The Village House: "Love The Village House!"

Review by: Foodie149 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We have been to the Village House a few times. We keep going back because it is the perfect place to take in the Sarawak vibe. Beautiful rooms, great food (must try the Taste of Borneo tasting menu), but most of all a great group of people that run the place. We always feel at home and amongst friends while we are there. They can help you plan a day trip or a major excursion up the river to a long house. All in all, The Village House is a 10 out of 10. "

tugu bali: "We wanted a WOW !!!!!! place to send our first Christmas! We found it! Hidden Secret"

Review by: soni2acantin | Source: tripadvisor.com
"My boyfriend and i wanted a WOW place to spend Christmas. I went on internet and typed : "" best places to spend Christmas"" and i found an article from Condè Nast saying : Bali, and the best hotel to go : Tugu Hotel ! So i booked. The hotel is amazing since the owner is the biggest art collector of Indonesia, you can really feel a good ""vibe"" BUT the service is even more amazing. We rented the Dendari Suite(we had our private pool and private court yard with a fish pound, with a private swing bed !!!. They brought us to our room at midnight after a 30h flight ..., candles were lit, encent was burning on the way to our door AND our HUGE bath was filled with warm water, flowers and lemongrass essential oil..... WOWWW, the rest was just like that, there is only 21 rooms so the concept is that you can have your breakfast, lunch diner where ever you like, at the beach, at in the Chinese Temple, in your room, near the pound whereever ! The food at the hotel is great, i would really advice you take the romantic package !! It comes with a 2h30 pampering at the spa that finished with them washing your hair, outside, on an antique chair, WOW ! Kadet at the spa is amazing, Khrischna our waiter was so nice loving and caring like the rest of the staff. Kelly, the hotel manager was there for us if you need her and made sure our stay was perfect! The only thing, and i told it to Kelly is that there internet site does not show how great this place is!!! I want to go back !!!!!!!! "

The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Excellent Boutique Hotel and Amazing Staff"

Review by: Mattlaz | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was the first stop on our honeymoon and the Cabochon was an excellent hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helped answer any questions we had, including recommendations for restaurants and nearby spas. They even helped arrange shipping a package of souvenirs we had purchased back home to the USA. The food at the hotel is great, especially the free breakfast. The location of the hotel is very central but also tucked away on a side street, a nice quiet escape from the busy streets of Bangkok."

Inle Princess Resort: "Lake-side retreat"

Review by: Kathy C | Source: Trip Advisor
"From the breath-taking sunrises and sunsets over the lake to the wonderful massages, this is a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Our lakeside cottage was huge and well appointed...couldn't ask for more. Quiet, peaceful grounds. A bit of a hike from our cottage to the restaurant...if you are mobility challenged, you might want to ask for a closer cottage; was not a problem at all for us, however. Would return in a heart-beat. Be sure to allow enough time to explore the lake and its villages by boat...an experience not to be missed! We were there mid-January, and the weather was perfect, and no major mosquito problems. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

The Island Lodge: "Beautiful boutique hotel next to the river"

Review by: abails | Source: Trip Advisor
"We returned with our 4 yrs old for a second time to the Island Lodge and stayed three nights. I believe it's the best thought through boutique hotel I ever came across in SE Asia. The river view rooms are in 2F, right above the open restaurant, the very good size pool is next to the restaurant and everything is right next to the river. Basically wherever you are and whatever you do, you will have a river view (obviously not from the garden rooms). It is the perfect place for doing absolutely nothing. Food and drinks are good and you should be able to find something on either the French or the Vietnamese menu. The rooms have a good size and are very clean, the pool is great and big and never felt crowded. All the staff are very friendly and they will help whenever they can. The Lodge offers a few tours, which are not so bad if this is your first time to SE Asia. There are some areas which could be improved though. I had the manicure/pedicure which was really not that great. Sitting with hand and feet tucked into tiny bowls for quite a while was not very relaxing. I had the impression they want to offer the service, but the location is not really prepared for it. The manicure/pedicure itself was just ok. The other thing which bothered us one morning 7ish was to wake up to Vietnamese techno music played loudly in one of the neighboring houses. I hope this was because we stayed the days right after new year with all the schools off. Nevertheless, the Island Lodge is a fantastic place and we will be back. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"

The Apsara Rive Droite: "The Apsara Queen"

Review by: PeterS6 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at the Apsara Rive Droite so that we had a swimming pool as in the old part of Luang Prabang the boutique hotels don't have the space for a pool. We were not disappointed - this is a small boutique hotel with only about 12 rooms. The service from the staff was fantastic and they were very helpful in recommending things to do even though this is not our first visit to Luang Prabang. The rooms are spacious with big balconies looking over the river to the old part of Luang Prabang. The hotel has a little 'punt' called the Apsara Queen to take you back and forth across the river to the old part of the city where you can wander around. This is walking distance of all the restaurants, bars and shopping so it is a great location. The punt operates 24 hours a day so there is no worry about getting home late or leaving early in the morning to see the monk walking around collecting their alms for the day. We used their bicycles to ride around the weaving villages and then to ride into and around the old part. It was very easy as it is mostly flat and an easy cycle with little of no traffic. Worth doing to explore the side of the river that the hotel is situated on. Very interesting riding past the homes with woman weaving or doing other crafts. Excellent opportunity to buy direct from the person that makes them. When we go back this is the place we will be staying at ....... highly recommended."

Tandjung Sari: "Luxurious"

Review by: Bettyjane L | Source: tripadvisor.com
Unfortunately we only had one night here...it was so beautiful and authentic, the staff so friendly, perfect location and our room was a true haven of indulgence. The dancers, at the dinner show, were the best we saw and were truly amazing. Buffet dinner was good too.

Jing’s Residence: "Highly recommend"

Review by: FranJB | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed two nights at Jing's Residence and what an amazing experience it was. A wonderful oasis of calm and tranquillity. The traditional Chinese courtyard style of residence with the modern facilities is very tastefully combined. The service could not be faulted. Staff were both attentive and friendly. We had a delicious Chinese meal in the restaurant and a most enjoyable afternoon tea in the beautiful upstairs room/library. Breakfast was very good too. There are many little touches which make Jing's residence unique and which were much appreciated. I particularly enjoyed the honeyed dates. Also enjoyed was the tea (ginger and honey) served on arrival whilst we waited for our passports to be checked. Pingyao is a small walled city and we were fortunate to have a guide who was able to take us to places of historical interest in the vicinity. We would definitely recommend Jing's Residence. It has a wonderful atmosphere and is very welcoming. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"
