm room but seriously there wasn't a need for a TV (that's what the TV room is for at the main building... And there are books too!!) Now this place isn't for kids and it's good they made it strict with no kids under the age of 12 (or so I'm told) and that makes sense because the whole point of the trip is to relax and chill and laze and be free from the hustle and bustle of life. And that's what you'd do. I spent most of my time on the lawn chair just looking at the pool. Occasionally going in the pool being a hippo or whatever water mammal that just lazes in the water. Besides just looking at the pool you'd definitely pick up any reading material (I opted for comics) and just remain on your back. Relaxed. Did I mention you'll just be relaxing and not be doing nothing much? Coz it's just that freaking good. Service was actually the best as the people there would check to see if you need anything. The kitchen closes early at 8 pm so by 5 pm the dinner order has to be made which is cool because they do tell you that so no point to whine about it. Food was amazing and I was overwhelmed by the portion of pasta I got. I mean I'm a pasta monster and can really down it but this one I wasn't able to finish. It's cool coz it's creamy pasta and no one can really down a whole lot of that when I think about it.. The bar is open till 11pm so that's cool. Reasonably priced food as it shows in the quality and prep. Oh and breakfast was included in the room cost which being complimentary, they offer basic breakfast choices of either English breakfast or pancakes. Cereal is there too and that's all you can eat. I think. All in all, place is sweet and definitely going to be a regular thing. Possibly. Likely . Kudos to the people who made it work so well!! Highly recommended for those needing a break. Villa Mathis: "Honeymoon"

Perfect get away for couples and their honeymoon. Peace and quiet luxury all around. We would go back in a heart beat. The hotel offers free shuttle service to Seminyak center and the beach. Very well organized and lovely staff

The River Resort: "Quite possibly the most beautiful place we’ve stayed"

"This resort is spectacular. I simply cannot fault it. The welcome was very warm and friendly. We were upgraded to a River front room which was glorious! The room is amazing - modern, light, spotlessly clean, indoor outdoor shower, most comfortable bed I've been in! The restaurant food is beautiful. Big serves and quality produce. Their homemade yogurt at breakfast is beautiful. I didn't want to leave. You must stay here! We also got picked up from Pakse, a free massage each, and dropped over to the other side of the river to catch a bus to 4000 islands."
