Welcome to Phnom Penh

Set along the confluence of the Mekong River and Tonle River, Phnom Penh is the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Evoking a distinctive Southeast Asia feel, this charismatic city’s burgeoning food and nightlife scene adds to its charm. Savour some of the world’s oldest living cuisines, which showcases a delightful contrast in flavours and textures including the popular amok trey made with freshwater fish, lemongrass, garlic, coconut, peanuts, and egg, steamed in banana leaves. For breakfast, both the rice porridge babor and the pork broth rice noodle soup kuy teav are a refreshing way to start off the day.

Explore the cultural sites starting at The Royal Palace to walk around the grounds and view its two splendid pagodas. Glimpse at the inspiring exhibits at the National Museum of Cambodia. Stroll along the Riverside’s pretty boulevard, filled with cafés and small shops. The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek provide insight into the country’s more recent history. Take a short tuk tuk ride to wander around the stalls at the Central Market or Russian Market. Vibrant Phnom Penh—experience the magic.
