Tugu Lombok: "Vast rooms with plunge pools, lots of art and relaxed friendly style"

Review by: happyholidaygirl059 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We arrived here at the end of our holiday. Set on a very pleasant quiet area of Lombok near a local village it has great grounds with lots of sculptures and rather wacky at times art but fun! Room - very big with an enormous double bed, facing out onto a sweet garden then straight onto the beach also the garden has a great plunge pool. Comfortable rooms with good linen and bedding. We had an outdoor shower, bath etc and again a back garden complete with fish and additional water features! Staff - a delight, friendly yet professional with a good sense of humour and interest in their clientele. One spent ages teaching me the local Indonesian words they really. You can have your meals wherever you want here - on the beach, by the pool nothing is too much for the staff. Food: We were impressed with he food and enjoyed trying the different indonesian dishes for lunch and even breakfast - try the black rice with coconut and palm sugar. Afternoon tea is a mixture of local delicacies and sweet cakes. Facilities: two really great pools, paddle boards and all the snorkelling great available as well as bikes. We did a snorkelling trip on the hotel boat which is a traditional craft, lovely picnic provided by the hotel. Snorkelling is quite nice although I worry that full marine control isn't quite happening in Gilli and Lombok - lots of boats and lot of fishing - so we didn't see very many big fish but 4 turtles!! We did a great bike ride and enjoyed cycling through the villages where everyone was very smiley and welcoming. We took Adi one of the hotel drivers for a day and had a day trip - he was great, flexible and recognised easily what we wanted. The grounds - they really are a delight and make for a very restful holiday. Everything is easy. I was greeted each morning by the man who did the flower arrangements for all the rooms and dining and he always offered me one of his creations....it just is a friendly and easy place. I would readily come back."

Labyrinth: "Love it"

Review by: Jessica W | Source: Trip Advisor
Wanted to come here for the longest time, even before they earned their Michelin star, but for some reason I kept putting it off. It was a very pleasurable experience to have lunch at Labyrinth. Service was great and the food presentation on point. I was bummed that they discontinued the “Xiao long bao” dessert. This restaurant is like a savory version of Non Entree Dessert. Already planning another visit next month!

Tugu Malang: "Wonderful stay in a slightly eccentric hotel."

Review by: ozone_warrior | Source: tripadvisor.com
"What an experience!! This hotel was perfect, get the best room you can afford - it is so worth it. The hotel is an attraction in its own right, make sure you take the tour to see the VIP suites and function rooms., the bizarre collection of furniture and nick nacks courtesy of the owners. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and all of the trips we took originated from their suggestions and with their help. The piece de resistance is the full day tour to Mt Bromo with waterfall included, organised and accompanied by front desk staff (amazing). Malang itself is a wonderful indonesian city with first rate coffee shops, a great bird market and some lovely streets to walk down. PS(the free afternoon tea is a must)"

Jing’s Residence: "You must stay here!"

Review by: MarcSantaCruz | Source: Trip Advisor
"It's beautiful. really. The rooms and courtyards and hotel lobby. All done excellently. The restaurant is beyond fantastic. We had two dinners there (they were included in the package we selected). It's a fixed menu and each dish was superb. My girlfriend, who is Chinese, said each dish really captures the essence of Chinese cooking with a subtle balance of tastes. It's quiet. We were in the back of the hotel (and there were few other guests). We were able to sleep with our window next to the bed open for natural cooling. The hotels offers a free transfer from the railway station and its centrally located in the ancient city, but far enough away from the tourist area not to be noisy or crowded. It is only a 3 minute walk along East street to get to the main intersection with South street. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. English mastery varies person to person, but it is easy to communicate."

Satri House: "Absolutely loved this hotel"

Review by: Julie D | Source: Trip Advisor
"Really enjoyed our stay here. It was tranquil, lush gardens, very professional staff and the loveliest rooms with a morning makeup and evening turndown service, even replacing our towels at both times. We enjoyed the a la carte breakfast. Plenty of choice. Most days we headed out to sight see, which the hotel staff organised without a glitch. Upon returning from each tour, we relaxed poolside. Both pools were lovely, we preferred the smaller more refreshing pool after a hot day out. Be sure to take out one of their bikes to explore this beautiful town. And the French Bakery in town makes the loveliest, croissants, pastries and baguettes. Highly recommend!"

Manda De Laos: "Amazing restaurant"

Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect tranquility"

Review by: Turnedoutniceagain | Source: Trip Advisor
"We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful, peaceful resort. It is perfect relaxation. The room was huge and perfectly secluded in the lush tropical grounds with plants strategically placed to ensure maximum privacy. The bed was super comfortable, there was TV, mini bar, tea + coffee and lovely open air (but very private) bathroom. Well serviced daily with clean towels etc. The swimming pool was beautiful and not crowded, really quiet and relaxing in a natural setting. Pool towels are provided every day, you just pick them up from a basket by the side of the pool. There is also a large carp pond next to the pool, the carp put a real show at times leaping about. Quite entertaining if you get bored of watching the amazing sunsets. The food was excellent with a good choice of both local and Western, although you may find the menu a bit limited if you are there for a long stay. The Kampot Pepper ice cream is delicious! Breakfast is a la carte, there was no problem or extra charge for ordering more than one dish. All the staff were wonderful, really helpful and friendly. If you want to sit up late drinking and partying, or need to have nightly entertainment laid on, this is not the place for you. It is a beautiful, relaxing resort for a total de-stress. The peaceful town of Kep (which has a beautiful sandy beach perfectfor swimming) is just a short trip away via tuk tuk, which the hotel will book for you."

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Excellent, an example for culinary experiences"

Review by: Urs A | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is my second visit to the Seeds. The garden enchants me again and again, especially the sunset at the lake is simply a feast for the eyes. Culinary, Felix cooks at a high Level. His well-balanced dishes are professionally served by proud and motivated staff. Accompanied by the evening we were by the charming Lucia. Her courteous and friendly manner as well as her hosting abilities fulfilled every wish. All these people are united as a strong team, creating an atmosphere that invites you to linger and enjoy. Lucia and Felix are great examples for staff management in the hospitality industry. This is immediately noticeable as a guest. It will definitely not have been my last visit to the Seeds. Kind regards Urs Auchter Working for development aid as Swiss Master Chef in Yangon."
