Maison Polanka: "Even better than advertised!"

"To have seen the gorgeous pictures on their website and read the lovely descriptions, one might say “not possible”, but somehow, Maison Polanka manages to exceed one’s expectations --greatly! Our group stayed in the Khmer House and Green Room. Both are spacious and full of character, with an impeccable and sophisticated mix of contemporary and traditional decorations. But rest assured that here style does not come at the expense of guests’ comfort: Extremely comfortable beds; powerful and responsive AC; inviting bathrooms with walk-in showers; indulgent bed and bath linens and amenities; everything spotlessly clean; etc. (...) Service was extraordinarily attentive. At Maison Polanka, our needs and wants were not simply met, they were anticipated. A few examples of the innumerable gestures of hospitality and warmth extended to our group by Cathy and every one of the staff at Maison Polanka : Throughout our four-day stay (amidst the steamy and broiling heat of September ...), every single time we came back to the hotel, no sooner did we walk through the gate when we would be met with chilled towels and a smile; our group was eternally grateful for the abundant supply of chilled towels (with menthol) and bottled water that Maison Polanka so thoughtfully sent with our touring van; knowing our tight schedules, Cathy and Harold worked tirelessly and thoughtfully (and even with last-minute revisions) to be sure that our tours and shopping excursions met our interests; Cathy knew our flight details better than we, and she and Harold were the ones who kept checking with our airline for the most accurate updates while we shamefully lounged around; the yogurt at breakfast was so good, I offered a taste to a friend; within minutes, yogurt magically appeared on her tray. By the way, there is a great deal of talents in the kitchen at Maison Polanka where the preparations reflected a preference for refined nuances and where the presentation was visually stunning : We fell in love with Cambodian cuisine here (...) To the owners of Maison Polanka and to everyone of their amazing staff: thank you for creating for your guests this haven in Siem Reap!"

Mie Cafe: "Our last night in Siem Reep"

My partner and I wanted to go out for a nice meal as it was the end of our holiday. We were getting tired of 'Pub Street' and wanted something special. We found out about this place on TripAdvisor and thought we would give it a try. We were very fortunate being a walk in as it's a rather small restaurant and it was quite busy. The food was absolutely wonderful. It was contemporary Khmer cuisine at its best. This was complimented by wonderful service from very friendly staff. A wonderful evening out.

Heritage Suites: "Perfect Place to Spend the Rest of My Life… If only I could"

My sister and I shared a bungalow suite and felt very much like queens. She's used to 5-star service, but I'm still a little awe-struck. The room was large with a sitting room, private outside area, and a large king sized bed, with a sturdy mattress and high quality bedding. The service was wonderful. While all of the staff were friendly and helpful, stand-outs for our stay were Sim and Sippa. They were both very attentive to our needs, and suggested things when we asked questions, and Sippa was able to find several options when we told her we wanted to see an Apsara dance. Breakfast is included and is delicious. The coffee was wonderful, the fruit ripe and tasty and the mini croissants and pain-au-chocolats crafted the French way. We ate at the restaurant for dinner once, and we all loved the food. I'm a vegetarian and the chef made sure I could eat eggs and added one to my rice and veggie dish. Tip- get the passion fruit sorbet. To Die For. The pool was lovely and we had drinks two afternoons in a row sitting by the pool. We also got massages while there- they are excellent for relaxing massages but if you're going in for some kind of sports, technical, injury related massage, my advice is to wait for your regular masseuse and enjoy their relaxing massages, which are very good. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day. The return flight about killed me, but this place is worth another visit.

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Idyllic stay"

The perfect place to relax for 2-3 days at the end of a holiday in India. Very comfortable and spacious bungalows set widely apart in landscaped grounds right next to the Arabian Sea. The sea was rough while we were there so we took advantage of the pool area instead, which was quiet and peaceful - some of the bungalows were unoccupied but I don't imagine the hotel is ever noisy/busy. This is a place to relax and unwind. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we appreciated little touches like the leaving gifts and the postcard that arrived for my birthday 4 months later! Will definitely visit again one day.

Chakrabongse Villas: "Chakrabongse Villa – Royalty @ the Chao Phraya River"

"I was there for the 4th. tme in several years and it get's even better ! Chakrabongse Villa lies in my favourite part of the old city. Situated on the Rattanakosin Island @ walking distance from the pulsing food and flower market of BKK - Phak Klong Talad. Chakrabongse Villa is a very distinguished and stylised Boutique hotel and restaurant almost opposite the famous Wat Arun. The setting is gorgeous, the food is Thai and of course a little bit farang-style, but over all. To have dinner here with your friends or family is a real experience. The staff is very friendly, The wine-list could be bigger and at the end you just have to try it to to ad another experience to your life."

Talabgaon Castle Heritage Resort: "Quiet Getaway"

"What and amazing experence I had here. This is by far the best hotel I've stayed in while traveling through india. It was so great I extended my stay! it was such a different experence out in the countryside, peacefull and very beautiful away from the hecticness of the city - I had the opertunity to be taken through the small surrounding village and meet some of the local people. I was even invited into someone's house for some chi (tea) and to see how the locals lived experiencing an aspect of India the larger hotels just don't offer. Also, as Talabgoan is the home of the owners polo team, there are a bunch of fantastic horses - I don't ride but for someone who does it's a terrific destination. The hotel itself is a combination of the old family castle that has been converted into a modern boutique hotel designed to match the highest Europen standards. Amazing food, fantastic pool and a great bar - an oasis in a traditional Indian lanscape - A must visit!"

Amata Lanna: "Childless thirty something couple"

"The place is so beautifully done (both the property & the gardens). Located perfectly. 5min tuck-tuck ride to town centre or 20min walk. Or if you don’t fancy going all the way there, there is a nigh market, with restaurant 5min walk away. An Italian restaurant is 3min away. So is a French bakery. There is an English colonial stile brasserie/tea shop on the river front a few min away. Bars and Thai Boxing is about 10min walk. Yet, it’s far enough from the happening to not have night time noise. Also, there is a lovely temple on the river front about 1min walk away. I spent hours sitting there reading."

Tugu Lombok: "Urlaub"

"Das Tugu Hotel ist ein Traum und ganz besonders für einen romantischen Urlaub zu empfehlen .In diesem Hotel stimmt alles!! Jeder Wunsch wird einem von den Augen abgelesen! Man fühlt sich wie in einer geborgen Familie, da es ein kleines ganz besonders liebevoll gepflegtes Hotel ist. Das Frühstück sensationell! Allerdings sehr einsam und abgelegen. Für Ruhesuchende Personen das perfekte Hotel. Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A space for nature"

"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge manages to knit together the very best in comfort, service and food, whilst making space for nature. A difficult feat to achieve, but one that I and my mother very much appreciated. There is no forced planting of exotic, introduced flowers and tightly strimmed grass, which seems to have become the standard everywhere around the world in boutique hotels and lodges. Instead, the focus is on allowing the smaller but essential things in life to flourish, such as butterflies and solitary bees, without the average guest even knowing these wonderful insects are there. Marcus and his team recognise the importance and value of these pollinators (we would have no coffee or chocolate if it was not for insects pollinating the flowers of these plant species!) and have cleverly crafted and created an environment that allows space for all. This is an ideal place for birding, but even better if you are interested in Lepidoptera. The team's knowledge and enthusiasm is nothing short of incredible, and I am truly in awe that so much time and effort is invested in compiling inventories of what they have found there. It is clear that this is not just a passing interest, or an attempt at green-wash to enhance visitor numbers, but a genuine desire to accurately record the diversity of the lodge. Many congratulations to you all. You have achieved the trickiest of things by providing first class accommodation, food and service without compromising the location. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Tugu Lombok: "Perfect"

We were really impressed with this resort. The room was beautiful, with outdoor bathroom and enormous size. Friendly and attentive staff, amazing breakfast, great pool, stunning scenery and grounds. You can have breakfast any time of day - such a brilliant idea! The training of the staff has been brilliant, without exception all of them are very good. People looking after the grounds, restaurant, bar, cleaning, front desk, concierge... all are a credit to the hotel. The beach isn't fabulous, as there's a lot of sea urchins and low tide is really very low exposing coral and rocks, but it was the only negative. Top recommendation.
