Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Easter holida"
Our stay at the Golden Buddha Resort was magnificent, truly magical. We knew getting there was going to be a bit of a trek, but it was really worth it. The location by the sea is great, the beach was vast and empty, each tree-house beautifully furnished and our son liked it too (the pool table, the pizzas at the beach-bar and wifi at the clubhouse especially) It's a place to enjoy nature, where you can reflect, breathe and simply live. With a few added bits of luxury the resort had the perfect balance for us. We stayed at Baan Marina which was beautiful, spent most of our days at the resort (close to the beach bar) and the club house in the evening, playing pool, cards or reading after food. The staff were ever so friendly, Massi and Pena were the perfect hosts. If we would recommend anything, it would be good to offer a few alternative dishes in the evening for kids although saying that we thought the chef was really excellent. Breakfast was a treat too! Thanks to everyone at Golden Buddha for the lovely memories, we loved it!THE ISLAND LODGE: "FANTASTIC"
"this does not have yo be a long review Location is perfect, so peaceful Service is excellent and very discreet Privacy at its best 5 star French breakfast... for FREE Value for money a great deal though a bit pricey in the first place. Your feeling definitely different after your stay... just waiting to come back!! "Reverie Siam: "Beautiful resort – great place to stay"
I can't recommend Reverie Siam enough! Set in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of town, Reverie Siam is a relaxing and peaceful retreat. It offers beautiful and comfortable rooms with ensuites (including a deep bath tub), two pools, a restaurant, a free shuttle service into town (including providing a mobile to call them for pick-up), free wifi, and complementary breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!Reverie Siam: "Beautiful, peaceful resort"
"We had a lovely stay at the Reverie. The grounds are as beautiful as they look on the website. You could be mistaken for thinking you were in Europe. The rooms are palatial, the bed was very comfortable and bathroom was luxurious. It was great having such a good quality restaurant at the resort. We enjoyed having a wine and cheese and meat board by the river during the day, cocktails and tapas at night and the delicious breakfasts in the morning. The only downsides were: - It seems to cater to tour groups, which made it a bit less peaceful -the wifi is not super strong but still pretty good -the pool was so cold! -if you are into minimalist decor, this place is not for you - a final minor point - some members of the tour group left their underwear to dry outside their rooms either on the pathway or on the balconies. I would recommend management ask people to dry clothes in their room to maintain the sophisticated image the hotel has worked hard to achieve. Overall this hotel is great value and made for a very luxurious, restful stop in Pai."Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Holiday"
The Cabochon is quiet and peaceful reminiscent of a colonial era with all the trimmings of a boutique residence. The location offers great access to the city's delights including retail and food outlets. The rooms are light, airy and spacious with crisp white bedding. The pool area is sedate and relaxing. The restaurant serves a wonderful array of Thai delights from all regions of this wonderful land. The bar area is busy with eclectic wonders but also soothing and tasteful. The staff are smart, attentive and most helpful. I would recommend this to any discerning traveller. I most certainly will be returning.Locavore: "Amazing"
"Quite a different experience of food made with local ingredients, but in a modern way. When you first enter, you can choose from the 5-course menu or 7-course menu, but don't be fooled - there are many more appetizers and desserts that they sneak into the menu. There was also a vegetarian menu, as well as some raw dishes. I don't eat raw stuff, so the waitress advised that I could substitute the items from the vegetarian menu, or other items from the 7 course menu. There is no a la carte menu. As each dish is presented, the waitress will explain briefly about the ingredients and how you are supposed to eat it. I think there are already many pictures of the dishes, so I don't have to go into them in detail. Sufficient to say, each dish is made of a complex and interesting symphony of flavours, so your tongue in for a major treat. The entire 5-course meal took 2 hours, so be sure to budget sufficient time for this experience. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. To book, you can go through the website, and be sure to book 2-3 months in advance to ensure that you can get a slot you want. The restaurant is usually fully booked. Also, if you do book - make sure that you do not get your booking wrong. They are serious about charging USD60 per person for no-shows."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Perfect"
A great place to stay. Views were stunning, hosts were really helpful. Tea tour, walks and toy train ride all great, and the Glenburn guides took all of the hassle out of it. Food was great too, and lots of it! Ride was long and bumpy, but drivers were safe and friendly. Picnic at a viewpoint was also a highlight.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Best hotel in the whole of Myanmar"
There is nothing to fault this hotel. It is basically run by youngsters from all around myanmar who stay and learn hotel management under supervision. They also improve their english as the6 have an English and American teacher. The rooms overlook water and are large and comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meals are tasty. The young staff make it and are always chatty and smiling. It is a must stay at hotel.Jings-residence: "An absolute pleasure in every way."
This boutique hotel has struck an exquisite balance between ancient and modern. The authentic courtyard building has retained its innate period charm, whilst they’ve managed to install some sort of genius plumbing/electrical system behind the scenes so that the facilities are absolutely up-to-date and reliable, with brilliant hot spa-like showers w/ plenty of pressure. The rooms are all different (in shape, size, and decor), supremely comfortable, and beautifully designed. Simple, elegant, traditional courtyard style with a touch of Indonesian influence I’d say. The rooms are laid out around a series of courtyards and lantern-lined stone corridors that make you feel like you’ve time travelled. A lovely, special place. I only wish I could find more places like Jing Residence in China! xxVILLA SONG SAIGON: "Affordable luxury"
"What a way to end our engagement holiday. Stunning venue, amazing food, staff go over and above to make sure you every need is met. A wonderful place to relax from the hustle and bustle of HCMC! We were given a free late check-out which was much appreciated given our long-haul flight didn't leave until 9 pm the next night. Thank you so much! "Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
