The Island Lodge: "Boutique hotel heaven"
This is the most amazing place you could visit. Lodge is a must stay if your visiting the Mekong, it is exquisitely appointed the rooms are a delight, the hosts are a joy. I could not fault this place in any fashion.Rachamankha: "Words Cannot Describe How Beautiful this Hotel Is"
"My girlfriend and I stayed at the Rachamankha in November 2015 for several nights. We absolutely loved our Chiang Mai experience and my girlfriend admits that Chiang Mai is her favorite travel destination so far (and we have been to many). In addition to the scootering around the city, the expeditions into the countryside and the Thai cooking class, the Rachamankha had a huge role in this wonderful first impression. The hotel does an amazing job of balancing natural and classic beauty with modern luxury. I felt calm at this hotel like I haven't at other hotels. The staff, the rooms, the property, the pool - everything seemed perfect. For the experience that you get this hotel is well worth the money. One funny note. There is a library in the middle of the hotel that is beautiful and has glass cases with all sorts of books, including a ton about history and architecture, as well as free brandy. The only problem is that these books are not generally accessible to the guests and I believe they are the personal books of the owner. We tried to ask if we could see a couple books and after being passed off to a couple of people they allowed us to take a look at a limited number of books in only two cases but it felt very much like we weren't supposed to be doing that and were being offensive. It just struck us as natural that if you put a beautiful library in a hotel that guests can access, the guests may want to read the books. This did nothing to tarnish our amazing stay at this beautiful hotel, we just thought it was kinda funny."Satri House: "Beautiful hotel – loved our four nights at Satri House"
"I loved Satri House - the rooms and public areas are stunning. I loved the antiques and art work and the gardens. It felt like an exquisitely restored home rather than a hotel. The rooms are dark, and the floors do creak (upstairs), but this is because the hotel is in an old house. I wanted to move in. I also thought the staff were lovely and I liked the location. It was in a quiet area away from the main tourist streets, but a very short walk to them. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Dreamlike"
"Enchanting - beyond excellent. Wonderful staff and food; special thanks to George Ranjan and Luna. Only slight disappointment was that the mountains were obscured by mist for most of the time, unusually for November."Cuca: "Favorite in Jimbaran"
I absolutely love what you are doing! Creative and passionate chef, you can feel the passion in all details. Service is very friendly and professional too. Love to come back. The Governor’s House: "Warm"
This hotel was amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best I had while on my vacation. There is a cozy feeling to this place that made me feel like I was right at home.Jing’s Residence: "Stay and be immersed in 1000 years historic China"
WHen I visited Pingyao, I felt like stepping into an Ip Man/Kung Fu Master movie. This hotel amplified that experience as, like most of Pingyao, it is a beautifully restored 1000-year old historic oriental masterpiece. It really felt like one was staying at Ip Man's place itself!...well in addition of the excellent breakfast, modern amenities like WiFi and television, cozy and luxurious lounge. Since this hotel is located at an unassuming street in Pingyao, it is also very quiet. If you can afford it, stay here when visiting Pingyao. The Island Lodge: "1 Night Not Enough"
"Paradise away from the city. Only stayed one night as part of a package. If relaxation with some tranquillity, good food and 5 star customer service - would recommend. It is a bit of a drive either from HCMC Airport of from where the Bassac Boat tours operate from. But well worth it. Would like to return for longer next time. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Glenburn Tea Estate: "A hidden gem not to be missed!"
A stay at the Glenburn tea estate is a truly unforgettable experience and we loved every minute of it. Whichever way you look from the delightful gardens or from either of the beautiful bungalows there is a wonderful vista, even when the mountains are shrouded in mist. Unfortunately for us, the weather was not at its best when we stayed in late March/early April, but we were lucky enough to be there for 5 nights and so we at least had 2 fabulous mornings when we were treated to the breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range from the comfort of our room. Our room (Camelia) was fabulously spacious and beautifully decorated in English country house style with a lovely seating area, and French doors onto a small balcony with magnificent views. The bathroom was enormous with roll top bath and huge walk in shower. We did not see any of the other rooms but all other guests seemed just as impressed with theirs, and we gather the views are wonderful from each and every room. The food was delicious with an imaginative and varied menu and, despite initial reservations, we really rather enjoyed the communal dining in the evening. It was very interesting to meet such a variety of people from all over the world. I think perhaps my husband was a little bored on the last evening being the only man at a dining table full of rather verbose women! There was plenty to keep us amused during our 5 night stay with a visit to the tea factory, walks around the estate looking at the flowers, birds and butterflies, a lovely (though quite tiring) hike to the river camp with a tasty meal when we arrived, and a day trip into Darjeeling. We could have done a lot more but, after the hustle and bustle of Kolkata, and because the gardens were so idyllic, we relished in the opportunity to relax, reading, chatting, playing cards and drinking plenty of Glenburn First Flush tea! All of the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, and hats off to the multi-talented Nilima and Luna for being such lovely and well-informed guides, but also for running the shop and helping with the organisation of the staff welfare programme, amongst a multitude of other skills. A very big thank you to Jemima, Holly and all the staff for a truly memorable and delightful stay........ We hope we will return one day.Satri House: "Stunning"
What more can I say other than the Satri House other than it is a beautiful property located about 15 minutes walk from the main tourist strip in Luang Prabang, and fairly east to get to from the airport. Our room was simply stunning, and super modern looking and attractive woodwork, with a high ceiling, four poster super comfy bed, decent sized bathroom (with a large shower area) and amenities - the bed also had a mosquito net which was put down to protect you at night. In addition to that, the breakfast, which was complimentary, was absolutely outstanding and cooked to order and a delight. The staff also helped organise tours for us with private operators which were all excellent and reasonably priced, and were otherwise at hand to deal with any concerns. My only criticism (including of Laos generally) is that the WiFi did not work at all throughout my visit - its a huge problem in Laos generally, and Satri House should really look into what they can do here..Other than this slight technical issue, I cannot speak any more highly of Satri House, the staff or the experience..definitely one for the memories...
