MesaStila: "Boutique Villa in Javanese Style"

Review by: AnneHu | Source: Trip Advisor
Heard the story from staff that a Spanish lady built this place and all the villas were moved from somewhere in Central Java so that all villas are unique. I joined the coffee plantation trip and liked it. Also I bought one pack of coffee beans from gift shop, which was quite nice actually.

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "The Founders of Seeds have created a utopia!"

Review by: aasawyer | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were invited to Seeds on behalf of the extremely generous, creative, artistic & kind owners, Lucia and Felix Eppiser, as a gift for their staff in that we were sharing conscious movement workshops to build team morale, body awareness & self esteem. This alone should tell you what an amazing couple they are - the very fact that they create workshops and events like this for their staff, treating them like beloved family and wanting the best for them to experience! For many of the staff, they may never have the opportunity to be with a professional dancer multiple times over a week and in such a fun, joyful, team building way. I also heard from the staff that the owners gift many types of trainings to them, team building experiences and fun activities. How wonderful! Lucia and Felix care so much about the well being of their staff, and this care is reflected in the way the staff presents themselves, how they serve, how they interact with the guests and with each other. The ambiance is absolutely wonderful, efficient, and incredibly courteous. We even saw that when it was their off days, the staff were still coming to the restaurant or meeting up with one another. And one of the highlights was to hear the staff’s ‘boy band’ sing a really great song to us as a celebration thank you during one of our meals - they sound like professionals!!! And they were so happy!! This is the kind of talent, artistry, community and joy that Lucia and Felix support within their restaurant family, and it is reflected everywhere. The ambiance of the restaurant is also aesthetically beautiful. And when you hear the stories about how the table cloths were made, how the drapes were woven, how the plates were commissioned, how the cups and bowls were selected, how the murals were done on the walls, where the lamps come from, etc - you will again see how much care the owners have taken to not only create a beautiful restaurant with meaning, but most importantly - to include the local artistry of the Myanmar community — so much has been hand crafted by the locals, and to me, this was an astonishing surprise. It is easy to simply buy in bulk from premade factories, but Lucia and Felix have taken the time to select the best and to support the local craftsmanship. Now the food... oh my... it is insanely delicious!! We couldn’t stop eating! And we are challenging diners in that we are vegan, gluten free... and Felix specially created 7 course meals day after day for us that were absolutely delicious, as well as so beautiful! The culinary artistry of Felix is one of a kind. The care in which the food is displayed, how the local ingredients are transformed into unique gourmet dishes - and the gluten free bread (the best I have ever had!) — all was exquisite! You will really feel that you have stepped into a private oasis, a hidden utopia, when you enter Seeds. The wall of bamboo on the outside gives a feeling of going into a secret garden that is far away from the hustle and bustle of Yangon. The lake view is superb, and just wait until the dry season when you can sit lakeside or even have the VIP in the bamboo bird’s nest (I believe it is the most unique structure at Seeds!). Whether you are with business, on a date, having a marriage reception, or with your family - your experience will be fantastic. We really look forward to returning to Seeds again in the near future!"

Mie Cafe: "One of our favorites in Siem Reap"

Review by: sheilaogden | Source: Trip Advisor
We had lunch three times at this wonderful restaurant. It was critiqued in an article by Lawrence Osborne at saver.com, and what a find it was. We loved the tuna tartare with mango, the stuffed ravioli, grilled eggplant with pork, the mango passionfruit sorbet, and a chocolate cake to die for. Also their iced lattes are delicious.

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "The Best Experience"

Review by: LachlanP_12 | Source: Trip Advisor
While we were a bit unlucky in the leopard spotting - though we did see one for a split second as it flashed across the track, we had a fantastic time at this extremely professionally run operation. Our only wish was that we could have had some more time there. It wasn't just the safari experience which was excellent, with a real passion to show the big and small animals and birds, but the camp was extremely comfortable with some of the best food we encountered in Sri Lanka. Noel & Cecile and their team also are very knowledgeable and could clearly explain many issues related to cultural and historical aspects of Sri Lanka that we were interested in as well.

MesaStila: "Absolutely wonderful"

Review by: Thurston_Moore | Source: Trip Advisor
This was one of the highlights of our Indonesia trip. Very romantic, very naturistic setting. Very interesting plantation tour. Absolutely great spa treatments. Food also very good, and don't miss the jamu herbal drinks. Overall highly recommended especially for nature lovers.

Dewakan: "The best restaurant n Malaysia and one of the best in the World"

Review by: globetrotor | Source: Trip Advisor
"Not easy to find, but when you get to this beautiful cosy restaurant, only thing you have to do is ENJOY! I think I had one of the best dinner I ever had... Amazing! So creative, original, tasty, flavored... Chef Darren Deohis a genius! With a great young team around, in the kitchen and also to serve the guests. He prepared us a meal to pare with great Burgundy range, and it was just perfect! All local ingredients, including the best duck I ever had (and I al French, from South West...). This is the place to go (dinner only and not open on Sunday). Don't miss it. For me this may have at least 2 stars in Michelin Guide (3rd star will come with the service)... Just a last word: WOOOOWWWW!"

Reverie Siam Pai: "Lovely and different hotel"

Review by: megcleg | Source: Trip Advisor
Pai was our second city stop in our Thailand trip. We decided to stay at the Reverie Siam as it is close to the main streets of Pai but caters to guests outside of the backpacking crowd. It is definitely like stepping back in time with the type of decor and being slightly secluded with wonderful views of the mountains and river. We stayed in a private villa which offered its own garden view. The bedroom itself is air conditioned but the bathroom is not. We stayed at the end of May/beginning of June and really didn't find the no ac a problem - although I never tried to blow dry my hair for those who would want to do this. The hotel included breakfast every morning from an a la carte menu and we decided to have drinks there every evening. The bar offers lots of fun cocktails, infused gins, and one of the better wine lists we saw while in Thailand. The shuttle runs frequently to the main streets of Pai in the evening, and is only a short 3-4 minute ride. We swam in both pools and enjoyed them both and overall felt very relaxed during our time in Pai.

Maduzi Hotel: "Amazing"

Review by: Globehopper8 | Source: Trip Advisor
I stayed 3 nights at the Maduzi hotel and it was an incredible experience. The silk sheets are unlike anything I have ever slept on and alone are worth staying here. Bangkok is always steamy hot and the AC cooled the sheets making the room all the more appealing after a day in the sun. The hotel is conveniently located to the train and abundant restaurants and pubs (though the restaurant serves fantastic food so if you're tired there's absolutely no need to venture out). The Maduzi is the quintessential boutique hotel with a staff that is unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The mini-bar is free and plentiful water is provided upon request. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning to the Maduzi. PS - if you need anything during your stay Nui is THE MAN.
