"The whole thing is very well done and works. I must say that we spent 4 nights and it was very relaxing. In bed by 9.30pm and up at rhe crack of 8.30am, well I do like to relax. The food was simple and very tasty and well prepared, also more of any item if required. The waterfall boat trip was wonderful, the crew kept apologizing for the lack of water, but the falls were running and it was just right for swimming. My only complaint is that the swimming steps from the river are just round bars and these are painful on the feet when getting out. A great place for a few days to recharge you battery and sole. Lovely room, friendly staff. Much sightseeing in surrounding area. Sights that you would not see elsewhere. Six hour trip up the river from SIttwe was relaxing and very interesting. ".... and this friend invites you to stay at their house in Chiang Mai while they're away. You arrive crunching over the white gravel to a beautiful grand house, away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. Your friend puts their staff at your disposal and says, feel free to use the pool, no one else does, oh and there's a decanter of brandy in the library if you fancy it while reading some books and magazines. This is what it's like staying at Rachamankha. Plus: Library! Breakfast (beautiful, tasty and endless)! Pool! Ambience! Downsides: rooms are OK, but no views, woken by dogs barking from neighbouring property, shower head too low if you're over 5ft10 and you can hear your neighbour going to the toilet in the next door room. It's not often you get to stay in a real palace. And the Traditional Thai teak sala hotel rooms on its palace grounds are unique and remarkable. Our room fronted the Chao Praya river,and candidly, our private lanai/patio was double the size of most hotel rooms these days. Not cheap, but an experience. And perfect for that very very special celebration Best of all, Tatien district, which is behind the royal palace and Wat Po, is experiencing a revival with new eateries, things to do and trendy hotels. We loved the Museum Siam directly across from Chakrabongse Villas, and the River Books bookstore o hotel premises. Don't miss nearby Err restaurant, traditional Thai from the folks that gave us bo.lan.Sanak Retreat Bali: "Beautiful beautiful beautiful"
I don't know where to start but Sanak Retreat is super beautiful ! Do not expect party or night out nearby Sanak as this place is far from the usual tourist places but that's what make Sanak so special. A place for total relaxation. Very well designed, attention to detail in service and the design. Staff are very professional and super friendly. We eat there 3x a day as no restaurants nearby but we knew this and we love it. The view is amazing especially during sunset. They have beautiful spa and also offers some well tailored programmes (trekking, waterfalls trip and many others). I'm so happy and I'm booking again for my next visit this coming October :-) See you soon Sanak!Inle Princess Resort: "Heavenly Spot"
This is a spectacular property. From the moment you approach this resort by boat, you feel tranquil and welcomed! To protect the peaceful nature of the resort, it is required that the long boats shut off their motors. You are paddled to the reception dock by a local paddling with his legs. The property is well laid out, with cabins spread out along the property. Some of them are lake view, others are pond view. The cabins are comfortable, with teak woodwork everywhere. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, with an outdoor (enclosed) shower to boot. The service is attentive. Overall, this is a relaxing, enjoyable property that strives to fit in with the local culture. The only downside was spooty internet access, but this is a minor detail which is easily overlooked. Lonely planet says Pingyao is perfect. Well, Jing's Residence is the perfect place to stay in the perfect walled city. The service is exceptional. They anticipate your every need without being intrusive. Right from the moment you are collected at the airport with snacks to a concierge who helps you plan the perfect activities for your stay... the service is impeccable. The restaurant is outstanding; you'll want to have every meal here! We're foodies and really didn't want to go anywhere else which says a lot for people who normally like to explore local restaurants. The hotel is part of Relais & Chateau and Secret Retreats. Based on our experience here we'll look for other hotels in Asia which are part of these 'brands'. Go! You will love it!VILLA SONG SAIGON: "The Gem on the riverside"
"I can just agree with other reviewers,this place is lovely ....a quiet haven after hours in the city of HCMC with noise,traffic,and stress. Just relax in the shade by the pool with a nice book,or have a drink by the riverside watching the boats passing. Very confy bed and pillows.Lovely breakfast and lunch. The staff very helpful sorting out some issues with my airline for the returnflight. I have already reserved my next stay at Villa Song. See you in november.Thank you. "A very nice boutique resort, one hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Stayed one night at this remarkable resort for my family of four. Relaxed and enjoyed totally with the attentive service from all the staff. Restaurant offer good food and beverages with reasonable price. The sightseeing tour is sufficient and good for the kids to explore the locals in Mekong Delta. Only one negative comment is that the wifi connection in room was not stable throughout my stay at The Island Lodge. Highly recommended for a short trip stay (2 nights) away from the bustling of Ho Chi Minh City."
