Rachamankha: "Beautiful hotel"
"What a quiet and serene place to stay. I stayed here in august 2015 while I was visiting Chiang Mai with my mother. The staff was great (however I think everyone in Thailand is great). The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The rooms and beds are great. It's more expensive than other places in Chiang Mai, but for good reason. I would visit definitely visit again."The Village House: "Rest and repose, eco-luxe style"
Have stayed here numerous times, never disappointed. Keep it up, Village House Team! Facilities are clean and spacious, quiet areas hidden away here and there for thinking or writing. Excellent food, and a pretty well-stocked recreational room. No children here, so the pool remains civilised at all times... Am looking forward to my next visit already...Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Quaint Resort"
Wonderful resort with picturesque view...away from city noise and busy life, you enjoy beauty of nature. On the shore of Arabian Sea the resort is very peaceful... spacious rooms with open courtyard bathroom , overlooking sea what else one can ask for. Cordial, friendly and efficient staff ... always smiling and ready to serve you . Variety of food not much but what they give you is all fresh, healthy and tasty. They have infinity pool almost connected with beach. Lot of greenery and different variety of flowers keep you happy. Onam festival was near so they did amazing flower decoration. If someone wants calm holiday then this is the perfect choice.Reverie Siam: "Simply the best"
My wife and I drove to pai which was fun and stayed at the reverie for one night and enjoyed it so much we kept extending until we had no choice and had to come home and stayed 4 nights in total. Best hotel I've ever stayed in and can't really find a single negative. Great value and if you waTiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Tranquility and service at its finest"
"I stayed at the lodge with my son and husband for three nights, and it was a highlight in our trip to Nepal. The location of the lodge is high in the mountains and away from the city. It is cooler than Pokhara City, peaceful, and the air is fresh. You will get to see magnificent views and its tranquility is simply inspiring. We stayed at cabin 7 and it was perfect for us in terms of privacy, space, and amenities. It has a balcony from where we could see the Annapurna Himalayas, beautiful sunrises, and get glimpses of birds, butterflies, and all kinds of insects (I got lulled to sleep by insect sounds in the evening). Our stay there was a relaxing pattern of glorious sunrises and sunsets (we were very lucky in this regard), nice but challenging hikes, and afternoons of reading, writing, chess and the Nepali game of “tiger and goats” (which the staff taught my son to play). We also enjoyed the pool (it is unheated but is a cool respite in the afternoon after our hikes), which has its own surreal view of Machapuchare and the Annapurna ranges. The staff members are wonderful. They are very attentive and accommodating and I really like how engaging they were with my son (who is 8 years old and very inquisitive). When my son found the library and the display it had, one of the staff kindly explained the specimens (e.g. snakes and insects) and tools (e.g. fish traps); and, I appreciate very much that the staff was quite knowledgeable (as affirmed during the hikes we had with him as our guide where he was able to tell us more about the people, places, flora and fauna, etc. in Nepal). You will definitely feel that Marcus and the staff members are doing their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. My family is vegetarian and one of the compromises we’ve long accepted when traveling pertains to food. However, the food we were served at Tiger Mountain Lodge was simply delectable! I cannot state this enough. Each dish was delicious and I went so far as to ask for a recipe from their kitchen. The juices were always fresh, the ingredients top-grade, and you know you’re not served anything from a can. Aside from the location, service and food, I also want to highlight their advocacy for responsible tourism and accountability to the community where they are (especially within the context of developing countries like Nepal). I am supportive of the various ways in which they lessen the impact they have on the environment (e.g. minimizing the use of water bottles, not using liquid shampoos, etc) and also how they are building relationships with locals and are taking part in improving people’s lives there. I would definitely recommend the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge to family and friends."Maison Polanka: "An oasis of calm in Siem Reap’s Disneyland"
"We stayed at Maison Polanka for the final four nights of a three-week tour to Vietnam and Cambodia. From the moment we arrived, the staff were charming and welcoming, and they could not have done anything more to make us at home during our all-too-brief stay. Any time we ventured out, there was invariably a warm smile and a cool, refreshing serviette awaiting our return. It felt not as though we were going back to the hotel, but rather, as though we were going back home. We were allocated the lovely Yellow Room, which was equipped with all we needed and very comfortable. Siem Reap has over 1,000 hotels, many of them seemingly large and impersonal, all lined up alongside each other and vying for business. Maison Polanka, situated in a quiet back street not far from the centre of town, has just five guest rooms, a beautiful open-air dining terrace, a beautiful swimming pool, and several bicycles, should one feel the urge to go out and explore. . We felt incredibly blessed to have landed up at this jewel. Staff addressed us by our first names, and absolutely nothing was too much trouble, including an impromptu staff choir and cake to celebrate my birthday! The food on the terrace was beautifully prepared, breakfast was a real treat, and when we went out early, a packed breakfast was beautifully prepared. We had enjoyed several lovely hotels in Vietnam, but this was an entirely different experience, and ended up being the icing on the cake! It was a personal service par excellence, where one always felt among friends. To really enjoy your stay in Cambodia, you can do no better than to head for Maison Polanka."Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "A master at work"
Chef Black is a true culinary master. His passion for food - from making his own soy sauces and spirits, to hand crafting seperate meals for all customers, is astonishing. Come visit this young virtuoso before the world comes knocking. Make sure to book in advance, and remember this is a small venue which would fit a max of 12 guestsDavid’s Kitchen: "Fantastic restaurant"
David's Kitchen is a superb restaurant offering exquisite French cuisine and absolutely top-notch service at an affordable price. From the beginning it was clear David and Prom play close attention to detail and do everything possible to provide a warm and personalized dining experience, greeting guests and treating us as friends rather than customers. Undoubtedly one of my best restaurant experiences all around.Satri House: "Very relaxing and charming"
My wife and is stayed Here for 9 days during July, and even the rainy season could not dampen our enjoyment. Satri house is so charming, relaxing, well run and very clean. The staff are very attentive and polite, the whole ambiance is very colonial, lush and elegant. Despite what others say it is only a very brief 5-10 minutes walk into the town. Simply wonderful..Glenburn Tea Estate: "Wonderful place"
"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nilima, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. Highly recommended."
