Satri House: "Lovely oasis in Luang Prabang"

Review by: NeilC5 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Satri House for 3 nights at the end of our Laos trip. The hotel rooms are beautifully refurbished and full of antiques (and have modern showers & A/C!). Rooms fumigated every night too to get rid of mosquitos. Lovely pool to relax in and little poolside bar. Free bikes on offer to explore the city and the staff are very helpful in arranging / suggesting places to visit and restaurants. No TVs in the room help relax and adjust to the pace of life! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"

Heritage Suites: "Undoubtedly one of the best hotels in the country"

Review by: addictedtotravel2015 | Source: Trip Advisor
"What a wonderful experience. Starting from the moment I arrived, till I left I was made to feel like I was royalty or even better. Being welcomed with a cold towel and a lovely drink was the perfect welcome after a long drive. Upon arrival the reception explained that there was going to be a party in the lobby that evening and therefore some noise transfer, hence they had upgraded me to a bungalow. And what an upgrade. This bungalow was absolutely magnificent, possessing it's own sauna and small garden. The room was comfortable and super spacious and could well have served as someone's home. The swimming pool was delightful, a comfortable temperature and the whole area was peaceful and somewhat of an oasis after a day of temple hopping. Breakfasts were of the highest calibre, with the most wonderful selection of pastries as standard, followed by orders from the menu. There was something for everyone and absolutely no way someone could go hungry. Everyday, upon returning from sightseeing, I was greeted by name and given a cold towel. It was these nice touches that stand out compared to many other luxury hotels. When I came to check out, I asked if I could use a shower on returning from my sightseeing and before my flight to London. Instead of just offering me a shower in the spa, I was offered the use of the room free of charge until 6pm that evening. I appreciate that the hotel was not too busy, but even so they did not have to do that, and it was very much appreciated. Their efforts to make me welcome will live long in the memory. Whilst I only stayed for two nights I had a fantastic time at the hotel, all capped off by the wonderful service. I could have stayed much longer."

Tugu Bali: "Bali Transcendent"

Review by: Bret M | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a wonderful hotel. The Tugu brand is well known in Indonesia for its sense and mix of history, local culture and design. Not to mention excellent food and understated but attentive service. This property has those attributes in spades. The Tugu Bali is perfect for people that like luxury and privacy and interesting, crusty surroundings - at a reasonable price I might add. Don't even think about staying here if you are into 5 stars and chrome and marble and buffet restaurants and big gyms and concierges that can get you into Mozaic or the Oasis Beach Club bikini parties on short notice - because you will hate it here. It is located, by the way, in Canggu, which was a sleepy place when the hotel opened, but is now the hippest area in Bali. Being surrounded by hip has its disadvantages, but also advantages - for example, the Tugu is opposite the best bar in Bali (possibly in Indonesia) and just down the road from one of the world's best seafood restaurants. Fortunately, Tugu guests are immune to the disadvantages (hipster crowds, beach clubs, bad restaurants, noise). The rooms here are oases - I know this is a cliche in hotel-speak, but it happens to be true in this case. In our room here, we were beautifully cocooned and felt entirely isolated from the rest of the world in the best possible way. Our small private garden and plunge pool were green and perfect. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. And I have never have thought of a bathroom as being sexy until I saw our bathroom in room 109. The common areas are also lovely. Big and spectacular in the case of the wood-pavilion-ed lobby, small and cool in the case of the pool, expansive and comfortable in the case of the beach-side garden. The service is great - the way I like it at least. Unobtrusive, but ever present. Bali is an ecosystem with deep wells of cultural fascination and mystery. If you want to immerse yourself in this Bali for a few days (not the boring Bali of Nusa Dua, or the Bali of cheap clothes and cheap beer and self-conscious bistro restaurants in Kuta and Seminyak), but not travel all the way to the north or east of the island, the Tugu Hotel is about the best compromise I know"

misool: "Beyond beautiful"

Review by: CapeMayMarsha | Source: tripadvison.com
"As a long time diver in the Caribbean and the Great Barrier Reef, I was amazed at the diversity and abundance of the: soft and hard corals, the fish, sharks, nudibranchs, clams, starfish, mantas etc at Misool. The colors are amazing. I had to remind myself that the reefs were real and not computer generated. Everywhere you looked there was a different coral and an unfamiliar fish/animal. We stayed in a Water Cottage built above the water on stilts. Each night we slept to the sound of water rippling against the pilings, in a very comfortable king size bed surrounded by a canopy of mosquito netting. There were few mosquitos near us though others reported some. Food is abundant, delicious, amazingly varied and served family style so you get to know everyone there. You walk along boardwalks surrounded by flowers to diving, presentations and the dining area. We felt pampered our entire time at Misool, by the diving staff, the kitchen and wait staff, house staff, the management and the astounding beauty of the place. Equally impressive is the work the owners of Misool do protecting the reefs, providing jobs / job training and education to the community. The beauty and health of the reefs at and around Misool is do in large part because of the work that Misool does in protecting the reef with it's ""no take"" zone, employing local men to patrol and monitor fishing, as well as the recycling programs that keep the waters clean and also teach the children about the value of their ocean. Misool is a very special place, most of the people who were diving with us were returning because they love it. We also hope to return. "

Locavore: "Worth every Rupiah"

Review by: VertigoBoys | Source: Trip Advisor
On the top of our foodie list for Ubud was Locavore. Be sure to make a reservation and spend the xtra $ for the beverage package, which is carefully curated to enhance every bite of food. Not only does this team create art on a plate, but they have employed the best of Ubud..local ingredients + knowledgeable friendly staff = 1st class experience!!

Villa Song Saigon: "gorgeous place to stay"

Review by: Sarah d | Source: Trip Advisor
"we stayed in this lovely hotel for a long weelend whilst visiting hcmc. we absolutely loved it. the hotel manager took the time to meet us personally and welcome - though there was a wedding reception that first night, we did not at any time feel disturbed or a lack of service. to compensate for the inconvenience, we were offered dinner or a taxi ride to wherever we wanted to go for dinner. absolutely great. the hotel has an own shuttle service by blat to the city and this is awesome. the boat leaves in front of the hotel and drops u off in the middle of the city centre. great service. some might say its not close to the city centre, but with the boat shuttle, this hotel clearly makes up for it - but not only that - overall, i believe its the best place to unwind after a day in the hectic city of ho chi minh. Rachamankha: "Beautiful retreat!"

Review by: Thomas W | Source: Trip Advisor
This hotel is a beautifully designed tranquil retreat situated within the old city walls of Chaing Mai. When I say beautifully designed, I mean exceptional to the extent that you can sit outside in the court yard and feel inspired by the tranquil beauty of the traditional dark wood roof, the columns and the traditional furniture designs. The only aspects which very mildly let the hotel down is the ceiling of the bathroom is white cork tiles similar to an office toilet from the 1990s. Also the shower head is about 10 years out of date, still works, it just hasn't got the the spread of any modern shower head. These are minuscule issues to point out but it's due to the rest of the hotel being so beautiful. If they did iron out these small aspects & revamp the rooms a little, then this hotel would be in line with others that cost 4 times the price. Tranquil, Beautiful & Relaxing. Escapism. A*****

Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Excellent location"

Review by: Andrew M | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed just one night here to do the early morning market trip. Rather than battle with all the hawkers we booked a boat with the hotel as they offered a private boat to visit the market and noodle factory for just 400VND for the two of us. The hotel is spotlessly clean and has very good service. We had a suite at the front of the hotel but the bedroom was quite isolated with no view which wasn’t a problem. They gave a welcome drink plus a voucher to have drink of your choice in the roof top bar. Breakfast was excellent served at our table on the front roof terrace. Only thing which was lacking was a pool but for a one night stop over it wasn’t a problematic Highly recommend.

Maisons Wat Kor: "Our home away from home"

Review by: parsichick | Source: Trip Advisor
Discreetly tucked away from the town centre this was a peaceful oasis to retreat to after being out all day. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were comfortable scattered across 2 cambodian style wooden houses with large balconies on which to sip your evening beverages (ask for a room upstairs). A lovely pool to wash away the day's excursions. I would return in a heartbeat.

Arumdalu: "a hidden gem filled with surprises"

Review by: Asiadvisor001 | Source: Trip Advisor
We never expect to find such a refine place at the very southern tip of Belitung island. A very creative and delicate cuisine, sustainable practices to save energy or natural fogging, an attentive service, large villa with private pool, 800m of white sand beach and beautiful landscape. Only recommend to people who appreciate quiet beauty!!!
