Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Beautiful, unspoilt, far flung"

It's a bit a trek to get to (4.5 hours from Phuket airport) but it's worth it. A set of individual villas for rent next to the deserted beach with monkeys, hornbills, butterflies and pigs for company. The staff, particularly Massi, are super friendly.

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Excellent"

We went to this resort for our honeymoon. It had been a surprise destination (my husband made all the arrangements) so I had no expectations. I was amazed.... It is a beautiful, quiet, romantic, serene place. It is ideal for couples ❤

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Amazing dinner with friends"

Very innovative. I'm impressed by the quality of their ingredients and ideas. This is the best modern Thai restaurant in Thailand. All dishes were executed with great confidence.

"The hotel is beautiful, with lot of different areas to explore, relax and even work. All the areas are decorated with elegance, full of art objects. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was amazing with open air area. The hotel staff is very kind, you feel pampered every minute. "

The Governor’s House: "Boutique hideaway in the city"

I stayed only 2 nights at the hotel but Yin Yin and her team really looked after me and it felt like I was a guest in their house. The hotel is beautiful with its antiques but manages to integrate modern amenities. Breakfast and lunch were delicious, with big portions I thought. Although the property in on a boulevard it is secluded enough not to be noisy. It's in walking distance to downtown and its main attractions, so it was the perfect fit for me.

Rooms are good a bit run down, but all is made up by the fantastic staff! Well worth a visit!! World class service in a stunning surrounding. "

"After being recommended to attend the restaurant, I was impressed at the outset with the customer service from my phone communications with Timothy (chef) and Nick (manager). As a vegetarian with the exception of chicken, I wasn't impressed with the dinner menu, but after being lured there for dinner I was amazed with the food I ate. It was the first posh restaurant I have experienced in my life where the small quantities of food actually filled me up, making the price great value for money. I also loved how non-exciting menu descriptions resulted in explosions of flavour in my mouth making it a very unique eating experience. I had a starter, main and dessert. The carefulness in thought of what to have in each dish was very evident from the moment each dish I received came with a detailed explanation of what was in it. Myself and my guests were equally surprised with how great everything tasted, particularly when we were reluctant to try non traditional desserts. Each dish we ordered came in a different designed plate, contributing to the clear message that all aspects of the dining experience have been carefully thought. Similarly, the drinks also exceeded expectations. I loved the smoothies and my guests, who requested cocktails to be conjured up based on their preferred tastes, loved what they received. Each drink we ordered came in a different vessel, adding to the excitement of experiencing the unknown. I'm told the dinner menu will change each week, making this a place to visit regularly if it is within one's budget. I also went for brunch a few days later and enjoyed their pancakes. If you love North American pancakes, then it is a dish worth checking out. If I had to give any criticism, it would be to provide a greater selection of vegetarian and chicken dishes for the dinner menu. But, overall, I'm really really glad I went here despite my initial reluctance, and I know my guests had an amazing time too."

Cuca: "Wow"

"This restaurant is one of the best places we have visited. The food is fresh, rustic, with deep bold flavour combinations. What we were confused about and can't believe it's not further on top of other review lists (TA, worlds50 best etc). We came to the conclusion the reason is maybe because it has hearty traditional flavours without too much of an emphasis pushing the menu on a tangent path in less familiar territory creating crazy new boundary-pushing new ideas. I think this is a positive as too many chefs nowadays try to attack and prove to the world how good they are by relying on novelties to make their food stand out. This menu knows what's it does best.Flavours. Don't get me wrong there are still elements of molecular gastronomy but done in an elegant way without compromising on the most important aspect of flavour and texture combinations. Add in that the service that is one of the highest standards that we have seen, attentive yet discreet. The space and how they manage to capture that same balance with the front of house is extraordinary as it blends a buzzing atmosphere with an intamate dining experience at the same moment is a masterstroke of genius. The only downside was that the cocktails didn't measure up to the tall order of the menu. They were tasty but could be better. Everyone at this establishment made our dinner unforgettable for all the right reasons. It is impossible to put into words these tastes and textures and surprising magic moments in a review, all I can say is we smile and laugh about our short time there. It's priceless.
