Tugu Bali: "Cooking lessons at Tugu Resort"
"We had an amazing experience at Hotel Tugu; from the initial welcome you could tell we were in for something special. The outdoor setting was immaculately prepared and the fresh ingredients inspired our appetites. Daisey and the chef were engaging and took the time to explain how to build the flavours in Indonesian food. We had our meal in a lovely private setting. After dessert we were treated for a private tour by Jenny, the manager of the resort, who took the time to explain the philosophy of the founder and the history of the resort's various artifacts. In summary Tugu Hotel in Bali is a combination of a 5 star resort and a museum with unique rooms/villas and the personal touch that you get at boutique hotels. Within a stone's throw from a great surfing beach and various other great locations in Canggu; Definitely one of the hidden gems in Bali. "My husband and I came to flower island as part of our honeymoon. This is an absolute MUST! It is honestly a once in a life time experience. I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot, especially through Asia, including Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and the Phillippines. I have also stayed in places like Bora Bora. flower island still amazed me and took my breath away. You are on your own secluded island with only a hand full of guests. You stay in a tree house like accommodation- my husband and I felt like Tarzan andJane! You are surrounded by beauty and it is the most relaxing experience. The staff on the island are so friendly. It is very relaxed, and some people may like that 5 star 'being doted on hand and foot' style of service, but this place is so easy going and care free. The service is genuine and kind. Please remember, they lead an island life style, and it is relaxed. There is a bar and a beautiful, earthy restaurant where all your meals are catered for. Nice home cooked meals. I would recommend you get to the dining area as soon as the meal time begins to avoid the food cooling, as it's a buffet style. Also, as my husband and I swam and kayaked all day, we were a little hungry between meals, so we would recommend you bring some of your own snacks. Also, as it's a place that respects and is in touch with nature, expect some small visitors (like bugs etc) to your room, so maybe bring bug spray to deter mosquitos, and I would recommend a torch. I would also recommend a room with air conditioning as it can get a little steamy. We had this style room and it was comfortable. I would also highly recommend the pearl farm tour. Whilst the tour was interesting, the place where they take you to snorkel is amazing and essentially untouched as the area is highly protected. Most of the coral we saw on previously in our el Nido island hopping tours was dead, but this snorkel spot is just breath taking. The best I have ever seen! On the island as well there is a light house, which you can stay in for no extra charge- a great experience for those who are a Little more adventurous! You can walk to the top of the light house and are presented with a 360 degree view! Amazing. Such a wonderful place that offers priceless views and the most relaxing time away. It is worth the slightly expensive transfers in (van and boat ride) but the speed boat ride itself is exciting- we felt like James Bond on our way in! Very classy and a great entrance! One of my favorites spots I have been to so far in all my travels. Such a beauty and one of a kind. As part of our trip around Myanmar, we spent two nights at the Inle Princess Resort. We arrived at night, meaning we didn't see the grounds until the sun came up the next morning - it was magical. Little bungalows either directly overlook Inle Lake, or two sweet ponds covered with lotus flowers within the resort. The rooms may be a little dated but are very well maintained and truly charming - lovely painting on the walls no matter where you go in the resort. There is also an in-room fireplace for the winter-time where staff can keep a fire going all night! Beds are very comfortable, all the amenities are there and should you seek more the staff will go out of their way to accommodate you. The out-door shower is fantastic! Especially during a rain storm... very romantic. The food is delicious, all locally sourced and prepared either Myanmar style or Western. I had dietary requirements as I have allergies and they were very helpful. Truly very delicious- don't miss the tofu dish on the Myanmar menu, and you must try Shaan noodles for breakfast. The pool is also adorable, set in the middle of rice paddies. Delightful. Our stay was really wonderful, and visiting Inle Lake was a magical experience within itself. Probably our favorite hotel from the entire trip. Thank you!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Our stay"
Worth every penny. Hands down the best food and best service you will have in Nepal. Situated on top of a big hill the lodge boasts views of the Pokhara valley and the imposing Himalaya in the backdrop. Pure luxury and class but never flashy.Satri House: "Wonderful attention to detail"
From the moment you arrive you know you are somewhere very different. Every little detail is taken care of and the personal touch of the owner is everywhere. Satri House is absolutely stunning and we will be back!Tugu Lombok: "Lovely paradise"
Went here one weekend for lunch and to stroll around the place. The moment walked in I fell in love with the beauty and serenity of this place. Food was also good and well cooked. Everything about this hotel is lovely. Perfect for a quiet get away.Manda De Laos: "Manda de Laos"
This restaurant was nothing short of amazing! A beautiful setting by the UNESCO Heritage listed Lilly ponds, coupled with delicious main meals and dessert. If you find yourself in Luang Prabang, this place is definitely worth the visit.Anopura: "Amazing creation in middle of nowhere"
"After reading trip advisor review, i booked this smallest luxury Oasis in middle of nowhere. There were no signages, google map was unable to assist you with direction, there was no signage outside the hotel and even the last patch of road was not in existence...... despite all this i just loved this property. I loved it for its tranquility, isolation and the creation of its maker. Anopura is very tastefully made and very professionally managed with limited people hanging on your head. The food was amazing and the dog 'Latika' was the best companion you could expect at a property like it, very well trained and joyful. Having just two rooms adds the charm to the place as it give you lot of privacy. This is simply great for couples looking for intimate and quality time with each other. Property has a beautiful square swimming pool made of black stone. There common place, kind of ‘baithak’, is very well planned and has comfortable seating, one can see 4/5 kind of mosquito repellants placed here as its an open area. I can keep telling all goodies about this place as my list in endless. Finally I will conclude that I fall in love with this place, will surely come again."Reverie Siam Pai: "Colonial Style"
"The colonial styled hotel is set on the outskirts of Pai, but with a complementary buggy service into town. The grounds are well kept with lots of pathways around the resort. The river that runs through Pai passes the boundary of the hotel with rural views from the river. Very nice rooms situated around the gardens. There are two swimming pools and a smaller paddling pool for children. The breakfast is served and very leisurely. Rooms are large, very clean and tidy with all toilet requirements supplied. No mosquitos ! "Les Maisons d’Itac: "Best place we stayed in the Philippines"
"Me and my gf spent 4 nights at Les Maisons d'Itac. We were supposed to stay for 3, we loved the place so much we decided to stay 1 more night (we couldn't stay longer as the Mayson Ulisse was not available anymore, so we kept our travel plan on). What can we say? Bryan (who spoke italian, we're italians and we have very charming and nice conversations during our stay) has been the perfect host. Always ready to help, charmful and totally welcoming. We booked our trasfers to Bantayan and back to Cebu through him and it was just perfect! The food at the maisons is great, the location awsome. They have an amazing spot for snorkelling just in front of the resort that you can reach in a few mins swimming. What makes this place special (apart from the view, the nature around, the sea) is the SILENCE. In almost a month in the Philippines we never found such a relaxing spot, where you can fall asleep at night hearing at the waves sounds. A true dream come true. If you're looking for a place to stay around Moalboal (it can be reached in 25 minutes scooter ride from the resort, you can rent just asking Bryan) DO NOT HESITATE to book a stay at the Maisons. p.s: say hi to Itac and Stacey for us :) Ciao! Andrea & Marta Room Tip: Maison Ulysse is a must-to-try!"
