Maison Polanka: "An oasis of calm"

Review by: RogerAM | Source: Trip Advisor
Tranquil hotel in a tempest of tourism. Friendly and helpful staff made our stay a delight. Nearly forgot to mention the food which was cooked to perfection. Really sutle flavours, we just loved it. Pick the yellow room if you can.

Labyrinth: "Blown away experience"

It was a very pleasant dinner experience we had! We were looking forward to the next dish being served and each dish just keeps getting better. Recommend this place for anniversary, or a romantic dinner.

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing experience"

Review by: Brittany G | Source: Trip Advisor
"I had a very enjoyable experience on my two night stay at Noel Rodrigo's Leopard Safaris. The accommodations were great and the food was wonderful. The team was very friendly and the guides very knowledgeable. The team takes care of every detail of the stay so I didn't have to worry about anything. After every game drive, the staff was waiting to greet us with fresh cool towels and water. Overall, a wonderful and amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for adventure without compromising on comfort."

Tugu Lombok: "The best hotel I have stayed at by far"

Review by: Indigo C | Source: Trip Advisor
"Hotel Tugu Lombok was the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed at so far. It has beautiful grounds - even if the rest of the hotel was terrible [though it certainly isn't] you'd stay there just for the scenery. The rooms are really gorgeous with traditional Indonesian decorations and a beautiful bath. The food was lovely and the dining areas were gorgeous like the rest of the hotel. We were very impressed with the dinner one night as the staff set us up with a table on the beach. The staff were incredibly accommodating and were able to find us a room at short notice [we'd left another hotel and come here]. The hotel is expensive but you can really see why. I can't recommend Hotel Tugu Lombok enough. Stayed April 2016, traveled with family"

David’s Kitchen: "If there were more places like this in the world"

Review by: EatOutOften21 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I wish I could explain the ambience of this restaurant without you experiencing it first hand. I know I can't do it justice with words alone, but for the purpose of the review I'll try: ""crisp table cloths, meet the friendly, wonderful and chatty waiting staff to create a pristine yet comfortable place to enjoy a great meal."" I started with the scallops and I wasn't disappointed. Perfectly cooked and presented, with a wonderful Sauvignon to compliment. For main course I had the steak which was again perfectly cooked and served with some great sides. At this point I was lucky enough to have a chat with the owner, a wonderful man with a great story about how him and his wife created this special place. He explained the dessert menu and I was drawn to the soufflé, given it was accompanied by Prom's home made ice cream it seemed the logical choice. And it was beautiful. If you're looking for fine dining a with a wonderful heart, give this place a try when you're in Chang Mai"

Villa Song: "Colonial luxury at a reasonable price."

Review by: John S | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Villa Song for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and efficient, giving tips about taxi scams to avoid and guiding us to very good excursions to both the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong Delta. There is a complimentary private water taxi from the hotel’s jetty into the centre of Ho Chi Minh city which made the journey much quicker, more scenic and gave a touch of exclusivity. The hotel is well appointed, our room had a river view and was really quite big. It had all the things you’d want as well as a lovely view of the river. The hotel itself is very attractive, in a colonial style with a sweeping staircase and plenty of airy space. The pool is a good size (perhaps 25m) and there is plenty of loungers etc, thick towels and an adjacent gym. Although we didn’t use it much the fact that the mini bar was complimentary was a nice touch. My only criticism would be that the laundry service was unnecessarily expensive with it costing over 1 million Dong to have a few shirts, shorts and underwear washed and pressed. Admittedly we did use the express service but it just felt like it was more expensive than it needed to be, especially in a place where you’d want to wear an ironed shirt and shorts. I must point out that the cost of the service was clear before we used it with a full audited list completed by the guest and the hotel, so there were no surprises. The restaurant has a very nice set menu or a la carte although the set menu didn’t change over our three night stay. We ate there twice and enjoyed the food both times. We also ate in the restaurant of the hotel next door which, whilst it was nice, was not of the same quality (or price, quite a bit cheaper) and the service was a little rushed. My wife used the spa and felt her pedicure was well done and good value for money. All round I’d say if you like a bit of luxury and are happy to pay for it you’d be hard pressed to find a better location than Villa Song and I’d happily go back again another time."

THE ISLAND LODGE: "Scherer"

Review by: martin05 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"The Island Lodge is a marvellous place! An oasis in the middle of a special place almost a junge beside the river. The view is historic, peaceful and really unique. There is nothing to compare with the Island Lodge in the area! The owner Michel and his wife Francoise are exceptional hosts not because of a necessity but because of a natural true passion to receive their guests with warmth and friendliness. It is a really comfortable feeling after traveling down from the chaos and noise of Ho Chi Minh! Breakfast is á la carte, it is slow and easy going just like the Mekong. Dinner is more or less the same. Lots of choice and lots of taste and just so comfortable. One of the best parts of this residence has to be the interior design. Michel did almost everything himself and if he ever gives up the Hotel business he could certainly try his hand at ID!! He has taste and style which is very seldom in a hotel of this size. Usually boutique hotels get a little Kitsch over load. Not here the attention to detail is impressive and highly soothing just before a early afternoon nap! The pool is big and super practical! And make sure you go with Michel on a bike tour. Probably something that will stay with me for ever for all the right reasons! Don't bother looking at any other place if you want to stay a few days in the Delta "

The Village House: "Fantastic place to unwind"

Review by: neonblue3612 | Source: Trip Advisor
"A beautiful little hotel about 40 minutes out of Kuching centre. The room was great, the 4 post bed was comfy( and squeaky!) The air con was a great relief. The bathroom was clean and the linen was fluffy. The staff were very attentive and friendly. On site they have a kitchen you can order reasonably priced food and there is a bar that is also well priced. I really enjoyed the food but I didn't trying any western dishes other than a sandwich. When we left for our red-eye flight the staff gave us sandwiches for the trip. There are some deck chairs around the pool that are shaded and the pool is clean, warm and adds to the overall relaxing vibe. There's beautiful gardens too. The ponds and fountains also added to the relaxing nature. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to unwind and relax. They also run trips from the hotel to all the major touristy bits and they can book taxis and airport transfers."

Sanak Retreat Bali: "With humanity, kindness and perfection in mind"

Review by: maisonrose13 | Source: Trip Advisor
Most guests stop for 2 to 3 days and all regret not to have remained in sanak longer...and they are right. My son ( 8 years old) and I set base for 8 nights and had the most wonderful experience. The weather is light and sunny when it is raining in Ubud. The location is lovely with a great clear view of paddy fields and mountains. The villa, we stayed in 104, are discretly nested away from one another and are perfectly appointed . Dining outside sanak is not an option but that is fine as the food is reasonably priced but above all delicious. The spa just dreamlike is excellent . But what makes the difference is sanak staff under the stewardship of Sebastian that makes you feel like family. Efficient with a smile, kind and attentive, ibu jero delighted us with her cooking class, gusti her husband took us to a memorable school visit and berli was just the best guide, caring and so funny. We left with sadness but above unforgettable memories of special place away from what bali has now become.
