Yandabo Home: "Paradise on Irrawady"
Maison Polanka: "Way Beyond What We Expected"
We are swept off our feet with the warm reception given us at this beautiful property. We had a perfect stay and we are certainly coming back. We have been to Angkor/Siem Reap before and we were quite particular that this trip would not be a standard Angkor visit. The maison and their staff were very sensitive to our preferences and made every effort to make us feel truly at home.Tugu Bali: "Best of Bali"
"We are staying at Tugu Bali at present, and it is beautiful. We visit Bali often for family reasons, have stayed in lots of hotels and villas, but now I think we will look no further than Tugu for future visits. What took us so long?"Maisons Wat Kor: "Beautiful hidden gem – perfect for a relaxing getaway"
Sadly we only stayed for one night, it is the perfect place to relax especially since it is a little out of town. The Cambodian style villas are cozy with a good range of amenities (just wish they provided some shampoo and shower gel in the bathrooms), the pool and pond areas are lovely with all the tropical plants and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the morning sitting on the deck overlooking the lotus flower pond and the afternoon swimming in the pool (surprisingly the water was cool despite the heat). The food in the restaurant was fresh and delicious. The server went out of his way to cut us fresh coconuts from the tree. Definitely a place to return to for another weekend getaway.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Impressive, not only with the hotel but also what it stands for."
I believe the facilities and service is already spoken for, but what is really exceptional is the values with which it has been built. All the waste from the toilet is filtered by plants and then released into Lake Inle which it is built on. I had the privilege to see the site where food waste is being processed to make compost for the plants in the gardens, which happen to be the source of ingredients for the hotel restaurant. From my observation, the staff are treated very well and deeply respect the founder of the Inle Heritage Foundation, whose motto is people over passion, over profit. Although I mentioned that the services have already been recommended enough, the restaurant deserves a mention. I hate bread and I had the first piece of bread I like at Inle Heritage.Supanniga Cruise: "Stunning Views and Great Food"
"For our last night in Bangkok we had dinner on the Supanniga. It was one of the best nights in Bangkok, really attentive staff, amazing food, one of the best meals we had, and awesome views. I have seen some of the cheaper versions of the dinner cruise, and would definitely pay the extra for a better experience. I would definitely recommend"Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "A brilliant fusion of modern french with Thai flavours"
"Food at Le Du was quite exquisite. A simple menu with about 12 dishes in total spread across 4 courses. Each course has 3 dishes and you select each one for each of the 4 courses. The wine menu is extensive with reds from Portugal an interesting selection. Fusing modern French culinary dining with a Thai twist by adding subtle flavors of Thailand really made the dishes unique and stand out. I generally find Thai food too overbearing sometimes being too sweet, too salty, or both on most occasions. Even the top ranked restaurants like Nahm the food is horrendously salty to be almost unpalatable. Gaggan can sometimes be equally overkill on the salt. But at Le Du for once I was always looking forward to the next dish to taste how the chef gently infused Thai flavors into the his creations and almost on all occasions he delivered. I thought the desserts failed to carry the brilliance all the way through to the end with the cheesecake dish tasting and looking like it was from BreadTalk with a scoop of ice cream added. Unfortunate considering the previous 3 dishes were outstanding. Will definitely give the restaurant another try when they change their menu. "Mathis Retreat: "Le Must"
What happiness to have chosen this hotel for 3 nights in Ubud. I had heard so much noise in the city that I had decided to be a bit outside. Beautiful views of the rice fields. I stayed in a deluxe room. All rooms have views of the rice fields. Lots of charm in decoration. Warning only bathtub in the bathroom if He is apparently so go to the bungalow (shower and bath). A small dej to die. jams to die for .... The restaurant is excellent too. A very good chef director Karine fuss of these customers A short ParadisCABOCHON: "Lovely small hotel"
"Old colonial style boutique hotel with friendly staff. Quiet location on side street. Lovely rooms with interesting furniture and artefacts. Small pool on roof. Lovely smell of burning candles throughout. Cute little restaurant if you don't feel like walking out. Good Thai food plus western options available. Breakfast was good too. Good wifi connection. "Tugu Malang: "An Amazing Stay"
This historic hotel doesn't look much from the outside as it is surrounded by busy traffic. However, it is an oasis with such traditions as high tea and excellent service. The room was small but has been updated to contain all the modern cons. The bath is unusual in the material it is made from. The food in the dining room is excellent as was the staff. We were welcomed with a personal message painted on a large leaf. There is also a very interesting collection of artefacts.
