Supanniga Eating Room: "Best Thai food in Thailand!"
I realize my title is a bold claim. This is the food capital of the world, after all. (OK maybe NYC). But the passion for quality here is simply remarkable. The cabbage with fish sauce dish, for example, is so simple and yet mind-blowingly delicious. I believe this chef has another restaurant in BKK and one in NYC - both of which also get unbelievable reviews.tugu malang: "Quite charming and well worth a visit"
This is a lovely little bijou hotel, filled with Indonesian and Chinese antiques and art, conveniently situated right in the heart of the old town facing a pleasant open square. The architecture, like the rest of the hotel, is slightly idiosyncratic and charmingly individual, which differentiates it from the usual run-of-the-mill ‘international’ hotels. The staff in reception, housekeeping and the restaurant are exceptionally efficient and helpful in a relaxed, friendly way. The restaurant has a wide selection of cuisine – Indonesian, Chinese and international – which often spells trouble, because it is difficult to keep such a range of ingredients fresh. However everything we ate in a week-long stay was fresh, delicious and cooked to a every high standard. If you visit Malang, I would definitely recommend this as a most enjoyable place to stay.GLENBURN TEA ESTATE: "Attentive service and superlative luxury"
"We stayed at the end of a 3-week trip around India. What a stunning location high in the hills and quite unlike everywhere else we visited - so quiet, peaceful and unspoilt. We enjoyed the tea and the variety of foods we were served up. We loved relaxing and being pampered. Our room was larger than many London apartments and the bath was literally the biggest in the world. How they got it and all the other furniture down that bumpy road we will never know. We were served 'bed tea' in the morning and breakfast on the verandah with views over the hills and colourful birds swooping in and out of the trees nearby. One morning we took an early walk down the hill to the river, with two bird guides. A stunning walk through the tea bushes. We saw about 30 different species on that walk and were met at the bottom by a table at the water's edge, with our own personal breakfast service. Incredible! Exceptional!! The best part of the stay was the staff. One local young man Ranjan did the tea tour with us and invited us to a wedding at his friend's house. So we all trooped up the hill to a real Indian wedding with great local food and drinks, and a group of smiling people welcoming us strangers into their house. Remarkable. He and many of the other local staff spoke fluent English and were so humble and friendly, I wish I could employ them back in the UK. The resort is managed by a British couple Will and Faye, and currently another Will (I understand that this third team member changes regularly), who were attentive and took care of our every need without imposing on our holiday. They ate with the guests at dinner time and made the trip really special. The two Wills invited me to try fishing with them (unsuccessful but fun!). It's a rare treat to get to stay somewhere so beautiful, and so luxurious, and with such friendly hosts. Thanks to you all!! "4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "It is really amazing eco resort along Tatai River in Koh Kong"
I spent 2 nights there with my friend. It is really a relax and peaceful place with the amazing view of jungle and Tatai River. The staffs are excellent, they are very friendly and helpful. The food is also tasty. In concluded, we really enjoyed this trip. It is really a unique resort in Koh Kong. I hope I will back to stay there again soon.Villa Song Saigon: "Part of my 60th birthday trip to Thailand and Vietnam"
"I have never been to Vietnam before and after spending a week in Thailand we flew to Saigon ( Ho Chi Minh) I had booked the Villa Song hotel whilst in the UK. I like staying near a river or the sea and the hotel looked ideal for us. There were 7 of us incl my wife, her cousin, our 3 children and my eldest sons girlfriend. The hotel was perfect! We arrived and as a surprise some friends of ours who live in Hong Kong had flown in and were at the bar as we arrived. The setting was so good we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner and it was excellent. Great French wines at great prices The chef who also came out to see us was really nice. He was born in Luxembourg and was very helpful. The whole place was excellent - a real original Colonial house that had been renovated into a fabulous boutique hotel. The food, the breakfasts, the cocktails were all superb Great spacious rooms with satellite TV and all the staff could not have been nicer. Above all the prices were sensible and affordable I could not recommend this hotel highly enough - right on the river and just 20 minutes into the centre on a free shuttle bus provided by the hotel You must go!!"RACHAMANKHA: "Oasis"
"We were fortunate to stay here, albeit during the coldest weather in years! This is a true 5* property with wonderfully gracious staff. The location is perfect for walking to most areas you would want to see while in Chiang Mai. Breakfast is more than most would expect and in the evening the food is very good. "Mume: "A great evening, great tastes & ambience"
This is arguably one of Asia's finest restaurants … the a la carte menu is a fusion, at times I felt like at home in Sydney, at times it went to Scandinavia … The ambience is minimalist, dress code casual (loved that aspect), staff friendly and informative; the food we ordered (and most of it shared) was excellent, top marks to the wagyu tartare and ribeye. I read some negative reviews below … I am guessing people were expecting a Chinese banquet for the price. This is quite a different experience, its all about tasting the food, the fresh ingredients and the innovative. We certainly did not leave the restaurant hungry, quite the opposite. If you are a couple like us, choose different starters and mains and try as many as possible. My only objection is the wine list … for a restaurant of this calibre, they should entertain more wines … especially from NZ, Australia (they would go well with the food).Arumdalu: "Family Vacation"
"Overall, I think the resort was spot on. It had everything a family who enjoys traveling needs. Massive rooms that can fit up to around 5 people, though you need to have additional beds that can be provided by the resort. I can say this as I travelled with a huge family of 23. Not only the rooms, the culinary served there was also spectacular though it takes a while to prepare. It has it's own flavor and really has it's speciality for each meal. Though the food looks relatively small, it really changes your mind when you finish it as it makes your stomach full. The activities are also very enjoyable and most of them can be done by everyone. The resort provides kayaks, that can be used in the secluded beach, there are bicycles that can be used to ride along the road heading to a spot to hike, Batu Baginda. Though the route can be challenging for some people, once you reach the spot you can really enjoy the view and the whole trip was worth it. It takes around 2 hours to get there and back. (these activities needs an extra cost) It was late December when me and my family went there so luckily, they gave us a great new year experience by the beach. They had tents prepared for us and there were music to accompany us. But the best part of the event were the fireworks, they were spectacular as they were endless and massive."Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Simply the best"
Had this short break from work few months ago, and a friend recommended Tugu as we’re familiar with the group’s restaurant in Jakarta. The stay was the highlight after spending time in Gili, meals were surprisingly good although a bit pricy, amazing location, and the service was excellent. Thumbs up for all the staff, so friendly and super helpful. Will definitely comeback next year! YEAYYNeeleshwar Hermitage: "A perfect resort in an ideal location – worth every minute of the journey to get there"
We have just returned from our trip to Kerala and Mumbai and have to say that this was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. Our room was delightful, simple but to a very high standard with perfect attention to detail - sitting on our cottage verandah looking out onto the sea was amazing and very tranquil and relaxing - the cottages are designed so that we had privacy and never felt overlooked. The outdoor bathroom was luxurious and simple. Staying at this hotel was the most wonderful experience ever and I can't wait to return. The Hermitage has a peacful ambience - it is eco tourism at its finest - I particularly loved the fact there were no plastic bottles to be found on the resort! The food was superb, the swimming pool out of this world - and the staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A perfect place to spend some time relaxing and being at one with nature.
