Villa Mathis: "Chris and the Staff is the reason to stay here"

Review by: PMH80 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We stayed over new years, my wife, our two young kids, and myself. The villa was very nice and clean. The pool and grounds were great. Food is nice. But the main reason this trip out of many to Bali was great, was because of Chris and his staff. They went so far and beyond what is normal. We had so much going on at the time, and we asked and leveraged Chris for so much more than we normally do. He was great, patient and very accommodating. We can't say enough nice things about him and his team. Thanks guys!!!"

Villa Song Saigon: "A fabulous treat"

Review by: susie n | Source: tripadvisor.com
We spent one night at Villa Song - it was a real treat. The place is beautiful, it feels generous with a free boat shuttle and minibar. The pool is a secluded gem in the garden. Watching the world go by overlooking the Saigon River is hard to beat and even harder while sipping coconut milk from a fresh coconut. We would have stayed longer but it was fully booked. The area is where all the international schools and the expat community live so it is not the place to pop out for local colour or street food but you can access those by taking the boat shuttle into town.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Fabulous place"

Review by: SteppieC | Source: Trip Advisor
"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nimila, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. Highly recommended."

Heritage Suites: "Still excellent"

Review by: Ikemx | Source: Trip Advisor
"I returned to the Heritage hotel one year after my previous stay almost exactly to the day. It's an outstanding hotel truly qualifies as a boutique hotel This time I was given a bungalow and my reaction to this upgrade ( low season) was WOW,what amazing room the best hotel room since a stay at Amanpuri in Phuket. The size of the room is fantastic, the living room, of course the bathroom including a steam room, etc etc Outdoor showers The pictures say what I can not say in words I have a comment to make, I was told the hotel has new ownership and a new manager is soon going to arrive. I only recognized one person Mr Han I hope there's no deterioration of an amazing property I highly recommend it, best hotel on this trip that covered 5 countries in SE Asia"

Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Superb hitel"

Review by: Chris R | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed here for 2 nights in a corner suite. These are the best as they have brilliant views with 3 sets of doors onto balconies. Absolutely fantastic hotel and very helpful staff. Our breakfast was served in the restaurant on the top floor, where we could sit outside. The quality of the food was excellent. Although it was extremely hot the staff found fans to cool us down. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly return.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Paradise – what more could you ask for?!"

Review by: JoCumbria | Source: Trip Advisor
Glenburn looks, tastes and feels like paradise. It is a truly amazing place where you feel cocooned from the rest of the world. From the moment we were warmly welcomed by Ranjan, Angela, George and Kim we felt like part of the “family” and thanks to the excellent company from the remaining guests we had a wonderful stay. Our one regret was that we hadn’t stayed longer! We were staying in a room in the water lily bungalow. A short walk, we enjoyed the privacy that this afforded us from the main building. The rooms are gorgeous and the views have to be seen to be believed. Waking to sunlight breaking over the summit of Kanchenjunga and enjoying it from the comfort of your 4 poster bed is an experience we will never get to repeat! The walking is amazing - both through the tea estate and the colourful villages that house the tea workers with everyone you meet friendly. You don’t need to leave by vehicle once you arrive - indeed the road is so bad you should do all your excursions from the town of Darjeeling before you arrive! We were sorry that the recent civil unrest in Darjeeling had had such a devastating effect on the tea production here. The food was first class and the team went out of their way to cater for our vegetarian diet. If we had stayed longer we would have left a stone heavier! We loved our “bed tea” a great touch. People should note that evening dinner is served “en famille” with other guests which may not suit everyone. Overall a wonderful experience. All our fellow guests had been before and we soon understood why. Location, service and luxury - what more could you ask for. Thanks to all the team there.

Sea Dance Resort: "FLAWLESS — one of the biggest highlights of our Thailand trip"

Review by: Nicole R | Source: Trip Advisor
We visited Koh Samui at the very end of our 2-week Thailand trip &, specifically, Sea Dance Resort. Our stay was, honestly, flawless. It started with a very quaint, beautiful, well-cared for resort where we were warmly greeted upon arrival & given some nice juice drinks as a welcome. Then, we went to our bungalow/room which was so stinkin' cool! It's this round, stand-alone building with a king bed in the center, little desk & day bed along the wall (which our 8 year-old son slept in comfortably). Even better, the shower, toilet & vanity were connected & outdoors. It was really special & well-done. We happened to arrive on a Wednesday evening & every week they do a complimentary happy hour from 6-7 by the water & you have a terrific cocktail or glass or wine by the sea & a band plays. You socialize with the staff & we particularly enjoyed talking to Rory, who we soon learned owns the resort. He is SO kind & personable & caring about his guests, as is the entire staff (Faith, Helen, John, etc.), I was impressed that they learned/knew my & my families names immediately & there IS a casualness to everyone yet their service is spot-on. Little examples-- we were goofing around in the pool & when we came out fresh towels & glasses of water were on our chairs. On one hot day they brought around gin & tonic popsicles for the adults, juice popsicles for the kids. The breakfasts are excellent with an egg station, tons of fresh fruits & pastries, Asian foods, cereal, juices, espresso drinks & so on. There are kayaks & SUPs you can borrow & lots of beautiful places throughout the resort where you can sit on a bench & relax. The staff took a particular liking to my son & went above & beyond by allowing him to feed their koi fish, giving him little treats, etc. We encountered a couple from S Africa who said they could "travel anywhere" but they choose to come back to Koh Samui & more specifically Sea Dance again & again because of the staff & resort; that spoke volumes. I have traveled a lot & Sea Dance is in my Top 3, best hotel experiences, ever. Partly because of the wonderful resort, even moreso because of the people.

Slow Villas and Spa: "The best hotel experience ever!"

Review by: camivisconti | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a perfect place for those who are looking for privacy and piece. The villas are very nice decorated, rustic and chic at the same time. Some nice details makes a big difference: the soap is hand made, very nice hand messages around, map full of handwriting messages and recommendations, the baby cot is made of bamboo. They have bikes available to ride around the island, the breakfast is ordered the day before (and it has options for all tastes) and served in the comfort of your Vila. Julie, the co-owner is a sweetheart herself and all the staff is super nice, always willing to help and in super good mood. We felt treated like a family. The only issue was having to log in all the time to the Internet, but when done, it worked quite well. They didn't have a coffee machine when we were there, but it was already ordered. Highly recommend. The price was worth it. And the prices there are quite ok, not overpriced."

MAISONS WAT KOR: "Lovely and relax resort"

Review by: Elly d | Source: tripadvison.com
"We stayed here for two nights with a great design room plus a pool view and big garden. It is a real Khmer art for sure. Lovely, friendly, and helpful staff. Location is good, abit quiet but sleep well. Good experience and will go back with friends for next visit in Cambodia. "
