SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Way above the standard expected in Yangon"

"Felix and Lucia Eppiser have many years experience in the restaurant industry coming from a Michelin star background in Switzerland, on to Le Planteur also in Yangon and then time in Malaysia until they have settled again in Yangon. Seeds is a relatively newcomer on the fine dining scene here and there are some great menu options, we chose ""Lotus"". From the time we arrived till we left we were treated like very valued guests. Serve was impeccable and we had a vast array of appetisers before we even started. We had a table on the terrace and if we have one criticism we thought the lighting level not quite adequate (we also ate outside at Le Planteur where the lighting was better) but otherwise it was faultless. Excellent tasting menu using mostly local ingredients, great presentation, textures and flavours. Both Felix and Lucia spoke to us several times and we liked their approach to staff training. There is also a nice wine list, obviously well chosen, and a bottle of nice Alsace Riesling was $43 which was pretty reasonable. At a touch over $200 all in for the two of us, plus a small cash tip, it is obviously top end for Yangon but not for the likes of Western diners. I hope Seeds goes from strength to strength and if we are ever in Yangon again we will return, I agree if ever Michelin get there it is star quality."

4 rivers: "A Perfect Romantic Getaway"

"We travelled overseas for the first time and we are anxious and excited of what we're going to see. We visited Siem Reap first and then the amazing 4Rivers Floating Lodge. It was a genius idea on how it was built and Anna's dedication in preserving the river and the surroundings of Tatai is just magnificent! A perfect destination for couples. Lovely view of nature, high-class accommodation, an efficient booking system, and the warmth and hospitality is very much felt and experienced. I have to give a special shout out to the kitchen staff because I could not even find the right word to describe how delicious their food is! Beef Loklak is extraordinarily tasty, and even the simple fried rice is sumptuous! How can you not enjoy your vacation when your tummy is happy? Just as expected, 4Rivers is beautiful and would definitely come back and recommend it to our friends. "

Labyrinth: "Inventive Menu by Chef / Owner L G Han"

"If you are looking for a dining experience to really remember then the one Michelin Star, Labyrinth Restaurant is for you. We enjoyed the ten (10) course, very inventive, degustation menu with matching wines. This was not a 'cheap meal out' alternative but what an experience. The sensational flavours Chef Han has 'developed / created' and presents beautifully onto your plate are to die for and create much discussion if you are lucky enough to be sharing this experience (and I mean a 'real experience') with someone. Each course is described by the excellent staff, who are attentive, but not overly so, which is good for a dining experience. We were lucky enough to get to talk to Chef / Owner Han (apparently an Investment Banker ?? in a previous life), who is a very dedicated and focused Chef and ever so willing to talk about his passion for food, presentation, attention to detail and how and why he set out to create the 'truly innovative' fair he offers at Labyrinth. If you're in Singapore, love food and wine and like to challenge your taste buds with something very different, then Labyrinth will certainly meet your every expectation."

Pindaya Farm House: "A wonderful, relaxing time"

Aye Aye, her husband and team at Thahara Pindaya couldn't have been more welcoming. The accommodation and food were fantastic and the walks and sightseeing gave us a small insight to a spectacular, fantastic, friendly country. Thank you!

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Very glad we stayed here"

"First & foremost, the staff at Seadancer were fantastic. Tum, Poy and Faith went above & beyond the call of duty to ensure my wife and I had a relaxing holday. I can't thank them enough and we would love to come back one day. Our room was very clean and had the most amazing view over the beach. The food was really nice and we also had a wonderful Thai massage in the Spa. Only one downside - the beach which was very rocky. Everything else absolutely fantastic. Thank you all so much! Sanak Retreat Bali: "A Peaceful Retreat in Nature"

I stayed at the Sanak Retreat with my boyfriend for two nights. We really appreciated how calm and peaceful the property was. The restaurant is delicious (especially the barbequed chicken with grilled veggies). The bungalows are beautiful, with big windows on each exterior wall that let in the light. A perfect place to disconnect from the world and recharge your batteries.

Villa Song Saigon: "Truly amazing hotel, elegant, style and great service"

"We wanted a special hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and after lots of searching we found the best in Ho Chi Minh City. You could not fault anything about the hotel from the moment we contacted them to make a reservation to the moment we left in the taxi they arranged for us to return to the airport. We loved the setting, right on the Saigon river where we got to enjoy our breakfast everyday watching the boats go by in the beautiful restaurant and terrace. Chef Kevin is an amazing cook and each meal was mouth watering with lots of local flavours. We had upgraded to a sanctuary villa but found the room a little to small for us so they gave us a better room overlooking the restaurant and river. We loved our new room and the way they handled our disappointment. Please note that all 23 rooms are very different and vary in size, we looked at many as we are coming back in September for my hubbies birthday, we hardly ever go back so that says it all about Villa Song. The highlights of the hotel are the beautiful rooms, gorgeous pool, elegant decor, water setting, private hotel speedboat to the city centre, delightful staff and exceptional food with all day breakfast as well as a very clean environment. Also the local restaurants they recommend were excellent with some lovely locals shops and coffee shops a very short taxi ride away. The hotel is about a good tweet minute taxi ride from district 1 after the speedboat stops about 6pm, it is so worth staying in this beautiful area. All of the staff were very courteous and made our stay out of this world. Cannot wait to go back to one of the best hotels ever. Villa Song Saigon: "Good quality hotel"

"We stayed two nights at this hotel during our transit to Hong Kong. When we arrived at the hotel,they made us feel a warm welcome with a manager named Kevin from Luxembourg. There is a FREE minibar and a nice shuttle boat to the Centre of the city. Plus the wonderful food at the hotel alone with a nice size swimming pool and gym. We really enjoy our stay!"

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Excellent"

We were a bit reluctant to go as it was 40 minutes from the hotel in the awful Yangon traffic, but it was superb and well worth it - despite the restaurant having a party of 100 Swiss pensioners there as well! The food and service were terrific.

Satri House: "An Oasis of Calm"

"I must say that when we first arrived very tired after 24 hours of travelling my wife and l wondered where we were. It was dark and the hotel is just off the main road and we could not see the hotel.However on entering the hotel we were delighted with our choice.The staff were extremely helpful and the room was one of the nicest and comfortable rooms we have stayed in The whole hotel and rooms had wonderful objet d'art which added to the ambience. The restaurant was a separate building with outside verandas . We had 2 evening meals and breakfasts during our stay.The food was very well prepared and delicious although the restaurant lacked atmosphere ,most probably because we were out of season. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the centre of town but there were plenty of tuk tuks There are two swimming pools which when we visited in April were very necessary due to the high temperature 40 plus. We didn't want to leave.A delightful hotel"
