Nimmu House: "Beautiful hotel with friendly staff"
"The best place I have stayed in India in 4 months! The hotel is situated about 40 minutes from Leh and represents the nature of the area very well, while accommodating tourists in pleasant comfort. This means that it is very stylish designed, both modern and authentic. Also the place is surrounded by local people and even cows. The rooms came with all comfort and you can see that the staff puts in some extra effort to make it super comfortable. Food cooked is very special and delicious. There is plenty to discover in the surrounding area."Nimmu House: "Charming and excellent"
"We stayed fro one night in a tent which was extremely comfortable. The food was also good and the entire property has great ambiance and style. The room was a little noisy in the morning because its in a village and you can't really sleep in late which is also fine in ladakh. The garden and the courtyards are great to sit and relax in. Would recommend this property for sure for a few nights at least. Wonderful experience overall."Muang La Lodge: "A real heaven to explore Laos North East unspoiled life"
Staying three nights in this Secrete Retreats lodge was a great experience as it is totally integrated in a peaceful village with four cultural groups. It is a great way to explore North East Laos interesting cultural life as the lodge team will set you daily programs according to your wishes from Pampering you within the resort itself with massage, foot therapy, manure, pedicure to excursions in the tribal villages with your private guide and four wheels drive vehicule or to next door farming community where you will experience rice planting with a buffalo or a lunch in a local house cooked according to your tastes with organic products. A lot of tropical wood will help you to relax. Wifi is available and AC will help you to chill. Delicious fresh juices or your favorite cocktail will be served to you in the reception area with a view on the river. A 5 dinner courses with local lao products is available in the evening. "Rooms can be beautiful, beaches pristine clear, food excellent (and all of this was), but what makes an hotel stands out from the rest is its staff! I do not know when and if I shall return to Tugu Lombok but it has made a mark in my travel experiences! Everything eas just so perfect and the last night surprise when we returned to the room way so thoughtful. We just felt genuinely welcomed as guest and not just customers! We leave this hotel with a feeling I have very rarely felt in all my travels! Thank you Tugu hotel Lombok"Mathis Retreatco: "Your success howerver you want it: from very quite to exploratory"
"It is our second stay at the Mathis retreat (Kenanga last year) and the manageress; Karne, has maintained a charming atmosphere with excellent food, very kind staff and excellent service. While stilll close to Ubud, the hotel surrounding is peaceful with rice fields mixing lush greens with mirror images of the sky. The swimming pool is large enough to play or exercise. The path next to the hotel is a lovely way to walk down to Ubud across the rice fields, the frogs, the birds, and the hard working farmers. from the many attractive excursions, we selected those that would drive us closest to the balinese people and their natural landscape. The Ayung river trekking was exotic enough, adjusted to our desires and capabilities on the spot; full of anecdotical explanations on the flora, fauna and traditions, with a lunch stop at a traditional village with breathtaking Banian Trees (sacred trees next to temples) where we had a friendly conversation with a 3 generations family. Our daughter; a keen photographer; went for the sun rise on the rice fields for a full 360 degrees sensation, and reaching those remote places as a motorbike passenger was an extra bonus. And we are still so far from having exploited all the possibilities, that you may be sure to find us there next year."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Gorgeous place"
We came up to the Lodge for supper - what a very special place, amazing views!! Supper was delicious most of the veggies served came from their very own garden, salad and beetroot, yum!! To be led back down the path to our car in the rain by the staff holding umbrellas and torches just added magic to a special evening!!Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Typical Khmer House in a lush garden"
"It took a bit of time to book a place in Battambang. We ended up at Maison Wat Kor, which is in a village outside Battambang. We liked our choice, since the town is pretty noisy and not too beautiful, while the village was very nice. Maison Wat Kor is great and the rooms are in typical khmer villas, very spacious, with high ceilings and dark wood furnitures. We had a lotus room upstairs, so we also had a very nice terrace with a couple of chairs, a table and a great view on the garden. The pool was great as well. After a day out at 35 degrees it was so relaxing and refreshing to take a swim. We had dinner at the hotel one night, they have daily menus that they can adapt in case you're vegetarian (as I am) and dinner was good. All the activities we did have been organised through the hotel. You might need a tuk tuk every time you go out, so please try to stick with the same driver. It's a great income for them, in particular when it's not peak season. Our driver was great and it was also very funny and nice; it took us to eat in places where he would have had lunch, he told us about his life and more in general life in Cambodia, it was very interesting to hear from someone local who doesn't need to sell you a perfect image of a country. His english was also great, which is not common in Cambodia. We went to the Circus twice in Battambang and I'd recommend to everyone to do so. The concept behind the Circus school is great, the shows are really entertaining and it's a great way to spend the night. There are 3 different shows every week, and there is a total of 5 shows per week: check with the hotel for the show and the dates as the other info we had from travel guides and internet were not up-to-date. We spent 3 nights in Battambang, maybe 2 nights would have been enough. My husband also got a massage at the hotel and it is the one he loved the most during our trip. As almost everywhere in Cambodia, everyone was extremely polite and kind, the staff would really do anything to please you and they were always talking to us using our names. I found pretty sweet the picture of Angelina and Brad on display at the reception and outside the room they stayed in...I guess the only thing that we didn't find great was the transfer option to Sihanoukville, which the hotel initially offered us for $180 (vans and bus are much cheaper, but unfortunately my husband's back was not 100% and we opted for private transfers this time); in town we found the same transfer for $120, so either negotiate or go to the town, as this is the current price for a transfer. Maison Wat Kor is a calm oasis with the kindest staff and the best atmosphere. You're going to love it. Room Tip: We loved our Lotus Room close to the pool (upstairs so we got the terrace as well)"Satri House: "Quiet very stylish place with excellent breakfast under new competent management"
"The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Glenburn Tea Estate: "All you need to know about tea"
A fantastic three night stay on the Glenburn Tea Estate. Amazing, sumptuous suite with fabulous views of Kanchanjunga, Sikkim and Darjeeling. Delightful guide lead walks around the tea plantations and a very interesting tour of the tea factory complete with tea tasting. The food was exquisite, the setting dreamlike and the service second to none. The 40 minute jeep drive from the main road down a very bumpy, twisty track descending 3000 ft is not for the feint hearted, but for others it may add to the adventure. The drivers were marvellous. We never fealt unsafe. The Island Lodge: "Wonderful Mekong holiday"
Wonderful Mekong escape just two hours from Saigon. A totally different world watching the boats go by, bicycling on Unicorn island on our own or in nearby Ben Tre province through cacao and coconut farms, a short boat ride away, arranged through the hotel. Michel and Francoise are delightful hosts, as was the manager, Emi. Resort is somewhat pricey for Vietnam standards, but worth it. Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and either have river views or are garden bungalows, both with terraces. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and food is delicious. At least the duck, beef carpaccio, seafood soup, gazpacho... All the breads and pastries are homemade. Wine prices are reasonable by the glass or bottle, and corkage fee if bring own is 200,000.
