Locavore: "Stunning… Again"
Once again Locavore blew us away. What they do is spectacular and they appear to deliver the goods without drowning the dishes with unnecessary foams and jus - the creativity seems to lie in spectacular combinations of products and spices that give and give on the palate. Just stunning and very clever. We dined with a chef from Australia and she was hugely impressed. Always nice when your guests are thrilled. Keep up the spectacular work!!: "Little Gem"
"Great boutique hotel with excellent reach to shopping and plenty of food options. The team was very accommodating to my request for a quiet room and provided a free upgrade when we arrived at 8pm. Room was very large and well decorated. The bed was the largest I have ever seen and so so comfy. Room layout was way better than any other 5 stars hotels I have stayed in Bangkok. A great bargain if you intend to eat, shop and get massages as they are all within walking distance. Not suitable for people who want to enjoy a sunbathing or pool access as there is no pool. I was aware but perfect as I intended to do other things around Bangkok. Highly recommended."MesaStila: "A Mountainous Trip to Paradise"
"MesaStila is a hidden gem, the grounds are incredible and exceeded all our exceptions, The staff were willing to help us at every turn. This is a must of those looking to get away from it all, explore the grounds, enjoy many activities available, relax by the pool. Hire a guide and head to a waterfall where you will walk thru villages and experience central java at its best. This property is a must - its perfect for stopping and remembering how calm life can be without the hassle and bustle. I urge everyone to go here. Just note if you are travelling in a large group as we were (8A 9C) pre order lunches and dinners as it can take a while to get your meal. "Mie Cafe: "I would return to Siem Reap just to eat here again! Top, top food!!"
"In short I absolutely loved this restaurant and the food we ate here!! For me our meal here was one the highlights of Siem Reap - possibly better than battling the crowds at some of the temples! In fact it was 7 months ago but I cannot forget how good it was. Probably one of the best meals I ate anywhere this year or ever in SE Asia. Lovely building (traditional wooden house) set in a nice garden. We caught a taxi to get there as was a little out of town but really not far and definitely worth the 5 or so minute ride. We shared starters including yummy scallops but the highlight was the marinated frogs legs that were served perched around the most deliciously garlicky wild mushroom tart. Heaven on a plate! I had the most amazing grilled king or tiger prawns drizzled with curry sauce and rice crackers whilst hubby had their infamous pork ribs with french fries. I wasn't wild about the ribs but hubby loved them and preferred them to my prawns. So happily there was less sharing on that course. For dessert I had Mango Banana Sombai made with the local sombai liquer - looked like mush but tasted divine - no sharing! Hubby had chocolate cake with ice cream. We also had a lovely bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc (Anakena) and I think a cocktail and beer to start. A must go for foodies who appreciate well made food! Would recommend eating slightly earlier than we did as it closes at 9.15pm and was a little quiet by the time we arrived for our 8pm reservation and empty when we left. A 7pm may have been better. Book in advance so you do not miss! Only disconcerting part was eating the delicious frog legs against what I think was the sound of frogs croaking in the garden although we could swear their calls dropped whilst we ate them ;-)"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Reminiscent of the Raj"
"I visited the Estate in May 2015 for a week with my family. The welcome drink at the airport and Break at a scenic location overlooking the confluence of 2 rivers with tea, muffins, sandwichs served in typical English style were a delight and set tone for a very different vacation. The Estate (1600 Acres, i was told) is nestled on a hill top and the view is just incredible. We managed to see the Kanchanjunga for 15 minutes on the day we came and thereafter, it remained cloudy during our stay The Food is very good, the tea is on demand (u can order any type u want.. n number of times) and the dinner is a formal sit down affair in the dining hall. They have a log house at the riverside .. the drive, fishing and food again is worth the time. For the excursions to city etc, u get a Scorpio with a driver, attendant in proper uniform who takes care of the food, water, logistics, toy train tickets, etc... u dont need to move a finger. Everything taken care of .. professionally. Visit their tea factory .. nice place to see how tea is made. All in all ... a great place to sit back, get pampered, enjoy the view, have tea and realise that you have been drinking apology of a tea all this time. Fantastic place ... great staff. Oh .. yes .. they still use cutlery from England."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Peaceful stay in the middle of the rice fields"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sanak Retreat. The villas two bedrooms are comfortable in the middle of the rice fields. The food is excellent, the spa is amazing and the staff is friendly. I recommend a trek of 3 hours to the Banuatis waterfalls.Maison Polanka: "Maison Polanka"
This is a superior, magical place secluded from the hubbub yet only a few steps away from the main streets and central parts of the city. It's owners and staff are intelligent, graceful and always helpful to give you with the most courteous service. Their attitude is to provide you with memorable visit.Food, accommodations, and grounds are of the most pleasant and tasteful possible. Worth every bit of a visit and repeated stays.Of lovely place to experience and remember.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "I would give even more stars if possible!!!"
"******************************** My whole experience there was AMAZING!!! I went there for lunch and found out on the spot that they had a special business menu, changing every day according to the chef's inspiration (and very reasonably priced). The menu is 2 or 3 courses, with a couple of options for starters and mains. The fine dinning starts with amuse-bouche and I also got some ""miniardiases"" to conclude on a lovely sweet note! The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely thanks to Lucia's care and sense of harmony. Felix, the Michelin's star chef who is running the kitchen, was not there the day I visited but he has trained his chefs very well as all the dishes were perfectly executed. The produces are fresh, locally and organically grown when possible. The staff is very attentive. More than a delicious restaurant, it is a social enterprise with the couple incorporating local skills and goods, not only the content of the plates but also in all the elements of the decor. The result is a beautiful blend which deserve many stars! I cannot express the enjoyment I had, it has to be experienced... so your turn is up, it worth the trip!!! *********************************"NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Another great visit to Leopard Safaris"
"We visited Leopard Safaris for the second time and had another great experience. Camp facilities have been improved with bigger tents and fans and flushing toilets. The service is just as good with great local food and small details such as cold face towels on arrival and after the drives. Our hosts Sajith and Praneeth were excellent very knowledgeable and, as we are keen photographers very happy to position the vehicle so we could get the best shots. Only one fleeting leopard siting at dusk but we had a great extended experience with a sloth bear. It's very interesting to drive around and have birds and animals pointed out that, whilst there, are not obvious to the untutored eye. All in all an experience that I can highly recommend. "Les Maisons d’Itac: "Absolutely Amazing!"
It's no wonder that this resort is listed in Secret Retreats www.secret-retreats.com - probably one of the best resorts in the South Western part of Cebu Island, what a find! The resort only has 5 accommodation types from houses to studio types. Very modern, staff excellent, manager amazing, food fantastic - I can say all wonderful things about Les Maison d'Itac! Plus, it is absolutely child friendly, the pool is located in a safe distance and the beach is only 2steps down, we were never worried having kids around. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visit Cebu! I will definiely return in the future.
