Rahai’i Pangun: "Great crew"
"This was my first time traveling alone, and I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived for this portion. But I absolutely loved it. The crew was great, the guide Tri was fantastic, and the trip itself was so relaxing and interesting. We saw many orangutans in the forest (including a baby!), visited Dayak villages, and had delicious meals three times a day- and that's coming from someone who considers herself a picky eater. I absolutely recommend this tour group (and especially the boat and staff I had). I'd also suggest you go while you can- you could see gold prospecting in quite a few spots. In order for them to get at the gold, they need to burn the forest down. It also leaves large mounds of white sand along the river. It's very sad, but perhaps with an up-tick in tourism, there will be a greater push for putting a stop to this? I'd like to add while it was disturbing to see, it did not make the trip less enjoyable. Rather, it just makes me want to get more involved."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Invitation to a Country House"
"Understated elegance, unobtrusive service and superb comfort food using the best of local produce with a focus on the hill cuisines of north east India sums up the Glenburn experience. Glenburn effortlessly creates the ambience of a country house weekend, with the guests mingling easily over evening drinks followed by a communal dinner around a cosy dining table with the conversation flowing easily. I asked Holly (who along with Jemima manages this gem of a hotel with easy efficiency) whether they choose their guests and she replied that the guests choose themselves! This small eight suite boutique hotel near Darjeeling sits on a beautiful site overlooking Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. The suites are cosy and luxurious recreating the life style of the tea planters in their glory days. The estate, a working plantation, continues to produce the best of Darjeeling tea, and I would recommend even the hardiest of coffee drinkers ( I am one as well ) to forgo it while they are here and focus on imbibing some of the exquisite tea's produced by the estate. There are probably places where there may be better cuisine (though I would doubt it), more luxurious digs (I have yet to see them) and maybe a location better than this little piece of heaven; but it is really how everything, including the guests, comes together which makes Glenburn truly special. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"The Island Lodge: "Mekong trip or Saigon escape? This is your place"
"When you arrive on the small road you may wonder if you got lost, in fact you just found a secret gem! Beautiful surroundings (pool and river on one side, gorgeous garden on the other side) Tasteful design and decoration everywhere around Lovely and helpful team Nice mix of Vietnamese and French food Large choice of activities/tours to visit the area by boat, bike or scooter. We will definitely be back for the Mekong and for the Hotel!"Mathis Retreat: "Magique , incontournable , le bonheur assuré"
"Dès votre arrivée , la magie s'opère. Le cadre est sublime en plein milieu des rizières. Magnifiques chambres , un vrai havre de paix. We loved it here, our favourite hotel in Cambodia. We stayed in a Junior Suite only for two nights but it was bliss. So quiet and relaxing. Our room was huge and I loved the outside bathroom. We were given many options for breakfast and all were excellent. We only ate one night at the restaurant on site and it was the best meal we had on our trip. The pool was divine and for a lot of the time we were the only ones in it. There were only two things I would suggest to the hotel. One is newer thicker bath towels, another is a top sheet for the bed as the duvet was a little warm. We had no mosquito issues in our room at all. Staying here ticked all the boxes for a wonderful restful break in touring and I would happily return, next time for longer.Tugu Lombok: "Urlaub"
"Das Tugu Hotel ist ein Traum und ganz besonders für einen romantischen Urlaub zu empfehlen .In diesem Hotel stimmt alles!! Jeder Wunsch wird einem von den Augen abgelesen! Man fühlt sich wie in einer geborgen Familie, da es ein kleines ganz besonders liebevoll gepflegtes Hotel ist. Das Frühstück sensationell! Allerdings sehr einsam und abgelegen. Für Ruhesuchende Personen das perfekte Hotel. Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"Chakrabongse Villas: "Stay in a prince’s palace"
This was built in the 19th century by a Thai prince. It's on a busy street and right next to the river. Once you get behind the gates, it's your own private palace. Pool, garden, decks overlooking the river. I think there are only about 9 rooms. It's pricey, but worth it. Our dinner was about a 7-course meal (prix-fixe), each one a delicacy. Took off my shoes at the gate and wandered around the rooms and gardens for all three days we were there.Tugu Malang: "Just love it"
"I stayed here before as tourist, this time for business. Both times were great! The atmosphere is magic, the restaurant is outstanding, the staff unbeatable. Rooms very authentic and comfortable. The old time odor and grandeur is all over the place, like it! They have a nice pool as well in case you travel with kids."Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Good food, clean, comfortable and tranquil"
Spa water fills the hot water tubs, in which you can relax before supper. The setting is by a stunning river, with farmers working the fields. The food was of a high standard. The rooms large and comfortable. Ours had a veranda overlooking the spa pools by the river in which the local villagers come to bathe. Very polite and attentive staff. It is worth doing the day trip to see the local hill villages. They have few western visitors and are fascinating and friendly.Slow Villas and Spa: "Fantastic Slow"
"No doubt they are the “#1 of 148 Specialty Lodging in Gili Air” here. Everything & everyone was great. You got to try it out yourself to feel that kind of amazing experience that everyone here were talking about. Thank you Slow Team for the fantastic stay."
