Inle Princess Resort: "Wonderful hotel on edge of inle lake"
Lovely hotel. Room on edge of lake with lotus flowers directly in front. Room had large bath plus outside shower. Soaps, body lotion etc all luxurious. Excellent breakfast and good choice of food for dinner including an excellent set menu. Menus are consetina type but printed on both sides! Staff very helpful and friendly. Lots of celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries with all staff coming to table to sing with a lovely chocolate cake. All trips from hotel on long tailed boat, great fun.Thank you for a wonderful few daysPindaya Farm House: "Paradise!"
Thahara in Pindaya, Myanmar is the most wonderful B&B. The accommodations were spotless, the food excellent, the host and hostess were polite, kind and very attentive. I was very sick for about 24 hours and they made special food for me! Our host picked us up at the airport and provided transportation for our sightseeing. The setting for the B&B is in the country on a farm. Very quiet and peaceful. We are already planning our return trip. I would encourage everyone to consider a trip to this lovely property.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Heavenly"
"This gem of a place in northern Kerala was like heaven on earth. Very elegant and huge rooms with an even more gorgeous bathroom. The beach (Arabian sea) was just perfect and very clean. The food served was really delicious and fresh. We did not take any of the guided tours offered, but I presume that is good as well. Overall, we had a perfect and peaceful holiday at Neeleshwar! "INLE PRINCESS RESORT: "Outstanding – Beautiful, Atmospheric with Fantastic Service"
"Visiting Lake Inle is a unique experience, and this experience is doubly enhanced by staying at this splendid hotel. The approach itself is breathtaking, sitting on a boat being rowed by the boatman in the quaint one legged fashion peculiar to the region, you suddenly glimpse a vision in old teak rising out of the lake. The chalets are on stilts and the chalets we had were lake facing with simply incredible views. The rooms are beautifully furnished, a vision in old teak with old Burmese lacquer artifacts strewn about. The bathrooms were again fabulous, with a cosy outside shower. It was certainly pure luxury with splendid service in the middle of this area of outstanding beauty. The food was superb, we ate at the hotel's fine dining restaurant on both the nights we were there. Sitting out on the open terrace overlooking the water and sampling topnotch Burmese cuisine is an other wordly experience. The breakfast was also excellent. All of this was topped by the outstanding and sensitive service. When leaving the hotel plied us with little gifts of local handicrafts. I can't recommend this place highly enough. "Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Right next to Khmer ancient houses and historical attraction places"
I have spent few nights there with group of my friends from Australia and Phnom Penh. We've enjoyed our stay very much, real Khmer villa accommodations, great pool, great local foods and friendliness staff is another plus to make this property stand up the most popular in Battambang town. I have no hesitate to come back again with my family and highly recommended this property to all kinds of traveller.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Superb safari"
My family and I spent 3 nights recently at Noel’s camp and it was a fantastic experience. We saw no less than 4 leopard sightings, numerous elephants and lots of other species. Yala National Park is massive with a variety of terrain to keep things interesting. I would recommend going to the see the old Buddhist temple during your stay. The food at the camp was exceptional and the best local food we experienced during our trip. A few creepy crawlies around the tents, but don’t let that put you off. Our guide, Pasindu, was exceptional, informative and very friendly. The kids even got to plant their own tee , part of the sustainability programme at the camp. Thanks Noel to you and your team for a highly memorable experience! The Warner family (Shanghai)Mathis Retreatco: "Your success howerver you want it: from very quite to exploratory"
"It is our second stay at the Mathis retreat (Kenanga last year) and the manageress; Karne, has maintained a charming atmosphere with excellent food, very kind staff and excellent service. While stilll close to Ubud, the hotel surrounding is peaceful with rice fields mixing lush greens with mirror images of the sky. The swimming pool is large enough to play or exercise. The path next to the hotel is a lovely way to walk down to Ubud across the rice fields, the frogs, the birds, and the hard working farmers. from the many attractive excursions, we selected those that would drive us closest to the balinese people and their natural landscape. The Ayung river trekking was exotic enough, adjusted to our desires and capabilities on the spot; full of anecdotical explanations on the flora, fauna and traditions, with a lunch stop at a traditional village with breathtaking Banian Trees (sacred trees next to temples) where we had a friendly conversation with a 3 generations family. Our daughter; a keen photographer; went for the sun rise on the rice fields for a full 360 degrees sensation, and reaching those remote places as a motorbike passenger was an extra bonus. And we are still so far from having exploited all the possibilities, that you may be sure to find us there next year."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Great food and service"
"We booked this months in advance. We had the 6 course menu at US$28 per person, which was good value for this standard of restaurant. All the courses were beautifully presented and were delicious. Their cocktails were also tasty. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, we sat inside that had air con. Staff were all very professional and attentive, spoke good English. Recommend you visit."The Samar: "Great location for Angkor Wat"
We stayed here as a base to explore Angkor Wat and it is just 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from there, the hotel ordered our 04h45 TT to take us to Angkor for the sunrise experience. Well worth the early start, this is a truly spectacular experience and quite possibly the highlight of my Asia travels (still 17 days to go).... The hotel itself is a 10 minute ride from the centre of Siem Reap, but is located in a peaceful location away from the main road, so is very peaceful indeed. We had a suite on the ground floor (little tip, do an sweep of the room/bathroom in search of spiders), they tend to leave the room doors open whilst cleaning and if the rooms are not in use, we awoke at 04h15 to a rather large and unwanted guest in our bathroom. Even in UK I am not good with spiders, this fellow sitting on my toilet bag was huge...I was a tad alarmed. That said, it really is a lovely hotel, beautiful rooms, big comfy bed and a truly special breakfast, beautifully landscaped gardens and friendly informative and attentive staff....What more could you ask for, for $95 per night for a suite.... Great place, lovely staff, amazing country.Tugu Lombok: "Amazing stay at Tugu Lombok"
"We spent a memorable 10 days in Tugu Lombok. Everything about the hotel was incredible. From the fireworks on the beach, to world class massages and cuisine. The hotel staff went out of there way to ensure a luxurious a stay as possible - including our nighttime beach barbecue under the stars. The food is delicious. We have had bbq fish all over south east asia, but Tugu Lombok really pushed the boundaries, blending traditional flavours, with the freshest seafood. We had a nightmare on the day we were leaving whereby our boats were cancelled, but hotel Tugu pulled out all the stops at the last minute, to find us an alternative Particular mentions to Hanny, Elly, Henry, Januar - but frankly the entire team were incredibly attentive. We very much look forward to revisiting Be Lucky!"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
