Hotel Tugu Bali: "Culture and spirit in a Balinese paradise"
I stayed in the Garden suite which has a private pool and open air bathroom, along with a private garden and Koi pond...it was one of the most luxurious and lovely hotel stays of my life! Every detail was carefully crafted for my arrival. It was my birthday the day I arrived, and the staff had prepared a special cake and flower arrangement for me in my room. Not to mention that every night there was a simple yet beautiful Balinese offering of frangipani flowers with woven palm leaves and a poem on my bed. The private pool with swing was so enjoyable after a nice day at the beach, and the bathroom with private spa tub was almost like being in a private spa. The breakfast was delicious, the hotel surroundings itself beautiful and serene. Next door you have the beach and several restaurants and boutiques and massage places, and it is still removed from the craziness of Kuta and Seminyak. Will definitely return!Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Fabulous Stay"
"Visually stunning. Romantic / Family getaway Such an original and beautifully furnished resort clubhouse, set in a parkland of native trees with stunning individual luxury houses. Ours consisted of two traditional stilt houses with interconnecting balconies. Two vast unspoiled beaches. We love the walk along the beach and enjoy beach cleaning - every little bit helps! The resort also has once a week beach cleaning day. We saw plenty of hornbills. Beware of the monkeys. They can be quite entertaining but shut all your doors and windows when you leave the house. Every Saturday, a seafood grill buffet starts off with cocktails on the beach, where you get to meet more of your neighbors which is very nice and the atmosphere is great too. Valeria and her staff pay close attention to detail, which makes for an unforgettable experience. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"The Village House: "wonderful people"
"Most reviews describe the lovely setting and the tranquility of Village House but for me the people there are amazing. Ever friendly and helpful, they helped to make my trip to Sarawak the wonderful experience that it turned into! The food was amazing as well.... try the chefs Sarawak Laksa... You'll not be disappointed!! If you're looking for a base to explore the Santubong/Kuuching area, that is quiet and slightly off the beaten track but accessible to the outside world? Try Village House"Misool Eco Resort: "Spectacular and Amazing vacation"
"Wow, how does one write a review about paradise. This place is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth with diving that surely rivals the best on earth. From A to Z, this place is top notch. We stayed in Water Cottage 1 right by the Dive Shop and loved the proximity to our daily dive ritual. The cottage itself is gorgeous, all made from salvaged local wood. The outdoor bathroom/shower is perfect for the setting, full of eco-friendly bath products. The veranda is amazing with lounge chairs, a bed and a hammock (over the lagoon), offering incredibly views of the lagoon and fish down below, plus stairs down to lagoon for easy access for swimming or snorkeling or just a dip to cool off. The cottage was cleaned and refreshed every morning during our first dive. The bed set up with the AC and mosquito netting is tastefully done and did in fact prevent mosquitos from getting in while keeping us cool and comfortable at night. The food was delicious from morning till night. Fresh bread, tasty homemade granola, egg dishes, smoothies, juices, salads, desserts, fish, chicken, pasta, etc. And I can't forget to mention the fresh baked fantastic cookies served every afternoon. The chef serves a wide variety of great food to keep the guests sustained and ready to spend their days diving or snorkeling. They also serve a wide variety of wine and some beer. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent service. As for the diving, well, it's impossible to really describe other than to say it is out of this world. Since returning I have decided the best way to describe it is like in the cartoons such as Finding Nemo or The Little Mermaid. The incredible variety of coral really is THAT colorful and gorgeous. The fish really are that big and stunning. Tons of schools of all sorts of fish - bump heads, snapper, giant trivially, and batfish. Plus sharks, turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, sea horses, starfish, sea worms, banner fish, clown fish and the list goes on. But the coup de grace of Misool diving is the manta ray. Massive and majestic creatures that are otherworldly. I could dive with them all day and never get bored. The organization of the diving is the best I have ever experienced. Extreme attention is paid to safety. I always felt in good hands thanks to all the staff including Calvin and Sabine, but especially our amazing and caring dive master James. We went diving with him for 8 days on the same boat with the same equipment master and speedboat driver. They were so kind and thoughtful, I wanted to take them home with me. There was something amazing to see on every single dive. The one down side about this place is that we had to leave. And I do believe that I am now forever spoiled. Misool Eco Resort is truly a 5 star destination."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Excellence personified"
"My wife and I went to on safari with Noel and his team and the service, food, the quality of the room/tent attitude of the staff were fantastic I cannot fault it. In addition their expertise in the Safari were outstanding, they identified a number of animals, leopards and elephants that a number of the other tours missed while they were rushing around to find a leopard! Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"The Cabochon Hotel: "Feels like home"
This was the second time I spent some days in this wonderful retreat with my family. This hotel is just a magic place and everytime we arrive here it almost feels like coming home. Especially in a busy city like Bangkok this wonderful place is perfect to comfort you.We will come again and only can recommend it to everybody who is looking for a small hotel of no other kind. The staff is super friendly, the food is fantatsic and every little detail of this hotel feels like it has been developed with an incredible aamount of love and passion without any compromise.Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Traditional house in bustling Seoul"
"Stayed for a night in the separate house (which has 2 bathrooms) with 3 other friends. The house was well maintained and clean!Hosts were responsive and helpful. You could borrow the hanboks from the host to try on and take Instagram-worthy pictures with the traditional setting. As if you just hopped on the time machine! What we love most was the breakfast! It's ""SEOUL YUMMY!"" (So yummy, pun intended). Just by looking at the picture is enough to salivate!' It's so good that we felt all other meals we had during our trip were just so plain and average! Words can't express how good it was. You have to try it to know it! :) The location of the house is not so straightforward. It would be good if you have wifi-egg to navigate and locate using your phone! Otherwise I would advise you to get detailed directions from the host before the trip. "Le Passe-Temps: "A peaceful and relaxing place."
Away from the crowds and the (too) busy Ao Nang, small hotel where you feel like home. The owners, staff .. everyone is adorable. A perfect place to rest and explore the choice of Phang Nga Bay, paradise islands, Railay, etc. Do not miss the evening cocktail in the Lobby!Reverie Siam: "Chilled out elegance and locally sourced food"
I loved our stay here - the pool, the rooms (upgraded not once, but twice!), the wonderful staff and service - this is a romantic and nostalgic resort nestling in the mountains in the town of Pai. Pai itself has changed a lot and become more touristy over the years, but staying here gives you a feeling of being cocooned in time and luxury. The rooms are beautiful with an old colonial feel, and the saltwater infinity pool looks out to the mountains. Often we were the only people in it. The staff were unfailingly helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The food is amazing!!!! The chef really knows his stuff, and sources local produce. We were supposed to stay two nights at the start of a two week stay in the area, but once we found this place my partner wouldn't let us leave :-) I'd definitely go back to this dreamy place whenever I could..... (travelled May 2015 but option to date didn't go back that far)Manukan Island Resort: "Heaven in earth in Manukan Island"
A short boat ride from KK is Manukan Island. This small island with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches has this gem Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. We stayed in an awesome Hillside Villa just above their private beach. The villa was stunningly beautiful and comfy, you will feel like home. The décor itself makes you not want to leave the island ever! Pure luxury! Right below the villa is the beautiful beach where you can spend hours snorkeling and discovering the reef. The island is small and it has a sunset point where you can go and admire a beautiful sunset over the ocean. At night you can enjoy amazing food at their awesome restaurant with live music! Sutera Sanctuary lodges is Heaven on earth.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
