Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Is heaven better"
We first visited this resort two years ago. Our SECOND visit to this wonderful place included two nights on their houseboat The Lotus and four nights at the resort. It is very difficult to add to previous glowing reviews except to say that it still remains the most lovely experience. The staff are a delight, nothing is too much trouble, the food is of the highest standard and we think a privilege to be able to stay here. The attention to detail is a huge complement to the management.Sanak Retreat Bali: "Stunning view, great boutique resort, overpriced restaurant, great villas."
"Sanak retreat is an wonderful butique hotel. Stunningly beautiful situated in the rice field with an amazing view. The style of the hotel is balinese with a touch of the ""shabby chick"". Most of the villas have two floors. The bottom floor is completely dark and private with plants all around and the top floor is full of light, has a splendid view, windows all around and two porches. So make a deal with your kids before you arrive! No one wants the bottom floor! The resort truly appreciates its surroundings and don't play music, which we highly appreciate!! The restaurant have an equally stunning view, the pool is beautiful with sun beds and rice fields. There were almost no mosquitos when we were there, so you could enjoy all of your evening on the porch. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was fresh and great. They do a great childrens massage in the spa. Climate is wonderful up here. Even a bit chilly in the morning! We also had a 3-hour guided tour to the nearby rice fields and a water fall arranged by the hotel. The guide was absolutely great. Spoke good english and we learned so much about Bali. It was one of our best activities on our trip. We also did a jungle trek and canoo trip on a lake also arranged by the hotel. Also recommendable. So are there any downsides of this pearl of a resort? The restaurant prices were the most expensive we encounted in all of Bali and Gili Trawangan. They charge 35.000 rupiah for a Soft drink/ Coca Cola. You really can't go anywhere nearby to eat or shop and they know it. A little bit unsympathetic to exploit this to that degree. We just came from Pemuteran where the beach front restaurant charged 10.000 rupiahs for the same. Prices were generally the double or even more on comparable food items, e.g. Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, Mixed skewers... Some travel agencies praise their food. We think it was okay, but not more than that. We ate all our meals here for 3 days. They have a childrens menu, but portions are so small that an 8 year old have to order two dishes to be full, so nothing saved there. A pizza is the size of a side plate. Generally the portions are small. We had no hot water for almost our entire stay. They sure tried to fix it but with no succes for more than 3 minutes. Toilets can't take paper, so you are asked to dispose it in a basket next to the toilet. Urgh! So a few downsides, but I will still recommend this boutique resort to anyone who wants to see the best of Bali. It is beautiful and you will enjoy the view!"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Full of Love"
"As their website states the husband and wife team that owns and operates this restaurant are full of love of everything and it shows in the food that they serve, the ambiance and comfort of the restaurant and the many good causes they support. When I emailed the restaurant to book a reservation here is the response that I received: ""Thank you so much for your reservation. We will set up a nice table for you on terrace. Thank you so much. With best regards, Lin Lin"". Right from the start I had no doubt that I had picked a great place to dine in Yangon. Felix is a Michelin Starred Chef who has worked in many restaurants in Europe and his wife and partner Lucia is a wonderful hostess and manager for the restaurant. Lucia came by our table several times during our dinner to visit with us and we had several amazing conversations with her about their history as husband and wife in the restaurant industry. We learned from Lucia that she and Felix decided that they wanted more than what Europe had to offer and traveled to Malaysia to open a restaurant there and then continued on to Myanmar where they found their dream location. The food that they serve at Seeds is absolutely outstanding, made from very fresh local ingredients and the servings are generous. Between each course we were provided with small snacks that were also amazing. At the end of our dinner we were inundated with incredible desserts even after saying that we could not eat any more food. We took what we could not eat back to our hotel and we had a wonderful treat for the next day. During our conversations with Lucia she explained how much they love supporting the local farmers, the local meat producers, the local people and also the community of Myanmar as a whole. After leaving Yangon my wife and I have talked about Seeds a lot, how wonderful the food was and how wonderful and giving Felix and Lucia are. We hope that everyone who visits Myanmar will include dining at Seeds during their visit for the great food that they serve, the great causes that they support and their love of everything that they do."Tugu Malang: "Luxury and services are beyond expectation"
"I was there only for a day and wish to come back soon. The room was impecable, perfect with a touch of personal welcome in a card. Our room facing the front hotel but not noisy at all. The bedsheet was super clean and it was a standard five hotel services and facility. The amenities was not much but enough. Small pool but convenient enough for children. Good selection of breakfast with some a la carte menu. The hospitality is unbelievably super friendly. A typical warm small size five star hotel that you would never experience in a big busy hotel. This hotel was beautiful in a an outdated way, and you may find it quite spooky at the back part, but for some, it may be the point of attraction. "Tugu Bali: "Amazing fabulous decor"
We had a lovely dinner at this charming Oriental/Chinese/Asian art inspired restaurant serving Japanese food. Quality of the food was quite good although the staff really need more training with the menu. They weren't sure about the dishes when we asked them and served us a couple of dishes which needed to b changed as it wasn't what we ordered. Overall though it's a really nice restaurant to take friends to for the charming decor and experience. The Island Lodge: "Natural elegance."
The Island Lodge is a luxury property in a natural location. The ambience is unique in the Mekong Delta. The pool, the food, the rooms, the staff, the welcome, the good-bye, the attention to detail in every regard are nothing short of spectacular. This is a 5-star resort in an otherwise humble Delta surrounding. Although the prices are considerably higher than the local competition, the value is definitely there. If you want to pamper yourself in every way, this is your destination in the Mekong Delta. Everything you need is available on the premises. We went on a boat trip to a floating market, and the Lodge provided us with one of their staff to act as our personal guide, without additional cost. Every detail is covered.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Great time"
"I loved it! From the first steps we made into the camp, till the minute we had to leave. Noel´s Safari Camp is probably the best and most ecological way of luxury living around the national park. Every tent has a comfy bed with netted windows, monkeysafe and outdoor styled bathroom facilities, solar lights, eco soap and wonderfully scented and clean towels and linen. Although we knew that we´re already in the national park, surrounded by wildlife we felt totally safe. We sadly didn´t get the chance to see any leopards on our safary, but the fact that we could spot lots of other animals in their natural environment itself is woth going there."Sea Dance Resort: "FLAWLESS — one of the biggest highlights of our Thailand trip"
We visited Koh Samui at the very end of our 2-week Thailand trip &, specifically, Sea Dance Resort. Our stay was, honestly, flawless. It started with a very quaint, beautiful, well-cared for resort where we were warmly greeted upon arrival & given some nice juice drinks as a welcome. Then, we went to our bungalow/room which was so stinkin' cool! It's this round, stand-alone building with a king bed in the center, little desk & day bed along the wall (which our 8 year-old son slept in comfortably). Even better, the shower, toilet & vanity were connected & outdoors. It was really special & well-done. We happened to arrive on a Wednesday evening & every week they do a complimentary happy hour from 6-7 by the water & you have a terrific cocktail or glass or wine by the sea & a band plays. You socialize with the staff & we particularly enjoyed talking to Rory, who we soon learned owns the resort. He is SO kind & personable & caring about his guests, as is the entire staff (Faith, Helen, John, etc.), I was impressed that they learned/knew my & my families names immediately & there IS a casualness to everyone yet their service is spot-on. Little examples-- we were goofing around in the pool & when we came out fresh towels & glasses of water were on our chairs. On one hot day they brought around gin & tonic popsicles for the adults, juice popsicles for the kids. The breakfasts are excellent with an egg station, tons of fresh fruits & pastries, Asian foods, cereal, juices, espresso drinks & so on. There are kayaks & SUPs you can borrow & lots of beautiful places throughout the resort where you can sit on a bench & relax. The staff took a particular liking to my son & went above & beyond by allowing him to feed their koi fish, giving him little treats, etc. We encountered a couple from S Africa who said they could "travel anywhere" but they choose to come back to Koh Samui & more specifically Sea Dance again & again because of the staff & resort; that spoke volumes. I have traveled a lot & Sea Dance is in my Top 3, best hotel experiences, ever. Partly because of the wonderful resort, even moreso because of the people. The Island Lodge: "Excellent"
"We really enjoyed our stay at The Island Lodge. We went in December for our holidays, and our experience was by far the best. We can't say thank you enough for your immaculate service, and very beautiful hotel. The food was delicious, good cuisine with a french touch, mixed with the traditional Vietnamese gastronomy. We recommend The Island Loge 100%. You will certainly enjoy your stay there, I know we did! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"The Hue House: "Lovely Restaurant"
The place so nice, staff so lovely... and food also delicious. You should to come in the everning and enjoy this place.
