Yandabo Home: "Wonderful hotel that tastes like home"

Review by: Marian B | Source: Trip Advisor
Coming from the busy and noisy Yangon, spending two days in Yandabo Home makes you feel like in heaven. Beautiful rooms with a crazy chic style; very few places like this in Myanmar. One of the best trained staff in the country. Totally worth going!!!

Satri House: "Delightful hotel near the center of town"

Review by: andydchen | Source: Trip Advisor
"Very very well done property. The rooms aren't fancy, but they are very comfortable, spacious, clean, and restful. The property is so well designed and manicured. I keep saying to my wife, if I could design a home from stratch, I would design it like the Satri House. Amazing court yards, nooks, crannies, stairways, arcs, balcony just fit together to create an amazing collection of spaces. Service was amazing esp at breakfast. The breakfast itself was simple but very well executed. One of the best hotel experiences we have had. Spa was ok. We had a couples massage and it didn't impress us."

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing"

Review by: OKWhite | Source: Trip Advisor
"My husband and I stayed at the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge in October for 5 nights and it was simply not enough! We loved the resort, its surroundings, tours and people working in it so much, that we felt like staying there forever! It was superb! The journey to the resort is spectacular! Nature surrounding the lodge is simply magnificent! Real paradise! We truly loved it! The lodge itself is wonderful, very well laid-out and well-decorated. Rooms are really spacious and the shower wooden cabin is fabulous! Tours are fabulous! Really interesting and definitely worth taking. The lovely guides are incredibly accommodating and very friendly. In fact, they were fantastic. We really enjoyed our time with them and we actually wish we took few more tours with them. The wonderful restaurant requires a special praise! It was superb!!!! The food was delicious and really plentiful. We were spoilt and we loved it! And the wonderful and really talented chef is only 17! His food was superb! Gordon Ramsey has a serious competition there! The wonderful young men working at the front of the house and restaurant were incredibly sweet and hospitable! They were true gentlemen! Incredibly welcoming and kind. We will definitely miss everyone at the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge! It was superb! Huge thank you to everyone at the resort for making our time simply magical! With much appreciation, Olga and Alan White from Ireland!"

Tugu Malang: "Tempo Doeloe feeling"

Review by: Henk58 | Source: Trip Advisor
The hotel is a mixture of luxury and history. The rooms give a feel of the "good" (only for the Dutch) colonial old times, with the hand hammered baths. And the whole atmosphere is the hotel is friendly and service minded. The for is excellent and the hotel itself has a fantastic mix of antiquities within its walls (Chinese (most), Dutch and Indonesian. It was a pleasure going to the rooms with my 17 year old daughter and see her recognize drawings and pictures of Kublai Kahn and Sun Yat Sen. Great hotel.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Simply amazing and unforgettable"

Review by: Melsy1 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed in tent 6 north for 2 nights...we do have regrets about our stay. And that is basically the fact that we didn't stay longer. This place is beautiful. A friendly welcome on arrival as we then took a boat ride to the resort. Having just come from Phnom Penh the first thing that hits you is the calmness. A further friendly and informative welcome once we reached the resort. We arrived mid afternoon and took advantage of the wonderful food and sipped a couple of beers on the deck in front of our superb accommodation. The sheer size of the tents and the comfort factor and ammenities available are fantastic. I loved the fact you could unzip the tent to allow you to see the beautiful surroundings at all times. As well as allowing a subtle breeze. The fans provided help with the heat and humidity and the bed is large and comfortable. I love how EVERYTHING moves with the flow of boats passing or people walking on the walkways. Dinner choices are required in advance where you can choose the set menu of the day or simply pick what you like from the standard menu. Breakfast choices are also required in advance. The food is very tasty and the restaurant staff very polite and efficient. We enjoyed a trip to the waterfall. Our 2 guides and boat driver were very good and also great fun. Very interesting to hear how they now have jobs at the resort having been poachers. We arrived prior to anyone else and it was great. The water is warm to swim and the scenery gorgeous. Butterflies everywhere and of course the flowing falls. Fried rice cooked fresh on boar for lunch which was delicious. A thunderstorm started upon our return boat trip..I'm not good with lighting and I'll never forget the guides 'ducking' and 'cowaring' with each lightning strike...when I saw what damage the lightning strikes had caused to their coconut trees you'd understand why. Thankfully after watching the rain fall with such force into the river as we arrived back it stopped. We went on the free trip to see the fire flies. Stunning and so bizarre that they all congregate to one tree..it flashes like a Christmas tree...but it much more beautiful...and the stars...in such darkness the stars are so bright. We were off to Kep after here and were so glad to be given the choice of when we departed. 8am 10am or 12pm. We went with the later time so to optimise our time. Using this to take a leisurely breakfast and to take the kayaks out for a paddle round the island. We saw rhinoceros hornbills and archer fish. Highly recommend 4 rivers. Long may it stay exactly as it is"

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Outstanding creative meal by a wunderkind chef"

Review by: Anupam S | Source: Trip Advisor
I went to Le Du after several excellent meals in Bangkok, which is a foodie heaven. i was blown away by the creativity and the unusual flavours. Le du offers a terrific changing set menu from which to choose. For starters, I had the shrimp-pork ball with jasmine ice cream, intense and succulent. Followed by an adventurous ant larvae-in-fish-fermented sauce - it was unusual in texture and flavour, memorable. Then an interesting chicken dish and a finger-licking dessert. The staff are young and enthusiastic, and the open kitchen provides some theatrics. Chef Ton, a young Thai, was personally supervising. All in all, Le du was an eye-opener, and showing the way forward for fusion food

Nimmu House: "Escale chaleureuse"

Review by: jakylou | Source: Trip Advisor

Misool Eco Resort: "Spectacular and Amazing vacation"

Review by: Timmi002 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Wow, how does one write a review about paradise. This place is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth with diving that surely rivals the best on earth. From A to Z, this place is top notch. We stayed in Water Cottage 1 right by the Dive Shop and loved the proximity to our daily dive ritual. The cottage itself is gorgeous, all made from salvaged local wood. The outdoor bathroom/shower is perfect for the setting, full of eco-friendly bath products. The veranda is amazing with lounge chairs, a bed and a hammock (over the lagoon), offering incredibly views of the lagoon and fish down below, plus stairs down to lagoon for easy access for swimming or snorkeling or just a dip to cool off. The cottage was cleaned and refreshed every morning during our first dive. The bed set up with the AC and mosquito netting is tastefully done and did in fact prevent mosquitos from getting in while keeping us cool and comfortable at night. The food was delicious from morning till night. Fresh bread, tasty homemade granola, egg dishes, smoothies, juices, salads, desserts, fish, chicken, pasta, etc. And I can't forget to mention the fresh baked fantastic cookies served every afternoon. The chef serves a wide variety of great food to keep the guests sustained and ready to spend their days diving or snorkeling. They also serve a wide variety of wine and some beer. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent service. As for the diving, well, it's impossible to really describe other than to say it is out of this world. Since returning I have decided the best way to describe it is like in the cartoons such as Finding Nemo or The Little Mermaid. The incredible variety of coral really is THAT colorful and gorgeous. The fish really are that big and stunning. Tons of schools of all sorts of fish - bump heads, snapper, giant trivially, and batfish. Plus sharks, turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, sea horses, starfish, sea worms, banner fish, clown fish and the list goes on. But the coup de grace of Misool diving is the manta ray. Massive and majestic creatures that are otherworldly. I could dive with them all day and never get bored. The organization of the diving is the best I have ever experienced. Extreme attention is paid to safety. I always felt in good hands thanks to all the staff including Calvin and Sabine, but especially our amazing and caring dive master James. We went diving with him for 8 days on the same boat with the same equipment master and speedboat driver. They were so kind and thoughtful, I wanted to take them home with me. There was something amazing to see on every single dive. The one down side about this place is that we had to leave. And I do believe that I am now forever spoiled. Misool Eco Resort is truly a 5 star destination."
