Satri House: "Beautiful rambling villa; separate colonial-style buildings; beautiful decor; attentive staff; lovely manicured grounds"
We visited this hotel and were favorably impressed. The public areas and spacious, airy rooms were beautifully and characteristically appointed with furniture, furnishings and artifacts from Laos and surrounding countries. The hotel is situated at the edge of town but an easy walk into the center for sightseeing and dining. The staff we encountered were pleasant and cooperative. Relatively recent modernization means up-to-date facilities which make for an enjoyable stay. The photos on the TripAdvisor website provide a very good visual tour of the establishment.Rachamankha: "A total and superb experience"
Every little detail was thought of in this stylish hotel. Breakfast is served in one of the most amazing places. Rooms are specious and wonderfully designed. Location is perfect. It's worth investing a little bit more and staying here. If we could we would move in. We will come back.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A Great Place to Stay"
"This is a great place to stay and the staff are friendly and kind. The rooms have real character and charm. It is such a relaxing stay after the mayhem of Georgetown. The breakfast is amazing and the beds are super comfortable. Will definitely stay again at the Blue Mansion Ben and Anna Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Inle Princess Resort: "Simply wonderful"
We loved every single moment of the 4 days we spent in this resort. The place is so beautiful and peaceful that you have impression of living in another planet. Great rooms (lake houses are top), super service, excellent food - all is perfect. The architecture of the place is amazing and the decoration has been done with great taste.
We have enjoyed every minute of our stay at Villa Song. The extremely warm-hearted and friendly staff made us feel at home in no time. The great location of the Villa directly at the Saigon river in the very hipp and up-coming District 2 of beautiful Saigon adds to the overall quality of the stay. We will surely come back!Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Highlight of our trip to Vietnam"
We were fortunate to take the 2 day with 1 night stay on Bassac 3 with only 9 people. Nicely split 5 French and 4 English. We had the luxury of 2 guides - one French speaking and Annie who looked after us and the other English couple. We learned so much about the Mekong Delta from Annie as she and her family still live there. Our walk in Annie's village was informative and we got to visit a house and eat lovely fresh fruits, ginger and baked rice paper with sesame seeds. We also visited the school. Cabins on the Bassac are compact but comfortable and quiet resulting in a good night's sleep. Food was very tasty and they accommodated peoples preferences as much as possible. We enjoyed our floating market excursion on the smaller boat and actually boarded the pineapple boat and tried one. Annie also took us briefly to the Can Tho food market on our way to our final drop off. Highly recommendedTugu Malang: "Tempo Doeloe feeling"
The hotel is a mixture of luxury and history. The rooms give a feel of the "good" (only for the Dutch) colonial old times, with the hand hammered baths. And the whole atmosphere is the hotel is friendly and service minded. The for is excellent and the hotel itself has a fantastic mix of antiquities within its walls (Chinese (most), Dutch and Indonesian. It was a pleasure going to the rooms with my 17 year old daughter and see her recognize drawings and pictures of Kublai Kahn and Sun Yat Sen. Great hotel.misool: "An incredible marine experience!"
"Andrew and Marit have accomplished the almost-impossible by building this remote, luxurious resort on an island in Raja Ampat, mostly from driftwood, and without a fresh-water source. It is a dive resort, but we are snorkelers, and were extremely well taken care of by Andrew, Marit, Mark, Sue, Calvin, two wonderful men both named Ali in the restaurant, and also young ""Soo press"", and the lovely masseuses Banne and Reeshna at the spa. We were assigned a private boat driven by the excellent Sam Saul and a private guide, ""Son"" (for Nelson), who took us on very many enlightening snorkelling excursions near the island. We even swam with 3 manta rays at ""Magic Mountain""! We were in paradise! The conservation philosophy of this resort is commendable and inspiring, and we were left with a feeling of hopefulness for the future of this marine habitat. Well done, Andrew and Marit, and staff! "Tugu Lombok: "Great service & amazing beauty"
A truly wonderful resort with a fabulous sense of style and beach sophistication. A great launching point to climb Rinjani or simply relax on the quite side of Lombok. We didn't get to try the tapas restaurant as it is only open a few nights a week. This was our only disappointment.
