MesaStila: "Colonial Elegance and Very Relaxing"
"The resort is 30-40 buildings assembled on a beautiful plateau. The original plantation house has been restored and elegant yet unique. The staff was polite, friendly, professional and extremely helpful through our entire visit. The breakfast is very good and includes different options of Indonesian and western food. I especially enjoyed the homemade yogurt The spacious villas look like something out of a film set with a huge king size teak four poster bed, antique furniture and lamps, wooden shutters, a day couch overlooking the balcony, and a lovely bathroom including a huge tub and luxurious towels. The villa was well-kept and very clean. The hotel has a daily complimentary coffee plantation walking tour which was excellent. We really enjoyed learning about the 4 different types of coffee plants and the history of MesaStila. The hotel spa is great. We had complimentary neck and shoulder massages. My wife enjoyed the varied spa packages."Reverie Siam Pai: "Stunning"
This is an absolute gem, if you want to have a relaxing stay at a stunning hotel resort then do yourself a favour and book a room here. The staff cannot do enough for you and the food is out of this world, there's normally live, relaxing music being played while you sit having your meal or enjoying a cocktail in the most comfortable seats going. I cannot rate this place highly enough, we will enjoy a return visit, hopefully this year. Go on treat yourself. The Island Lodge: "Shangri-La on the Mekong"
"This hotel enjoys an idyllic location on the banks of the Mekong & everything about it is right. Our room provided a great view of the river & waking up to the dawn chorus of roosters crowing & the gentle murmur of river traffic was a delight. We were then able to move to the balcony & watch the sun rise. Our spotlessly clean room was spacious & comfortable with copious quantities of bamboo in keeping with the location. The bed was large & comfortable with an attached shower room & separate toilet. The food at both dinner & breakfast was superb & my wife commented that her quiche & salad was one of the best she had ever eaten. I still remember the exquisite chocolate fondant. Breakfast was cooked to order so we could have as much as we wanted & nothing was wasted. Service throughout our visit was exemplary. Outside, the hotel has a good-sized swimming pool & sauna with ample sun loungers, complete with parasols, towels & sun hats, for all the guests so there is no need to arrive early & reserve one. We recommend this hotel unreservedly for all ages."David’s Kitchen: "A Perfect Evening"
"Everything about our evening at David's Kitchen was a real pleasure. From the ease of booking online, the way the staff look after you, the beautiful restaurant, David himself, and the food. I can't think of any negatives at all. To have a restaurant of this quality in Chiang Mai is a real blessing and a treat that everyone living here should allow themselves at least once."Tugu Lombok: "Quirky and very special."
This is such a quirky hotel. I was slightly alarmed on guest impressions because this is definitely not a sophisticated, one dimensional hotel. This is a one off. Beautiful situation right on the beach, big rooms with outside bathrooms and plunge pools, huge grounds, two pools - the new one bring a large infinity pool with fresh water and I always had it to myself). Plenty of sunbeds so you never had to rush anywhere and the staff were all completely charming. We were made to feel very welcome and everyone knew our names. The manager was very visible and personable and, like all the staff, seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. A very special place. Recommend the BBQ on the beach (the staff went to great lengths to make it special and the food was fab). Also recommend Gillian Island snorkelling trip where we saw lots of turtles which was a highlightManukan Island Resort: "Lazy days on the beach"
For the past few days in Sabah we wanted us to relax a bit and chose the nearby island of KK Manukan. Arrival / Room: Already at the pier we were surprised: by private email boat we were taken to the island. Us a cool water was also pressed into his hand the same. On the island you received us very friendly with a cool cloth and a tea / drink. Although we arrived already at 11 am, we moved into our beach villa same. We were told everything and there were apples ready and refrigerate soft drinks and replenished daily free water. Our Beach Villa was the first one up front at the reception and on the way, but the fact that we were on the first floor, the day visitors did not bother us. The room and the bathroom are really very nice, clean and large. It is anything useful present: flip-flops, flip-flops for outdoors, beach towels, shampoo, shower gel, a comb, a toothbrush, etc. The TV has some channels in English. The WiFi does so about 50% of the time works, and if so, then the connection was good. But since I do not know that there is absolutely WiFi, I was pleasantly surprised anyway. Beach: The private beach is very nice, the chairs and umbrellas are great. With us rarely strayed days Visitors on our beach and were usually relatively quickly pointed out by the staff that they are here only allows guests. In the water was only now and then someone Resort stranger. (But was apparently just not much going on). The hammocks were also very comfortable. Unfortunately, on the first two days, a bit much trash on the beach, and although actually some employees were traveling, was not collected the. But from the third day it was all super clean. Convenient to all Villa Beach residents might still be a shower or locker room at the private beach, one could go swimming on the last day even after checking out. but otherwise it is not far to the room, so do not disturb it. Since the seabed is very sandy, the water is not always clear, especially if it is something stormy. However, I found the snorkeling better than expected. You see a lot of fish and a few living coral there still. Restaurant: The breakfast was amazing. One can choose from 6 different dishes as much as you want but until you come to order, you already have fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread, jams are at the table. as we were a few days there, we tried almost everything and it was all very good. The dinner was also very good, but the selection was not quite as big. The live music was not bad, but I found it funny when they are directly at the table, but the Asian tourists found the apparently quite cool. The prices of local I found okay, I had feared worse. The cocktails were not bad either. Other: there are from the infrastructure all it takes, there are two souvenir shops that sell snacks, drinks and ice cream, three restaurants (during the day), and a rental for lifejackets / snorkel / etc, you can book some tours on Downbelow. and the resort also offers a few specials on (dinner on the beach, BBQ, picnic basket, ...) All in all, we liked it really well on Manukan. The day trippers not really bother us, but it is also pretty cool, if you have the island from late afternoon almost alone for themselves. For us it was exactly what we had imagined. We did not want to be so far away from KK, a beautiful beach and a nice room, have to go a little snorkeling and walk a little. Those who place more emphasis on marine life, should perhaps rather long way from KK (eg Mantanani Iceland or, probably best to Semporna). But we have felt very comfortable and special and can highly recommend it. Which is a shame (for which the resort but nothing can), the many garbage which is not only washed ashore from the sea, but is mainly caused by the day trippers. People throw everything away easily or leave it. In addition, an extra is that one should not use plastic bags in the shops but they are used for all sorts of things.Tugu Lombok: "Beautiful Hotel Tugu Lombok where you can relax, destress and be pampered"
Hotel Tugu Lombok's hotel rooms are filled with amazing antiques, yet modern with a huge TV and free wifi. Our bathroom was indoor/outdoor and I must say it was a uniquely wonderful experience to take a shower outdoors in a mosaic tub. The open air restaurant serves delicious meals and overlooks the common pool and a view of the ocean. The 15 minute welcome massage was so wonderful that I booked a one hour massage. Along their beach Hotel Tugu has strategically placed double beds (yes beds) complete with sheets, thrown pillows and a food tray. The perfect spot to relax, have drinks, snacks, dinner and when it becomes dusk, candles are lit around the beds. It was so relaxing to lie back and hear the crash of the waves and enjoy star gazing. During my stay I booked a car tour of Lombok and I saw people and places that most tourists did not. If you are looking for a more in depth look of Lombok and its people you will not be disappointed in this tour. I was fortunate to have had my tour with Budi. His English is extremely good and he is a courteous and gracious guide. Hotel Tugu Lombok is what every vacation live up to.Villa Song Saigon: "Villa Song – a boutique gem with a surprisingly nice pool"
great place - friendly staff - good attention to detail - really nice pool and all next to the river plus a free boat ride to the city takes about 15 mins Great garden / restaurant bar/grill 5 mins taxi ride away called The Patio if you don't want to dine by the river at the hotelTHE SAMAR: "Back Home"
"Always a great feeling to go back to a place I like. The staff make me feel ""home"" as this is the 3rd time I stay here. Little attentions, smiles.. and this familiar atmosphere, the beautiful dark swimming pool. I travel quite a lot for both work and pleasure, and it is great to have ""harbors"" around, to rest, feel comfortable, recharge... The Samar is one of my harbors. Thanks to all of you!"Sea Dance Resort: "Amazing Place with Truly Amazing Hospitality"
"Stayed at this property for 2 nights with wife & 2 year old kid. Striking feature about this resort: 1. Staff: be it reception, housekeeping or restaurant, they are simply the people who love their job truly. Always welcoming guest with a big smile & addressing the guest by their names. They love to engage with the guest on variety of topics . 2. View from the restaurant. It is picture perfect for a good start to your day. Property is small, but has its own charm & we truly enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are small (Relatively) but practical. Offer complete privacy to each of the room. Bathroom is open to air & you may have to share your space with some tiny guests... Snails :) Our room was provided with an infant bed as complimentary. Breakfast is tasty & if you have a specific preference, do let them know in advance so that they can accommodate your request. Beach is small & rocky. I wish the all Hotels that share this beach own up some responsibility and ensure cleanliness on beach. Special mention for Gopal for wonderful conversation during dinner."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
