Chakrabongse Villas: "An Oasis Along the Chao Phraya River"

Review by: NapaBarbara | Source: Trip Advisor
This is simply an oasis, tucked behind gates in a garden setting on the property of a member of the extended royal family. We felt that we were treated like royalty ourselves by Atom and Ohm. They were both so kind and helpful. The property has a resplendent landscaping of fountains, a long trellised archway with potted orchids that leads to the restaurant, which was lighted at night, and a nice private swimming pool surrounded by landscaping. We stayed nine nights and enjoyed the Mali room. The room had all the amenities of a fine large resort but with a more charming character. The room was large enough to be comfortable. We like the coffee bar just outside our room and found it nice to come back and have an English cup of tea after our day tours. The bathroom was kept tidy with fresh towels everyday, and supplied with a nice quality of shampoo, conditioner and lotions should need them. The restaurant overlooking the river is simply elegant. The breakfast was very good and the dinners were sublime. They also have a driver that they arranged to pick us up and return us to the airport for a fair price. This was so nice after a 12 hour flight to be met at the airport, by simple instructions, instead of getting a random cab. The hotel helped us confirm the time of our tour pickups each day we were taking a tour by calling the tour operator on our behalf. They would help us to get reservations at other restaurants when their restaurant was not open. We appreciate their kind and caring assistance. We enjoyed our experience so much that when we return to Bangkok we will stay at Chakrabongse, and so should you.

Tugu Bali: "Excellent romantic artistic getaway"

Review by: Coleta A | Source: Trip Advisor
"The history and art of this exclusive hotel is very interesting. The staff can tell you even more about the art. The hotel is beautiful and gives you al the freedom and serenity you need. After a year of hard work, we arrived in Bali and stayed at the Tugu hotel the first couple of days. Our room had a perfect beach view with an incredible sunset. Just WOW. Waking up with the rhythm of the waves in the back ground is so relaxing... From the moment we arrived we found that peace and holiday feeling we have been waiting for for so long. Everybody of the staff is very polite and gives you the feeling that you are special, that you are welcome, that you are their number one priority. They give you the attention you need. Not to little not to much. Excellent job every one. A special thank for you, Arie. You have been so nice and so friendly. You did the extra mile for us. Terima kasih dari Amsterdam. Canggu becomes more and more popular - which is a good thing. And just out of the hotel you'll find some nice bars and cool hangouts (also on the beach). Unfortunately that becomes some kind of a mismatch with the serenity and calmness the Tugu hotel has so well mastered."

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Quiet calm by the Sea"

Review by: Theresa S | Source: Trip Advisor
"What a perfect place to unwind. Located by the beach in beautiful natural gardens. Delicious seafood sitting under palm trees and candlelight. Eagles soar above and herons wade in the nearby lagoon. The spa is professionally run in its on quiet oasis. The rooms in individual bungalows have private bathrooms with partly open skies so we shares ours with a very charming obliging bright green frog who hopped off under the palm tree when we entered! The Lotus Boat which is part of this hotel is situated on the backwaters 10 minutes away. We spent two nights aboard in wonderful luxury (with air conditioning in the bedroom) and a staff of 4 who looked after every request."

Maison Polanka: "Natural luxury"

Review by: Iain M | Source: Trip Advisor
I recently stayed at Maison Polanka, it was such a welcome change and surprise to what I am used to staying; This Resort really is your home away from home; the staff welcome you like family, the intimacy of this place really has such a warm charm that makes you feel immediately at home; The team headed by General Manager Cathy, were exceptional, they were so attentive, friendly and could do enough to make our stay most memorable; I stayed in the Green room, which had an amazing balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and the perfect retreat to relax, read a book with a gin & Tonic. They made all the arrangements for a private guide to Angkor Wat, where we went for the Sunrise, what a Magical experience, followed by a picnic on the river bank; this truly was one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had. If you are looking for a relaxing, cosy place to stay I highly recommend Maison Polanka.

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Second time incredible stay"

Review by: gaos | Source: Trip Advisor
"We visited this lodge for the first time in 2012 and were so blown away by it's most loveliest and most competent staff, stunning location, wonderful food and wide range of acticities. In fact, everything was amazing. So, we decided to return. No doubt at all! And this place managed to blow us away again! Even after all the difficulties they faced since the earthquakes of 2015. We especially loved and still love the day hikes with, our now dear friend, Hari Bhandari. His knowledge of local people and culture, birds, plants, flowers, trees, butterflies etc. is impressive. Combine this with his modest, respectful and calm personality and you'll have the perfect guide. We will be back for sure!! Dear Marcus, Hari and all the staff members: thanks a million for another unforgettable stay!! Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

The Village House: "Garden of eden"

Review by: PerBo2014 | Source: tripadvisor.com
If you wanna enjoy the garden of eden in real life this is the place to visit. Excellent rooms, high quality interiour, excellent food presented to perfection. Nice pool surrended by a beatifull garden, and a lot of swings two make your stay perfect. It is hard to leave this hotel but if you go left you cross a rainforrest and end up at a deserted beach.

The Cabochon Hotel: "What a gem"

Review by: Petertrish2015 | Source: Trip Advisor
Perfect boutique hotel. An oasis in the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Newly built in an old style but you would never guess - very comfortable and well furnished. Good swimming pool on the roof. Very nice staff.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "An outstanding very special place to stay"

Review by: GS64 | Source: Trip Advisor
This is probably one of the very best hotels we have stayed in anywhere. The location is magical (although be prepared for a very rough road to get there for about the last 40 minutes) and the ambience is particularly special. We could not have been better looked after by the staff who were attentive, efficient and friendly. Meals were quite superb, amongst the very best we had in India. William and Faye are excellent hosts and keep a watchful eye to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. I recommend it very highly indeed.

The Cabochon Hotel: "French Indochine Chic"

Review by: Peter T | Source: Trip Advisor
This hotel is set in an elegant period building down a quiet lane. It has a 1920s period styling with a bit of big game hunter and French colonialism thrown in for good measure. It's not an all-out luxury hotel. It's more an experience hotel, and I had a great experience. IT's like going back in time to a by-gone period which a jarring and interesting juxtaposition from the hustle and bustle happening less than 100m on Sukhumvit. Choose this for a unique boutique experience in central Bangkok.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Otherworldly"

Review by: alygibson | Source: Trip Advisor
"This hotel has been covered extensively, and for good reason. We stayed for four nights during our honeymoon, and even though we stayed at truly luxurious hotels, 4 Rivers was a real highlight. You take a boat about 25 minutes to floating wooden platforms with about 15 tents set up. The rooms are well appointed (nothing special), but you're there for the surroundings. Our bodies got accustomed to waking up with the sun and going to sleep when it got dark. We enjoyed taking the sunset cruise at the end of the day, and exploring the mangroves in kayaks. The staff, especially Rambo and Bono, are delightful. It was here that we fell in love with Cambodia. My only complaint is that food was bad (not authentic). Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"
