Satri House: "Just wonderful and charming!"
"Excellent in every way! Top in quality of the rooms decorated with local and colonial furniture, the staff is helpful, the spa was really agreeable, the restaurant is top even if the staff is still lacking a bit of experience in the way of taking orders. For sure, this will be the place I will go back to next time I am in Luang Prabang."Reverie Siam Pai: "Lovely and different hotel"
Pai was our second city stop in our Thailand trip. We decided to stay at the Reverie Siam as it is close to the main streets of Pai but caters to guests outside of the backpacking crowd. It is definitely like stepping back in time with the type of decor and being slightly secluded with wonderful views of the mountains and river. We stayed in a private villa which offered its own garden view. The bedroom itself is air conditioned but the bathroom is not. We stayed at the end of May/beginning of June and really didn't find the no ac a problem - although I never tried to blow dry my hair for those who would want to do this. The hotel included breakfast every morning from an a la carte menu and we decided to have drinks there every evening. The bar offers lots of fun cocktails, infused gins, and one of the better wine lists we saw while in Thailand. The shuttle runs frequently to the main streets of Pai in the evening, and is only a short 3-4 minute ride. We swam in both pools and enjoyed them both and overall felt very relaxed during our time in Pai.Rachamankha: "A Jewel of Tranquility"
What a lovely architectural masterpiece, making a simple but classy and tranquil base during our visit to Chiang Mai. Beatiful rooms, lovely swimming pool, fabulous event dining room and bar. The buildings and the grounds combine together to give charming and interesting views of well considered artifacts and decoration. Teak doors and furniture within plain white walls. Ceiling fans in open areas and AC in the lovely rooms. Great en-suite.The Island Lodge: "The perfect place to stay in the Mekong Delta"
Having been to Vietnam before i wasn't looking to explore but it must be said that Island Lodge would be the perfect place to explore the Mekong Delta from, everything is literally on your doorstep when staying here. I was looking for a quiet place to work and relax and it is perfect for this too. Set on an island facing the Mekong, the property has the feel of a grand home with warm, friendly and discreet staff on hand when required. Such a peaceful spot, time seems to slow down here, Ideal to catch up on some work or to just relax with a good friend or a good book. And I never tired of watching the boats on the Mekong from the balcony of my room. The perfect place for a city break, the perfect place to explore the Mekong delta from and the perfect place just to relax and unwind. If you are heading to Saigon make time for a few days here. Thank-you Michel and the team for making us feel so at home. See you again sometime soon I hope.Cuca: "Gastronomical delight & stunning experience"
Myself and my husband went to this place on my birthday. This is one of the finest places I have been in Bali. The service so apt and upto the mark cant complain at all. We had ordered cuban corn, smoked butterfish, marinated pulled pork. Each dish was outstanding and very neatly presented. Also they explain the dish when they serve and explain how one should eat it. That is truly remarkable. And for the desert we atually ended up ordering Bali breakfast which was coconut cream, passion fruit and runny mango which was so delicious. I would always visit this place for tapas, its ambience, its service.Tugu Lombok: "A truly original gem"
"The resort is set on a beautiful and quiet peninsula of Lombok, with a great private beach. Everywhere you look there are antiques, artefacts and ancient buildings which have been restored to former glory - like something we've never seen before! The villas are very spacious and having a personal carp pond is a really unique addition. We have the fondest memories of Tugu from the incredible setting, to the warm service and not mention the impressive towel art skills :) "Maison Polanka: "Sublime. The perfect balance in every respect"
Maison Polonka blew me and my friends away. Very rarely do you walk away from a hotel stay speechless at the friendliness, the serenity, the service, and the ability to go above and beyond. From the gardens to the pool, as well as the stunning rooms, Maison Poloka has nailed it. But beyond that, the service was extraordinary, from the first pick up, through to helping get a flight delayed so we would not miss it (!!). Yes, that happened. Attentive without being smothering; friendly and absolutely genuine. I would normally keep such a place a secret, for fear of it getting swamped and me never being able to stay there again - but when it's this good the world needs to know about it and they deserve every booking they get.NEELESHWAR: "Superb"
"What a wonderful place. We are not easily impressed as we have been working in the travel industry for years so have stayed in some of the top hotels of the world but Neeleshwar is exceptional. We stayed 6 nights and left regrettably so happy and relaxed. Everything was perfection!! "Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A Step Back In Time"
Recently visited Cheong Fatt Tze's Blue Mansion in Georgetown. All in all I was glad I went as I learned a lot about the original owner. The tour guide was a fascinating raconteur. I could tell she had told this story a few times in the 18 years she had worked there. The quality of the restoration is absolutely amazing.Manda De Laos: "Great food and setting"
My wife and I visited the restaurant and enjoyed a really nice meal. The Lilly Pond is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely return.
