Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A unique experience, best service you can find"
"We have traveled a lot around the world in both high luxury hotels and small guesthouses, but we must admit that I have rarely had such a nice experience as the one we got at Thahara Inle Heritage. To us, this hotel has it all : the luxury bungalows with quiet private terrace right in the middle of Inle lake (that you would expect to find in a a 5* hotel) and the adorable welcoming service that you can only find in small intimate guesthouses. Plus, the food is divine (and the breakfast, Oh My !) and very much affordable for the location, so what more can we ask for ? Well, you could wish that your money goes to a good cause, and it does. Thahara Inle Heritage is part of the not-for-profit training center that prepare local young people for careers in restaurants and hotels. That explains the amazing and welcoming service ! It also had its own amazing garden full of delicious vegetables, which explains the amazing local cuisine of their restaurant, and works towards full sustainability, so you are assured to contribute to a green stay. You can also take part in one of their cooking class if you have time, surely the best one you can find in the country ! Or you can just wander around the Thahara, pay a visit to their Burmese cat center or check out their local Aquarium. Or you can hop on a boat and head to Nampan market, 5 minutes away, or leave for a memorable boat drive to the Sankar, on the very southern shores of the lake. Endless possibilities, total freedom, breathtaking views. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Myanmar. PS: as for the previous comment, fear nothing if you are a light sleeper, Thahara provides you with earplugs in your room, though we did not need them. And if you are afraid to be cold at night on the lake, you will be happily surprised to find hot water bottles in your bed to warm you up when you come back to your bungalow at night. Brilliant. "Thank you again Poy and your incredible team for welcoming us back with open arms and making us feel like family! A New Years Eve to remember! We where one of your first visitors 3 odd years ago and had no doubt in choosing to stay at Sea Dance again this visit even though there where a 1000 other places to perhaps try! We are still in Thailand, and at our third stop after Sea Dance! Although the venues we have chosen are visually beautiful, none have made us feel as welcome and special as you all did, at Sea Dance! It is really home away from home! We are so proud to see your beautiful resort mature and blossom and get all the awards you are truly due! Our only regret was that we only booked 7 days it went by too quickly! Can't wait to visit again! Hugs to you all! Lisa and Vaughan."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Perfetto"
Papua Paradise was a unique and exciting experience, jungle meets the sea. The bungalows over the water were something I’ve always wanted to experience. The bed was very comfortable and mosquito nets were put up every morning and put down again at night. Every night, the frogs would sing loudly and the birds would wake you in the morning. Excellent timing since there was so much great snorkeling to experience. I especially liked all the hooks in the room for hanging clothing, etc, as well as the drying rack on the porch. The food was plentiful and delicious. There were many choices at each meal, Indonesian and western. Staff were friendly and helpful. The snorkeling in Raja Ampat and the Fam Islands was incredible! Snorkeling the house reefs was in itself a great experience. The house has a front reef, to the left and to the right of the pier as well as a back reef, a short walk to the other side of the resort. We especially enjoyed the front reef to the left facing the island at the end near the last of the bungalows. The dive team were all helpful and knowledgeable. Papua Paradise is rustic but well set up. If you’re out to dive or snorkel, I think you’ll enjoy the resort.Tugu Malang: "An utterly awesome delight!"
"I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Tugu Malang in late May. I readily admit that I am not accustomed to luxury, and I won’t say whether any of you who are would find the Hotel Tugu Malang to be so, but I was delighted by my experience at this hotel, which I found utterly awesome! The bowl of fresh, peelable fruit – replenished each day and complete with a finger bowl holding water and a freshly cut blossom -- was just one sign that I was in a very, very nice hotel. ☺ My room was lovely and was delightfully furnished. Hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was excellent; my mini-fridge was nicely stocked, as was the tray with an electric kettle and French press; there were even washclothes among the many toiletries in the bathroom, which had lots of counter space, a bath with shower, and a window (with blind and drapes) into the bedroom. And if my balcony was tiny, it was still large enough to offer a small seating area and lovely view over the hotel’s pool area. It wasn’t just the room that wowwed me: The daily high tea held an impressive range of treats served in a delightful setting. The hotel’s spa offered a free 15-minute introductory massage. The breakfast (included in my rate) was generous and delicious. The restaurant offered dinners in several different cuisines and even had a decent selection of wines (if at prices reflecting the rareness of wine in Java). The hotel holds some remarkable artifacts, which can be seen on a tour of the property. And last, but certainly not least, the staff provided exceptional service – kudos one and all! My only very small niggle: The pool is not well separated from the restaurant, so I felt simultaneously “on display” and disruptive when I took a dip while diners were enjoying their meals. Just a small thing...."Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "First Impression"
