The Village House: "Relaxing romantic retreat"

Review by: Adeline P | Source: Trip Advisor
"My boyfriend and I drove down to this getaway after an afternoons walk around Bako park. We found this place through agoda and thought we should give it a shot. Fair warning, the place is very hidden and it does not look like much from the outside. There is no sign at the gate, but since it was google-able, we called the hotel straightaway to get clarifications on the place. Sure enough we found the place! When we arrived, we thought maybe we would be the only ones there, because of how isolated it was... but come dinner time, a few other couples came out of their rooms.. dinner was delicious The staff was polite and kind. However I must commend the service and kindness they gave. We checked out and left for kuching city and had forgotten my shoes behind. One of the staff offered to bring them to town as he was going to the main office. I was sooo thankful for that! Was pretty bummed in the car thinking we had to drive 50mins up to Santubong again and back down to town again. So, thank you very much for bringing my shoes to me! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

The Island Lodge: "Scherer"

Review by: martin05 | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Island Lodge is a marvellous place! An oasis in the middle of a special place almost a junge beside the river. The view is historic, peaceful and really unique. There is nothing to compare with the Island Lodge in the area! The owner Michel and his wife Francoise are exceptional hosts not because of a necessity but because of a natural true passion to receive their guests with warmth and friendliness. It is a really comfortable feeling after traveling down from the chaos and noise of Ho Chi Minh! Breakfast is á la carte, it is slow and easy going just like the Mekong. Dinner is more or less the same. Lots of choice and lots of taste and just so comfortable. One of the best parts of this residence has to be the interior design. Michel did almost everything himself and if he ever gives up the Hotel business he could certainly try his hand at ID!! He has taste and style which is very seldom in a hotel of this size. Usually boutique hotels get a little Kitsch over load. Not here the attention to detail is impressive and highly soothing just before a early afternoon nap! The pool is big and super practical! And make sure you go with Michel on a bike tour. Probably something that will stay with me for ever for all the right reasons! Don't bother looking at any other place if you want to stay a few days in the Delta "

Rahai’i Pangun: "A Major Highlight of my Borneo Adventure!!"

Review by: katblue | Source: Trip Advisor
"I went on a 4 day cruise up the Rungan River with Wow Borneo and had a wonderful time. The staff were outstanding, very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was really healthy and tasty. The boat itself was open, airy and comfortable & I loved sitting on the top deck watching life on the river. My very comfortable double room had a private BR and a small private deck as well as air con/fan to keep cool. It was totally worth the slurge! We were fortunate to see a good variety of orangutans on the various pre-release islands on the Rungan River. It was a real privilege to see these beautiful creatures fairly close up in a natural setting. I feel hopeful that most will be fully released into the wild. Like the reviewer before me suggested, I'd recommend you go soon. There were lots of gold dredges on the river banks & the sad reality is that these small operations use mercury to extract the gold which is released into the river poisoning everything downstream. It makes me sad because this is precious habitat for the local people and of course the orangutans."

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "The most amazing experience"

Review by: HMTW1 | Source: Trip Advisor
"O h my goodness! These people know about customer service! Not only the nicest people running this but really smart too. Knew everything about the wildlife so it was a great learning experience and so interesting. The level of detail they have gone into to make this a truly exceptional experience is unbelievable. The food is probably the best I've had in Sri Lanka and that's saying something! The accommodation is clean and so well designed. We were lucky enough to be staying in the beautiful master bedroom tent which is truly exquisite. Showering under the stars in complete privacy and safety is something I will remember forever. Our two teenage sons found this to be an awesome experience and as we know, teenagers can be a tough crowd to please! Sadly, we didn't see any leopards on either of the two drives but we did see plenty of other interesting wildlife. Others we met had seen some leopards on their drives so we were just unlucky and that can't be helped. None the less it was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka without question."

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Best of both worlds!"

Review by: Alexia D | Source: Trip Advisor
This hotel gives a beautiful break from the fast-pace of most areas in India. This place is simply heavenly. The food is very healthy and prepared perfectly. Try the beetroot with coconut soup and the paratha soup. This hotel also offers the opportunity to sail on The Lotus for a few nights and watch the reflection of the sun and moon dance on the water.

Rahai’i Pangun: "Reece trip on Katingan River & Sebangau National Park"

Review by: lisbet848 | Source: Trip Advisor
I was lucky to be part of this 5 days Reecee trip - a trip that hasn't been done before. It was very very well organised and the many transfers between the lovely Ruhui Rahayu river boat and the small canoes that brought us along the small black water tributaries, all went smooth. Staying in the stilted house on the black water lake, Danau Bulat, was great. It was wonderful to get special food treats from Ruhui Rahayu brought the 1 km into the lake. The highlight of staying in Sebangau National Park at the WWF lodge was great. So was trekking at night to set the photo trap. Sailing further into Sebangau National Park on the Panggu Alas black water river to the lake with the same name was equally exciting. A wonderful trip. Lisbet (Denmark)

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "That deserted beach we all hunger for"

Review by: Paul H | Source: Trip Advisor
"This amazing place is definitely an effort to reach. We organised a car from Surat Thani train station, which was pricey (3000 Baht - ""Cheaper Than Hotel taxi Khao Lak"" -but still undercuts other taxis) but ensured we made it to Khuraburi Pier correctly as options appeared limited. Golden Buddha organised long tail boat to and from resort but at 2000 Baht each way, it's not cheap either. The boat trip is a tour in itself, crossing mangrove swamps and weaving between islands. Due to high tides we had to get a 4x4 across Ko Phra Thong to resort but that just added to experience. Resort consists of many privately owned cabins along a 1Km stretch just back from beach (which is 12Km long and almost completely deserted!). Massi, the Italian manager was simply amazing. Extremely welcoming, engaging, considerate, just brilliant and added to trip. Our cabin, Baan Coco was nice although limited view. Unlimited water, lovely room, invigorating semi-outdoor shower and wildlife galore. Incredibly quiet so don't come if you want bustling night life! Only single option for dinner (aside nice beach pizza bar) so went half board. Food was very nice and predominantly Thai style. Changed menu each night. Thoroughly recommend trekking tour of Ko Ra, the jungle island next door, which was fantastic (prepare to have to swim!). Ultimately wonderful stay at a place that really does feel at the far edge of Thailand!"

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Exceptional safari experience . Don’t think twice"

Review by: Jenny J | Source: Trip Advisor
"The most amazing safari from start to finish. My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this wonderful campsite. Due to the experience of our main guide Dilanka and the team, we saw leopards, elephants, sloth bear, and many beautiful birds. We also met some fantastic people from other countries. The jeeps are really comfortable and looked much better than other companies we saw in the park. The food was exceptional and the facilities around the campsite certainly made this glamping. Our tents were cleaned a few times a day and we got to shower in hot water under the stars at night. Everyone looked after us so well and they are very professional, warm and the nicest people. This was a truly exceptional experience and I would highly recommend it. Thanks to Noel and his team for the amazing safari."

Rachamankha: "Fantastic Stay"

Review by: frank p | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a "late" review, as I lost the name until I found it in my old luggage. We stayed there three nights starting 01/20/2013-01/23/2013, and it was nearly the single most pleasant place we stayed in a three month trip around Thailand and Laos. All rooms face a beautiful central courtyard, and the staff and management are top-notch. The only downside is that the neighborhood outside the walls is a bit rugged, but we had no problems. Highly recommended...don't believe the Dec 2015 stay date...I had to put something....

Villa Song Saigon: "A luxurious and peaceful escape from the bustle of the city"

Review by: Kerry B | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our first two nights in Vietnam were spent at Villa Song. This was the most idyllic way to kickstart our holiday. The location beside the river is specatular. We had the suite on the top floor with the little parlour. Our two girls slept in the parlour which worked perfectly - leaving us in the four poster bed. This is a very romantic, charming hotel - the furnishings and fittings are beautiful. But the key for us was that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The first day we were collected by tour company Les Rives to take us by boat to the Chi Chi Tunnels – this was perfect because they could simply collect us and drop us back at the hotel’s private pier. The restaurant is fabulous – a beautiful al fresco location for dinner and breakfast. "
