My experience at David's Kitchen was nothing short of amazing. It is not very often that the owner of a restaurant is the first one to greet you at the door. David welcomed us with open arms and went out of his way to make a personal connection with both my aunt and I. The service was incredible from the moment we sat down, and the drinks were even better! Throughout the dinner David stopped by twice to see how the food was and to make sure we were having a great time. The highlight of our dinner was definitely the Beef Cheeks- so tender and rich it melts in your mouth! After soup dumplings galore and night market snacks Mume offered a fine dining version of Taiwanese flavours and it was nice to experience the variety. The setting is sleek and minimalist but the service is warm and welcoming. We sampled a range of dishes from the menu which offers snacks, small and big plates including oysters, warm sourdough, potato with Taiwanese bacon, Ox tongue and crispy Amadi. I normally ignore dessert but they were intriguing and lighter with peach sorbet and crispy almonds and cucumber yoghurt mousse. Totally deserving of all the positive reviews. I had an amazing time in the heritage site with superb commentary by the female owner sharing her real-life stories in conserving the place. It was engaging and insightful sharing. "I personally cannot understand the low rating. My experience here was fantastic! I am from the industry and the food & cocktails were on a really high level. Also the casual dress code and relaxed environment just make it better. For Taipei it might not be cheap, but compared to places like Hong Kong or Singapore it is! Beautiful place - if you go there, you never want to leave.... amazing food, great yoga lessons, very friendly staff, excellent food, nice spa. Like Thailand was 30 years ago but better. Stayed here one night with my friend and we did enjoy much! A little bit expensive but it pays back a great experience.i love those decorations, antiques! It's hard to find old machines as of these days, if you wish to feel like travel back time, visit this hotel! I love our huge rooms just open your door and jump in to the pool! Thanks for the birthday present! Foods is fabulous, restaurant is very romantic for couples! Very serene and quite place. If you love nature here in Asia this is the best. And oh! "Very nice place in front of the Mekong. Friendly people in the restaurant, in the whole resort. Romm very quiet, clean. Breakfest and food very good. Beautiful sunset-tour on the Mekong with a guide from the hotel, a drink and snacks. Massage very good!"
