Glenburn Tea Estate: "Enchanting and Nostalgic Tea Estate with Majestic Views"
I had been trying to come to Glenburn for over 10 years and was afraid it would disappoint. It exceeded our expectations! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the entire estate has an old-world feel to it. It is situated in a majestic valley with views of Kanchenjunga. We took lovely walks each day. I especially appreciated the customer service and attention to detail. We had tea upon demand and amazing food. The prices might seem high, but considering that everything is included (food, excursions, transportation to/from the Bagdogra airport, etc.) the prices seem fair. I really loved the tea tour and thank Parveen (and Ranjan) for sharing their knowledge and making our stay so special. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests and having meals together -- it was a unique experience and we got to know many people on top of their game in different fields. We stayed four nights, which was ideal. I would love to return and highly recommend Glenburn Tea Estate for anyone looking for a picturesque getaway!Muang La Lodge: "Comfort in Northern Laos"
"This was our second trip to Laos and we decided to go further afield to the northern part of the country to trek and explore the region. The Muang La resort was a very welcome refuge in an area that has really not seen considerable investment in tourism infrastructure. The resort is all inclusive and does a very good job looking after its guests. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and offer up nice views of the river and mountains. Our three days of trekking were organized by the hotel. Each day was a discovery, and while strenuous, our hiking took us up mountains to remote villages inhabited by Khmu and Hmong. We also visited jungle waterfalls, local markets, temples and rice fields. Our guide was terrific and he gave us access to places I'm sure we would not have been able to discover. After a challenging day of hiking, it was great to get back to the hotel, soak in one of the hot tubs fed by a natural spring, have a swim in the pool, accessed by a bridge suspended across the river, and play with the adorable baby monkey adopted by the hotel staff. The food at the hotel was very good - with diverse choices available, including both Laotian and foreign food. The hotel provided us with packed lunches for our treks, typically a rice or noodle preparation wrapped in banana leaf, accompanied by local fruits. There are nice walks to do right from the hotel -- crossing the river in the nearby town and wandering into the local villages on the opposite bank is interesting, and the return to the hotel side can be done on a river raft built from bamboo by one of the local farmers. The hotel plays an important role in the local community, providing employment and management and language training to the local population. All staff, apart from the hotel director, are Laotian. I'd highly recommend this property for a visit to this part of Laos. It's well worth the 5 to 6 hour drive from Luang Prabang, through breathtaking scenery, especially on the stretch from Pak Ou. Heading back to Luang Prabang, we took a river boat for part of the journey, again arranged by the hotel. Pack good walking shoes, an adventurous spirit, and a curious mind and you will love the Muang La resort and all it has to offer."Arumdalu: "An excellent and very luxurious unique experience"
We spent 5 days at this resort on our latest trip to Indonesia. We know the country well so we can be a bit choosy. We had a very luxurious experience at this resort with really excellent food. The accommodation was perfect with bungalows with small pool. The concept with back to nature fit our interest in a sustainable resort thinking. We just loved the whole idea and our stay here!NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Fantastic experience"
"We had a three-night stay at the camp and we couldn't recommend it more. We saw elephants, crocodiles, mongoose, wild boar, jungle cats and, most importantly, leopards! Saj is an absolutely brilliant guide, who has fantastic knowledge about all of Sri Lanka's animals and birds, and knew exactly where to go to find the leopards. We saw a huge male being charged by a water buffalo and a female relaxing in a tree. All the staff are great and the food is fantastic – my husband was in curry heaven! We loved staying in the tent too and showering outdoors. All in all, a wonderful experience. "Rachamankha: "Amazing hotel retreat right inside four walls of Chang mai"
This hotel is centrally located in Chang Mai and is perfect for couples looking to escape and relax after long days of exploring. The hotel has the bones and charm of being built in the 14th century with all the modern conveniences. When we come back there is no doubt where we will stay.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Fantastic break from the outside world!"
During our trip of Cambodia (Jan'18), we spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We drove from Sihanoukville International Airport and were able to reach their reception point in little under 3 hours. The 25 min ride from the reception point to the actual lodge builds up the anticipation in a good way as some of the scenery is just jaw-dropping. Quant little tents with all the required amenities, extremely comfortable and a private deck for yourself, which you can use for enjoying the sun or jumping into the Tatai River wherever you want. With little or no phone connectivity (only Metfone has any sort of connectivity here), you can switch off from the outside world and just spend time with nature. They also take you in a boat to enjoy the sights of fireflies in the evening and it looks magical. You can enjoy the sunset as well (an hour's ride in a boat down the Tatai river) or other trips that they can arrange for you on demand. They maintain a decent DVD collection which you can use (they don't have satellite TV and this is a good change). Paulo (manager) and Narayan were super hospitable and ensured that every little request is taken care of and that you are well looked after. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Cambodia.Babe: "Sensational. A really special experience"
"Among all of the places I have eaten at, Babe exudes an atmosphere that rivals the most energetic of places, with the food sharing that same energy. Chef Jeff Ramsay and his team of chefs and hosts provide an experience that's unlike any other in Malaysia. The food is refreshingly inventive, executed well, and finished off with attentive explanations. I really enjoyed my time here and I recommend the place to anybody who's looking for a good time. "Mie Cafe: "Beautiful and serene restaurant for foodies"
"Our relative from Phnom Penh recommended this restaurant and I am so glad we got a reservation during our stay in Siem Reap. The setting is an old Khmer Villa, beautiful garden and ponds with Koi fish. We sat on the lower floor, which I think is the better choice. We started with a cocktail to give us time to study the interesting menu. The menu included several local twists on traditional foods as well as several fish dishes from the nearby Tonle Sap. We selected a combination of fish and meat dishes and they were all good. Picking a favorite is tricky, but the risotto with fish was very popular. The kids had fish fingers and chicken nuggets, all made from fresh ingredients and popular with the children. For dessert we had ice cream, fried bananas, and the popular chocolate cake. My son got most of it into his stomach, but the rest of the chocolate cake was in his face as our full and happy group left this great restaurant. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant in Siem Reap."Pindaya Farm House: "Peaceful place to stay"
Wish i can stay longger with Pindaya Farm House .Stayed during the Pindaya Festival. Had the whole property by myself . This property is away from the town ,so u can really enjoy walking up hearing bird singing . I highly recommended nature lover and prefer quite and peace .Pindaya Farm House: "Fantastic"
It was our last day in Myanmar just before flying to Yangoon and back home. It was exactly the place we were looking for after visiting and staying at different hotels around Myanmar. The location and the big hut are magical, look and feel as if inside a legend. The warm hospitality and the great food made us feel at home. unfortunately we stayed there 1 night only. Could stay there for a week.
