MesaStila: "A great retreat"

Review by: 356rahel | Source: Trip Advisor
It was our second stay at Mesa Stila and we were totally happy and look forward to going there again. The beautiful wood carvings and traditional furniture in the villa, the great service combined with lovely dishes and extremely well trained staff made our stay very unique.

Supanniga Eating Room: "Amazing and varied selection of great food"

Great little find this restaurant, fantastic food in a good location that is both quiet and accessible. I highly recommend the Isan-style Pork Steak.

muang la: "Northern Laos a very special spa resort"

Review by: Theresa S | Source: tripadvison.com
"Situated on a river with hot springs and nestled in beside a small village this Hotel taught us more about high quality cuisine and life in Laos than any other. It was unseasonably cold but with coal fires in buckets (!) at each table and a large fire pit close by we were never cold. Hotwater bottles in the beds, hot thermal tubs on stilts in amongst the trees, a pool on an island, I think you must be getting the picture that this is a pretty special place. From the hotel we visited hill villages and this is a great place to hike from. Picnics, 4x4 vehicles and guides, transfers etc all organised by this hotel. It is a remote part of Laos and therefore very unspoilt. This is a gem of a hotel in such a far away place "

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Magical"

Review by: Caroline E | Source: Trip Advisor
An amazing place and well worth the travel to get there. Beautiful location, very comfortable and excellent food. We stayed 3 nights. It was lovely swimming in the river, although beware of the changing current. We walked in the forest and canoed around the island opposite.

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A visit to paradise"

Review by: Lawrence H | Source: Trip Advisor
"I had another destination in mind for my Easter holidays, but a friend told me I had to go to Nepal, and especially to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Great advice. The lodge is beautiful, in a magnificent location, and very comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceedingly attentive to me as well as to the other guests. Tiger Mountain was the perfect centerpiece of my first visit to Nepal. The staff was ready to make my visit as active as I wanted it to be, with many options for walking and hiking, sightseeing, or simply relaxing at the pool with one of the most fantastic views in the world. The meals were special events in themselves, with a choice of either western or Nepali cuisine. Yes, Tiger Mountain offers a glimpse of paradise. Stayed April 2017, traveled solo"

MesaStila: "A perfect sanctuary in the hills"

Review by: barneyinkaz | Source: Trip Advisor
"This place is honestly as good as you can hope to find for a holiday. Absolutely everything about it was perfect. It's difficult to know where to start in describing it but the big things were: - The estate is all exquisite, colonial style - built and collected by one (Italian) lady over 20 or so years. Her passion shows through in every price of furniture and every building. Fortunately it is still beautifully maintained even today - The service is far from old school though. The staff knew us perfectly and were fantastically well coordinated everywhere we went. If we were having lunch, they would confirm our spa plans for the afternoon, for example. Very slick. - The rooms were fantastic. Spacious, well equipped and with the most incredible views of the mountains and jungle below us. - There were activities all through the day: horse riding, coffee plantation tours, spa treatments. All entirely optional but very insightful and inspiring. There were also lots of outdoor games like croquet etc for us to play. - The afternoon tea was a perfect touch end of the day - sitting out on the Verandah... - The food was excellent. Always really tasty and a great blend of western and Javanese - The spa and hammam were incredible. The Hammam was such a treat - a full Turkish bath that was luxuriously decked out. The staff were also probably the best masseuses that we've ever seen - We did a few excursions / walks through local plantations or up one of the nearby peaks. They were a must do for me - so perfect. This place is basically like ""out of africa"" in java - just perfect. Stayed February 2017, traveled with family"

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A superb, ecologically responsible, luxury holiday close to nature"

Review by: Glacierlfc | Source: Trip Advisor
"A wonderful location immediately adjacent to the park, you cannot camp inside, An oasis of tranquility, superb hospitality and eco-responsibility that sets it apart from other safari operations serving Yala National Park. Delivers true luxury, superb food while maintaining a very low impact. Thoughtful, highly knowledgeable guides and drivers, that clearly love and respect the wildlife and habitats. The camp is spacious, well laid out, and has a charming 'homely' feel, as a guest you feel like a member of an extended family. The three meals a day are fresh, local, wonderfully presented Sr Lankan cuisine, with spicing tempered to the guest preferred palate. Noel (the owner), Praneeth (my guide and companion) and Priyantha (driver/ waiter/ and magically at hand, smiling at every turn) were all superb. Great for anyone with a interest in wildlife, not just leopard spotting, who wants to experience and be close to nature in a sustainable manner. An immense knowledge of the park and its environs, working in partnership with the park staff: a member of the park service and/or wildlife department joined our vehicle and assisted with spotting and interpretation of likely animal locations given prevailing conditions. Specialist, 4WD land cruisers, fitted 6/7 guest open-sided viewing platforms. In truck refreshments, guide books, binoculars and viewing aids, everything you could need to hand. Responsibly driven inside and outside of the park, unlike many others that clearly were not. I cannot wait to return again. Thank you guys."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Jewel in the Crown"

Review by: Julie F | Source: Trip Adviaor
"My Glenburn experience started in Calcutta where we met up with the owner Husna Tara and her colleagues for an incredibly informative and fun trip round that fascinatingly historical city. It was great to have local knowledge and to be treated to a special Bengali lunch at a private apartment followed by sunset boat trip down the river. A very personal experience quite unlike any other I have had. Then it was up to Glenburn. Yes, the journey is quite long but there is a lovely picnic en route with sandwiches and tea in bone china cups and so much to see on the way that time passes quickly and the final bumpy bit was not as bad as I had feared! Anyway, once you arrive at the beautiful location and are treated to a warm welcome and a cold drink while you get your breath the journey seems insignificant. The rooms are all different and all gorgeous with Indian cottons, lovely lighting, hand embroidered sheets and framed prints. I was shown to a huge suite in the Water Lilly bungalow where I could wallow in a deep bath in the enormous marble tiled ensuite....luxury indeed! Being at Glenburn is not like staying in a hotel, more like staying in the private home of a benevolent host who has thought of everything to make your stay special. From bed tea with homemade biscuits to breakfast on the lawn, lunch under the pomelo tree, drinks round the bonfire and friendly chatty dinners with other guests, it is all a treat. The walk to the river camp is steep but your reward is a fully staffed picnic awaiting you. It is fun just to roam around the tea estate seeing how the villagers live. Will and Faye the delightful onsite managers are willing to help in any way they can to ensure that every whim is catered for. Although there are several activities that can be enjoyed it is just lovely to relax on a lounger admiring the view, go pottering round the gardens, smelling the sweet peas, admiring all the neat vegetable beds and popping into the tempting gift shop! All in all I found the whole experience truly special and quite unique."

Mie Cafe: "A wooden House restaurant"

We had dinner here and we ordered the Amok fish, fried vegetable beef, fried rice with Angkor Beer. This was a nice dinner. The staff here were friendly and the service was quickly. Highly recommend.

Tugu Bali: "Excellent romantic artistic getaway"

Review by: Coleta A | Source: Trip Advisor
"The history and art of this exclusive hotel is very interesting. The staff can tell you even more about the art. The hotel is beautiful and gives you al the freedom and serenity you need. After a year of hard work, we arrived in Bali and stayed at the Tugu hotel the first couple of days. Our room had a perfect beach view with an incredible sunset. Just WOW. Waking up with the rhythm of the waves in the back ground is so relaxing... From the moment we arrived we found that peace and holiday feeling we have been waiting for for so long. Everybody of the staff is very polite and gives you the feeling that you are special, that you are welcome, that you are their number one priority. They give you the attention you need. Not to little not to much. Excellent job every one. A special thank for you, Arie. You have been so nice and so friendly. You did the extra mile for us. Terima kasih dari Amsterdam. Canggu becomes more and more popular - which is a good thing. And just out of the hotel you'll find some nice bars and cool hangouts (also on the beach). Unfortunately that becomes some kind of a mismatch with the serenity and calmness the Tugu hotel has so well mastered."
