Mie Cafe: "Great Authentic Cambodian Food"

We recently ate here and had some very well prepared authentic khmer cusine for an extremely reasonable price. The fish amok and chicken amok were wonderfully prepared as was the pork mixed with eggplant and not overly spicy beef curry. Nice atmosphere and good service.

The Village House: "Love at first sight"

Hidden gem in Damai, it was my 2nd stay in this hotel. I like the environment and it was super cozy, A super awesome gateway. We spent our time chilled by the pool and it was so relaxing. The room was a bit dusty and cleanliness is average.

Chakrabongse Villas: "Perfect oasis in Bangkok"

"I had a wonderful time staying at Chakrabongse Villas. I had hoped for a leafy enclave to get away from the bustle and pollution of Bangkok whilst still being well located to explore the city. It was that and much more. The private complex has an interesting history, and the setting gives views of the Grand Palace right across from its own section of the river bank. There is a traditional longboat and speedboat available for guests' use, whilst the Garden suite is well equipped with a very comfortable bed, and incense burning outside! The staff, however, made the trip for me. They were charming and friendly and made me feel completely looked after. I very much hope to return - thank you again to the team at Chakrabongse Villas."

Atmosphere is cosy and warm. Chef welcomes the guest. The food is great modern cuisine with touches of classic. Service is very good. Price is very ok for the value. Strongly recommend!

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Most amazing place I’ve ever been"

"The sea dance hotel was just the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. I spent months searching for a decent hotel for our holiday and when I found this place and spoke to the manager I thought it must be too good to be true. From being greeted at the airport for our included airport transfer to the hotel I felt Instantly at ease. We were brought to the reception area and were given welcome drinks and cool towels which was just lovely after the long, hot journey we'd had. The resort is something you wouldn't expect it has a lot of growth around every bungalow. Bamboo and bushes making each bungalow private. It is all just so natural. They even grow their own vegetables! We were shown to our room, given a tour around it and then a quick tour around the important places of the resort. The room itself was just magnificent, so clean, smelled so fresh and fresh flowers on the bed, in the bathroom and on the dressing table. It was all just so breathtaking. Our bungalow looked out onto the restaurant and if laying in bed you could just see the sea. Our bungalow had a plunge pool which was perfect as the heat was unbearable for me as I'm a bit of a wimpy English lass, but the pool did really help a great deal. The restaurant. The food. The pool. The cocktails. I could go on but they were all just so amazing. We ate there a few evenings it is quite expensive, but it is worth the expense. The food is just out of this world, the owner poy recommended a few dishes for us and I have never eaten anything quite like it. The breakfast also is just lovely, we stayed for 10 nights and sure yes I was craving chocolate pancakes, I asked and they made them for me, so accommodating and will do what they can. Cocktails at happy hour are just the best and such good value for money however I would pay for them full price as they were just delicious and they always came with a lovely chat, smile and good company from the staff or people around the bar. The beach around the hotel is pretty jaggy on your feet. I found that out the hard way! But it's beautiful to sit on the loungers on the beach with a cocktail watching the waves, lightning and sunset. It's a beautiful little area with such beautiful views and very quiet. They also let you lend their kayaks which we did a few days and rowed our way out and along the sea a few times. Such fun! The resort is a little way out of town. It is about a 45 min walk to chaweng, 20 min to chongmon. Taxis are about 300/400bht. But if you catch a zongtou (I think that's it, bit like a tuktuk) you can get places pretty cheap 60/100bht for 2. However the best way to get around would be to hire a scooter from just outside the hotel. 200/250bht for 24hrs. When we go back we will hire for the week. This place is a family run place. From the moment me and my partner stepped into the car at the airport to the moment we left We felt like part of their family. We were invited to a night out with the owner, his sister and a few others on our first night which was just amazing! They are such wonderful people and it really does reflect on the experience we had because they defiantly made it the perfect holiday but in a non overpowering way. They knew the right amount of conversation to have with you and when you just wanted to have some time alone. I miss this places every day and writing this makes me sad as I want to be back so badly! If you go here you will love every minute. Me and my partner are 25/26 and it was honestly the best experience of our life to date. ❤️❤️ Stayed October 2016, traveled as a couple"

Fine food, delicate flavours, perfect preparation, beautiful presentation, impeccable service. We had 5 courses with matched alcohol (note not wine but you could have wine if preferred). A must for those who love fine food.

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Understated, Charming, Comfortable and Friendly Team Members"

"Although the weather throughout our stay was not kind to us, it did not dampened our spirits to have some time out and relax in the resort. We stayed in a two bed room villa and a sea facing villa, each with its own plunge pool. My family was picked up by the hotel team at the airport straight to the resort, a service provided if you book direct. The drive was less than 15 minutes away. Upon reaching the hotel, we drived on a gravel road. Our room are very spacious, clean and comfortable. The gardens are beautifully maintained and there is a herbs and vegetables plot which the kitchen uses it in their menu extensively. The housekeeping team clean the room daily and they do a wonderful job. They also enter the room only when you are away from the room. Our plunge pool are cleaned early in the morning each day. All around the resort ground, wifi is provided, but signals may be weak at certain spots. In my opinion, if you are on a truly switch off vacation, wifi will be your least worry. Otherwise, wifi signal are excellent at the main restaurant; Sea Salt. Our breakfast at Sea Salt Restaurant each morning is simply beautiful and bountiful. The scale of the resort reflects the buffet offerings. One shall not expect a 300 room buffet spread. As a frequent traveller, the breakfast buffet selection is a beautifully balance and nutritious meal to start the day. The fruits are beautifully sliced, and every day, there is a juice of the day made from local fruit of choice. There is an egg station with all the condiments and accompaniments cook to order. The hot section consist Asian staple such as congee, noodles, dim-sum and steamed bun. Bacon and sausages are also offered with waffles and pancakes too! In addition, pastries and bakery, cereals, yoghurt, selection of jams, peanut butter and honey. Tea are individually brewed, and coffee whether you prefer a regular brew, espresso or latte, both are excellent, fresh, strong and bold. Coffee and espresso is my morning ritual, you will be surprised by their selection and beans choice. Sea Salt Restaurant overlooks the beach, ocean and swimming pool, even though it was rainy on all the mornings I was there, the interaction I had with the team, the ambience, the flowers, sound of rain drops, all made it a memorable experience. The team members make the effort to check on you without overdoing it. There are good selection of books to randomly read for a lazy day, you are free to hang out, nap, sleep at the comfortable lounge chairs and benches in Sea Salt. My family and I had dinner in Sea Salt Restaurant two nights in a row. It was not because of the rain, but truly the food served in the restaurant ticks all the right boxes. Small scale restaurant but big on flavors, big on eyes(presentation), explosive flavors from Thai herbs. The culinary team deserves a great compliment. At first looking at the menu, the repertoire is international and also Thai-centric. Usually, I am quite reserve and hesitant with ambitious menu like this. Then again, after dining extensively and selecting a wide range of the offering, I am pleased to say that the culinary team are well experience and passionate with their food. There is a wine cellar with an interesting selection of wines from both new and old world. The cocktails! Oh my, very very surprising! My brothers and I enjoyed the cocktails selection. Each cocktails tried was strong, bold, classic and inventive and beautifully presented. Well done to the Bartender. I have to say my stay at Sea Dance was excellent despite the rainy weather. The villa and gardens are well maintained. I was completely relaxad and rejuvenated. The food and beverage offering are honestly excellent. Finally the ultimate difference of any hotel or resort, small or big, are the staff. The staff at Sea Damce are approachable, respectful, charming, friendly and always goes all the way out to assist my family and me. Never mind the language barrier, the effort and genuine effort shines through. The Sea Dance is a resort in the making a little over 2 years, approaching 3 now. If you willing to step away from your usual global chain hotels and off-the-beaten-path sort of holiday, you will not be dissapointed. Thank you Sea Dance Resort and Team. Heard about this place from friends n social media so decided to give it a try. Wow! Love love love. From the moment we walked in until we walked out, the experience was memorable. Food was excellent n service was top notch. Only setback is the distance. Truly a culinary gem.

Bali Jiwa Villa: "Bali’s best kept secret"

"Bali Jiwa Villa, located in the Ubud district is a hidden gem. Situated in the small village of Desa Kelusa on the outskirts of Ubud, it is set among beautiful rice fields in total privacy. It is a little hard to find, however this is what makes it an unique getaway for a couple looking for a romantic retreat or just a place far away from the usual crowds. There are two separate villas that are mirror images of each other, both with the same wonderful view, yet both completely separate and private. The room is colorful and tastefully decorated with one huge bed in the middle and comfy seats all around. The bathroom is large and modern and very well appointed. Each villa has it’s own pool that sits overlooking the rice paddies, but still offers privacy as it sits up above the rice fields. You can see people working in the fields sometimes, which gives you an unique feeling of being part of the village life that goes by each day. Bali Jiwa Villa has to be one of Ubud’s best kept secrets for those people who want to discover somewhere quite unique and special and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to experience the true Balinese countryside. "We could have not chosen a better place to celebrate our special anniversary. We were spoilt from the moment we arrive until the very sad moment we left. All staff without exception went out of their wat to make us feel like royalty and gracious care. Everything about Tugu Lombok was magical. We felt both at home and in an island paradise at the same time. Would love to go back to this magical island and Tugu as our home.."
