Locavore: "Our second time, our second amazement"
"We went to Locavore for lunch, and again, were amazed by the whole experience. As soon as we walked in, we spotted all these amazing chefs working around the tiny kitchen, like ballet dancers except for it was their hands who were at the core of the coregraphy. Except for the ""bienvenue"", there was not a single dish that was in the menu when we visited the first time. And we therefore embarked on a 100% new cullinary adventure. We went for the 7-dishes menu, and all of you reading this and planning to try, please do the same. Yes that's a lot, but you may eat less in the evening if you are there for lunch, or just go for a walk afterwards if you dine there. Portions are perfectly sized, and there was not a single bite when we thought ""hum, pretty good"". It was a ""that's unbelievably good""!!!! We went for a very reasonably priced Tempranillo and it did perfectly match everything. We are lucky enough to often have the opportunity to eat at very good restaurants. Locavore offers one of the very very best value-for-money experience. If not the best. In our opinion that is. Make sure you book several weeks ahead if for dinner. Slightly less for lunch. Just find a way to go!"MesaStila: "Thank you so much for a memorable stay"
"It is now a little more than a week ago since we left MesaStila after a very memorable 4 nights stay, and we wish we were still there. The scenic location takes your breath away when you arrive and during your stay, and we never got tired admiring the 8 volcanoes in the different light during the day, and the all so green and lush vegetation all over the resort. The villas are amazing; we stayed in a Arum villa and from the huge balcony enjoyed a beautiful view to the treetops and distant volcanoes. Everything inside the villa was perfect, and food served in the restaurant very delicious and well prepared especially the indonesian dishes we had for dinner. If you are into bicycling the resort has very good mountainbikes to use, and we can recommend to cycle the small country roads to Grabac and back; Java countryside at its best. And just as important: the very kind, good humored and helpful staff also made our stay unforgettable! Thank you to all the staff from grateful guests, we hope to come back. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Flower Island: "Amazing place"
My boyfriend and I stayed here with two friends for 4 days and it was undoubtedly the most wonderful part of our trip to the Philippines! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the island itself is like paradise. We did some fantastic activities too - a tour of a pearl farm (which was fascinating), snorkelling trips, paddleboarding.. And we saw turtles just off the house beach. The huts are beautiful too and all look out to sea. Truely wonderful - we'd recommend this to anyone either as part of an active holiday or looking to chill out for a few days.Tugu Bali: "notre mariage au Tugu"
We stayed a week in this beautiful hotel and we are married. Everything was perfect, the setting, the staff and the organization. exceptional stay in a beautiful place. I recommend this hotel which is also a museum of art by important collection that decorates this magical place. Thanks to the whole team.Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Amazing"
"We spent one night on bassac three which was fantastic. Having had a terrible experience in Halong Bay we were worried- no need at all. We stopped at a coconut factory which was interesting and then joined the boat the cabins were clean and comfortable with an ensuite plenty of hot water. The boat cruised down the Mekong the guide was very knowledgeable and we had a shirt tour of a local village. The food was good and drinks reasonably priced Sitting on the deck watching the local river activity was fantastic, the visit to the floating market on a smaller boat the following morning was also excellent Highly recommended , excellent staff"The Island Lodge: "Lovely and relaxing stay"
"Nice little lodge on a island in the Mekong delta. We stayed in a river view room, nice big room, very clean, comfy bed, Moskito net wasn’t really tight. Beautiful view of the river, very calming. The staff is very friendly and attentive the food is great. We liked the way the breakfast was served: you can order as much as you want, so everything is prepared fresh and the usual mess and waste of a buffet is avoided. Works very well for a hotel of this size. The hotel is popular with families, so it could get noisy. We didn’t have a problem during our short stay."Tandjung Sari: "Bali dreaming"
So greatfull that our friends recommended this gem. It was not too far from airport as I had an early flight the next day, however I was able to be in that old style Bail atmosphere for one night only. Nice cocktails, good food and comfortable spacious villa. Canopy bed to rest peacefully in. I even had a midnight swim!Misool Eco Resort: "Even better the second time around!"
"My wife and I first visited MER in 2013 (if interested, see my review dated July 9, 2013) and returned for our second visit in February of this year. Our observations: In the three years between visits, the fish life has continued to rebound in a remarkable fashion thanks to MER's No Take Zone and ranger patrols of that area. There is so much to see on every dive site. Brilliant colors abound, along with critters galore, sharks and mantas, too! Diving was the focus of our visit and we found the dive operation to be efficiently and expertly managed by Calvin and his support staff. The food was once again plentiful and delicious. A change since last time was the switch during lunchtime from buffet style to family style, where heaping plates of food were passed around each table. Great conversations were had daily when the guests came together at meal time. The grounds are clean and well maintained, the staff helpful and friendly, the spa services are varied and most satisfying and while my wife and I have traveled extensively around the globe, we found ourselves more relaxed on this trip than anywhere before. Marit and Andrew have a spectacular vision for this place and continue to look for ways to conserve and protect this beautiful part of the world, while allowing guests to come along for the ride. What a privilege for those who visit. We're already planning to return in 2018 and we can't wait to once again see the friends we've made at MER. Dave and Elaine"The Island Lodge: "Lovely lodge, beautiful grounds, easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City"
The Island Lodge was perfect for our family holiday. The lodge has a great, handy location, we wanted a taste of the Mekong and did not have time to travel any further yet we felt tucked away in the greenery beside the river. It is a smaller boutique style family owned place with beautiful grounds, gardens and wonderfully friendly helpful staff. The food and the spa are very nice, we had a really enjoyable stay. The Cabochon Hotel: "Outstanding and charming"
Amazingly beautiful colonial style hotel where every single detail has been meticulously thought through. Great staff, beautiful breakfast and the most charming bar with crazy good gin and tonics. Incredible to find such a zen like oasis in the middle of Sukhumvit and all it offers.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
