Bassac Cruises: "A “must-do” to really see the Mekong in style"
We took the one night cruise on Bassac 2. The programme is lunch and afternoon cruise, visit to local village, dinner and evening cruise to anchorage, breakfast and morning cruise to disembarkation point with visit to floating market and noodle making. For us this was a perfect itinerary and duration and a great insight into life in this enormous and important area of Vietnam. The food, particularly lunch was fantastic. Continental breakfast also had hot food. The boat is a joy with plenty of seating space even though the boat was full. The guide, An, was brilliant.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Dream away"
Incredible vistas; waking up for a swim to the nearby island by jumping in the river; safe environment in the midst of a jungle; amazing holiday for an affordable price... must pass if you visit Cambodia! A unique place and something you will remember for as long as you will live and that's an understatement!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Priceless views and amazing service"
"You will feel like you have entered a different world altogether when you arrive at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Firstly, you are treated to the most amazing views, which you never tire of even after spending days in Nepal. The Annapurna range in all its glory can be truly appreciate from the lodge, and you are not to miss the stunning picture opportunity of the mountain reflection on the infinity pool. The lodge itself is very comfortable and relaxing, you can do as much or as little as you like. The staff are incredibly attentive - each and every one of them. Marcus, the resort MD is so warm and friendly and so knowledgeable when it comes to Nepal, and most other things that it makes for a very wonderful stay all around. I would love to return soon, next time perhaps with the entire family when it is winter and there is good excuse to sit in the common area around the fire :) Best, Pramila"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Reminiscent of the Raj"
"I visited the Estate in May 2015 for a week with my family. The welcome drink at the airport and Break at a scenic location overlooking the confluence of 2 rivers with tea, muffins, sandwichs served in typical English style were a delight and set tone for a very different vacation. The Estate (1600 Acres, i was told) is nestled on a hill top and the view is just incredible. We managed to see the Kanchanjunga for 15 minutes on the day we came and thereafter, it remained cloudy during our stay The Food is very good, the tea is on demand (u can order any type u want.. n number of times) and the dinner is a formal sit down affair in the dining hall. They have a log house at the riverside .. the drive, fishing and food again is worth the time. For the excursions to city etc, u get a Scorpio with a driver, attendant in proper uniform who takes care of the food, water, logistics, toy train tickets, etc... u dont need to move a finger. Everything taken care of .. professionally. Visit their tea factory .. nice place to see how tea is made. All in all ... a great place to sit back, get pampered, enjoy the view, have tea and realise that you have been drinking apology of a tea all this time. Fantastic place ... great staff. Oh .. yes .. they still use cutlery from England."Tugu Bali: "Wow hidden Jem in Canggu"
A must check out for excellent service & food combined with traditional architecture “As good as it gets !” . We found this hotel in Canggu Bali 18mths ago and returned to re visit this fabulous hotel. Sumptuous decor of the traditional Balinese type. Idyllic garden pool area just by the beach . A haven of tranquility and delight in the hustle & bustle on Canggu. Nothing is too much trouble. Check out their Balinese Dance Evening Thursday’s .... will be back !Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A special experience"
This was I think my favourite hotel ever. It is beautiful, it is well run, it is well-located, its existence is crucial to the history and culture of Penang. The restoration is superb. It was a joy and privilege to stay here.Jing’s Residence: "You must stay here!"
"It's beautiful. really. The rooms and courtyards and hotel lobby. All done excellently. The restaurant is beyond fantastic. We had two dinners there (they were included in the package we selected). It's a fixed menu and each dish was superb. My girlfriend, who is Chinese, said each dish really captures the essence of Chinese cooking with a subtle balance of tastes. It's quiet. We were in the back of the hotel (and there were few other guests). We were able to sleep with our window next to the bed open for natural cooling. The hotels offers a free transfer from the railway station and its centrally located in the ancient city, but far enough away from the tourist area not to be noisy or crowded. It is only a 3 minute walk along East street to get to the main intersection with South street. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. English mastery varies person to person, but it is easy to communicate."David’s Kitchen: "Must try in Chiang Mai"
Davids Kitchen is located 15 mins drive from the old town, but it definitely worth a visit if you are in Chiang Mai and for special occasion. You would be amazed by the garden when you first arrive. The food is fantastic and staffs would give you great recommendation if you are not sure what to order. David was also in the restaurant and making sure every guest is enjoying the dinner. We also got a little sweet surprise at the end of the dinner. Would definitely come again.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Good food. Nice breezy balcony"
The food and beer was good. It was a spacious getaway from the crowded streets. Get their salads. Sit on the balcony at sunsetMuang La Lodge: "Idyllic Setting"
"This property is magical. It is a small boutique property offering outstanding service. While the English of some of the staff is limited, Rafael or one of his assistants is always there to make sure you have what you need and to make sure you have an outstanding experience. The guide Rafael arranged for our trip to visit surrounding villages was the best of our Lao trip. The breakfast and dinner were both top notch. Innovative, high quality really good food. The hotel also offers a hot spring, spa and private island with swimming pool. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
