Tugu Malang: "An incredible night in a lively museum"
"The TUGU Malang is a unique place on earth, being both a magnificent museum and an ultra-comfortable hotel with a pool. You will be flabbergasted by the magnificence of the place: antiques, artefacts, wooden doors, Bali temples...all inside the hotel. Take to your time to wander and step back in time. The food is delicious and the breakfast amazingly rich of flavours. The location is very central, the service is of high-standard. The only weaknesses of the place would be some rooms facing a wall (but the hotel kindly moved us to a pool view), and the busy and noisy traffic circle outside (ask for a room not facing the traffic circle)."Inle Princess Resort: "wonderful stay"
this location is way off the beaten track. Not very popular but worth the trip to see how these people live and flourish while literally living on the river in different villages. Fishing and floating farms provided the sustenance. Hotel was excellent, good food and lovely accommodations. You take boat trips to get around this huge lake. "I'm a travel agent and made a trip to Singapore, Java and Bali. On our trip through Java we stayed 2 nights at Tugu Malang. On our first night we did the tour ""romantic breakfast at Bromo"", this tour was perfectly arranged by Tugu Malang. Sunset at Bromo, savannah and the crater of Bromo is a must see and certainly if Tugu Malang arranged it, you will end this perfect tour with a delicious breakfast with a view you will never forget. It is a unique experience that only Tugu Malang can arrange for you. The hotel was my absolute favorite during my trip. It is a beautiful hotel, the service is amazing and the rooms are super comfortable and clean. Very friendly & helpful staff, including the manager. Decided to give this hotel a try based on some recommendations, and also due to the fact that i had a work appointment nearby. Beautiful resort with actual villas relocated from the region to this coffee plantation. Tons of antique furniture. Good food, extremely friendly staff. I would highly recommend if you're in the Semarang area, make the couple hour drive up for a weekend retreat. You won't regret it. Also, make time to do an hour tour of the coffee plantation. They do it around 10am, very interesting. Also you can ride horses to the neighboring villages, didn't have time to do it but would have loved it.Tugu Malang: "Lovely place, lovely staff"
Stayed here for just one night whilst passing through Malang. Have been planning to stay here for a while though due to good reports. The staff were super friendly on arrival and got me checked in quickly. Afternoon tea was delicious and very welcome, and then a trip to the spa for my 15 mins welcome massage plus another hour which was fantastic. Dinner was scrumptious - please note there is a separate vegetarian menu but you have to ask for it. So much food on offer! My room was great with a lovely soft bed. There are a number of breakfast menus - so much choice! I had an upset stomach and once I told the staff they brought me some herbal tea to help. The staff also gave me a free bag of coffee and some bread snacks to keep me going on my ride back to Surabaya. I didn't want to leave! This interesting concept restaurant had Japanese inspired tapas. The food and service were excellent! We really enjoyed the broccoli Caesar, the ceviche, the meatballs and the meat and potatoes. Good for kids as well!Manda De Laos: "Best restaurant in town"
