Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A luxurious end to our two weeks travelling in south India"

Review by: Professeurdefrancais | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent just two nights here to wind down after a very hectic two weeks. The staff are really lovely and the food great. One restaurant specialises in sea food but as we're vegetarians we ate only in the other one. I swam twice a day very early morning and at 6 30 pm when the pool and loungers were empty. We didn't want to use the pool or sunbathing area during the day - too hot and too busy. Breakfast taken in the open air facing the sea was great - we chose Indian food both times. The restaurant food both evenings was good but not spicy enough - even tho' we asked for fairly spicy. All the other guests were Westerners - apparently Indian families tend to stay later in the month after the school exam season is over. We borrowed the fairly rickety old bikes to cycle along the quiet village roads nearby and there's an extensive reading library to borrow books from. There's a resident tailor if you want to get any clothes made.To summarise - it's not real India and the wi-fi wasn't perfect but still worth five stars!

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Floating Paradise in the Jungle – Outstanding Service and Amazing Location"

Review by: Fiona C | Source: tripadvisor.com
"There are so many wonderful things about this hotel; the location, the staff, the activities, the atmosphere…. (…)The rooms are beautiful – poshest tent I have ever stayed in, and it really is floating – you can feel a gentle movement at night time and when people walk past – which I really liked. The people that work at the hotel and as trip guides are all mostly all from the local island opposite and surrounding village area which gave the whole experience a real charm. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful - it really was a perfect paradise. The hotel manager arranged our transport back to Phomn Penh for us (we opted for a shared VIP bus on the way back - which was $15 each and took about 5 hours). One of the members of staff waited with us in Tatai village until the mini bus arrived and loaded our bags etc… - truly exceptional and helpful service. One of the main highlights has to be waking up and diving straight into the river from your personal deck and also kayaking around the islands! This is an incredible experience not to be missed! "

The Island Lodge: "Just Perfect!"

"I stayed 2 nights with my family for a week end away from Saigon. Staff and owners are very nice and friendly. The restaurant provides good French food. The swimming is awesome. Room has a balcony with view to the river, you can see beautiful sunset. Thanks Michel and Françoise, we will come back..."

Talabgaon Castle: "Lovely secluded heritage hotel"

Review by: Jagoda_Buczak-Singh | Source: Trip Advisor
"Stayed for a night at the Talabgaon Castle with my husband. It was intended to be a night stop-over to break our road trip from Ranthambore to Delhi. But, to our surprise, it turned out to be so much more than comfortable beds and clean sheets. Although a little ways off the main highway (a few miles on a narrow village road), it was certainly worth the detour. A beautifully and functionally restored Rajasthani heritage property, the Talabgaon castle has comfortable and well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Large gardens with intimate seating areas (and, the main garden/lawn has a resident emu.....along with a few peacocks passing through), a nice swimming pool with ample sunbeds and a seating area, and a restaurant, offering both indoor and al fresco courtyard dining. Dinner was good with plenty of variety on the menu. The only two letdowns were the very limited choice and and taste of breakfast, and the TV (it was a small box TV with no channels). But, given the location and alternative ways to spend our time, we did not really miss the TV too much. And, are happy to give this property a 5 star rating and a recommendation of ""do visit""."

Reverie Siam Pai: "Colonial Style"

Review by: Dave J | Source: Trip Advisor
"The colonial styled hotel is set on the outskirts of Pai, but with a complementary buggy service into town. The grounds are well kept with lots of pathways around the resort. The river that runs through Pai passes the boundary of the hotel with rural views from the river. Very nice rooms situated around the gardens. There are two swimming pools and a smaller paddling pool for children. The breakfast is served and very leisurely. Rooms are large, very clean and tidy with all toilet requirements supplied. No mosquitos ! "

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A highlight of our trip"

Review by: 4alexnyc | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is definitely a highlight of our trip! Upon arrival, reception greets you by name and it just gets better from there. There are only six cottages on property which allows them to make each stay an amazing experience. Each cottage has a terrace. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. You can (and we did) end up spending most of our time in ours. Beds are comfortable and rooms make you feel that you are staying somewhere special. The hotel is also a teaching school for aspiring hospitality students and they go over the top to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Part of the money you spend goes to supporting the students and local community. In Feb, it does get cold at night so in addition to bringing warm PJs, the staff leaves bed warmers during the turn down service. Nice touch. It can get a bit noisy - during the day, you hear motorboats going back and forth along the water highway and at night, there are chanting monks (at least during Feb for some festival). It didn't bother us but that seems to be the only thing people complained about on TA. There are ear plugs available if it does bother you. Internet is barely working and best time to try is early morning however this appears to be the norm for this area. All in all, a really enjoyable experience and absolutely recommended. Room Tip: Book the cooking class!"

Mathis Retreat: "Charming Ubud resort !"

Review by: Phong1976 | Source: Trip Advisor
Back to this charming resort. Everything is magic, decoration, situation over a rice field and such a nice service. Special greeting to Karine the hotel manager who is a truly customer oriented person. Last but not the least, because we are in Bali also for food ... the Terra Cotta restaurant is just amazing, quality and tasty. We will come back again soon.

Mekong Villas: "Lazing by the Mekong"

Review by: Soph1605 | Source: Trip Advisor
I only stayed 1 night this time around but I really wanted to go back as I was in the area again. Once you enter the gate, you are in a secluded area, although the main road is just behind. The peacefulness that emanates from the grounds forces you to switch off. Not much to do at the property but that's the whole point: listen to nature around you, watch the life on the Mekong and just relax!!
