Tugu Lombok: "Unique, thoughtful service in a stunning location"
"We spent 3 nights in Tugu and were firstly impressed by the size and beauty of the property. The long stretch of private beach and two pools offer a lot of space and comfy sun loungers. The surrounding area and restaurant/ lobby is beautiful - very authentic and often pays tribute to the Hindu religion and times gone by, but is very charming. The service is excellent - they offer a very personal service and give great advice about hotel activities and the surrounding areas. Elly and Henry in reception are brilliant. The menu is extensive and the food was good. Smoothies and cocktails are excellent. We also enjoyed a private yoga class and massage - both were great and reasonably priced. If you are looking for sun, sea, sand, good food, service, activities - then this is the place! "Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Wonderful stay in a unique property"
"Traveled in a group of 5 adults and 1 child, booked two rooms and were given two on the second floor. The rest of the property is accessible by the public by paying for a guided tour, but the wings where the accommodations are are private and limited to guests staying overnight only. At night, the mansion takes on a different light and life of its own. A different vibe and feel from the day time, which you have to experience to believe. Great service from the staff, and the small sweets given at check in for tea time were a nice touch. Will return again next time!"Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Great safaris. VERY professional team"
"Great Safaris. Great guides, very good knowledge of the area, very respectful with the animals / environment. Tents were good and food at the camp was really amazing. Very friendly team, children loved them!!!"Samanea Beach Resort: "Peaceful, Green, Amazing Resort"
"Here is my review after my 2days, 1 night stay: Tuk-Tuk Pick Up =============== It was hard to estimated what time I will arrived in Kep from Sihanoukville. My transportation got delayed arrived in Kep, as I already mentioned my arrival time with the resort, they already had the tuktuk waiting for me at the bus/van station in Kep. I also informed that I will be delayed for an hour. When I arrived at the station, I was greeted by my tuktuk to bring me to the resort, I was really surprise he still waiting for me patiently despite of the delay. He was friendly. Journey from bus station to the resort, took about 3-4 minutes. Check-in / Lobby ================= When arrived at the resort, I was greet by the bell staff and he helped me with my luggage. It was really beautiful resort from the first impression I stepped out from the tuktuk. It is very green and the surrounding just calm and very relaxing. Myself then checked-in, it was smooth, and the reception is an open space. Nothing much, and they have like a lounge with a small library. It was good. Just for your info, here, there are only 12 villas, so it's a little privacy. After checked-in, the bell staffs helped me with my luggage and guide me to my villa. Deluxe Double Villa =================== When I arrived at my villa, it was breathtakingly gorgeous and spacious. The bed is super amazing and very comfortable and including the mosquito nett. It is like I am ready for my honeymoon, unfortunately I was here single. What I love is when I pull the blind of my glass window, and the green view pop up. It was really relaxing when you are on your bed while surrounded with the serene view. The TV area also great with with a big sofa. I love the office table area as here is where I done all my worked. If you can see, there are big fans near the office table as the room too spacious, the AC might not very cold. The drawer and cupboard also big. Inside they provided the insect spray as if you want to get rid of mosquitoes inside your villa. As its surrounded by the garden, some of mosquitoes might lost to your villa. Open Bathroom ============== What I love the most about this villa, its offering open bathroom. The bathroom is really huge. There are 3 ways to have your shower, first normal shower rain, second using the water big vase where you need to use traditional coconut dipper. And other one, of course the bathtub. The shower area is surrounded by the green plant and it is quiet relaxing when you are taking the dip in the bathtub, and enjoying the warm bath. But to be honest, it is quiet challenging to use the toilet in the middle of the night when you are staying alone. Breakfast ========= As for the breakfast, there are few menus you can choose. So I chose pancake, I also mentioned I do want any meat as they also offered bacon as a side dish. The waiter seems understand what I said, unfortunately, when my pancake arrived, it accompanied with bacon. So I asked them to remove the bacon and changing the new plate. So, the waiters here, a little bit struggle to understand English. As per photo, that's all my breakfast. Swimming Pool ============= Even this resort only offered 12 villas, but they have really huge swimming pool. You can do a view olympic lapse here if you want to. Unfortunately, I requested towel a few times with the staffs at the restaurant, but still I did not get any towel. At last, I backed to my villa in wet. In my opinion, their staffs need a lot to improve with communication skill and their services, as this resort, the guest is not as many as city hotel, if one person at one time, they can't handle, I am not very sure how they handle a large group. Hoping they can improve from time to time as the resort is amazing. Beach ====== Like I mentioned earlier, here is the only one resort with their own beach. You can enjoy the sea and view with a little privacy away from the touristic area. At the beach, there is barbecue facilities provided and massage hut, where you can have your massage at the beach with a sea view. The bonus is, here you can enjoy very beautiful sunset. And they have very long wooden bridge, I think is about 200m. It is really cool, reminded me with U Bein bridge in Mandalay, Myanmar. Location ======== It is about 3 minutes tuk tuk ride from bus station or Crab Market area, with the fare of 3USD. It's really a long walk from Crab Market (2km), but you can use the bicycle from the resort. At night, the road to the resort is really dark. Avoid to use bicycle or walk at the main road at night. Conclusion =========== Samanea Beach Resort is a little gems in Kep, Cambodia. If you are looking for a privacy, and romantic trips or family gateway, here is the best place for you! I would love to stay here again, but next time with my love one."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Maybe one of the best over the world"
"I stayed two nights at Four Rivers and it was a nice dream. This floating hotel is located in a beautiful jungle's river far away from everywhere. The rooms/tents are luxurious but not fancy. With private terrace over the river, you can swim in the fresh and clean water of Tatai's river. Also you can drink a beer while you're watching the jungle, the birds and the fishes. Food in 4 rivers is 5 stars and the staff also. Everybody is very professional and try to explain you everything about the jungle, the life in the nearest villages etc. They have many trips to discover the area. Don't miss the fireflies trip during the night, kayaking in the mangrove and the sunset cruise. So, everything is perfect in this ecolodge."Chakrabongse Villas: "Four nights in Bangkok, and we could not wish for a nicer hotel"
"This year I turned 60 and decided on a holiday in Thailand, of course I had to include Bangkok. I found this amazing small characterful place not far from the Royal Palace and Wat Pho. The staff are the most helpful I have come across on the holiday. The room is lovely, Moroccan in style, the Mali room, like home from home for me as I have a lot of Moroccan influence in my house. It is the best place of our holiday. The grounds are peaceful and well kept with a salt water swimming pool. There are wonderful small touches everywhere with orchids and water lilies. The dining area is in a pavilion next to the river with a view of Wat Arun. The food was excellent and the wine list very good. I would stay here every time in Bangkok. The staff are knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble."Sukoon Houseboat: "Beautiful, relaxing and top notch in every way"
Our whole crew stayed here whilst filming a documentary for ITV and we adored it. Such a beautiful boat, and set in gorgeous surroundings. Altaf and his staff were charming and attentive, and we would have loved to have stayed ALOT longer!Samanea Beach Resort: "Beautiful hotel"
"Samanea is a beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The grounds are immaculate and the gardens are perfectly kept. The pond is really lovely, and the swimming pool is excellent. The jetty and the boardwalk around the mangroves brings you closer to the sea and to nature. The bungalows are superb, with a separate lounge area and a nice indoor/outdoor bathroom. Not too many mosquitoes, which surprised me being close to so much natural water. Many guests are weekenders from Phnom Penh, so if you visit midweek you may even have the place to yourself. Staff very helpful. I also had no problem reducing the number of nights I'd booked when changed my travel plans. Areas for improvement: 1. Communication between managers and reception staff is poor. I needed to organise transport in several occasions, but constantly found myself having to start from the beginning each time I spoke to someone different. With the language barrier, this caused a problem more than once. 2. People have a habit of forgetting things! eg tuktuk pick-ups to take me to the bus station, forgetting to service the room one day, food items from the restaurant. 3. The restaurant could be better. Items out of stock one day after another, things missing from an order, breakfast not really explained very well (I'm still unsure what exactly is included in the room rate!), quality variable. Maybe it's because much of their business is done at weekends? 4. Wifi is very unpredictable. Similar hotels in many other countries/resorts could easily charge far more than the rates at Samanea and you wouldn't feel shortchanged, so, notwithstanding the things that could be improved on, Samanea gets 5 stars for being great value for money and having a very friendly bunch of staff always willing to help."Maisons Wat Kor: "A Small Piece of Paradise"
"Due to a relative which had stayed here last year, we decided to stay at Maisons Wat Kor during our 3 day visit to Battambang. What an excellent choice. It is located on the outskirts of Battambang in a quite neighborhood. If you need/want to go to down town it is only a 5 min. tuk tuk ride, but that said, there is no comparison to the experience at this gem of a place versus the hotels in the busier part of town. The hotel is a couple of years old and comprises only 12 rooms. The property is replete with beautiful plants and shrubs. The garden is incredible. We enjoyed nightly swims in their clean, comfortable pool. The rooms were well furnished. The bed was very firm, but comfortable. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They quickly attended to our every need. They arranged for bike rentals (great idea to see the local neighborhoods) and transportation to Phnom Penh Meals were served in the main house with the dining area being open to the garden area. The food was fresh and good and very nicely presented. This small hotel is intimate and charming, and a perfect place to stay."Dewakan: "A wonderful experience!"
It's my first time trying the modern Malaysian cuisine and it was amazing. Never knew that our local ingredients can be so versatile. Kudos to the chef team for their adventurous experiments. Full of surprises and I did enjoy all the new flavors dancing on my palate. Love the wine and fermented beverages pairing.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
