Satri House: "Sophisticated and elegant"
"We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel booked through Selective Asia. Our room was completely charming, with very comfortable beds and solid furniture, with a good sized bathroom. The whole hotel setting is gorgeous, with unusual and atmospheric antiques and artefacts everywhere, and a mix of colonial houses linked together by walkways, pools and fountains. Tremendous style oozes from all parts of this boutique Hotel, from the maze of corridors and lily ponds, to the garden and swimming pools. It’s eclectic, but really beautifully done. Service was very good - both in the lovely airy restaurant and at reception. All the staff were always very happy to help, whether it was for issuing bicycles, getting drinks or towels, or helping us to get in touch with our guide unexpectedly. There was plenty of drinking water in our room, and a lovely fruit bowl, but the mini bar was only filled on request - with no wine option! The garden/pool bar was ideal for cocktails, but its situation meant it was rather dominated by road noise and construction noise from a neighbouring property....the same machine noise also prevented my excellent massage in the spa being as relaxing as it might have been (maybe shut the doors and put on some quiet relaxing music during treatment?). We ate at the delightfuk upstairs restaurant one evening and really enjoyed our meal and some good wine. Our breakfasts there were freshly cooked to order, served very carefully, and were wonderful. We loved the homemade tamarind, pineapple and tomato jams and delicious local freshly squeezed orange juice, and freshly toasted baguette! The free bikes (about to be renewed for the new season) were a great way to get into the centre of town - it is a good 20 mins walk without them to reach the main restaurant area, although the night market (which is a must for souvenirs) is nearer, say 10 mins walk. The only thing we found rather awkward was our check-in, which felt a bit uncomfortable from our point of view, with irrelevant small talk when we were tired from travelling. Nevertheless, we loved this hotel and can highly recommend it as a unique and wonderful boutique hotel in a beautifully city."Cuca: "Truly fantastic food"
Wonderful food in a fantastic restaurant. Great care has been taken to create a dish which produced the most amazing combination of flavours and textures. It is unusual to find a restaurant that produces a range of tapas that each dish tastes incredible Derek Simpson ScotlandPindaya Farm House: "Amazing Boutique Hotel"
Such a jewel. Amazing view from restaurant. Great food. Clean rooms. Friendly service. Just as the name suggests. Pls check the photos. Had a wonderful experience. Will definitely come back to again. Bravo!!Maison Polanka: "Luxury and pracefulness"
My wife and I visited in March and stayed in the separate room beside the dining and pool area. The service was excellent, as were the facilities. The staff were always helpful and we always felt we were returning to a luxurious retreat every time we came back from a day of temples and walking in the heat. We would happily stay again.David’s Kitchen: "Wonderful food and service"
All the reviews say it all. If you are visiting Chiang Mai and your budget allows this restaurant is a must. Prices are about the same as a good restaurant in the UK. Food is exceptional, very large choice to suit all palettes. Great wine list. The service is very attentive nice touch is that David greets dinners. Wonderful experience.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Fantastic views"
Very attractive lodge with a wonderful view of the mountains weather permitting. Arrived here after a 4 day trek and it was heaven to enjoy a hot shower, delicious meal and very comfortable room. Very attentive staff providing a great welcome and stay.Le Passe-Temps: "Highlight of our trip"
We were on a family holiday in Khao Thong for 2 weeks with my husband, our 2 kids, my dad and his girlfriend. We contacted Olivier via email to make a reservation for dinner. They sent through the menu and price for that night and we arranged a time for someone to pick us up. Arriving there was breath taking, the setting, the atmosphere and then that view! simply stunning! The kitchen normally doesn't open until 7.30 but they suggested serving our dinner earlier as we had 2 little kids with us. We had a cocktail on the beach while gazing at the sunset with our feet in the warm sea water, followed by a lovely dinner served family style. Portions were on the smaller side but they give many dishes so we never went home hungry. Everyone who worked there was so lovely, spoke English and French very well and so accomodating. We went back once more for dinner and one morning for paddle boarding. Will definitely consider this resort to stay at next time we come to Krabi!!!MesaStila: "My only regret is that I was only there one night"
"This resort is truly stunning. The villa was huge - built in the traditional style - so it's actually very simple but has a real wow factor. Massive bed with ornately carved canopy. Separate seating area, outside verandah. Lovely staff, great restaurants. It's a big resort so plenty of walking required but it's such a pleasure to walk around you don't care. There are plenty of activities on offer from yoga to coffee plantation tours to croquet or outdoor chess. Pool area is delightful with a spa and gym that we did not have time to use. If you get the chance to stay here, don't pass it up. Definitely one of the best resorts I have ever had the fortune to stay in."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Fabulous place"
"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nimila, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. Highly recommended."Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Good food, clean, comfortable and tranquil"
Spa water fills the hot water tubs, in which you can relax before supper. The setting is by a stunning river, with farmers working the fields. The food was of a high standard. The rooms large and comfortable. Ours had a veranda overlooking the spa pools by the river in which the local villagers come to bathe. Very polite and attentive staff. It is worth doing the day trip to see the local hill villages. They have few western visitors and are fascinating and friendly.
