"Stayed three nights here last week, and had an unforgettable time. I think what sets this apart from some of the top end resorts is the personal touch and the tasteful, considered aesthetic. The cottages and restaurant are set back behind the palm trees so as not to create an imposing man made frontage. The use of natural objects like sea shells, bamboo and palms feels, along with the 'ethnic' decor somehow feels more inspired than the cliched attempts you usually see in these sorts of places. "The location is great, the staff is amazing, the rooms are beautiful and the food delicious. We booked a boat trip with a very good driver that although he didn't speak much English, he tailored our trip to avoid those ""shopping houses"" were you feel obliged to buy something. "We arrived by Les Rives boat tour and stayed for 3 nights. Michel and staff were great at making all our arrangements for transfers and tours. We had wonderful days filled with bike tours, relaxing massages, delicious meals and peacefulness sitting at the pool. The staff are wonderful and helpful. "Worth the extra money! AND We got a free upgrade. Beautiful Resort on the river that is a stark contrast to the busy, bustling, 'aeromatic' Bangkok streets! Right across the street from Wat Pho and a 15 minute walk to the Grand Palace. Perfect stay for our 2 days in Bangkok!!! "We cannot praise this beautiful hotel enough. We were there celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the hotel gave us a lovely bottle of prosecco and flowers. They also upgraded us to a lovely bungalow, which was amazing. The staff were so attentive always opening doors for us, bringing out an umbrella when we get out the taxi in the rain; it made us feel very spoilt. It was a little way from the main area for eating in the evenings, around Pub Street, but a tuk tuk was very cheap at only $3. "We were more than pleasantly surprised by this amazing small luxurious resort in the mountains of North Laos. We felt welcome and special. Top service, very friendly staff and general mananger. Top room with view on the river. The hotel organized for us 2 amazing tours to the mountain tribes. It was a real adventure and we were touch by the people in the small mountian villages. Excellent guides and driver of the 4 x 4. Wonderfull breakfast and really amazing diners ! This is really top food. This resort is in fact too good to share with others. "We finally made it to LeDu and were not disappointed. A modern minimalistic designed restaurant and categorizing its cuisine is a bit difficult. It could be defined as Young Creative Cuisine with Thai Roots blended with international flavors You have a choice of a la carte but we went for the tasting menu of 5 courses and loved it. The service staff is very friendly and explain every dish carefully- which sometimes is not easy describing the complex flavor combinations. Satri House in Luang Prabang is a terrific hotel. Colonial architecture and Indochinese furnishings are lovely, and the placement of Buddhist and Hindu statuary throughout the grounds provides serenity. The rooms are spacious, pool is a lovely area, and the restaurant is especially good. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Top notch!Rachamankha: "Incredible Hotel Stay"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and it was the best place we stayed at while in Thailand. It is centrally located to many city attractions and it is within walking distance to several spas, restaurants, etc. The hotel grounds are meticulously maintained and it has a magical feel to it while you stroll through the various buildings. The breakfast is very nicely done and there is a patio so you can enjoy your meal on the terrace. The rooms have more of antique feel with a modern twist - lots of nice amenities including a canopy bed, Molton Brown products, and good A/C. The only challenge I had during my stay in Chiang Main was that I got a lot of bug bites - please note the hotel also provides free bug spray so don't forget to use this religiously if you are prone to bug bites (I made the mistake of going without it for a couple of days). I would highly recommend this hotel to others who go to Chiang Mai...you won't be disappointed!Locavore: "Amazing"
One of the best, if not the best restaurant in Bali. Unbelievable taste combinations, presentation and service. We ordered the seven course tasting menu but were actually served 19 courses of snacks, palate cleansers and extras. Everything about this restaurant is amazing. We celebrated my birthday and they exceeded all expectations. Bravo Locavore!
