Satri House: "Beautiful"

"We stayed at Satri Hotel for two nights for our 20th wedding anniversary. We left the kids at home and it was perfect. The staff were kind and helpful without being intrusive and our stay was wonderfully relaxing. The whole hotel is beautifully presented and tastefully decorated. Our room was a good size and had no TV which added to the old world atmosphere. The hotel is a bit out of town (about 10-15mins walk) but there are bikes you can borrow to get you there quicker. Because of this the hotel is peaceful and like an oasis. We would go back again."

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Lovely hotel and fantastic young staff"

You would be surprised to find that this a training school for young people, funded by the owner of the other luxury hotel Inle Princess Resort. The hotel is nicely appointed and built as stilt houses on water. There are only a few rooms so it is very private and exclusive. The young staff are well trained and helpful so service is on par with any luxury hotel. Food is great. Highlight of the day for us was having a beer at the bar and watched the sun set. Out of this world.

"excellent accueil depuis aeroport puis a la reception arrivee en bateau sans bruit les marins paguiyant avec leur jambes accueil en francais les chambres sont dans des maisons particulieres en bois dominant le lac jardins superbes et bien entretenus piscine tres bien située et equipee permettant de nazger apres les superbes visites des villages du lac restaurant excellent avec une tres bonne carte les petit dejeuner se prennent sur la terasse dominant le lacavec un bon buffet le service est excellent partout ne pas manquer le spa superbe avec des bungalows enormes des fleurs partout ds le jardin environant"

Sukoon Houseboat: "paradise"

We had a lovely time at Sukoon. High end houseboat with heating, fancy bathroom with a bath - it is a five star experience. It has a lovely sun deck - perfect to lounge in the evening sun, read a book, just watch life go by and sundowners. It is in one corner of the Dal lake so pretty private. Highly recommended!

Misool Eco Resort: "An incredible marine experience"

Andrew and Marit have accomplished the almost-impossible by building this remote, luxurious resort on an island in Raja Ampat, mostly from driftwood, and without a fresh-water source. It is a dive resort, but we are snorkelers, and were extremely well taken care of by Andrew, Marit, Mark, Sue, Calvin, two wonderful men both named Ali in the restaurant, and also young "Soo press", and the lovely masseuses Banne and Reeshna at the spa. We were assigned a private boat driven by the excellent Sam Saul and a private guide, "Son" (for Nelson), who took us on very many enlightening snorkelling excursions near the island. We even swam with 3 manta rays at "Magic Mountain"! We were in paradise! The conservation philosophy of this resort is commendable and inspiring, and we were left with a feeling of hopefulness for the future of this marine habitat. Well done, Andrew and Marit, and staff!

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Wonderful safari"

"My husband and I had the most magical 2 nights here and absolutely loved everything about it! We had been warned that the Sri Lankan safaris were very different to African ones and so had tempered our expectations, but there was no need as we had the most amazing time and saw so much wildlife. Sajeet, Praneeth and the whole team were exceptionally knowledgeable and a font of fascinating information and we learnt so much. My husband is the bird enthusiast but after 4 drives spotting the most beautiful birds, I felt the start of a new passion! We were incredibly lucky to see some wonderful leopard sitings, made more special and exciting by the fact that we had two drives without seeing any. However those two drives were just as thrilling because of all the other wildlife that we saw - elephants, land monitors, crocodiles, star tortoise, mongoose, monkeys and the most stunning kingfishers, wood peckers, fish owl, fly catchers to name but a few. The tents were surprisingly comfortable and an evening open shower by moonlight was very special. The food was absolutely delicious with good wines and very atmospheric drinks before dinner and the most charming and friendly staff. Couldn't fault it and highly recommend this camp! Huge thanks as well for the wonderful photos taken by Praneeth that Sophie forwarded! Such great photos and so thrilled to have them as iPhones really don't cut with wildlife photography.... Sandat Glamping Tents: "Perfect"

"We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The ‘tents’ are luxurious and the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much. They offer a free shuttle into Ubud which is very convenient. The shuttle to and from the airport is reasonably priced. I’d recommend for ease to use them as the vehicle is comfortable for the long drive. The declarations throughout the ‘resort’ are carefully thought and eclectic giving an almost grand feel. The food is lovely as are the drinks! For anyone coming to Ubud I’d recommend nowhere else."

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Excellent for a very reasonable price"

"I am a creature of habits so I return to places I like. It was great to see The Apsara still going strong. It has been spruce up a big, not that it needed to (aircon in my favourite room, number 7, changed and quieter). This is a truly boutique hotel, located in the heard of the UNESCO designated area and a short walk to everything. Staff is excellent, but as expected in Lao, English can be challenging, which is part of the charm. Any issues in respect of reservation, tours are sorted out by Loun, the experienced and knowledgeable front office manager. Rooms are enormous and have a very Indochina feeling to them. Breakfast is lovely. An excellent and well know restaurant with a lovely bar is located here. A truly delight to return. Stayed October 2016, traveled solo"

Villa Song Saigon: "don’t wanna tell anybody” kind of hotel"

The quiet river view makes you feel you are far away from the lively life of HCMC. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel so much. It was a relaxing experience, especially the boat riding in the afternoon was so wonderful. Spa and swimming pool was also nice. Quite a memorable stay.

Reverie Siam: "Simply outstanding"

This place is a hidden pearl worth the long way of 762 curves on route from Chiangmai and we simply loved it so much that we didn't want to leave. Great atmosphere, service, stylish rooms and gardens as well as one of the best places for yoga in the early morning. The food is a innovative mix of tradition and experiments with new ideas, most of it really worth trying. Definitely one of the best cappuccinos in Thailand. We also liked a lot the concept for breakfast that you order a la carte. Things for improvement - bathrooms could do with a little more privacy and water saving. Overall it's a place to come back to.
