The Samar: "Fabulous hotel"
Stayed here originally for 2 nights during our 3 month trip around SE Asia, as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded for free, and shown to the most stunning villa ever! I had emailed the hotel with a few requests for my boyfriends birthday (cooking class in the morning, followed by massage and romantic dinner in the evening) and everything was put together perfectly for us. They effortlessly organised a tuk-tuk to and from town, as well as a day around the temples. The French owner was lovely to us, even extending our stay for an extra two nights for a bargain price as the hotel was quiet. The staff were attentive but not in an overbearing way. The bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in...felt like sleeping on a cloud! All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Samar to anyone staying in Siem Reap who are looking for a little luxury hotel! One small niggle- the cookery class could have been a bit more hands on, and it did seem to be expensive for what you got.The Village House: "Nirvana in the forest"
What a gem....an hour from Kuching in Santobong village...taxi and shuttle available....close to Damai beach and cultural village....this oasis is so lovely it is hard to leave and go sightseeing....great food, good wine and bar selection...lovely pool and staff that go the extra mile with genuine cheerfulness....will be going back for sureHotel Tugu Bali: "Again…. FANTASTIC !"
"Second time at Tugu Amazing moment at Ji restaurant Extreme quality sushi and best view of Canggu to see the sunset; the rooftop is gorgeous. On Thursday, you have à Balinese spectacle, a “must see” The staff is smily and professional I am sure you will enjoy "The Samar: "Great location for Angkor Wat"
We stayed here as a base to explore Angkor Wat and it is just 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from there, the hotel ordered our 04h45 TT to take us to Angkor for the sunrise experience. Well worth the early start, this is a truly spectacular experience and quite possibly the highlight of my Asia travels (still 17 days to go).... The hotel itself is a 10 minute ride from the centre of Siem Reap, but is located in a peaceful location away from the main road, so is very peaceful indeed. We had a suite on the ground floor (little tip, do an sweep of the room/bathroom in search of spiders), they tend to leave the room doors open whilst cleaning and if the rooms are not in use, we awoke at 04h15 to a rather large and unwanted guest in our bathroom. Even in UK I am not good with spiders, this fellow sitting on my toilet bag was huge...I was a tad alarmed. That said, it really is a lovely hotel, beautiful rooms, big comfy bed and a truly special breakfast, beautifully landscaped gardens and friendly informative and attentive staff....What more could you ask for, for $95 per night for a suite.... Great place, lovely staff, amazing country.Inle Princess Resort: "Paradise in the middle of another paradise"
"The hotel lays on the lake, and you need to get there by boat. The trip is so relaxing you starting getting into the rythm. The last part of the trip, has to be done rowing, they do not allow the noise of the boat motors bother their customers. It is just incredible. They preserve the customer rest and we even got a note from the direction apologizing because a monastery nearby had night prayers due to some festivity. The room we got was facing the lake directly. We woke up in the morning with the amazing views, and even some ducks feeding right below us. We enjoyed the best sunsets and dawns from our room porch. We visited in December, one of the coldest months there (around 18-20 ºC) but we got the option to light our chimney (yes we had one) and warm up there. The restaurant was spacious and the food amazing. They service was super educated, we got a waiter very young that clearly was being trained and we could only praise the teacher and the pupil. We did not fully use the rest of installations, but we really enjoyed our stay. I would come back if I could."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Charmant"
Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"MesaStila: "Great place to relax our body and mind"
"This place is really a great place if u want to try an unique experience. - Resort's layout is awesome and well maintained. - They really gives us a great service. We ask for a pick-up service from Jogja, our driver is very nice . He told us a history about Mesastila and gives us recommendation of a tasty local restaurant at Magelang. Even the manager greet us when we walk around the resort. - Their SPA is must try. Hammam steam is already include if you have a treatment here, make sure the staff inform you about it. I have a hammam steam and javanese massage and it's really relaxing my body and make my skin smoother. Totally love it. - The room is very spacious large. We stay at Ambar Villa and I really love the outdoor shower and the bath tub. We can watch scenery while relaxing at bath tub and hearing a nature voice. It's really a great experience. - They do have many daily activities such as coffee plantation tour, yoga, power walk, etc. , and if you want to spend more money there are horse riding, cycling, etc . All you have to do just tell the staff and they would arrange everything. You don't have to worry how to spent a day here. My 1 night stay here feels very short. - My favourite food here is gado-gado. It taste good and beautifully presented. Thank you so much for all the Mesastila team so we can have a great time and great experience here. Tip : - no convenient store near the resort so make sure you bring all the basic necessity ( medicine, cosmetic, etc)."Slow Villas and Spa: "Just perfect!"
"On our 3 weeks roundtrip through Bali and Lombok my girlfriend and me have stayed 3 nights at Slow Private Pool Villas and it was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. To shorten the story: The Slow was even better than expected! Our private villa was surrounded by a huge and nicely planted garden. The pool was just awesome - perfectly clean and bigger than expected. Furniture, tapware and decoration were beautiful and definitely chosen with a huge amount of passion for the details. The staff was always friendly and helpful - no matter if we wanted to go diving, book a snorkeling trip or had some other questions: there's nothing they can't help you with in order to have the perfect time at Gili Air. The breakfast is definitely another highlight. It's getting served at your Villa at your preferred time and tastes delicious! We can't wait to come back next year! But then for longer than 3 nights. :)"David’s Kitchen: "From the start you are made to feel that your dining experience matters to them as well."
Most of it has already been said it's not just an evening out it's an experience. David and his staff go out of their way to give you a memorable night out. We went twice the week we were in Chiang Mai missing out on some other restaurants we had planned to visit.Cuca: "Wow adventure"
It's a really amazing restaurant set up with open kitchen. All the chef is working in a very systemic way and you cannot imagine how clean the kitchen is.The service is excellent and the food is very outstanding. You vision, taste and smell has been all taken care. The food is tasty and placed like a artwork. We have tried the chef tasting meal which you can experience 9 different course. Every dishes was impressed and the chef will explain the dish to you one by one. The main chef Kevin will even approach and talk to you personally about the experience. It's a must visit restaurant in Bali.
