Reverie Siam: "Great botique hotel"
Great place to enjoy and relax, far from the town center but offers free on call tuk tuks all day long to and from the town center. Rooms are specious with amazing design. The staff is helpful and friendly. Nice breakfest- you get to choose one of 6-7 egg plates and one of 4 sweet dishes. The Hue House: "Very authentic"
"I love this place from the first visit. It has all the major Hue food, keeps its original taste, nice decor and surprisingly cheap. Try the following foods: 1. BUN BO Hue (Hue like beef - pig foot grain noodle) 2. BANH BEO TOM BAM (meaty shrimp cake) 3. BANH RAM DAU XANH (meaty gooey rice cake with natural bean) 4. CHE (sweet soup for desert, pick any from the menu) Cheers,"The River Resort: "An Amazing Resort…we will definitely return!"
My husband, son and I stayed at the River Resort and the hotel and their staff went above and beyond to accommodate us! It was quiet and serene! The food was great! The internet was strong and fast. They have two pools, spa, and rooms overlooking the Mekong. And to top it off they gave us complimentary spa treatments, a sunset cruise, a bottle of wine and provided us with free transport to Wat Temple. Lastly, the service and staff were exceptional! This place is great for singles, couples, or families. We can't wait to return!Amata Lanna: "Great place to stay"
the amata Lanna is a lovely boutique hotel with twelve beautifully furnished Lanna Thai rooms around a pool and courtyard. The location is close to the Ping river entertainment district, the Loi Kroh road and the night market. The staff are friendly and helpful and even delivered birthday cake to my room - unbidden - as they had noted the date on my passport when I checked in. Would definitely stay there again.tugu malang: "Great experience 5 stars hotel"

"It's easy to forget you're in a bustling city when staying at the Amata Lanna Chiangmai. We stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon in March and couldn't be more pleased with our choice. It's a beautiful, intimate property with a swimming pool (a necessity on hot days in Chiangmai!); an exceptionally warm and welcoming staff; and delicious, complimentary breakfast each morning. Be sure to try the mango sticky rice -- it's the best we had in Thailand! Wi-Fi is free and works very well at this hotel, too. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Manukan Island Resort: "Charming villas with great staff"
"We stayed for one night in a beachside villa. Staff encountered were all very friendly and professional. Upon check in we were shown to our room, given a welcome tea and a friendly introduction to the room and facilities on the island. The room itself was so charming - spacious, well laid out, clean and very comfortable all round with beach towels and thongs provided and a cute little balcony overlooking the beach, it suited the environment perfectly and you really couldn't ask for anything more. We were warned that they switch generators several times a day and as such we may experience power disruptions but this was very minimal. The outside breakfast buffet was okay, we did notice insects crawling over some of the breads. Dinner, although the menu was somewhat limited, was really lovely with tables and fairy lights set up next to the beach complete with three musicians performing songs for every table - very romantic. Most of the many tourists on day trip leave the island by 4pm and after this you can really appreciate and enjoy the environment you are in as during the day it is not as pleasant, crowded and noisy. The walk to Sunset Point was a highlight though the pagoda there doesn't offer the best view - continue down the small path to the rocks, very serene. We had an earlyish flight to catch on the day of our departure and the staff were happy to ensure an early boat back to KK was made available to us. We were offered a friendly farewell and as we boarded our boat and were about to depart, a staff member ran out to return a power cable we had accidentally left behind in our room which was much appreciated. If you are planning on visiting Manukan Island we would recommend staying at this resort - very enjoyable and well managed and you are able to experience the island without the daily crowds."Muang La Lodge: "A magical experience in Northern Laos"
"We have been fortunate to travel to many wonderful places with wonderful experience but I must say our recent stay at Muang La Resort rates among two that felt magical. The attractive designed buildings and immaculate green grounds set smack dab beside the Nam Pak (river) in this little valley beside the Muang La village is an idyllic spot for a vacation. From the moment we were welcomed by the general manager and staff with a welcome beverage and snack, to our beautiful and comfortable rooms and the delicious meals - we so enjoyed our stay here. Since traveling with our high-school aged son we booked two adjacent rooms at the edge of the property which overlooked the Nam Pak. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed walking to the dining area (covered but open to beautiful views of the river and surrounding hills) as there is well cared for lawns and tropical plants. The meals were delicious, from several choices for breakfast to the gourmet fusion dinners. We found every staff member to be friendly and attentive to our requests and needs. You could lounge at the Resort property and thoroughly enjoy yourself - we chose to experience it all, from the infinity pool on the island in the middle of the Nam Pak (complete with pool bar and snack service - recommend the Lao Mojito and Khamu Blue), to the hot spas (both the resorts's private dip and the very hot community spa shared with the village)... the steam room was a treat for the nose and sinuses with a mixture of lemongrass and other herbs). We rode available bikes to the Khamu village across the river and also took several excursions with the arranged guide Don. Loved the mountain bike ride along the rice paddies to the local villages and through town. The 4-wheel drive adventure to the Hmong village and through the forest to climb the rock overlooking the valley was an amazing and exhilarating journey, but the biggest impact on us was walking through the villages and interacting with the people - such kind and warm people who willingly shared their life with us. Getting to Muang La Resort requires dedication (for us, a 5-hour van ride from Luang Prabang) - but so much worth it. This stay really gave us a feel for the warm-hearted people of Southeast Asia. Thank you to the management and staff of Muang La for a perfect stay - memories we will treasure!"Tugu Malang: "Historic and romantic stay"
"I had a very memorable stay in this beautiful hotel full of antiques. I dressed in my traditional Javanese outfit and Roberto shared with me the stories of the hotel and art pieces. We toured the spectacular Presidential Suite and all the halls and pavilions. The various rooms in the restaurant are full of amazing drawings reproducing old precious photos of prominent figures in history. Wood panels reproduces religious subjects from Asia and beyond. They all create an eclectic atmosphere of luxury and well travelled. (...) The highlight of each day was meeting Barry, Elaine and Rosemary from Australia and having tea and sweets at the hotel while chatting about travels and lives. Thank you to Roberto and John for taking care of me and would love to return again."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
