Babe: "Food with a view"
"It seems that wherever one is in Kuala Lumpur the Petronas Towers are in sight none more so than at Babe. A spectacular view from the restaurant across the city includes these landmarks, lit up at night they make a stunning backstop. The food is an interesting take on tapas in a Japanese style, it works perfectly. Well balanced, subtle and elegant. The service is attentive and informative. We chose one of the desgustation menus and enjoyed one of the best evening's dining ever."Inle Princess Resort: "Beautiful and quiet lake site resort"
"We arrived at the resort by boat from Nyaung Shwe. Some 100 m from the hotel, motors are no longer allowed. A rower came on board and leg-paddled us to the jetty. This exemplifies the resort's emphasis on quiet and relaxation. Our cottages were on the lake. From the terrace, the sunsets were beautiful. Our room had binoculars provided for bird watching. A spa with a massage menu, bicycle rentals, and a swimming pool rounded out the offerings. Breakfast and dinner on a sundeck were tasty and included a sampling of local and Shan cuisine. I highly recommend the resort. Room Tip: Lakeside cottages were private and delightful."Rachamankha: "just SUPERB"
"this Home is a real secret adress you are right in heart of the old city of chiang Mai location cant be better, closed to all the major temples and activities! the building is so charming we were like a beautiful naste our room , number 24/25 was so spacious , cosy , confortable and with a beautiful decoration and so peaceful the pool is perfect , massage so good even if they dont have their own therapist they call them from outside the food so good really nothing to say just go and enjoy it !"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Total relaxation (plenty to do if you want it?!) therapy for body and soul"
"From the moment I arrived, climbed out of the boat and waded ashore, I felt I had landed in some parallel universe. I was met, in the water!, by Massi (the general manager) who makes every effort to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. The Baans are all different in size and style. I stayed in Tarntawan which is perfect for the solo traveller. The room has a comfortable bed with mosquito net, fridge/minibar and tea/coffee making facility. Housekeeping was very efficient and kept everything beautifully clean. The restaurant offers a great balance of casual yet elegant dining. Buffet style breakfast offers a good selection with a fabulous choice of beverages and green teas. There was generally plenty of choice for dinner - I am vegetarian and can honestly say I have never found it easier to eat well, with quality local dishes. I felt food and drinks - a great choice of juices, shakes and cocktails - were reasonably priced (wine is expensive but this is Thailand, not France!). The beaches are stunning, I walked the 10km stretch without seeing another person. The water is really warm and offers safe swimming. I snorkelled a few times but there's not a great deal to see. However, snorkelling trips are available to other islands. Yoga is available twice daily, I did the morning session. A big 'thank you' to Alex who I found to be a great teacher. This totally unspoilt island nurtures the wildlife which is fascinating - beautiful birds and butterflies, and monkeys doing their thing! I stayed for a little over 2 weeks and I loved every minute. My first week coincided with half term and there were a few small children ( it's a good destination for a young family). During the day I just never seemed to see them but they could be a bit much in the evening. You'd think that, with dinner being served until 9.00pm, the parents of infants would eat earlier and be more considerate to both the other guests and their own children! However, this was such a minor issue in the whole scheme of things. The massages are great, lovely at the end of the day. Everyday, I felt privileged just to be at Golden Buddha beach - it was all I could have wished for. A huge thank you to Massi and a great staff team. I can't recommend it highly enough. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"The Hue House: "Excellent"
Good food and great service. We went there twice i.e. on the first day that we arrived Ho Chi Minh and on the last day that we left HCM city. Everything was just perfect!Maison Polanka: "Luxury and pracefulness"
My wife and I visited in March and stayed in the separate room beside the dining and pool area. The service was excellent, as were the facilities. The staff were always helpful and we always felt we were returning to a luxurious retreat every time we came back from a day of temples and walking in the heat. We would happily stay again.Rachamankha: "Secret Retreats"
We are so glad choosed Rachamankha for our stay in Chiang Mai, such a elegant and heritage hotel. When arrived hotel, at first sight we thought we are passing by a temple, but its the hotel!! Just from the entrance we have been wowed. Architecturally is fusion of Thai and Chinese. Along the way we can see the landscape such as pine tree obviously growth in a chinese aesthetics way and the architectural pattern similar like Chinese quadrangle courtyard(四合院), but just a turn to another way, we can clearly recognize stong feature of northern thai style, and both are combined harmoniously. Many pantings and art collection you can find anywhere in the hotel, further more above the restautant there is a gallery of the owner. Room was smaller than what I expect, but nicely decorated with chinaware, very classic wardrobe, made me feel pass through to acient, just can't stop take photo of it. Superior room only provide standing shower and its fixed shower head which I feel a bit out dated, amenities is excllent, my partner love the smell made from thai herbs. I will definetly return to Rachamankha when next visit to Chiang Mai, and recommend to my family and friends. The Hue House: "Áwesome dining experience"
super delicious foods, beautiful rooftop settings, lovely attentive staff... a wonderful luncheon experience... Will definitely be back!Cuca: "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for me"
Was wondering where to eat in Bali, i know there are so many sorts of restaurants everywhere and some a just a letdown....so wife recommended why don't we try Cuca, since some of her friends said good things about it. Since we are staying in Uluwatu, so it was not that far for us to get over there. We arrived slightly over 2pm and the restaurant was empty, i asked my wife are you sure this place is good? We were greeted and showed to our table...each table is separated by a curtain for privacy, so we decided to choose the table closest to the full view of the kitchen. Everyone was busy, apparently there is a close event that night. So we were the only guest. Our waitress was this pleasant looking girl that was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We decided to try the tasting menu, i think was about 7 sharing courses. I won't go through the menu, you have to come and try it out for yourself...my only verdict is "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for us"Amata Lanna: "Hidden paradise"
"2 minutes walk from a charming river temple, this wonderful traditional thai-sytle hotel on two storeys is highly recommendable, to say the least. Set around a beautiful inner courtyard dominated by a large frangipani tree with star-shaped white flowers which fall from time to time into an oval swimming pool, you can sit and relax after a long day's sightseeing, contemplate the early morning over a delicious partially outdoor breakfast among huge ferns and thai garden ornaments, or sit and sip beer or free lemon-grass tea in the evening by the swimming pool with the trees lit up around you. The rooms, set around the courtyard, are spacious with 4-poster beds and thai furniture. If you want more light, go for the upper floor, but you are destined probably from all rooms to see the greenery from the windows. I thought the staff could have become my personal friends the way they were so personable. They had two bicycles that were for lending without charge and transport free to the airport in at least one direction. One night I got back very late and didn't want to go out on the dark streets alone, so I suggested getting a couple of mangoes to the night staff from the mango bowl in the reception area. Since they never charged me for this, the least I can do is write a review! To make one request for improvement I would ask for mosquito nets on at least one window in the hotel rooms so that you can enjoy the evening air in your own room in the cooler months without the risk of insects coming in. However, this is not probably a feature in many thai hotels, including all top hotels, as most people these days just want the air conditioning, which of course this hotel has."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
