Slow Villas and Spa: "A little piece of heaven on earth"
"Slow Villas is simply stunning! We stayed here for 4 nights and had an amazing experience. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all we needed, the bed is super comfortable (we loved the blanket!) and the kitchenette a nice little extra. We also enjoyed, that the water in the open-air bathroom is not only hot - it is also absolutely not salty (rare on the Gili islands). The staff is nice, the breakfast choice stunning and the private pool and garden are true gems. We loved it - we will be back! Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Friendly, beautiful and excellent"
"We went in the month of June to this resort. It was monsoon time. whatever people say we love travelling in the monsoon. The beauty of the countryside is seen during this season. The manager of the place we stayed was very friendly on the phone while we checked on availability and proved more so on meeting. Room was lovely a large bedroom with an semi-open bathroom. Eco-friendly place. Food was sea food which was excellent with choice of chicken and mutton. The menu for each day was fixed and had enough variety to satisfy everyone. Swimming pool overlooks the sea and quite beautiful. Our kids enjoyed the pool even when it rained. We could walk out into the private beach though the sea was stormy given the monsoon. The staff was friendly and courteous. The resort is non-smoking but i did catch a fellow guest smoking. Books to read. No liquor other than beer and wine so if you drink carry your booze. All in all a great visit."Amata Lanna: "Wonderul, intimate, getaway!"
Gorgeous space. Very well decorated. The rooms are AMAZING, with wonderful furnishings. Very beautiful space that feels like a tropical resort even though you're in the middle of a big city! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!Tugu Bali: "A slice of Heaven"
"The great service started at the airport when we met our smiling driver Dewo! Had no idea how crazy the streets around Bali could be and was thankful to be driven by a local :) We arrived at Hotel Tugu mid evening to a beautiful lights and warm atmosphere and friendly welcome and shown to our beautiful charming room - we had a family suit with inter leading doors and a GREAT bath! We loved all our time at Tugu and am just sorry not to have tried out all their ""experience"" suggestions - next time dinner on the beach! This was out first trip to Bali and we could come back here - we had a drive over to the South Kuta side and although they have nicer beaches we felt the intimate setting of Tugu so much nicer than the sprawling mass hotel feel of somewhere like Ayodya! Breakfast could be eaten at the pool or dining area overlooking the ocean and the kids loved the banana pancakes. We all loved the food at the Japanese restaurant on site and had fun exploring the area up to Echo Beach and LOVED the visit to Tanah Lot (best at high tide for photos). Driving anywhere takes a lot of time so it was lovely to be able to have a good choice of things to do (surfing lessons, swimming, cooking etc) right on the doorstep. LOVED this place!"Mrauk U Princess Resort: "A lush oasis in a dusty town"
"The Mrauk U Princess Resort is a lovely property and a wonderful place to retreat to after a long day of sightseeing and visiting the incredible and unspoiled historic temples in Mrauk U. Mrauk U itself is a dusty and bustling town and the temples are worth the long trip. The hotel arranged for a car to meet us at the Sittwe Airport for a three-hour drive and we availed ourselves of a peaceful ride back to Sittwe on one of the hotel's large motorboats. The five-hour journey included an excellent lunch and was an enjoyable way to see the riverfront views and a peaceful way to travel. The hotel is comprised of a number of authentic villas created completely by hand of carved teak in the local style. Furnished with local fabrics and decor, each is a mix of modern conveniences and Rakhine authenticity. There's also a unique swimming pool, set down in the middle of a pond. The dining facilities, bar and public accommodations are spacious and the very helpful and friendly staff anticipates your every need. The food is excellent and the spa offers a full range of massage and other services. The hotel arranged an excellent guide and tour of the historic temples by Tuk Tuk as well as home-made croissants and coffee at dawn on the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise over the mountains. Getting to Mrauk U takes some time, but it's definitely worth the trip. The Mrauk U Princess is a wonderful and welcoming retreat and is highly recommended."Mie Cafe: "Best restaurant in siem reap"
We stayed at the city for 3 days and loved the restaurant so much that we travelled far to the restaurant for the second time only to find that it was an off day for them. I'll definitely come back if I had the chance to visit siem reap again.Reverie Siam: "Sophisticated and stunning without being pretentious"
We loved our stay at the Reverie Siam. We took advantage of their free shuttle into town for night life which was easy and convenient. We also rode bike and also rented motorbikes to get to out of town adventures. It was always so nice to return to the tasteful serenity of the property. The details are just wonderful. We also appreciated a well executed menu and wine selections. What a wonderful getaway.Cuca: "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for me"
Was wondering where to eat in Bali, i know there are so many sorts of restaurants everywhere and some a just a letdown....so wife recommended why don't we try Cuca, since some of her friends said good things about it. Since we are staying in Uluwatu, so it was not that far for us to get over there. We arrived slightly over 2pm and the restaurant was empty, i asked my wife are you sure this place is good? We were greeted and showed to our table...each table is separated by a curtain for privacy, so we decided to choose the table closest to the full view of the kitchen. Everyone was busy, apparently there is a close event that night. So we were the only guest. Our waitress was this pleasant looking girl that was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We decided to try the tasting menu, i think was about 7 sharing courses. I won't go through the menu, you have to come and try it out for yourself...my only verdict is "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for us"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Charming Mansion"
"My experience at the Blue Mansion was pleasant from start to end. The staff was very welcoming, courteous, and polite. Our room was very spacious, clean, and included little snacks and juices. Walking through the mansion's dimly lit walkways, having the fresh air outside your door, and admiring the architecture and detail of the decor add to a majestic feel I appreciated while staying in Penang. The included breakfast was very well prepared and the staff always accommodating. I would no doubt stay at the Blue Mansion the next time I'm in Penang. Stayed November 2016, traveled with family"muang la: "So glad we chose to stay here"
"When we were looking for a place to get away from the standard visitor locations in South east Asia, this resort was proposed as an option. One of the best decisions we made on the holiday. It takes some effort to get there but it really is worth it. It is such a tranquil location, by the river with great settings for meals, the pool on the island. The rooms are excellent and the service from the staff first rate. They truly aim to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Language is a barrier at times but we were more than ok with this as given it's location this type of resort must, as it does, put a lot back to the community. The food was of a high standard and the 5 course tasting menu for dinner really suited us. High quality food and allowing you to try dishes we wouldn't normally try. What probably added the extra touch for us though were the day trip options provided. If you enjoy walking and want to see how village life in this part of Laos is, then this is perfect. With a local guide we learned so much about the culture and were able to very naturally engage with people in the villages. Relaxing in the resort after each day made for a great balance. Muang La was a real highlight of our holiday. I thoroughly recommend it. "
