Glenburn Tea Estate: "10 Person Photo Group from the USA"

"Some of the reviews are missing the point. If you want to spend your time whining about the road, then don't go. On the other hand, if you think of each destination as an adventure and you want to experience a wonderful property having only eight rooms, with great food and warm hospitality, then go to Glen Burn. You will not be disappointed! Even though the tea factory was idle, it was still an interesting tour through the plant to see the equipment and to listen to the story of Glen Burn Walking the nearby villages with a Glen Burn guide was perfect! So many fantastic shots!!Because of a previous trip to Glen Burn, our I-Phone teacher (Karen Divine) said it was an absolute must destination being so close to Darjeeling. Joannie32: "Wonderfully Relaxing"

My sister and I stayed in Maisons Wat Kor for 3 days in early November. It is a beautiful and tranquil hotel set in a charming village, a short tuk tuk ride away from Battambang. The hotel is an oasis of peace and calm with spacious clean rooms, delicious food and a saltwater pool which was very much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel organised trips on the Bamboo train as well as to the Phare Circus, both of which we would highly recommend. All of the staff were wonderful but we would like to say a big thank you to Mr Phadkey who made every effort to ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Very highly recommended!

Maison Polanka: "Wonderful place to stay"

We stayed at Polanka in early April and it was wonderful. All of us (2 adults, 2 boys 11 & 15) loved it. Julie & Kathy helped us arrange everything (guides, tickets to the Circus, cooking lessons) and had great suggestions for shopping & places to eat. The property is an oasis of calm; the food is fantastic (the chef who gave my son & I our cooking lesson is marvelous); and the swimming pool is the perfect antidote to hours of walking through the temples. The owners of the hotel are long-time supporters of local artists and the entire property shows a deep connection to the local community. We can't wait to go back.

Maison Polanka: "Luxurious and subtle"

Maison Polanka has the kind of subtle elegance that never intrudes. It is beautiful, the rooms and grounds. It is intimate and yet private. You are totally taken care of in an unobtrusive way. And the food is excellent, some of the best we had in Southeast Asia. That said it seems excessive to say that the herbal massage I had (I had a chest cold) was an amazing experience. I reserved months in advance and it was totally worth it.

Amata Lanna: "Excellent in every aspect!"

Stayed here for 4 times, really had great time. The room was clean, adequate and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly, and informative on places to go. The location was great and easily accessible by all means.

Inle Princess Resort: "Wonderfully relaxing"

We felt at home as soon as we arrived at this lovely resort. We had a lake view chalet close to the boat dock but there was no noise disturbance as boats are not allowed to use power engines when approaching the resort. The room was spacious and had everything that we needed. We loved sitting out on the verandah and taking in the lovely views. The resort handicraft centre is great if you want to try your hand at pottery, Shan paper making, weaving or a range of other handicrafts. The food is very good and the service excellent.

David’s Kitchen: "CHIANG MAI HIDDEN GEM"

Where to even begin? The atmosphere is very calming, beautiful and serene. David, the owner, personally comes to your table to talk with you about the food, your travels and your life. David is an amazing individual who runs an excellent restaurant with an amazing staff. The service and food is amazing, the best Chiang Mai has to offer, as well as their family-like waiters and waitresses. David took us to meet the chef because we were so impressed with our meal. Top quality ingredients, service and presentation. A little pricey (in Thai standards not US OR UK) but EXTREMELY WORTH IT! If you're even contemplating coming here when you're in Chiang Mai, Do it! You will not be disappointed in any aspect! 5 stars. A truly unique place.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing"

"I can't say enough about this hotel! We booked at 4 Rivers on the recommendation of some friends who had visited the area and had seen the hotel from a far. It really is a one of a kind experience. Here are the highlights: - The food was gourmet (and we are food snobs...), including the lunches packed for day excursions. There is also good wine list. - The staff were all incredibly courteous and went out of their way to ensure everyone was having a good time. Adonis, the manager, really seems to have pulled together a great team. - Our lead guide Rambo (his nickname!) gave good advice on the tours and made the days very fun. Definitely take the trip to the waterfall, and try the sunset cruise too. - The pre-dinner firefly viewing was very cool - The tents themselves are really special. They are very spacious, and the fans in the room kept the temperature just right for sleeping. Having a ladder right of the deck made swimming super easy and we were in and out of the water all the time. - Watching the sky change colours every night was an activity unto itself. - The lodge arranged our transportation to/from, and it was very professional and reasonably priced. Overall I would say it was excellent value for the money. We were there for 3 nights and i would say that was the perfect amount of time. Definitely stay there if you have a chance!"

Manukan Island Resort: "Wow"

Spent 3 days, 2 nights here. Started with a lovely greeting by very friendly staff. Great room with water views. Large room, good bathroom and nice verandah to sit on and watch the world go by. Try the walk up to sunset point - was cloudy when I went, but still nice. Food in restaurant is nice, dearer than mainland but still cheap compared to home. Good buffet breakfast. Lots of people on the island during the day with locals coming over, but they all leave late afternoon then it's all yours. Very relaxing, peaceful few days. Went on snorkeling trip to nearby islands from here too. Great. Would love to come back here.

Tugu Lombok: "A slice of tropical paradise"

"In a 3-week adventure around Bali and Lombok, the Tugu Lombok was our absolute favourite place that we stayed, hands down. The resort is stunning, the grounds are impeccable, the rooms are extraordinarily beautiful. The beach is white sand and turquoise waters. Every meal we ate (in both restaurants) was absolutely delicious. The breakfast spread is fantastic (with a particularly amazing fruit plate) and the assortment of snorkelling equipment, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards is a great way to pass afternoons on the water. Things are laid out so that you never feel crowded. But by far the best thing about Tugu Lombok is the staff. Everyone, from Sharon, the GM, and Henry, her right hand man, to the spectacular restaurant staff, spa team, housekeeping staff, and security, were the epitome of hospitality. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and polite, and everything they do is heartfelt and done with a smile. They anticipated our every need before we even expressed them and made us feel enormously welcome during our entire stay. We can't recommend this spot enough to anyone travelling to Lombok (and even if you're not, you might want to change your plans to include the Tugu). One small note on rooms - we had read through previous TripAdvisor reviews and decided to take the overwhelmingly consistent advice to splurge on a Bhagavat Gita suite and we were completely blown away by the beauty and design of these extraordinary villas.
