Villa Mathis: "Excellent"
The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Lovely Boutique Hotel — Very Well Located"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cabochon over Christmas. The hotel is small and styled in the old colonial manner. It's located in a retail/residential area of Sukhumvit Road and is set back a bit from the main road, so was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent -- both buffet and hot menu items are offered. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening and the food/service there was excellent as well. Reservations for the restaurant are recommended if you're there during a busy time -- it appeared a number of the other diners came from outside the hotel. All emails setting up the initial reservation were answered promptly and thoroughly, and the car from the airport to the Cabochon, arranged with the hotel prior, was there waiting for us -- even though we ended up being delayed several hours. The car is worthwhile if you're arriving in the middle of the night, as we did. If you arrive during regular hours, you can take the train to the Phrom Phong stop, which is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk straight to the hotel. If you take the train from the airport, you would need to make one change, and carry bags up/down stairs at some point. We had a top floor room which was spacious and clean. Bottled water was provided daily, which was appreciated. The rooftop pool was small but lovely, with a beautiful view over parts of the city. The easy walk from the hotel to the sky train stop was very convenient as the sky train takes you all over, including to the stop for the Chao Phraya tourist boat, which in turn takes you all along the river to the beautiful temples, Chinatown, etc. All the hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Our only small suggestion would be to increase the wattage in the rooms -- the lighting was pretty dim and a little extra light in the evening would be helpful. We would love to return to the Cabochon on a return visit to Thailand, and would recommend it for both families and couples."Villa Song: "Paradise by the River"
"Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely riverside villa earlier this month. Beautifully appointed with an attentive staff to match. Highlights included ultra-comfortable room and wonderful breakfasts and cocktails overlooking the river. Highly recommended"Villa Song Saigon: "Oasis"
This hotel is a good choice if you wish to spend some time relaxing at the hotel. The location is not near the main sights but they are an easy taxi ride away, so we didn't find this a problem. If you enjoy cute and chic boutique hotels this is a good choice in saigon. The restaurant has spectacular view of the river. The breakfast was superb.Talabgaon: "Treated like royalty in a royal palace"
"The first thing to say about reviewing Talabgaon Castle is that in order to differentiate these 5 stars from any earlier 5 star reviews, I should probably go back to the others and knock them down to 4 stars ... its just that good. The setting, the staff, the food, the amenities, the service ... all were top notch. We (as a couple) spent two nights here in January 2016. The staff were awaiting our arrival, and cool drinks and towels provided after the couple of hours drive from Agra (it is closer to Jaipur but we were going the other direction). Our bags were taken swiftly to our opulent room on the ground floor, and soon we were eating our first meal. This being the 6th day of our first trip to India, staying generally in upper market accommodation, we have become accustomed to good Indian food - but this took it to the next level. Flavours literally bursting. (...) For our final morning, the hotel staff set our breakfast table out in the courtyard of the gardens. In a nutshell - if you're able to stop over here ... even if its a little out of the way ... then do so. You will I am sure be as surprised, impressed and amazed as we were."Tugu Malang: "Prachtig hotel met uitstekende voorzieningen en vriendelijk personeel"
"We stayed for 2 nights and we're completely amazed by the special atmosphere of the Tugu Hotel Bali. This small museum of Indonesian art and history left us mesmerized. The lovely staff of the hotel made us feel at home and bringing hospitality to the next level. Our suite was wonderful, on the second floor with a huge Balinese style tub and great ocean view. Very rustic appearance, but with all modern conveniences and a very romantic and confy bed beautifully crafted . The natural beauty of the property gardens make it beautiful during the day and enchanting at night. We enjoyed the lush breakfast, with a wide variety of freshly made juices, that could be served anytime and anywhere we wanted. Every Thursday night the hotel has a cultural evening, with traditional dances what allowed us to know a little bit better the Balinese culture."The Twelve Hotel: "Absolute ruhe Oase"
"We travelled from Pelling to Glenburn and the journey to put it mildly is HORRENDOUS. ""Roads""""do not exist and one can feel the bumps in every corner of your body. The last 45mins to an hour is equally bad but the place more than makes up for the travel hazard. Faye and Will (the outgoing Managers) take great care of your every need and the service is extremely personalized. One is not rushed into doing anything, whether it be food timings or day trips. Ranjan Chhetri the local manager is gracious and feeds you with anecdotes of the surroundings. We stayed at the Rose Suite which is well appointed and has ALL creature comforts besides truly living up to its name!!! We ere also lucky to meet up with the estate manager Mr Hussain. He regaled us with stories of the region where he has spent more than 26yrs. The common dining area is a good meeting point fro all the guests but one also has an option to dine in your room with silver service. A must visit again place. Excellent collection of books and magazines to read. No television in the room is a great boon. Kindly try and do something about the road to and from the property."The Island Lodge: "Chill out space extraordinaire"
You know that feeling of leaving a perfect place and grieving for that experience? Well, that is how we feel right now. The Island Lodge provided us with much needed healing and relaxation from the stresses of our work, health issues and our lives in the 'rat race'. The world is becoming a harder place but The Island Lodge provides a respite from all of that. Thank goodness for such a place. We spent most of our time outside or on our balcony watching the river life - a busy artery of interest and diversity. The breakfast was personalised - no buffet. Beautiful basket full of breads, a variety of juices, eggs to suit and more. Dinner and a nice wine list enhanced the open wall dining area so we could still see the river! Pool was the perfect temperature for me. A comment about the staff - they were gracious, polite and seemed to be able to predict your needs. Thank you to all.
