Rachamankha: "A true oasis in the old city"

Review by: Peter S | Source: Trip Advisor
"A beautiful hotel, going into the hotel grounds means truly leaving the city behind, in a lot of ways it is a world of its own, so peaceful. The pool is wonderful, pictures don't do it justice. The staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. Breakfast was amazing. We had diner at the restaurant one night (we did want to experience something of the outside Chiang Mia on the other nights!) and it was wonderful and excellent value for a restaurant of this quality. I would definitely be wanting to say here again if we get back to Chiang Mia. At first we found it difficult to find our way walking to central Chiang Mia given the entrance is off what seems like a series of lanes. We found the best was to walk across one road and into what is the back entrance of the largest temple in Chiang Mia. Walking through the temple grounds and out the front entrance helped get our bearings for the location of the hotel. The hotel is a fair way from the night markets (about a 30~40 minute walk) although transport is cheap and easy to find if you don't want to walk, of course the hotel can book a taxi, or go the front of the temple or out to the cannel to find a way tuk tuk."

Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Great hotel in great location"

Review by: Bechter A | Source: Trip Advisor
The hotel is perfectly located on a white sandy beach with crystal-clear waters just a stone throw away from the Gili islands. The rooms are very spacious and clean and housekeeping is paying a lot of attention to details. Breakfast is great with many choices of made-to-order dishes, dinner choices a bit limited but quality of the food is good. Highly recommend to go for the boat tour arranged by the hotel, the skippers/snorkeling guides will find the best snorkeling spots for you around the Gili islands. All in all a great stay and we will definitely go back.

Villa Mathis: "A 5* hidden retreat … Yet so close to the action"

Review by: Kells100 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I've now stayed here twice as after the first trip, I was so wow'd by the place, I couldn't wait to stay again! The villas are really original in their layout. It's kind of a 'complex' but also kind of private villa-esque! There's several large pools with a handful of very private and secluded (lovely, lovely) villas around each of them. And the whole complex is set over huge grounds! To the point where I actually kept getting lost trying to find my way out! Which is why I say the place is a lovely mix ... Complete privacy, seclusion, lovely grounds and beautiful villas ... but yet, you can still go to the 'complex's' bar, restaurant or main pool to socialize with others ... Or just people watch!! The villa is about 15 mins drive to central Seminyak - so not far at all. And the staff are more than helpful in arranging taxi's or there's the shuttle bus that they have which will take you wherever! The other great thing about this place is the staff! Despite being very discrete, they are always around to cater to whatever it is you need. Nothing is too much trouble. Frank, the manager, is wonderful. He was there to greet me on arrival, showed me round and made me feel very welcome. And in the evenings at the bar - he was there offering advice on what to do, things to see ... As well as once again, making me feel very welcome and at home. A true star ... who I felt genuinely enjoyed what he did! Thanks Frank! Oh and whilst we're on the topic of the bar ... Please order a Pina Colada! Wayan, the barman ... Genius with cocktails! All in all, this place is great! I've stayed in many villas in Bali - love the place! - but this had the benefit of that private villa feel but with the option of 'complex' facilities should you wish to be a bit more social! And of course, as is often the case, it's the staff that make it! Suksma to Frank and the team "

Manda De Laos: "Lovely innovative cooking in special location"

Review by: Segaria226 | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is something of a hidden gem tucked away in a side street away from most of the tourist area. The impressive building surrounds a beautiful lily pond and is a lovely place to eat lunch or dinner. Quite romantic. The food was superb. Lao cooking with a twist. I would especially recommend the succulent spare ribs and the do it yourself lapa or minced lamb salad starter which is really tasty and great fun to ""make"" yourself by the table. The bamboo fish was interesting although not my favourite. Cocktails and wine also great."

THE SAMAR: "Very different and lovely"

Review by: Aquajones | Source: Trip Advisor
"We booked this hotel quite a while ago and having read some of the more recent reviews I had started to get a little worried. I meed not have worried! We stayed here for 3 nights with our children (14&12). We were the only guests in the hotel at the time. We had two rooms which were joined by a living room and two large bathrooms. Beautiful. The hotel arranged our airport transfer which I would recommend. The pool is lovely and although they had problems with the filter at the time we stayed they had this fixed. The area around the pool is beautiful. The breakfast choice is limited but don't let that put you off the food was wonderful. I recommend the noodle soup. We ate lunch by the pool one day and it was beautifully presented and very tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They organised a tuk tuk driver for us to take us to the temples. Chet was great, he would explain things to us and point places out on the way. He also took us to the silk factory one morning (well worth a visit). The girls were given a complimentary facial which they thoroughly enjoyed. I booked a full body scrub which was delightful. When we arrived back at our room each night the hotel had left us local cakes - this was such a sweet thought. The hotel is a little way out of the town but we enjoyed the peace that this gave and also the journeys in and out of the town - a great way to see a little more of the area. I would happily recommend this little gem to anyone. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

David’s Kitchen: "Great food and service"

Review by: Christy Y | Source: Trip Advisor
"The whole place is gorgeous and the layout of the restaurant is very elegant. We first found out about this place on trip advisor and decided to check out this award winning restaurant. The food and service did not let us down. The owner David greeted us with his warm welcome on our table and was actually willing to share his journey as well as listen to ours. The servers are also very attentive and helpful. The food and wine were recommended by David. My boyfriend loved his beef cheek and I had black truffle fettuccine with lobster claw, also amazing! Glad to have spent the date night in here, would recommend to anybody who is looking to dine in an elegant place with great service in chiang mai."

The Tiger’s Eye: "Love goes through your stomach"

Review by: Christer H | Source: Trip Advisor
"I was meeting an old friend to catch up on life, business, future and past. We had dinner at Tigers Eye and decided for the tasting menu with the carefully selected wine to accompany. Your experience is like tossed from the different sensations of Southeast Asia, to NY and Paris, still keeping that fine taste of Khmer cuisine and it's representation. Dinner conversations is truly accelerated by being at the right place, with right food and wine. Tim and his team makes Phnom Penh shine. See you soon again."

Had a great experience Must go"

The Cabochon Hotel: "The Friendliest place in BKK"

Review by: Malin E | Source: Trip Advisor
I do not have enough words for how much I liked this hotel. I was traveling alone with a 10 month old baby (something that can be a bit hard from time to time as you have noone to share the work with). At Cabochon we had a great shelter to return to from the busy streets. Even though I love the whole style of this hotel I still think that the team is what makes it really really special. They are genuine friendly and independent and cared so much for us. Everyone is child friendly. I was able to arrange babysitting with them to go to a spa one evening. On top of this they have a great restaurant attached to the hotel which I can highly recommend. Since everyone wanted to play with my son I was also able to enjoy a peaceful dinner on my own which was quite nice. Breakfast is a treat and you can choose from a selection of breakfast types. We enjoyed an asian breakfast and it was my favourite on this journey. Apart from this the hotel is just beautiful and has a calm and cool colonial flair in the middle of the hot and dirty city. We enjoyed our stay at Cabochon so much that I can not praise this hotel enough!

Amata Lanna: "Wonderful little hide away"

Review by: zakbear | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is the second time to stay at Amana Lannan in Chaing Mai. There are 16 rooms some king bed some twin bed. All have a jacuzzi tub and a shower ,fridge and safe. There is is a lovely pool and gardens and breakfast is included. 2 blocks from the night market and lots of restaurants. They are building a Lannan 2 across the river. The exact same model. The perfect place to relax and get away while being in the middle of it all."
