This hotel is more like a guest house and a very nice one at that. Faye and William were very friendly and ensured all our needs were met. Breakfast and lunch are served in the lovely gardens overlooking the natural beauty that surrounds, providing an opportunity to marvel at the Himalayas and K2 on a clear day. Dinner is a lovely experience with a seating plan that provides the guests an opportunity to meet fellow travelers to talk about their experience and each night there is a different regional theme to the meals. The tour of the plantation was very interesting, giving me a new appreciation for what it takes to make tea. This hotel is in the mountains and as such the journey there was long and on very rough roads but the drivers are excellent, knowing every bend. Well reviewed by many travel writers, we chose this and booked months ago as it is very popular and the owners do close the restaurant for weeks at a time. Tasting menus A and B which you can try one of each as a couple - superb. We chose the fan cooled upper floor rather than the AC ground floor that catered more for those that wanted a modern restaurant. With the windows open even on a rainy evening, it was fresh and lush. Food was fabulous and really tested our understanding of Cambodian food. We were welcomed by Carole and her chef husband visited each table when he brought the fruit selection that ended each menu and you had the chance to talk to - a lovely personal touch.Samanea Beach Resort: "Good family time"
The staff was very friendly, they were always ready to accommodate your request and provide their best service. Don't forget that you are in Cambodia and their standard may not be as high as other countries in South East Asia. "We had heard lots of bad things about stay in HouseBoats and had finally decided to skip this experience. But thanks to our travel agent who forced us book this place. I just have one Word for the houseboat ""AWESOME""!!! The houseboat is extra clean with no foul odor. The service is top notch! The food was excellent (bit slow in serving) They have well trained staff and could feel the difference with the way they treated people. The Deck was nice and had a very good view. We regret staying for only 1 day, and would surely return for a longer stay. "We stayed over new years, my wife, our two young kids, and myself. The villa was very nice and clean. The pool and grounds were great. Food is nice. But the main reason this trip out of many to Bali was great, was because of Chris and his staff. They went so far and beyond what is normal. We had so much going on at the time, and we asked and leveraged Chris for so much more than we normally do. He was great, patient and very accommodating. Wow Borneo is very well run. The boats are clean, modern and the crew fantastic. The food is without a doubt 5 star. The 2 owners are really committed to giving you the very best service. I have been 3 times now on the boat. You see the orangutans up close and its such an intimate experience. You enter by small boat to see them. The Dayak villages are so beautiful and keep their old ways. Its a great trip. This place is just fab, very well maintained heritage castle. The property is beautiful and takes you back to the royal living. Hospitality of the staff is just amazing. Mr. Harminder Singh's hospitality was just out of the world. Meals were authentic Rajasthani cuisine, made with lot of love and served with even more love :-) Overall me and my family had a wonderful experience which we will never forget.
