"We stayed here for two nights this week and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are attentive and caring and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing. The restaurant has a wonderful mix of French and Vietnamese food which is five star quality We spend our days by the pool watching the board go by and saw two magnificent sunsets at the end of the piers. I fully recommend taking advantage of the day trips on offer and they are very good and give a great insight into day to day life on unicorn island. If we are ever in the area again we would love to return. Room tip: try and get a river view room, we stayed in room 3 and it was perfect."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A visit to paradise"
"I had another destination in mind for my Easter holidays, but a friend told me I had to go to Nepal, and especially to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Great advice. The lodge is beautiful, in a magnificent location, and very comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceedingly attentive to me as well as to the other guests. Tiger Mountain was the perfect centerpiece of my first visit to Nepal. The staff was ready to make my visit as active as I wanted it to be, with many options for walking and hiking, sightseeing, or simply relaxing at the pool with one of the most fantastic views in the world. The meals were special events in themselves, with a choice of either western or Nepali cuisine. Yes, Tiger Mountain offers a glimpse of paradise. Stayed April 2017, traveled solo"Rachamankha: "Destination: Another world"
This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Architect designed as a labour of love. The inspiration for the buildings has been gleaned from chinese courtyard hotels, roman peristyles, palladian, and 20th century modern. The result - perfection. I immersed myself in the architect's thinking, enjoying an afternoon in the library surrounded by his architecture, art and design books, and enjoying a glass of brandy. Every angle and line in this small boutique complex is simple, harmonious and peaceful. The hotel is hidden behind a series of courtyards, taking you deeper into the private and serene inner sanctum of the hotel. The main courtyard has the rooms leading off either side and at the end, and looks like it may have been built 600 years ago. There is a central "longhouse" style open area where we enjoyed a glass of wine at the end of each day, lounging on the sofas and browsing the art books and the decorative displays. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Nice bathrooms, lovely furniture, modern TV and audio, and more art books :). The pool is beside the main courtyard and behind the library. This pool area is a little more modern, resort hotel in style, but still beautifully designed. The pool is bright and clear, and refreshing. A house at the end of the pool provide towels, and upstairs you can have a massage. There is a restaurant and a boutique at the front of the hotel. There are many cafes, restaurants, sights, and shops within walking distance, the hotel being not far from the wall and close to several temples. A tuk tuk will take you further if it is too far to walk. However, I really didn't want to leave.Locavore: "Still surprised after reading all the reviews about Locavore"
"It doesn't happen to me very often, but in this case the atmosphere and expectations raised by the reviews of hundreds of Tripadvisor members did not reflect the genuine experience we had by dining at Locavore. This kind of intro-paragraph will mostly precede a rather negative and contrary viewpoint but in this case I must say the evening we spend here was truly mesmerising. The amuse-bouches were drenched in local flavours even though some fitted on my fingernails. Imagine with that the 'Ashes' cocktail (you will indeed put a burning stick into the concoction, thus releasing a fair bit of ashes in your drink) and culinaire paradise in coming into wide view. The mains - we went for the 7 courses menu - were a mixed bag with caffeinated fish as a weird but surprisingly good part of it. Overall it is the combination of the nouvelle-cuisine presentation on the dishes combined with the exotic, original and authentic taste of local ingredients (chili pepper flowers, anyone?) that made this a very special evening for the both of us. Do try the Balinese coffee at the end. With a total bill of around 2.700.000, including two glasses of excellent Sangiovese, we probably spent more than half the average salary of the people working there, but as this works out at 160 Euro it was money more than well spend."Villa Mathis: "Best luxury hotel i ever experienced"
"I travel a lot to thousands of destinations but this one is absolutely incredible. I never had a feeling like i am in paradise the music , the food , the atmosphere everything is perfect I recommend to everyone to go there you will not be disappointed If i could put a 10 star i definitely would"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Perfect peace and relaxation"
"After a hectic 2 week tour in India and Nepal this was a perfect place to relax and unwind before returning to UK. Perched on the top of a steep hill the location is amazing with fantastic views over the Annapurna mountain range and down into the Pokhara valley. One didn't mind getting up at 0545 to watch the sun rise over the mountain range, having been woken by the staff with a pot of tea delivered to the room. At the other end of the day sit on the terrace with tea and home made cakes and biscuits to watch the sun set over the mountains. In between very knowledgeable nature guides cater for all abilities with short or long walks bird and butterfly spotting. Alternatively, relax by the infinity pool gazing across to the mountains. Simple but well cooked and presented food with choice between Nepalese or Continental with most of the food grown locally or on site. All waiter served, hot and fresh from the kitchen. Tea and coffee with home made cake and biscuits on tap whenever you want. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. Marcus, the manager took the time to meet and get to know all the guests. It was such a shame that I only had 3 nights there, I would have liked to spend so much longer and experience more nature walks. Fantastic"The Island Lodge: "Such luxury"
So close to HCMC but away from the bustle. We were greeted by staff and Michel ( the host). Our room was authentic country luxury with no marble in site. Gave us a feeling of tropical colonial luxury. A beautiful pool, tropical gardens, amazing French cuisine for dinner and breakfast. Staff were incredibly polite and service was amazing. Thanks so much for sharing your spot of paradise.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Best lodge in Pokhara… if not the whole of Nepal"
Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge was by far the best place we stayed in our month long trip to Nepal. Marcus was a fantastic host, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best ever. The lodge itself is beautiful and the view will definitely make you want to outstay your visit!
