"I probably can’t add anything to the glowing reviews but Locavore is fantastic! Generous, friendly, incredible food. Yep, it’s super expensive for Bali but it’s world class and the chefs create magic with local ingredients, herbs and leaves that are a taste sensation. We made friends with our neighbours who, like us, were giddy with happiness at the deliciousness of it all. I simply cannot fault this hotel. The room was enormous, the most comfortable bed ever, lovely bathroom. Food was faultless - breakfast healthy, any time, perfect; dinner delicious, lots of choice, great service. Great cocktails, wine, beer - anytime, anywhere. Beach - white sand, beautiful view, sun beds wherever you want, endless towels. Lovely swimming pools with soft warm water. Staff are amazing, friendly, full of good advice and nothing is too much trouble but no one is intrusive. This is the perfect, peaceful retreat when you need to de-stress, relax and recharge. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here and were thoroughly spoilt. Would definitely recommend visiting Gili Meno for a day.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Very enjoyable stay"
We stayed here as we were wanting to stay somewhere environmentally aware & we were very happy with the camp etc. The meals we're fantastic, the chef was really to be commended he did a fabulous job. The one observation I would make is that the safaris are focused on finding leopards as you would expect, so if you are interested in viewing other animals speak up. "We didn't stay at this hotel. We walked in off the street and were completely drawn in by the decor. It's gorgeous! We walked around, saw the store downstairs, the beautiful swimming pool and grounds, walked around every floor and saw the amazing views. There were lovely air-conditioned rooms with individuals working at their computers so I think this would be a great place for folks with computer work to do. We were told there was a free performance with dinner so we stayed. The performance was 3 different dances with men playing gongs and the gamelan. It was a wonderful evening in a fabulous space. We met an Australian couple who were staying there and chatted with them for a while. They said the rooms were wonderful too. Also a great place to stay or for a special evening for couples. Slow Gili Air is a true blissful place. From check-in tot check-out, the staff makes sure you have everything you need for a pleasant stay without interrupting your privacy. The villas are spacious, with a kitchen, and a huge private garden, but the best part is the private pool and the outdoor bathroom! From the resort it's just a short walk to the beaches in the west and north of the island, and the staff gave us a handy map to explore Gili Air. Slow has bicycles for rent, though the quality of those aren't that great. But since Gili Air has many sandy paths and it's a pretty small island, you won't be needing a bicycle anyway. All in all, Slow is highly recommended and we'd love to come back.Samanea Beach Resort: "Relaxing"
"Pros: - Spacious, traditional-style villas with large bathrooms complete with outdoor showers and hot tubs - Very peaceful, lush landscaped grounds with stunning views over the Bay of Thailand and Bokor Mountain - Extremely friendly, helpful and attentive staff - Sea View restaurant menu is focused but of great quality, and the unlimited a la carte breakfast is a delightful start to the day - Lounges and huts overlooking the pool & sea are quiet and comfortable Cons - The private beach is man-made and the sea water is very shallow and not suitable for swimming - Our Junior Suite Villa front doors didn’t completely close shut Considerations: - The resort is located between a mangrove which can heighten the alert for mosquitoes - The centre of Kep is a 5 minute tuk tuk ride away Bottom Line: The Samanea Beach Resort makes for a very pleasant stay in Kep and is a great choice for its views, excellent staff and reasonable room rates for the area"The Island Lodge: "A charming adress in Mekong"
After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be ! We left by boat to Cai be and the lodge had organized a nice pack lunch on the boat....what a pleasure !
