Muang La Lodge: "formidable"

Review by: André M | Source: Trip Advisor
Great room overlooking the river. Magnificent bathroom. Raphael and Mathilde are enough for their guests. high-end kitchen, we feasted. The activities are very interesting, beautiful walks in the forest, great track for minority ethnic groups and the descent of the river Nam Ouh is superb. Dream stay at this property which employs people from surrounding villages.

Heritage Suites: "Perfect Place to Spend the Rest of My Life… If only I could"

Review by: BuryMeInVirginia | Source: Trip Advisor
My sister and I shared a bungalow suite and felt very much like queens. She's used to 5-star service, but I'm still a little awe-struck. The room was large with a sitting room, private outside area, and a large king sized bed, with a sturdy mattress and high quality bedding. The service was wonderful. While all of the staff were friendly and helpful, stand-outs for our stay were Sim and Sippa. They were both very attentive to our needs, and suggested things when we asked questions, and Sippa was able to find several options when we told her we wanted to see an Apsara dance. Breakfast is included and is delicious. The coffee was wonderful, the fruit ripe and tasty and the mini croissants and pain-au-chocolats crafted the French way. We ate at the restaurant for dinner once, and we all loved the food. I'm a vegetarian and the chef made sure I could eat eggs and added one to my rice and veggie dish. Tip- get the passion fruit sorbet. To Die For. The pool was lovely and we had drinks two afternoons in a row sitting by the pool. We also got massages while there- they are excellent for relaxing massages but if you're going in for some kind of sports, technical, injury related massage, my advice is to wait for your regular masseuse and enjoy their relaxing massages, which are very good. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day. The return flight about killed me, but this place is worth another visit.

Villa Mathis: "Our new Balinese secret hideaway"

Review by: vette10 | Source: Trip Advisor
We arrived in the middle of the night and what a pleasure it was after the long flight to see our driver patiently awaiting our arrival. It took about 20 minutes from the airport and when we entered our room we knew this was a special place! I immediately regretted booking for such a short stay. Our room (I think it was called The Bintan) was super spacious with an outdoor rainfall shower, soaking bath tub and a GIGANTIC wooden carved bed that is probably one of the sexiest I've ever seen. My 6 foot 4 husband said it was his "dream bed" LOL! We woke to a beautifully designed outdoor area filled with Balinese art and luxurious drapery and made us so happy to be away from the European winter! The breakfast was great with made to order eggs/omlettes and fresh pastries. My travel motto is "you get what you pay for" but Mathis Villas is in my travel experiences a rare exception because the cost was fantastic for what we received. In fact, I am writing this review from a highly rated and more expensive hotel in Ubud and mentioned to my husbsnd (on more than one occasion) that I wished we had stayed at Mathis...I'm aware there is also a Mathis Villa here in Ubud so the next time we're in Ubud we hope to give it a try. Keep up the good work and Im certain we will return!

Locavore: "Great food taste experience and fine dining"

Review by: Ben R | Source: Trip Advisor
Luxury food from local grounds. We received 10 snacks before the actual 7 course menue! They chief really managed to surprise us with overall 17 very different tastes. It’s not a place where you go to eat one dish. But it’s the perfect place to experience a huge variety of tastes. If you are looking for something special - this will be.

Villa Song Saigon: "Truly amazing hotel, elegant, style and great service"

Review by: MATDEN40 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We wanted a special hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and after lots of searching we found the best in Ho Chi Minh City. You could not fault anything about the hotel from the moment we contacted them to make a reservation to the moment we left in the taxi they arranged for us to return to the airport. We loved the setting, right on the Saigon river where we got to enjoy our breakfast everyday watching the boats go by in the beautiful restaurant and terrace. Chef Kevin is an amazing cook and each meal was mouth watering with lots of local flavours. We had upgraded to a sanctuary villa but found the room a little to small for us so they gave us a better room overlooking the restaurant and river. We loved our new room and the way they handled our disappointment. Please note that all 23 rooms are very different and vary in size, we looked at many as we are coming back in September for my hubbies birthday, we hardly ever go back so that says it all about Villa Song. The highlights of the hotel are the beautiful rooms, gorgeous pool, elegant decor, water setting, private hotel speedboat to the city centre, delightful staff and exceptional food with all day breakfast as well as a very clean environment. Also the local restaurants they recommend were excellent with some lovely locals shops and coffee shops a very short taxi ride away. The hotel is about a good tweet minute taxi ride from district 1 after the speedboat stops about 6pm, it is so worth staying in this beautiful area. All of the staff were very courteous and made our stay out of this world. Cannot wait to go back to one of the best hotels ever. A special thanks to Yega, Nhu and Vinh for making our stay blissful and memorable, you truly showed us that great service is still out there. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293925-d1554688-r381751802-Villa_Song_Saigon-Ho_Chi_Minh_City.html#"

Chakrabongse Villas: "Paradise In Bustling Bangkok"

Review by: PEEZGlobal | Source: Trip Advisor
"Shhhhhh" you might want to keep this gem of an inn a secret. As a frequent traveler to Thailand you understand that overnighting in Bangkok is often necessary due to midnight arrivals and 1am departures. We were SO ready to get out of the airport hotels. Set on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, tucked into Old Bangkok, this former royal home of HRH Prince Chkrabongse is a tranquil haven from the noise and stress of Bangkok. Next trip, allow time to rediscover Bangkok as it once was. Each one of the six rooms has a personality all its own. Standard double rooms are Moroccan style, the Riverview and Chinese suites are located in a separate buildings and have fabulous river views from private decks. Rooms are luxuriously appointed with antiques and fabrics that enhance the feeling of stepping back in time. (...) We had the pool all to ourselves as with only six rooms we rarely saw other guests. This place gets a 10 out of 10 on the romantic scale. And, for jaded travelers this place reminds you why we do it. Just make sure that you write down (in Thai) directions for Taxi drivers to get you back to the inn should you go out for the evening as even the local taxis can't find this place. An added bonus is the #1 school for massage two blocks away... 2 hours massages for approx. USD 30. Discover and keep this secret for yourself!

Rachamankha: "Gorgeous, completely unique experience"

Review by: Lilly L | Source: tripadvisor.com
I am confident that this will be one of the best hotel experiences of my life. The setting, designed by Thai architect Ong-ard Satrabhandhu, was gorgeous. The grounds are decorated with lovely antiques in the owner's collection. The service was impeccable, and made the experience particularly idyllic. The pool was stunning, the breakfast immaculate. The common areas--open air reading areas with grand ceilings and beautiful furniture, the library with ceiling-high bookshelves and complimentary brandy--were exquisite. Rachamankha tops out at 26 rooms with no children under 12 allowed, which means the experience will always be serene and intimate. And the price, particularly compared to Western hotels, is completely reasonable. What are you waiting for? Book now, if you can!

Rachamankha: "Beautiful boutique hotel in old city"

Review by: Chris B | Source: tripadvisor.com
Stayed for five nights alone, the staff was wonderful. The breakfast and every meal I had at the restaurant were wonderful. Upon first entering the hotel I thought I was in a temple because it is very beautiful and has a very relaxing vibe, and is so quite inside the grounds of hotel but is a short walk from the walking street.
