Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Secluded paradise"
"The resort is a collection of bungalows and a clubhouse built along a pristine stretch of the Andaman coast, along with a more protected bay for swimming (there's a great beach bar on this end). If you're arriving by sea (and not by jeep from the pier) the boat drops you off in the bay, and you wade through the water onto the beach, which sets the tone for the stay. Most of the baans are open air, as is the clubhouse, and you wake up and fall asleep to the sound of waves, the wind, crickets (or whatever the local variant), lizards, birds, and monkeys. Likewise, although the west-facing beach doesn't have any lounge chairs or umbrellas, we were often the only people sitting on our towels under the shade of palm trees, watching scuttling crabs and the receding tide. It truly is designed to bring you as close to nature as possible without actually camping on the beach. The people at the resort are all lovely - Massi, Duang, and all the folks who worked in the clubhouse and the bar are professional and friendly. A special thanks to P'Wam, the head chef, who gave me a great cooking class. The food is uniformly delicious, fresh, and varied a lot from day to day. We were there for four days and didn't see the same dish twice at dinner. Breakfast is plentiful. Everything, from the food to the drinks, was fairly priced and great value considering how difficult it must be to provision the place. A few things that might be helpful to know before going: The waves on the long stretch of beach are quite wild and we didn't find it possible to swim, but it's great for strolls and lying around. If you're going in peak season with kids, don't count on being able to hang out at that beach with them. The bay side was quiet when we were there (in mid December, we felt we had the run of the place) but I can imagine it getting quite crowded around Christmas. The mosquitos and black flies are no joke. I showed up without any DEET and had to buy some immediately, and use it constantly, and even then I was bitten. If you tend to attract bites, plan on covering up and using DEET in the morning and evening. In retrospect I wish we had gone for a beachfront baan as they probably had fewer bugs than ours, which didn't get as much breeze. Our baan was beautifully maintained and felt very private, with an outdoor bathroom and decks. Note that the water is from a well and gives off a strong sulphurous odour, which keeps showers short and eco friendly. All in all, a truly special place that runs seamlessly despite its remoteness and the encroaching jungle and sea around it. We enjoyed our time there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or go back."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion Logo Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Fabulous!"
We stayed here for 5 nights and the stay was great. The staff were wonderful and the rooms very comfortable. The history is fascinating and the renovation work excellent. We didn’t eat here other than breakfast - we ate at the Red Garden Food Paradise and Night Market which is right next door - so many choices and so inexpensive!Mie Cafe: "Best restaurant in siem reap"
We stayed at the city for 3 days and loved the restaurant so much that we travelled far to the restaurant for the second time only to find that it was an off day for them. I'll definitely come back if I had the chance to visit siem reap again.Tugu Bali: "Amazing hotel in the center of Canggu"
My husband and I were charmed by Tugu property. The lobby is magnificent and the lotus pond stunning. Our room was decorated with lots of flowers. We had a good glass of wine on our first night with a Nasi Campur. We highly recommend this hotel! We will come back!Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A M A Z I N G"
"You are looking at a small resort with bungalows for rooms. Do not expect large hotel amenities but nothing will turn you off either. Its a hidden gem that offers exquisite luxury and privacy for those who seek just that. We visited the hotel for our honeymoon between 28 of December and 4 of January. We avoided the raining season but do expect some heavy rain that usually lasts between 10-30 minutes. Don't forget that these are the tropics. We choose a private pool villa and luckily we got one that had an ocean view. Since day one the staff was the best staff ever. Room was very clean and was maintained daily as well as towels.Tum (the staff manager I think) was always present for anything we requested, we owe him a praise. Staff added water and citronella in a candle evaporator so to drive away mosquitos that worked really well. The hotel is 10 minutes maximum by taxi from Chaweng beach which is a large tourist area where you can get any nightlife, any beach action or any restaurant you seek to spend the day. The hotel beach is not ideal for swimming because its a bit rocky but the infinity pool makes up for it. We booked half board and we never left the hotel. The restaurant food is very good and has a lot of options, breakfast as well. Prices are very decent and the barbecue days are the best. Our room did not get any Wifi signal at all which wasn't a problem for us since that kept us off our phones and might be a problem for some, but the reception at the restaurant was excellent and fast. There is a 7 Eleven within 5 minutes walk where someone can buy anything even cheaper. Buy a mosquito spray repellant from there, it is offered in the room but it is more expensive. Overall we had a dreamy honeymoon that we wouldn't change it for anything else. Thank you Sea Dance Resort. Room Tip: If you want WiFi then ask for room close to restaurant."SANAK RETREAT BALI: "Heaven"
"We visited as a family and had a wonderful time. The villas are super comfy as is the bedding! Food amazing...good wine list...wonderful staff...divine setting...what more could one ask for?Would most def visit again! "Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Garden of Eden"
We stayed for 4 nights at Rice and Zen boutique resort. The word boutique doesn't do justice to the tranquil, serene environment that engulfs you as soon as you land there. Michael has created a small paradise away from the city hustle and bustle. It's tucked away in the midst of rice paddies and the majestic mountains. One could stay here forever. Time comes to a standstill. Everything about the place is lovely. Even the meals prepared by Maya, a lovely lady who was always smiling, are simply delicious! One doesn't need to go anywhere. We had the most beautiful time there and we would go there again.Slow Villas and Spa: "You have to stay there ! Perfect"
