"Recently spent 4 nights at the Satri House and can't say enough good things about this place. Where to begin: 1. Property is gorgeous. Because few rooms, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. And the pool is set in a magical setting 2. Rooms our spacious and very clean 3. Free access to bikes and loved riding into town everyday 4. Great breakfast 5. Lovely staff. Helped us organize tours in Luang Prabang. Must go to waterfall and Mekong river cruise. "I went here for my honeymoon and I must say we are both very satisfied. The hotel has been designed by a famous architect (just found out while I was there). It's some sort of ""zen"" garden with sophisticated art and furniture pieces. In this hotel you will feel like you are part of Thailand's culture. Truly authentic. "We spent four nights at the Tugu last week as part of a holiday intended for rest and gentle exploration of the area. The hotel is lovely: full of beautiful antiques expertly arranged in public areas and in rooms which are spacious and very private.The gardens are lush and lovingly maintained. But the people are what make it. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they are genuinely committed to making your stay memorable. There is none of the stiff formality of some high-end chains where the feeling is that guests are lucky to be there. The Tugu staff make you feel the opposite, that they are glad to have you as their guests. The food was delicious and the cookery lesson I enjoyed was one of the highlights of the whole holiday. "Beautifully located on a ridge overlooking the valley in front and the mountains above, Tiger Mountain is a perfect retreat for a few days rest. Independent cottages with beautiful sit outs amidst the forest, bird calls and mountain views makes this property special. I traveled in China for one month to take my four adopted Chinese daughters back to see their place of birth. The trip was fantastic and we stayed in a variety of large and small hotels, but always the best available for the area (i.e. Peninsula in Shanghai and Hong Kong, which were great). Jing's place was the best small hotel by far. They received us very warmly and accommodated our early morning arrival finding us rooms even though check in wasn't until the afternoon. It's a beautiful small hotel with very friendly staff and a decent restaurant, also perfectly located in middle of old Pingyao. Imam, the manager was super, and tended to all our needs. The best location in old Pingyao. The hotel is a quiet oasis in the heart of Pingyao. It's rooms are well appointed and very clean and tidy. The hotel facilities are well laid out with a lovely restaurant, bar, spa and quiet reading areas. Its sensitive use of the ancient architecture is a pleasure to relax in, either inside or outside in one of the quiet courtyards. The staff are always there when you need help, but never intrusive or overly attentive. The style is friendly and welcoming. This was our favourite hotel in Java. Not only are the staff helpful and friendly and the food is wonderful, it is a museum. The 'exhibits' are in every room, including the room we stayed in. The collection is amazing. It was a very special experience. It is in an old Dutch colonial villa which has been built on to in order to house the owners collection. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom quirky. I always appreciate the flowers and welcome drink. we can highly recommend this hotel and wish we had had the time to stay longer.Talabgaon Castle: "An Indian Gem!"
We travelled here a family of seven and were treated with warmth and like royalty. Would highly recommend get off the beaten track in luxury! We went to the local town, Lalsot to see the market and purchase bangles, enjoyed the evening cooking school/demo and the camel cart ride in the local village. Bring individuality wrapped sweets (e.g. Starbursts) for local kids. Lots of history here.Reverie Siam Pai: "Wonderful resort in an ideal location for motorcycling"
"My wife and I were on a 7 days motorcycle tour around Northern Thailand. When we got to Reverie Siam we liked it so much that we decided to stay 4 nights instead of two. The nearby roads and scenery offered some amazing day trips on the motorcycle and our afternoons and evening in Pai and especially at Reverie Siam were the perfect complement to busy (and hot) riding days. The staff were wonderful and we loved the pools (2), bars (2) and restaurant. Felt like we were back in the roaring 20’s. Drinks by the (cool) pool was a welcome afternoon treat. Not sure how our stay could have been nicer. We loved it."
