Hotel Tugu Bali: "A little slice of tranquility!"
Tugu was everything I expected plus more! If you are looking for an authentic Bali experience with its old world feel and amazing friendly service and care than look no further. The hotel is also located in the very hip Canguu area and is a hop step and a jump from the beach. You have everything here from an amazing spa, serene pool (which we had to ourselves) and a rooftop bar and restaurant. We will be back for sure!Tugu Bali: "Unique property. Wonderful staff"
This boutique hotel is impressive. We were wowed from the moment we arrived. The hotel is a museum and houses an impressive collection of art and sculpture. Ask Ari for a tour as he's a wealth of info on the history of each piece. We choose a Dedari suite with a private plunge pool, an amazing outdoor shower/bath that overlooked a private coy pond and the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in. The hotel is a two minute walk to the beach. I walked the beach each morning but preferred to lie by the swimming pool and enjoy the serenity. The staff are attentive and kind and the service is exceptional. Sri was outstanding and really took care of us during our 3 day stay. The restaurant menu is substantial. The food is delicious. You can order a meal anytime and eat it anywhere on the property. There's also afternoon tea. The Japanese restaurant is in a Chinese temple reconstructed on the property and is beautifully decorated. Thursday night is cultural dance night and not to be missed. We also tried the spa - seashell facial, pedicure and Balinese massage. It was the best massage I'd had in all of Bali! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend the Tugu. I would definitely choose this hotel brand again! Thanks to Jenny and Ari and the team for the wonderful vacation. The Island Lodge: "Lovely stay at The Island Lodge"
Our family of five stayed for 3 wonderful nights at the hotel. The customer service was superb. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We love the French cuisine served there, especially the freshly made bread! The lodge was quiet, relaxing and very beautiful. We will definitely be back!Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A highlight of our trip"
"This is definitely a highlight of our trip! Upon arrival, reception greets you by name and it just gets better from there. There are only six cottages on property which allows them to make each stay an amazing experience. Each cottage has a terrace. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. You can (and we did) end up spending most of our time in ours. Beds are comfortable and rooms make you feel that you are staying somewhere special. The hotel is also a teaching school for aspiring hospitality students and they go over the top to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Part of the money you spend goes to supporting the students and local community. In Feb, it does get cold at night so in addition to bringing warm PJs, the staff leaves bed warmers during the turn down service. Nice touch. It can get a bit noisy - during the day, you hear motorboats going back and forth along the water highway and at night, there are chanting monks (at least during Feb for some festival). It didn't bother us but that seems to be the only thing people complained about on TA. There are ear plugs available if it does bother you. Internet is barely working and best time to try is early morning however this appears to be the norm for this area. All in all, a really enjoyable experience and absolutely recommended. Room Tip: Book the cooking class!"Supanniga Cruise: "Fantastic boutique dinner cruise experience"
"We booked the SC as a birthday celebration whilst family were visiting Bangkok (4 adults in total). We booked the Dinner Champagne Tattinger Cruise package which offers a fantastic selection of various dishes following a flute of Tattinger upon boarding. As five-year residents of Bangkok, we had always wanted to experience a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, but had no intention of joining the buffet-style, neon-light-laden barges with over 500 other ""diners"" queing and elbowing our way around a floating eye-sore. In contrast, the SC setup is a very small, boutique, and well-managed operation, with a limited number of diners in a quiet and intimate setting. The top deck offers great uninterrupted views of the passing river and buildings on the banks. The route takes in many of the river's highlights including The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, as well as some of the quieter stretches south of Taksin Bridge. The table service was very attentive, professional (but relaxed) and prompt - there is quite a substantial list of servings to get through in the two hour experience, but the portions are tasty and appropriate. Being fans of the Bangkok outlets of Supanigga, we are aware of the seafood-orientation of the menu, and there was a bit of spice involved in a few dishes, but it is all very nice and very well prepared given the limitations on kitchen (being on a small boat!). The departure from River City is very convenient and well-managed (with booking confirmation phone call earlier in the day). Being able to park in the River City complex is very helpful. We were very excited to see the launch of this endeavour by Supanigga and were very happy and satisfied (and full!) that we chose it for a special occasion. We all thoroughly recommend the experience, and hope to return to take it all in again in the near future."Tugu Lombok: "A magical place with beauty in every step"
"The hotel is beautiful, with lot of different areas to explore, relax and even work. All the areas are decorated with elegance, full of art objects. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was amazing with open air area. The hotel staff is very kind, you feel pampered every minute. "THE SAMAR: "THE SAMAR"
" Siem Reap itself is something else. You can feel certain peace and tranquility immidiately after you land there. When you check in to hotel Samar Villa & Spa, this feeling of serenity and relaxation comes to it's full power. It is situated just a bit outside of the city centre limits, which is actually great. Tuk tuk is affordable so a 4,5 minute ride to the Siem Reap centre is really not a problem. On a contrary, nice way to cool down after a hot day in Angkor temples, before you step into the Samar swimming pool. Check in procedure is really smooth and relaxing, with nice welcome drinks and towels provided for all. Hotel is not big, so even if they are full, you are almost all the time alone and you feel like you have it all just for yourself. Staff are very nice and provide help but privacy in the same time, which we appreciated highly. Rooms are so nice, in french colonial style, maintained well, decorated with style. Breakfasts were so delicious, there is no buffet, but you can order your daily choice and they will prepare it for you. Very tasty. Some of the comments before were negative (eg maintainance, insect spraying,...). We found them not to be true, and as far as insects are concerned, of course they have to spray, but as the end result you can have nice relaxing evenings without bugs and mosquitos. They do it during the day, when all/most guests are out, exploring temples.... All in all, i really hope me and my family will come back to Cambodia and Siem Reap soon. Then we will stay in Samar again for sure! It is for every recommendation."Rakkojae Seoul: "Ticked all the boxes for us"
"Thank you Mr Kim for a wonderful stay in your beautiful 130 year old Korean house. After visiting the National Folk Museum (15 minute walk), I felt like we were staying in one of their exhibits. Just the same – amazing. The location at Jongno-gu was perfect as we are into history so we could walk to the two main palaces, as well as Insadong. Meyongdong is just a short taxi ride away or the metro just 5 minutes’ walk. Also the Airport bus is just near the metro Anguk. There are lots of restaurants around, the difficulty is choosing which one. The underfloor heating was very warm and the beds on the floor very comfortable. The Korean bath was a unique experience to us Australians. But the most amazing part of our stay was the Korean breakfasts – both very tasty and something different every day – YUM. We used the sauna once, and it was hot, so if you are into saunas you will be very happy. We only lasted 10 minutes. The service was never intrusive, just a little hello, and someone popped out to see what you wanted. Mr Kim was always willing to help and make suggestions. Access was very easy, but you really have to phone ahead to announce your arrival to get through the front gate. We had our taxi driver call ahead and Mr Kim was waiting outside. Once you have the access code, you can come and go whenever you want. You can also pre-order dinner which we did on arrival night and we were presented with an amazing feast – really a mini buffet of Samgyetang Korean Ginseng Chicken and all the side dishes. An excellent idea after a long flight from London and transfer through the Seoul traffic. Again thank you Mr Kim and your wonderful assistant who made our stay at RakJoJae very comfortable."Villa Song: "Exciding high expectations"
"This is no ordinary 5-star rating and I will soon tell you how this hotel succeeded in exciding my high expectations. It all started at the airport where I was patiently waiting to be picked up by a prearranged car that would take me to my hotel. After quite some time I decided to call the hotel to check where my transport was. When giving the hotel my reservation number, I was informed that they had not received my booking and that they were not expecting me until the following month. I suddenly realized that I had made a terrible mistake with dates, and simply booked a room once month prior to my actual arrival. To my great luck, Villa Song where able to help me out and arranged a very nice room for my week-long stay. They also quickly arranged a pick up for me. I was prepared this mistake would cost me dearly, but to my great surprise I was charged the same amount. That’s 5-star service in my book! Thank you! Now, a few things about this lovely hotel; It is a little bit outside the center of town, but it only takes about 15 minutes to get there. The hotel offers a free boat transport that leaves conveniently just outside the premises several times from morning to evening. The staff is very attenuative and make sure you feel at home during your stay. They have a great pool and the food at the restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced. There is a nice-looking spa, but I never had the chance to try it out. There is also a small gym next to the pool with all the things you need to stay in great shape. If I would mention one thing that could be improved, that would be to give the guests a way to decide whether they want their towels in the room replaced or not. Considering the environmental impact from all the washing, I believe this to be a fair way to save some water and energy. Many hotels offer replacement simply by asking their guests to leave the towels on the floor if they need washing. Thank you for a lovely stay. I can’t wait to visit you again."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Jamais deux sans trois"
