Nimmu House: "Charming, peaceful, warm and stunning"
"Difficult to say what is best: the house? the tents? the whole staff? the location? the views? We had an amazingly fulfilling 7-day stay at Nimmu House. Met some great people. Had some great long chats. Had beautiful walks. Even had a very nice bicycle ride. The beauty of the valley and the surrounding mountains, the feeling of equanimity. It is pretty hard to beat such an experience."Muang La Lodge: "A little piece of paradise"
"Great place - pure luxury a couple of hundred kilometers north of Luang Prabang. The manager could not have done more to make us comfortable - the food is excellent - and if you need more then they can deal with that (if younger them know). It's not cheap - by Lsos standards - but compares very well with other luxury hotels. Breakfast was brilliant - for the Pain au Chocolat they must flythe flour in from France and have a real French oven. Go for it - you deserve it Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Bali: "Wonderful Experience"
"If you are looking for a luxury hotel which upon entry you feel like you are in a warm home filled with beautiful antiques and lovely friends, stay at Hotel Tugu Bali. The rooms are beautifully decorated with wooden floors, four poster beds, day lounges, and unique lamps/dressers/etc. We stayed in room 208 which overlooks a pond filled with water lilies directly below and the ocean in view (and earshot). The room layout included a partially enclosed room with a day bed, sunken tub and seating area-a perfect area to have breakfast and/or dinner. The food was delicious-both breakfast and dinner included a variety of local options, including tasting plates. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. My sister took a floral arranging class with Dek, who is extremely talented and showed her how to make beautiful offerings. Massages are very good-highly recommended. Once at the hotel there is no reason to leave-it is an experience in itself. However, the hotel is located about a 2 minute walk to the beach and 2 minute walk to an area which has many restaurants and shops. "During our recent trip to Myanmar, we enjoyed our first luncheon at the newly opened Seeds Restaurant in Yangon. What a great welcome to Yangon! The arrival experience was breathtaking, with a very impressive interior design and a great view over the Inya Lake, and a Lotus Pont right in front of the stunning gardens. The Seeds Restaurant offers a fine dining experience on the highest level, with a very elegant table setup and custom-designed chinaware that perfectly pairs with the food. In fact, we enjoyed our experience so much that we actually came back again after 2 days to dine again at Seeds. I wish to offer a big compliment to the service team, because they offered such attentive and professional service under the guidance of Lucia. And of course, the food offered such a highlight to the whole experience, which was prepared by the award-wining Micheline star Chef Felix and his team. Being a retired hotelier, it was such a delight and a gourmet experience on the highest level. I highly recommend dining here – it is worth every penny for such an excellent experience…one to be remembered!"The Cabochon Hotel: "The Best Exotic Cabochon Hotel"
"Have spent five fabulous days at the Cabochon Hotel and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff are amazing. From Rin at the front desk to the wait staff they are so friendly and helpful. We even had the head cook in the kitchen show us some special recipes for the delicious chillie paste. The Hendricks G&T were the best! The restaurant is authentic Thai food beautiful prepared and presented. 5 star. The hotel is exquisitely decorated in plantation colonial style. Every detail is considered. The showers are fantastic. Loved every minute of my stay with the cabochon Hotel."Tugu Bali: "A night in historic Bali"
"Tugu Hotels in Indonesia are all one-of-a-kind experiences. You don't stay at a Tugu just for a place to lay your head; you stay to immerse yourself in the history of each Tugu's region. Tugu Bali is no exception. First, it is beautiful, truly beautiful. You cross the entry bridge and know you are in a different world. There is a small, perfect museum dedicated to interpreting the puputan when Balinese committed suicide rare than submit to Dutch rule. The ""lobby"" is more a great, dimly cool hall with private dining or meeting areas around it. The upper floor provides views of the ocean, and the pool is an intimate and welcoming space. Across the road is a new lawn with a deck on which to sip a cocktail beach-side as you watch the sun set into the ocean. The individual rooms are lovely and have private plurge pools as well as lovely soaking tubs in private gardens. We were in Room 101 and thought it perfect. We ended up trying this restaurant from the recommendation of the head chef of Lecuisine Wat Damnak (another review), and we loved it. Cozy fine dining restaurant, where we ended up trying some of the a la carte dishes instead of the degustation menu. Really enjoyed the food (new Khmer dishes) and atmosphere, and even despite a heavy rainstorm, which caused a semi-flood in the outdoor seating area. Made it extra cozy.Maduzi Hotel: "Good value"
Great value hotel, decent service, quick check in. Location ok have sukhimvit or thonglor in easy distance. Free mini bar for all soft drinks. Breakfast was included and pretty decent. My only comment would be the coffee and front gate welcome wasn't great.Cuca: "Wonderful dining experience with superb service"
One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had. You can sit inside or outside in the beautiful and spacious garden. There are also limited says available looking directly into the kitchen where you can see e chefs preparing. We chose the chefs selection menu and found that all the dishes were delicious, and very well presented. The real highlight for myself, and for my girlfriend who doesn't care for seafood was the smoked butterfish - make sure you try this it's unbelievable. The meat and potatoes dish, which is essentially a dressed up shepherds pie, is the real surprise. I've eaten many in my time but none so rich and warming as this. Seasoned absolutely perfectly. The desserts are also very good and the cocktails are incredible! They do double measures of each one which really made me happy! Finally the superb service of the ultra friendly staff has to be noted - from the moment we stepped in- and to when our waiter escorted us to our taxi outside. A memorable evening.Manda De Laos: "A gem"
We went here as it was close to our hotel and it was pouring with rain. We were not disappointed, the setting was lovely, set around a pond and beautifully lit. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Well worth a visit.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
