The Island Lodge: "The Reason to Visit the Mekong Delta"
This is a beautiful property with amazing staff and service! The room was very clean, modern and spacious. The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, the spa was great, and the property pristine. The owner, Michel, reached out to us directly after we made our reservation and offered transfers from Ho Chi Minh City and back at a reasonable price, which made logistics easy. Michel and his wife, Francoise, also greeted us upon arrival, adding a nice personal touch to our stay. We highly recommend taking advantage of some of the activities offered by the Island Lodge - we did the Seven Bridges Bicycle Tour and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Vietnam. But stay away from My Tho proper, the city really has nothing to offer; just enjoy the lodge, the island, and the river instead. If you are traveling to the Mekong delta, I cannot imagine a better place to stay than the Island Lodge - simply amazing.Slow Villas and Spa: "7 days of paradise"
Gili Air is itself already a special place, however, if you stay at Slow Villa this will give you the last notch to perfection. The villa itself is very well organized with private pool, massive private garden, lovely villa and beautifully designed interior. The stuff was great even at peak breakfast hours and also for special arrangements like bbq of the fish we caught in the morning. The staff is more than helpful in giving you tips in terms of restaurants, bars, activities, organizing travel arrangements, etc. In a pretty short time you get a good impression about the island itself and the other accommodation and I can without any doubt say that Slow Villa is definitely the best place to stay on Gili Air. And on top of the aforementioned I love the fact that the people behind Slow Villa also care about environmental and social responsibility. Chapeau and keep going!!!The Village House: "Super!"
Me and my wife stayed there for 3 days, the first days of our honeymoon. It was one of the best accommodation of our Malaysian trip, it was super! Very relaxing and quiet! The staff was very helpful and the food is very good. The room is simple but very cool and romantic, the bath clean and... most of all you're in the jungle We recommend it! ;-)David’s Kitchen: "A Highlight of Our Trip"
Food: Delicious! I ordered an Asian dish (seared tuna with lemon grass) and my friend ordered a European dish (braised meat on potato mash with heavenly gravy), and both were SCRUMMY! We also got the flight of soups -- YUM! The squash soup and the pea soup were especially bright and flavorful -- I say this as someone who usually won't order either on a normal night. The lobster bisque was full of lobster (which is oddly not a given in my experience). David is an expat Brit and a charmer. Lovely man! He stopped by our table throughout the night, extolling stories about the family recipes behind his signature dishes, as well as his own mind-blowing travel experiences. The reservation page is a breeze, and best of all it asks if you'd like transportation to take you to and from the restaurant, which in a click brought a car to our hotel lobby at reservation time and made travel to the restaurant effortless. (We all agree the travel option on the reservation page is brilliant.) We will be back!!Tandjung Sari: "The Tandjung Sari – Beautiful Visit . . . Again!"
I stayed here about 30 years ago. The Tandjung Sari has lost none of its charm. I came back with my wife and we had had such an enjoyable time. Of course everything around the Tandjung Sari has changed, but this place is pretty much as I remember it, which is a good thing. Staff is friendly and professional. The food is excellent. Breakfast near the pool is pleasant. Several choices and it is part of your room rate. The bar on the beach still serves amazing cocktails. The rooms were spacious and I enjoyed the outdoor shower. They have great entertainment on the weekend too. This is not an inexpensive place to stay, but it is well worth a few dollars more! I cannot wait to go back again. Hopefully it will not be another 30 years!Maduzi Hotel: "Excellent stay"
"Stayed in the Maduzi hotel for 3 nights. I love it. Everything about the room is amazing. Very spacious, comfy bed, jacuzzi, make-up area, separated space to put my luggage. All in very good condition. Wifi works well. Very helpful staff. The location is great too with 5 mins walk to T21 or Asok station or the MRT. No hesitation to stay here again."Sukoon Houseboat: "SIMPLY the BEST"
I returned here in 2016 for another week because I had stayed the previous year and I couldn't wait to get back. This must be THE BEST LUXURIOUS houseboat on Daal Lake with the most attentive staff.Breakfast on the roof is what travelling worth saving our time and money for. Lunch and Dinner are carefully prepared. The ambience of the Houseboat, its architecture ,its setting on the furthermost quiet part of the lake and all the wonderful staff are well worth venturing to this amazing part of the world for an experience that will stay with you in your most unique travel memories.David’s Kitchen: "Sublime"
I assumed any restaurant in Thailand called David's would be french considering. I was a bit surprised when I met David as he met us at the door. I won't let my expectations ruin yours. He was so delightful on so many levels. But that was was just the meet and greet. The waiting staff were absolutely fantastic. Their english was wonderfu and the service was very very pleasantl. But the food. The food was fantastic.I would have to rate this as one of the best meals of my life. From the moment it starts to the end, everything is just little bits of perfection. I would dearly dearly love to live just down the road.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Luxury on a remote jungle river"
"A four hour drive from Phnom Penh then a 25 minute boat journey brings you to a beautiful floating hotel on the Tatai River. Our first glimpse made us all go ""ahhhhh!"" The 5 star tents on pontoons are anchored on pristine waters alongside palm fringed jungle and it was everything we hoped it would be. Evenings on our private deck were stunning, diving into clean cool water from our own spot and even a visit from a few fireflies one night as we sat outside was a magical experience! The staff are fantastic as are the tour guides. We had a sunset cruise, jungle trekking (with an ex-poacher who now uses his skills guiding tourists) and a visit to the small village on the island across the river with one of the staff who lives there, to see village life up close. Beautiful meals, attentive service by every member of staff. Definitely worth the trip to unwind in tropical luxury"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Magic place"
Sandat is really our kind of experience, exclusive tents beautifully designed and decorated, off beat location, far from the crowd, very warm staff who played with our daughter, 2 and half years old who enjoyed so much, great breakfast, a Must in Ubud !
