Babe: "Sensational. A really special experience."
"Among all of the places I have eaten at, Babe exudes an atmosphere that rivals the most energetic of places, with the food sharing that same energy. Chef Jeff Ramsay and his team of chefs and hosts provide an experience that's unlike any other in Malaysia. The food is refreshingly inventive, executed well, and finished off with attentive explanations. I really enjoyed my time here and I recommend the place to anybody who's looking for a good time. "Babe: "Amazing"
The staff could not do enough for you. The service was fantastic and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere and scenery was a delight. Perfect for romantic evenings or meal with friends. Definitely at the top end of the market for luang prabang bit worth every pennyPoring Hot Spring Nature Reserve: "Gorgeous Lodge"
"We stayed in the River lodge. OK, so the small water tank doesn't enable you to have a deep bath, but that didn't bother us. 2 great bedrooms, 2 enormous bathrooms, 3 sitting decks, 2 separate sittings areas, good air con and cable TV. Right next to river and entrance to the nature reserve. No internet but there is some at the resort restaurant (although not fast). Better wifi at Round Inn cafe near the car park (2min walk away). Staff were very professional and friendly. Additional service offered to see Rafflesia flower if one is blooming nearby. A guide drove us less than 10 mins to see one on a local fruit farm. RM30 each is a bit steep but it's a rare opportunity and hopefully it encourages the locals to nurture these amazing flowers."Villa Mathis: "The Proposal Of A Lifetime"
"I was lucky enough to have known just how beautifully romantic and special Villa Mathis is in Bali already and decided it would be the perfect location for my proposal to my beautiful fiancé in AUG 2017. Bruno and his beautiful wife were ever so kind to create the most magically romantic setting in one of their private gardens for this special occasion. Seriously they went above and beyond anyone could hope for, from table setting to the fairy lights, to the love hearts hanging in the trees, to the white silk walkway and candles to the table, to the fire dancers that put on a show for us. Everything was absolutely perfect and i am forever in grateful for provided this for our special occasion. I cannot forget the manager of Villa Mathis either for all of his help and time he dedicated to arranging all of the extras things for us and also being the one to secretly put the ring in the glass of champagne for my toast and proposal. =) The rooms and villas and gardens and pool and restaurant and food and staff of this resort are truly amazing and something you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Once again i cannot speak highly enough of this resort, the owners, the manager, the staff. It is truly a romantic place to stay and overtime my fiancé and i celebrate our engagement we will also be thinking of how Burno and the team and Villa Mathis made this more special then i could of ever hoped for. Forever grateful. =)"Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A Great Place to Stay"
"This is a great place to stay and the staff are friendly and kind. The rooms have real character and charm. It is such a relaxing stay after the mayhem of Georgetown. The breakfast is amazing and the beds are super comfortable. Will definitely stay again at the Blue Mansion Ben and Anna Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Supanniga Eating Room: "Top Thai ~ without a doubt"
"My only disappointment is that it took me so long to experience this treasure of a restaurant. It’s world class, not only in its delivery of exceptional Thai food but it’s down to earth nature. One for a repeat visit at every opportunity and I’ve been enjoying Thai cuisine for 30 years. Full marks to the owners, a wonderful gastronomic experience. Sorry for the limited images as I was too busy enjoying it all. Authentic Thai"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Unbelievable"
Wow just got back from week long stay at this resort .We stayed in See blue 2 it was amazing we slept with the doors open and just the sound of the serf crashing along the beach .We stayed in early November and were one of only thirteen people staying it was fantastic .Don't bother taking your nice shoes as no one where's shoes at dinner you leave them outside we spent the week barefoot .My husband booked the yoga with Alex and loved every minute of it .The restaurant served good food with a new menu everyday the fish was to die for and incredibly reasonable. Definitely do the beach BBQ it was good fun , food was fabulous. There are a good selection of wines and my husband tells me good beer. The owners three dogs were a source of good entertainment as was the monkeys Brenen is incredibly helpful with the wildlife and the trips are well worth taking if you can get of the sun bed .Everybody at Golden Budha is so helpful nothing is to much trouble .Thank youDewakan: "Amazing restaurant – GO"
"When we watched John Torode's Malaysia programme back in the UK , he showed this place and so we booked it for our last night in KL. I have to admit as it got closer I got concerned that we had made a mistake. No malaysian we spoke to in KL had heard of the place and it soon became apparent that it was on the outskirts of town, a good hour away from central KL and forms part of the KDU campus. I need not have worried however. The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. The service was attentive, the team enthusiastic about the food and the food itself was inventive and interesting. We had the 17 course tasting menu and every dish was different and innovative in its use of traditional Malay ingredients. Notable dishes included a perfectly rendered crispy duck skin over succulent rare duck meat, as well as the almost Heston Blumenthal like childish fun of putting together the slow baked red snapper in broth dish. There was only one dish we didn't particularly enjoy, which was the prawn dish and we found the texture of the raw prawns a bit odd, but it was clever cooking nonetheless with the flavour combination. This place is worthy of a Michelin star. My only concern is that being so far out of town and having only 10 tables, it is not getting enough clientele. So please, please if you enjoy inventive and innovative cuisine, go to this restaurant."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Quite simply, wow"
This experience was worth the long car journey and really made the holiday to Cambodia special. We arrived on the 1st October and from the moment we stepped onto the complimentary boat the relaxation began. The luxury of the tents astounded us, I especially wasn't expecting such a decent water pressure from the shower, to be able to lie in bed and just look out onto the river was unique. Another surprise was the variety of fresh food available, the daily changing set menu was wonderful. We did both the fire fly and waterfall excursions, should the weather have been better we would have jumped at the sunset trip too, the waterfall was brilliant fun and exhilarating. However what really made the trip for me was the people and their stories. The activities coordinator had such interesting stories to tell, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to his island, on the way back from the waterfall, where we met the locals and shared some fresh coconut. Seeing first hand how they live and discussing their hopes for their country was extremely thought provoking. Our last evening will be one I will never forget, from further discussions with staff about their views on the development of Cambodia, to our beautiful dinner over looking the water, I was already missing the resort when the staff all came out to play their guitars and sing for us, it was simply a fantastic experience, one I have not stopped raving about since returning. If you want to experience the hidden side of Cambodia or simply want to get away from it all for a while you really must stay here. Thank you all for making my holiday an unforgettable experience I truly do miss each of youThe Apsara Rive Droite: "Classic Modern"
"Well, may not look busy but great menu with fusion of traditional and western influences. Don't be put off by what may appear to be lack of patronage. Staff are well trained and friendly. Try, Fish Cakes, Pumpkin Curry, Buffalo Cheeks (Yummy) etc., Manager, Chris can discuss any special requirements. This is also a highly regarded boutique hotel on the Historic Peninsula over looking the Nam Kahn river. Stayed January 2017"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
