The Twelve Hotel: "Absolute ruhe Oase"
Hotel Tugu is the most perfect location for a relaxed honeymoon. The location is incredible. Beautiful white sandy beaches and warm crystal blue sea. The facilities are great and there's an incredible sense of space. The food is extremely good. We came away knowing we had eaten amazing tasty and healthy food. Above all though the staff at Tugu make it really special. Everyone is happy and friendly and they really cant do enough to make you feel welcome.Misool Eco Resort: "Simply splendid"
Torn as to whether to share info about this place, or keep it a secret. Stayed here in April-2014 with my partner, in water cottage number 5. The location is spectacular and the resort is just lovely. Decent food (excellent wines), high end facilities, and wonderful/friendly staff. It is truly impressive to see what the owners have accomplished here, up to and including the engagement of local stakeholders/residences to make this place part of the local community. Oh, and the diving is truly high-end... Diving is second-best ever, following Sipadan, but all in, this place was a notch above. This, and Auberge du Manoir in Chamonix France, are the only places I/we intend to revisit. Congratulations to the owners, on an impressive undertaking. The Cabochon Hotel: "Simply Amazing"
Stayed at this property for a vacation in Thailand on the reference of a local. It is tucked away off of a busy street and has the look and feel of a 1950s mansion. Such a cool property with amazing service and the feel of being at home. The rooftop pool was awesome and a treat to start each day. Would definitely stay here again! The Cabochon Hotel: "Charming Boutique Hotel"
"Amazing! The decor and building have so much character. The staff was extremely attentive. This was a relaxing retreat in the middle of bustling Bangkok. Breakfast was incredible and something we looked forward to each day. Convenient location near a BTS stop. Would highly recommend. "Flower Island: "Amazing place"
My boyfriend and I stayed here with two friends for 4 days and it was undoubtedly the most wonderful part of our trip to the Philippines! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the island itself is like paradise. We did some fantastic activities too - a tour of a pearl farm (which was fascinating), snorkelling trips, paddleboarding.. And we saw turtles just off the house beach. The huts are beautiful too and all look out to sea. Truely wonderful - we'd recommend this to anyone either as part of an active holiday or looking to chill out for a few days.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "my no 1 in Siem Reap"
Excellent food, excellent staff, nice owner who even walks up to the road to greet you there and walk you through the garden. Interesting fusion kitchen, nice but small wine list. Would go back there every day!Cuisine Wat Damnak: "A little overrated"
The chef was lovely. The menu is limited--there are only two pre-fix menus and you must choose either or leave, I guess. Haha, It was good but maybe a little too pricey for the small portions.Muang La Lodge: "A magical experience in Northern Laos"
"We have been fortunate to travel to many wonderful places with wonderful experience but I must say our recent stay at Muang La Resort rates among two that felt magical. The attractive designed buildings and immaculate green grounds set smack dab beside the Nam Pak (river) in this little valley beside the Muang La village is an idyllic spot for a vacation. From the moment we were welcomed by the general manager and staff with a welcome beverage and snack, to our beautiful and comfortable rooms and the delicious meals - we so enjoyed our stay here. Since traveling with our high-school aged son we booked two adjacent rooms at the edge of the property which overlooked the Nam Pak. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed walking to the dining area (covered but open to beautiful views of the river and surrounding hills) as there is well cared for lawns and tropical plants. The meals were delicious, from several choices for breakfast to the gourmet fusion dinners. We found every staff member to be friendly and attentive to our requests and needs. You could lounge at the Resort property and thoroughly enjoy yourself - we chose to experience it all, from the infinity pool on the island in the middle of the Nam Pak (complete with pool bar and snack service - recommend the Lao Mojito and Khamu Blue), to the hot spas (both the resorts's private dip and the very hot community spa shared with the village)... the steam room was a treat for the nose and sinuses with a mixture of lemongrass and other herbs). We rode available bikes to the Khamu village across the river and also took several excursions with the arranged guide Don. Loved the mountain bike ride along the rice paddies to the local villages and through town. The 4-wheel drive adventure to the Hmong village and through the forest to climb the rock overlooking the valley was an amazing and exhilarating journey, but the biggest impact on us was walking through the villages and interacting with the people - such kind and warm people who willingly shared their life with us. Getting to Muang La Resort requires dedication (for us, a 5-hour van ride from Luang Prabang) - but so much worth it. This stay really gave us a feel for the warm-hearted people of Southeast Asia. Thank you to the management and staff of Muang La for a perfect stay - memories we will treasure!"Satri House: "Truly beautiful hotel"
This is one of the most beautiful historic boutique hotels in the world. From the moment of our pick up and check in to check out everything was truly 'royal' and perfect. The staff was the most impressive. The architecture and grounds are breathtaking. The rooms lovely and relaxing in decor. One really felt as if you were a guest of royalty long ago. Breakfast was elegant and delicious. The restaurant served tasty dishes though we liked some more than others. The red curry was super delicious.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
