Manda De Laos: "The mother off them all"
"Manda means mother in Lao. And Manda de Laos beats all (so called) fancy restaurants in LP. The scenery is romantic and beautiful. Then the service, so friendly and easygoing. I love the effort every staff member takes to please you. Oh yeah, and there was food as well. We had the Manda de Laos menu (3 courses with a lot of different dishes) to have a flight through the menu. From the first to the last bite I can say that we've enjoyed every bit! Don't complain it's expensive or something in that range. You made the choice to eat here so you know the prices. If not make sure you're well informed. To give you a heads up we've paid 965.000 kip/$118,- for the menu and two cocktails. Which is comparable to European prices. If you're up for a romantic evening (or lunch) with your significant other this is the place to be in LP."Cuca: "Loved it"
We visited Cuca as part of the Bali Food Safari tour for dessert and we loved it here! Each dish was divine, so fresh, colourful and delicately put together. The service was fantastic too. A must visit for anyone who loves delicious food!VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Wonderful! Keep Up The Great Work"
"Stunning boutique property in district 2 of the city yet feels and looks like you are far more rural. We stayed here twice and were given a very warm and typical Vietnamese welcome each time. Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive. All seemed to have a very genuine interest in how we were and what we had done each day. Great sized lovely pool for the number of guests accommodated, chilled to exactly the right temperature! To the rear of the hotel is a beautiful garden, bar and indoor/outdoor restaurant overlooking the river and across to the fields. Chilled music adds to the very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out by the river with a drink (or two) each evening! An excellent menu and wine list provide great choice and all of the food was beautifully presented and absolutely superb. The hotels speed boat provides a courtesy shuttle service between the hotel and centre of the city in just 15 minutes, far quicker than going by road! Exceptional service from a clearly dedicated, highly trained and competent team. Nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return soon... "Maisons Wat Kor: "Heaven hidden outside of the town for discerned traveller"
A hidden hotel with a beautiful pound and an amazing local architecture. What make this hotel different are the number of rooms, only very few rooms - each bungalow has 4 rooms , they all looks the same and could be the set for a movie. Rooms are large and nice bathroom. The life of the hotel is around the pound and the kitchen. You will feel more in somebody house rather than an hotel here. The hotel is few minutes away from the town, but the tuktuk will take you there through a small village.Villa Song Saigon: "It’s a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 hotel indeed!"
We are glad that we picked this hotel for our first visit of Vietnam. A group of 10 love this hotel at the first sight we arrived. The team is so well trained and competent. Every hotel staff of frontdesk, restaurant, and also hotel manager are so helpful in arranging recommended restaurants, spa, shopping area, and transportation to make our first stay of Ho Chi Minh City wonderful! Hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Each with unique design. The swimming pool open 24/7 and so we can have our mid-night gathering there! Breakfast menu is awesome. Love the special care from the team again. We would highly recommend this hotel to every one going to Ho Chi Minh City!Heritage Suites: "Wonderful stay"
Our trip started off in style with the airport pickup in the old Mercedes. The staff were welcoming from the start with cold towels, water, and a welcome cocktail when we arrived. They weren't full during our stay so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Bungalow Suite. It was a very nice room and we'd happily pay for the extra charge to have this suite again. We liked that the hotel is a more intimate size than much of what you see around Siem Reap and that it was part of its neighborhood. They let us know when we arrived that there was a festival going on and we might hear monks chanting early in the morning from the temple nearby. When waking up before sunrise to head to the temples one morning we heard the very beautiful chanting, apparently they had started at 4 AM but we didn't hear them at all from our room. We had breakfast at the hotel daily which we enjoyed very much, but didn't try the restaurant at other times as we were out exploring Siem Reap. We booked a guide to visit temples and the Tonle Sap via their companion company Heritage Adventures who we would highly recommend. A great visit and we hope to be back again soon!Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Walk into amazing history! Most excelent"
"Most amazing history and architecture; a truly east meets west in a unique blend that worked in C19th and is a place which has a feeling that has to be experienced to be believed. The current owners restored this place with meticulous detail to the most miniscule of reproduced effects, having to seek out craftsmen to work with a lost art. External feature details are fashioned from broken and shaped especially fired porcelain bowls. Colourfast beauty that will last potentially for centuries. The world should thank people with this level of vision to preserve such magnificent history. The history of the original owner, Cheong Fatt Tze is as fascinating as the building itself. We had the great privilege to meet and talk with owner, architect and one of the visionaries behind the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion renovation which won the UNESCO Most Excellent Project, Lin Lee Loh-Lim. Passion personified! Check when Lin Lee Loh-Lim is conducting tours. Having stayed for several nights I can say the place and the staff are the most amazing I have ever encountered. Oh that we should all take so much pride in our work and enjoy it so much. The Restaurant with French fusion dishes is great value for money and excellent quality. This one liner is a total understatement. Yes I'm besotted with the Blue Mansion, its has been one of those experiences I will treasure and talk about for the rest of my life! Something I must say is that some of the surrounding property owners appear to have little respect for what the Blue Mansion represents and the leadership that properties of this calibre offer the future of Georgetown and Penang as a world class destination. I can only hope that the Penang City Council and Chamber of Commerce can work with all accommodation providers and landowners in the area to put sustainable noise abatement in place to enhance the experience and vision that has been so delightfully preserved in the Blue Mansion and the surrounding area. I'll be back to experience the charming ambiance of the Blue Mansion in the future. I wish the owners and staff every continuing success."Satri House: "elegant and family friendly"
we stayed as 2 parents, 2 children and a grandparent. We were conveniently given 2 adjoining rooms, both gorgeous and spacious. Satri house is larger than expected and very pretty, I kept getting lost on the way to breakfast! The 2 swimming pools were fantastic and refreshing. The staff were all very friendly, even when we were struggling to communicate! Julie and Gianni are very helpful and kind. My husband loved their Lao whiskey! One morning we got up at 4.30am to see the morning alms. However we found there were monks just in front of the hotel which was very beautiful to see. Our kids treasure the little Hill tribe dolls they were each given as we sadly departed. Although it is not right in the heart of Luang Prabang, it was an easy walk and easier tuk tuk away. Highly recommended! The Hue House: "The best Hue food in HCMC"
The location is a bit hidden on top of office building on roof top. You will need to take the office lift to 10th floor. It is a bit hot in the afternooon, although they have fan there. Perfect for dinner. The food is super good. I love the bun bo hue.. the best I ever tasted. I came here twice this week. The place is still quiet, but I suspect won't be for long when the secret is out. The only area of improvement is to have better desert menu, especially sweet desert from central region.Satri House: "Perfect in every way"
"Spent 4 days here exploring the lovely city of Luang Prabang. After a hectic 2 weeks in Vietnam this was a welcome oasis. From the moment you enter the property you feel a world away from the noise outside. Close by there is a temple so you can hear the soft chanting off and on throughout the day. The staff are attentive and helpful, the pool is lovely and the breakfast was excellent and the rooms gorgeous and comfortable. A 10 minute walk to the night market and chaos of downtown. We were lucky to be there for the beautiful full moon and end of lent celebration. What a sensory treat. We highly recommend!!"
