Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "An excellent safari camp near to Sri Lanka’s finest wildlife park"
Outstanding Safari Camp - but please remember this is a CAMP, a safari experience, not a luxury hotel and as such tents in the bush are the order of the day. Nevertheless the camp is well done and maintained. The food was excellent and plentiful, mostly Sri Lankan cuisine. Noel and his partner Cecile are excellent hosts and his team of camp managers, cooks and guides are very professional and accommodating. The safari guides are extremely good, highly knowledgable and ethical in their wildlife policies. The safari vehicles are well appointed, up-to-date 4x4's - all important to me as a professional wildlife photographer. Yala National Park itself is just a short drive away from the camp, (at the time of my visit, camps and lodges are not permitted in the park itself) great wildlife encounters are frequent and the varied landscapes are stunning. Noel Rodrigo's is perhaps a little more expensive than the other camps, hotels and wildlife tours I saw out there, but for the personal attention, quality of the camp, vehicles, guides, food and service.... it is certainly worth it.Manda De Laos: "Lovely food, plenty of choice and great service"
This restaurant was very near our hotel so we went twice. The setting is around a "heritage" lily pond which was beautifully lit at night. There was a fairly extensive menu of both Lao and western dishes. It isn't cheap but everything we tried was very tasty. It is essential to book as this is deservedly a popular spot.Cuca: "Amazing culinary experience"
For me this is like michelin restaurant. The chef is smart to combine the material. The food taste is amazing, the presentation is rising your appetite and also the plate/bowl is nice. Perfect place to have kind a michelin food at affordable priceCuisine Wat Damnak: "Sensational"
Absolutely sensational cambodain cuisine: the food, the service and the atmosphere make this our favorite on our three weeks trip thru Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Two set menus and if you don't like something, they will adapt. The ( Frecnh) owner couple is incredibly talented, friendly and helpful. He cooks and she is attenting the tables. The food is excellent and creative with local fresh ingredients. Tip: make a reservation at least two weeks ahaed and if you did not, call within one hour of you going, you might get lucky!David’s Kitchen: "Brilliant international food in Chiang Mai with a personal touch"
"Just as all the other reviews say, the food is FANTASTIC - and, I'm quite particular when it comes to food and wine. Highly recommend the Tuna Niciose and the Pumpkin Soup. There's a great vibe in the restaurant, and that comes from the fact that a lot of love goes into running it - this comes through in the atmosphere and the food so clearly. Thanks for a lovely night, David and team - and all the best in your beautiful new location in Chiang Mai!"Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "A must experience in Bangkok!"
The cruise was very intimate unlike the big party boats. Sit down dinner was awesome! One of the best tasting meals we had while in Bangkok. Would definitely recommend Suppaniga to everybody!Jing’s Residence: "Wonderful, feel like at home"
"We stay 3 nights in the hotel, in a courtyard room (the romantic one) and everything was wonderfull. Rooms are so beautiful, well-equiped, clean and very quiet ! All the staff speak english and can easily help you. The breakfast is so big, with chinese meal and also european meal (try their pancakes !!!). The restaurant is amazing like all the plates. The chief is very good and you can practice with him during a cooking class ! We really appreaciate our stay and will be happy to come back again in Jing's Residence !"Manukan Island Resort: "Charming villas with great staff"
"We stayed for one night in a beachside villa. Staff encountered were all very friendly and professional. Upon check in we were shown to our room, given a welcome tea and a friendly introduction to the room and facilities on the island. The room itself was so charming - spacious, well laid out, clean and very comfortable all round with beach towels and thongs provided and a cute little balcony overlooking the beach, it suited the environment perfectly and you really couldn't ask for anything more. We were warned that they switch generators several times a day and as such we may experience power disruptions but this was very minimal. The outside breakfast buffet was okay, we did notice insects crawling over some of the breads. Dinner, although the menu was somewhat limited, was really lovely with tables and fairy lights set up next to the beach complete with three musicians performing songs for every table - very romantic. Most of the many tourists on day trip leave the island by 4pm and after this you can really appreciate and enjoy the environment you are in as during the day it is not as pleasant, crowded and noisy. The walk to Sunset Point was a highlight though the pagoda there doesn't offer the best view - continue down the small path to the rocks, very serene. We had an earlyish flight to catch on the day of our departure and the staff were happy to ensure an early boat back to KK was made available to us. We were offered a friendly farewell and as we boarded our boat and were about to depart, a staff member ran out to return a power cable we had accidentally left behind in our room which was much appreciated. If you are planning on visiting Manukan Island we would recommend staying at this resort - very enjoyable and well managed and you are able to experience the island without the daily crowds."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A step back in time not to be missed: gorgeous place"
"Absolutely amazing place! This was the house of a rich Chinese merchant which is/ has been restored to its former glory. We stayed for 3 nights in 2 different rooms: they were both gorgeous, dark wood/ white walls, Chinese furniture - all well appointed. Comfy beds. Breakfast was good and varied, some buffet items with other dishes on order (included in price). Small but perfectly formed pool area, with some rooms having direct access. There is a small museum as part of the hotel and tours are free for customers. Great staff too. The location is good for the city centre, about 5mn walk. There is a night food market next door with about 30 different stalls offering different foods: just grab a table, do a tour and order food - they will bring it to you. Entertainement is provided and well fun. Strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again!"THE ISLAND LODGE: "The most caring hosts"
"The island lodge is a very special place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like welcomed guests. We did the bike/boat tour with Michael through the banana plantations and seeing the locals going about their daily life, not another tourist to be seen. Every body is very friendly. And the whole lodge is beautiful. We will definitely return to the island lodge if visiting Vietnam. "
