Villa Song: "A very special place!"
"As many have said, Villa Song is a bubble of peace and tranquility in a chaotic and noisy city. I would thoroughly recommend it. The boat is a great way to get to the city. The room (Art Suite) was beautiful, with river views. If I was to be critical about one thing, it would be the restaurant menu. The kids menu was excellent, however the regular menu we found a bit strange. It was fusion-ish! Strange combinations. It all tasted pretty good mind you, but I would prefer to see more true Vietnamese on there. Personal taste perhaps. A real gem. We will be back for sure! Gareth."The Cabochon Hotel: "A beautiful hotel with so many lovely features"
We were welcomed before we even entered the hotel, with a concierge helping us take our suitcases out of the taxi. We were then escorted to the library and given coconuts to help us cool down. The thoughtful details didn't end there, and our stay was wonderful. We were in a great part of town and given lots of advice about getting around on the skytrain. The rooftop pool was a welcome way to cool down at the end of each day. Highly recommended!Jing’s Residence: "Do not miss this!"
We spent two lovely nights at this boutique hotel while visiting Pingyao. It is beautiful, serene and wonderfully restored. Our room was not large, but very well appointed with a king platform bed, desk, armoire and mini-fridge with complementary drinks and snacks. The bathroom was perfect with a large shower with great hot water pressure. We ate in the restaurant our first night, and it was terrific! As usual in China, the food was modestly priced and the wine was fairly expensive. But we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! But the thing that make this little gem excel is the staff. We travel a lot and I don't think we have ever found a place where every staff member was so welcoming! Everyone spoke English and wanted to practice their skills whenever they could. When we went out, we were welcomed back with an opened front door. When we came in for breakfast (very good and a broad selection), we were greeted by name and asked how we slept. Everyone consistently had a smile on their faces! It was a joy to stay here!Talabgaon Castle: "We loved it and we are going back"
"The serenity of Talabgaon Castle took our breath away. The loving attention to detail in the restoration process is apparent. The castle is clearly still a home and as guests we are being welcomed in. We dined outside by the pool, listened to the peacock calls, wandered the grounds and watched the polo ponies exercise. we strolled the village street, bought lacquer bracelets and watched a potter make water jugs. It was a wonderful stay and we are already planning our trip back. "Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Amazing Lombok"
This is our second trip to Tugu Lombok which is very unusual for us as we rarely return to a holiday destination we've previously been so that speaks highly for Tugu. We are avid international travellers and travel on average 4-6 times a year and Tugu holds a special place in our hearts. It's a stunning setting so full of character and charm (unlike many souless 5 star hotels). Its a photographer's dream. The accomodation, food and service is second to none. Though unfortunately I can't remember all the names of the attentive and gracious staff I do want to thank one of the managers Hanny for her wonderful hospitality and impeccable customer service. I can't recommend this hotel enough.MesaStila: "An excellent experience!"
"Great hotel with a fantastic staff. The food at the restaurant is very nice and the SPA service has been one of the best experiences of my life. Ideal for couples on honey moon. The coffee tour is recommendable"Amata Lanna: "Stunning oasis near old toen"
"I cannot say enough about the beauty, tranquility and service provided at Amata Lanna Village. Everything about the place was excellent. Especially noteworthy, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Before we left, the manager (we think it was the manager) even traveled to get us coffee at the farm because it was the best coffee available. The location was decent. It was an easy tuk tuk or cab ride to town. There was a small market nearby and coffee too but hours for the coffee shop (off site) was not predictable. My only complaint was that the walls to the bathroom had decorative cut outs so privacy was limited. It didn’t matter to us as a couple. Do not hesitate to book this place!"Tugu Bali: "Best hotel to relax"
"If you're looking for a place away from party places and noisy crowds in Bali, then head to Hotel Tugu Bali. You have to see for yourself on why this is such an amazing hotel to stay in. I loved my Dedari Suite which had a private pool and a really beautiful bathroom. The entire property went beyond my expectations, and I was blown away by the beachfront area. I also enjoyed their all day breakfast concept, especially since I left very early for my Mt. Batur climb and returned after lunch. This hotel is at least an hour away from the airport but it's really worth it. There are also pubs outside the hotel if you want to have some drinks and a bit of party vibe. I hope to be back soon!"David’s Kitchen: "Amazing Food and Wine"
"Superb experience. Beautiful, calm space in which to dine. A graceful, accommodating staff, and a tremendous kitchen. My wife's printed name and mine greeted us when we reached the table. Nice touch. The menu is traditional French/Continental, exceedingly well-done. Highlights on the food side were the pumpkin veloute, the fois gras, the grilled duck breast, . We ordered one set menu (4 courses) and three a la carte courses; the waiter immediately offered to divide the extra soup course into two servings, which was thoughtful and kind, as was the rest of the very attentive service. The waiters and sommelier spoke excellent English, by the way. David, the owner, stopped by our table several times, and we had a lengthy conversation about wine, a passion for both of us. In general, ordering fine wine in Thailand is an expensive nuisance, because of the 400% import tax. As a rule, we don't, because you end up paying $50 dollars for mouthwash. However, the refined food at David's Kitchen cries out for good wine, and to make that possible, David keeps his wine prices LOW. I was delighted to find a bottle of St. Cosme's 2016 Cotes du Rhone for roughly the same price I've paid for it in US restaurants. Remarkable that it was both available at David's Kitchen and fairly priced. In summation, this is an exceptionally fine restaurant, one of a kind here in Chiang Mai, and if you are looking for a special place for a special meal, I recommend it most highly."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Such a great addition to our honeymoon"
What an amazing experience, and so great to see that everywhere we turned, the camp was working to conserve the environment. Whether it be the tents surrounded by trees or the supply of clean drinking water into glass bottles, it is visible to see that Noel, Cecile and the team are really working alongside our environment, not against it. We were able to see all animals, except the sloth bear (which we didn't mind missing out on, due to their elusive nature), and only participated in 3 of the 4 game drives (due to wanting quiet time during our honeymoon). The staff are amazingly helpful and courteous and knowledgeable, and will even run to your rescue at midnight if you hear something in the bushes as there's mobile phones provided for anything of the like. The traditional food is nothing short of AMAZING! My husband is the fussiest eater and was a tad worried beforehand to say the least, but enjoyed almost everything put in front of him and not once went hungry (quite the opposite!). The honeymoon tent was a little out of our budget, so we chose to stay in the 'normal' couple tent, however were definitely not disappointed. I'm definitely going to have trouble getting my husband to come 'normal' camping again! It's very comfortable, spacious and 'glamorous' for bush standards! And perhaps the coolest part was meeting so many incredible people from around the world who were there too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can see - highly recommend for anyone visiting Sri Lanka :)
