"We stayed for 3 nights and were very pleased with the helpful and friendly staff. Our room was large and comfortable and the food excellent. The Hotel is within walking distance of the night market. We highly recommend Satri House. "The Village House: "Great stay away from the buzz"
"We stayed in April, trip with my mother. This hotel was a little further out but they were so great at helping to arrange transport and packages before we arrived: orang utans, bake national park etc. The hotel was small, simple, clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, but what was most surprising was the food! It was delicious, perfectly prepared. A walk along the beautiful, wild beach is also definitely recommended. Not a swimming, crystal clear waters beach, but wild and gorgeous. I would recommend for a quiet getaway in a great location!"Villa Mathis: "La Villa Mathis de mes rèves"
"Tous simplement sublime. Jean-François et Marjorie."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Relax and revive – the perfect place"
"We arrived in the dark after a tiring ten-hour car drive from Kochi and I thought I heard thunder. In fact it was the Arabian Sea pounding the extensive beach and in the morning we could see this magical place. A healthy breakfast on the beach and we were ready to relax. Many have given full positive descriptions so I don’t need to repeat those and the web site is accurate. Instead I will highlight just a few things that impressed me. I now have to watch my diet carefully and the wholemeal breads, fresh fruits, variety of fish are perfect. The menu includes various juices and I went for spinach but asked for some ginger too; I bet that will be on the list next time. All the food is superb, healthy and interesting. The aerial sketch on the website does not do it justice; there are many palm trees and the gardens are quite beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Contrary to some other comments I would recommend a sea view cottage without hesitation. There are only 18 cottages and they are carefully arranged; the peace is almost tangible. In fact the whole place has been designed by a skilful hand with great attention to detail and that includes the cottage interiors. Anyone who reads my reviews will know that I look at issues that might be relevant to those with mobility problems. There are a few steps to each cottage but the pathways should be OK. Internally the doors have very strong springs and help would be needed. For those with weak knees or limited use of limbs may find the bathroom a bit difficult. As a retired architect I know how it grates to put in grab handles. I hope the owners will consider seriously putting one close to the WC and another in the wonderful non-slip shower area. These things are important for those in need but I must emphasise that standard of design is very high. I wanted a full Ayurvedic body massage and had three; all were excellent. All that others have said about the atmosphere, management, welcoming and helpful staff etc. I endorse. No one could want for anything more. My wife and I seriously considered extending our week-long stay which is a testament in itself. Room Tip: Sea view cottage but all seemed very good."Tugu Bali: "My kind of Paradise!"
It was one of a kind romantic experience to stay in Tugu Bali Hotel. All was amazing there! The hotel is a kind of a museum, exhibiting a collection of ancient Asian art and crafts, sellected by the owner himself. Walking on alleys, passing through the lobby or some of the restaurants, you not only enjoy the design, but you learn a lot about the culture in details. The romantic villas make you feel more than special. My husband and I are higly impressed by Tugu Bali!Maison Polanka: "An oasis of calm"
Tranquil hotel in a tempest of tourism. Friendly and helpful staff made our stay a delight. Nearly forgot to mention the food which was cooked to perfection. Really sutle flavours, we just loved it. Pick the yellow room if you can.Maison Polanka: "Natural luxury"
I recently stayed at Maison Polanka, it was such a welcome change and surprise to what I am used to staying; This Resort really is your home away from home; the staff welcome you like family, the intimacy of this place really has such a warm charm that makes you feel immediately at home; The team headed by General Manager Cathy, were exceptional, they were so attentive, friendly and could do enough to make our stay most memorable; I stayed in the Green room, which had an amazing balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and the perfect retreat to relax, read a book with a gin & Tonic. They made all the arrangements for a private guide to Angkor Wat, where we went for the Sunrise, what a Magical experience, followed by a picnic on the river bank; this truly was one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had. If you are looking for a relaxing, cosy place to stay I highly recommend Maison Polanka.Manukan Island Resort: "Really worth the price and best ever for manukau island!"
We booked a hillside villa and the view is amazing! It’s nearer to the resorts private beach and far from the public beach which has a lot of tourists during daytime. The hillside villa is a cozy and clean and tidy bungalow. The only thing I wouldn’t like much in the island I think is the sunset point, which we walked for approx. 1/2 hour but just couldn’t see the sunset as the sun was covered by the cloud! And I have forgotten to bring the torch light so we have to walk in the dark in the forest trail! Other than that everything is so perfect and terrific! I give it a five star! The River Resort: "Luxury retreat on the Mekong river."
Lovely peaceful resort style hotel. The location is right on the banks of the Mekong with most rooms looking directly across the river. The rooms are very spacious, clean and very well laid out. The restaurant caters to both western and local cuisines with lots of choices, all very good. The spa is good although our massages were not consistent. There are two nice pools to choose between. The staff were exceptional. The wifi was also good.
