Slow Villas and Spa: "Amazing villa, couldn’t have asked for more"
"From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The villa was beautiful, very nicely decorated, the private pool was great. Breakfasts were amazing, brought to our villa at a requested time and laid out on the garden table to enjoy the morning. We were treated to a complimentary massage in the adjoining spa which was very relaxing and free pilates in the mornings was a very enjoyable bonus. The only minor comment would be that a couple of things like bike hire and laundry service seemed needlessly overpriced. If I returned to Gili Air I would stay here again."Locavore: "Incredible food experience!"
We went to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary, and it was an incredibly good experience. Everything was perfect, starting with the really nice staff, the place itself and obviously the food. Talking about the latter, we saw people complaining about it, this place is intended to be a really slow food experience, with 7 or 5 main dishes and roughly 10 complementary other small snacks, all together it takes over 3 hours, not for everyone. But the composition of the dishes is simply awesome, recommended for the lover of the good food! The Tiger’s Eye: "Love goes through your stomach"
"I was meeting an old friend to catch up on life, business, future and past. We had dinner at Tigers Eye and decided for the tasting menu with the carefully selected wine to accompany. Your experience is like tossed from the different sensations of Southeast Asia, to NY and Paris, still keeping that fine taste of Khmer cuisine and it's representation. Dinner conversations is truly accelerated by being at the right place, with right food and wine. Tim and his team makes Phnom Penh shine. See you soon again."Mie Cafe: "A wooden House restaurant"
We had dinner here and we ordered the Amok fish, fried vegetable beef, fried rice with Angkor Beer. This was a nice dinner. The staff here were friendly and the service was quickly. Highly recommend.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Magical Shangri-La up in the clouds"
"The views from all around both properties were breath-taking and we enjoyed some of the recommended walks you can do around the grounds, especially being treated to a delicious lunch down at the river. The food was great throughout the 4 days, sitting outside for breakfast and lunches is a treat (as long as the flies are not out in force) and dinners were similarly a great experience where you get to chat with other guests in a relaxed, communial manner, though private dining is always available, which we did take advantage of one night, when we were too fatigued to make small talk. Great variation of food also - with a different food 'theme' given for different nights - i.e. Indian, Tibetan, etc. The room we had (Singuella Suite - spelt incorrectly I'm sure) was huge, had some lovely period furniture and was decorated to a high, if a little mumsy, standard. Great bathroom and loads of hot water too. Sadly our visit to Darjeeling town was not the best due to it being really overcast, so I would suggest anyone stays here at least 3 nights to make the most of their time here. The road is what everyone else has written about it - bumpy and nerve jangling, but it is what it is - certainly we felt it seemed worse on the way down than up....also it seemed to get slightly more tolerable the more you did that journey, but it's no deciding factor over whether you should go to this place - it is really special, the views are simply stunning and the bonus of getting all your laundry done here for free was a great boon for us as we had 4 weeks worth of laundry to give them from our previous travels in India. The manager Jemima was lovely too - friendly, welcoming, easy to talk to with a great convivial manner. The shop was a nice, unexpected visit, but needed a bit more diversity in merchandise....again it got all a bit mumsy and twee after a while. The only other small criticism would be some of the employees English is very, very limited, which resulted in some wrong orders and misunderstandings - nothing major, but this is a pricey place to stay at and some guests might expect the service to be highly sharpened to reflect the fee. Still, if you can do go, I felt 4 nights was just the right amount of time to spend here....had a beautiful time which I will not forget. Room Tip: The newer bunglaow - for sure"Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Simple hotel with excellent service"
This is a small hotel of 7 rooms overlooking the Mekong river. Our suite had 3 rooms all comfortable and well kept. There is no pool. The hotel restaurant is on the top floor and has spectacular views across the Mekong Delta. What sets this hotel apart though is the excellent staff who clearly enjoy having you as a guest.Villa Song Saigon: "Great place to relax"
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The building itself is beautiful and our room was spacious and felt very luxurious. There were little touches that we really loved such as the free water and beer in the mini bar which was refilled daily and a daily snack brought to your room in the afternoon. The hotel is out of the city centre, but there are regular boat shuttles to take you in to the centre of town. The pool area is a great sun trap or you can sit by the riverside. The breakfast and dinner area is outside looking out on the riverside and the breakfast is extremely tasty. The best thing about the hotel though was the team who ran the hotel. They were so helpful, giving us great restaurant and activity recommendations and helping us with any questions we have. I highly recommend staying here and you will leave feeling revived!Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing Safari – we loved it"
"A big thank you to Sajith and the team at Leopard Safaris, we stayed here as Part of our honeymoon trip around Sri Lanka and we were not disappointed, we were even presented with a chocolate cake to share with the camp. The food for every meal was traditional Sri Lankan food and it was great to try lots of new dishes. We stayed in the Tusker tent which was brilliant there was so much space in the room, air con, safe, and the open air shower was brilliant. It's so well built if your not a fan of camping this is room for you as it's basically a five star bungalow. Getting up at 4:45am for the early morning safaris was a bit hard, but getting all of the great sightings of the animals especially the baby elephants and leopards. Sajith is and extremely knowledgable bird and wildlife guide and a brilliant photographer too, so if you have any questions he will be happy to help. I managed to get some brilliant photos and I was using a pretty basic Nikon camera I have uploaded on here so if your keen on photography you will love it. Everyone we stayed with in the camp were also lovely especially Terry and Jo which made the whole experience brilliant. If you are thinking of going on a safari in this area stay here as these guys really know how to look after you, track and view all the amazing wildlife that live in Sri Lanka! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Malang: "An excellent hotel"
"Everything is perfect : A beatiful inside, with small swimming pool A large room well equiped An effective staff, very helpful (thanks to Nur Hasim) A very good restaurant for classy dinner and good breakfast Thank you !"Jing’s Residence: "Home away form Home but nicer"
"I spent a weekend here in this historical town. This accommodation is great value for the comfort and luxury it offers. It has a homely Chinese feel that is comfortable but not austere or hostile as the life around it appears. The bullet train from Beijing was interesting. Everything is in close walking proximity in this town. I recommend arranging a pickup from the train station arranged through the hotel. It began the weekend calmly and smoothly (not always the way in China) Iman is a delightful staff member who leads a friendly team of hotel staff and the owner was a genuine delight and low key. They tend and anticipate to all your needs. It was truly impressive and not something you always receive in China. The simple afternoon teas served upstairs in the cozy area with art, books and calligraphy on a freezing cold day was welcome. The room and bed was warm and comfortable (not always the case in China) and a delightful gift added was a treat. Honestly you could stay here and not leave to see anything else. There was a great sense of history in the architecture as well as the food. We were taken to see some really interesting historical buildings, an opportunity you would not get in the mainstream. There are activities offered and they were lovely. We did noodle and dumpling making. The shopping and souvenirs were much cheaper here than in other places so worth purchasing. They love to barter so do your best to get a great deal! In this part of China this accommodation offers a genuine great time away without the corporate schmoozing. Families are catered quite well here without disturbing others."
