Maduzi Hotel: "Exceptional value boutique hotel in BKK"
"This was our final stop in BKK before heading home and stumbled across a deal on Agoda for $146 Australian in their classic room. We were blown away with the quality of the hotel and service. From the outside it's pretty underwhelming behind a concrete fence, but you are immediately welcomed by calm, restrained Japanese styling once you step into the lobby; I nice sense of calm from the heat and bustling streets. This place has impeccable decor yet it feels homely. The hotel only has 40 rooms. Plusses include the very large rooms, which include an enormous separate bathroom and jacuzzi. Extremely clean with quality fittings. Well sound proofed and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is different in a good way which was included in the room rate - you can order ala carte (all you can eat) with alternative choices as well as usual hot breakfast - I had the traditional Japanese classic breakfast which was fab (I thought breakfast was exceptional). Coffee was also fantastic (a rare find). You also get a free welcome drink of your choice. Happy hour (2 for 1 deal) also operates from 6pm-12am. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is flexible checkout at no additional cost (subject to availability). Interestingly there is a no tip policy! Short walk to Asoke BTS station and directly opposite to a 7-11 on the next corner. Have stayed at a lot of hotels in BKK and this would have to be one of the best ones; 5 star quality at a proportion of the price. As mentioned by other people, the only downside is that there is no pool if that's what you're looking for. Will definitely stay here again. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Inle Princess Resort: "Loved it"
"I loved this hotel. Our chalets were huge and extremely comfortable, and I much appreciated the free minibar containing soft drinks. There were all the amenities you would expect, and the turn down service and cleaning of the rooms was excellent. The view across the lake was also splendid. We made good use of the spa, which has to have the most enormous treatment rooms anywhere. And the treatments were first class. The only thing that I would criticise are the steps into the bathroom and out to the outdoor shower from the room; the steps are all the same colour and in dim lighting merge into one another, with the result that we both tripped down them. A couple of white outlines on the steps would help enormously. There was a very nice bar area, which was extremely efficient and well-run. And the food in the restaurant was also good."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Best restaurant in Yangon?"
The food, the venue, the location, the attention to detail and the warm reception of the guests make this my favorite restaurant in Yangon. Theme dinners, business lunches, drinks at sunset, receptions.... Not cheap, but worth it.Manda De Laos: "Beautiful in the evening"
We were lucky enough there was a table for two. Food was good and the atmosphere was super strong with the beautiful pond and flowers at the centre. Also the staff were on point and took good care of us!The Hue House: "Possibly best meal in Vietnam"
Came here on our last night in Vietnam. Hidden gem: the restaurant was a bit hard to find. Didn't quite realise it was a rooftop restaurant, the building it is in looks like an office building and there was no signage at the bottom of the building and cafes next door did not know the place either. Anyways, we found it and were incredibly impressed. All dishes were really good, had a mix of noodle and rice dishes and appetisers, lots of flavour, beautiful tastes. If I'd have to call out one dish: rice pancakes w shrimp were fantastic. Possibly the best meal we have had in our fortnight in Vietnam.Sanak Retreat Bali: "Wonderful Sanak Retreat Bali"
"Hvilket fantastisk og dejligt sted placeret midt blandt lokale rismarker i Bali's højland. Afslappende og super hyggeligt resort. Få gæster, dejlige hyggelige cabins med en helt vidunderlig udsigt til rismarker og bjergene mod vest. Super service og god mad. Havde en dejlig tur med lokal guide til rismarkerne og den lokale landsby. Også skøn og flot tur til vandfaldet. Stedet kan varmt anbefales. "Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Khmai food and hospitality at its best"
A really good restaurant. The food was top notch - Khmai food with an added twist. The service was first rate and the setting very conducive to a wonderful evening - highly recommended and not too costlySatri House: "Escape into a world of tranquility!"
"Traveling in Asia can be stressful, so I was grateful for this all too short escape from reality at The Satri House. What a treat to be greeted with a welcome drink upon arrival! The staff really make an effort to make you feel at home. I chose economize by taking the local transportation from the Luang Prabang airport rather than the hotel pickup. This proved to be the right choice, as the airport is very organized for tourists with a set price and individual drop off at your hotel. My room was very comfortable, with fresh fruit and plenty of bottled water. Although the mini fridge was'nt stocked but you can order drinks.. As others have noteted, the walk into town was easy and enjoyable, taking you past many interesting sights. I would recommend to travelers who like to explore that you take your time and wander some of the side streets along the way... There is a fantastic 'hidden' restaurant just across the street. 'Manda de Laos'. Highly recommended for that romantic get away or restful retreat. My only regret was that I only had 2 nights to enjoy this wonderful place!"Tugu Lombok: "Magical, Quirky and Friendly"
"I stayed at Hotel Tugu Lombok with my two sons in one of the Ampenen Villas. I had dined here in the past which had 'wetted' my appetite to stay and explore the resort more as it had looked so interesting and unique. I certainly wasn't disappointed. From arrival in the reconstructed Rumah Ampenan (19th century Chinese traders house), to the Bale Kokok Pletok (open air dining area), Lara Djonggrang Bar and temple inspired Spa, the whole place is full of interesting stories, mystique and quirkiness which give it a vibe like no other place I've stayed before and definitely set it apart from other larger resorts and ""chain"" hotels. Our villa was spacious even with three beds in it, refreshingly cool and spotlessly clean. We had so many welcome flowers and a personal note, which just endeared the place to us even more. Every day we were surprised with a new pet (of the towling variety, thanks to Jaelani one of the super friendly staff). While I appreciate it was low season, there were not many guests and so we felt like we were getting extra special attention - all the staff knew our names, which made you feel instantly safe and comfortable. We were also given a personal guided tour of the complex by Ellie, which as specified, was filled with stories and tales of Ancient Lombok, Temples, Princesses, Gods and immortal beings - facinating to understand the inspiration for the environment which we were enjoying. As there are not many dining options close to Hotel Tugu (a couple of very basic local warungs about 1km away), we ended up dining at the hotel for all meals, which did add up a bit (especially with the ++), but the quality of the food was superb with a wide choice of local and western foods, all of which tasted delicious. Even with taxes, the food was still good value compared to what we would normally pay in Australia for the same quality. We were at the hotel for three nights and dined in three different locations - the Bale Kokok Pletok, the Gedong Gandrung (hall of love - with my two sons!!) and the beach - all fantastic experiences. I would recommend doing a bike ride around the local area on the hotel's bikes (we did ours late afternoon to avoid the heat). Jaelani offered to escort us which was helpful and informative. Another worthwhile thing to do is get up early and stroll along the beach to enjoy the sunrise over Rinjani, the myriad of sea life exposed at low tide and the fishermen heading off for the day. We also used the hotel's kayaks to paddle around and over the bay (looking at amazing sea life below, including turtles) and stand up paddle boards - perfect for use on the clear blue, calm waters of the Sire peninsula. I dont think there's any doubt that I will come back to this magical place again - there is nothing I could fault and much to recommend. Room Tip: We were given a tour of several villas - they all looked wonderful."Maduzi Hotel: "An heavenly boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok"
