Jing’s Residence: "Stunning"
An architectural gem--courtyard privacy and elegant spacious public rooms, with grand comfortable bedrooms, a management and wait staff that are friendly, helpful with great suggestions-- amazing hotel by any standardHeritage Suites Hotel: "Breathtaking Wedding experience – highlight of our whole trip!"
"We stayed here between 17/12/17 - 21/12/17 as a party of seven and had the pleasure of having our wedding day planned and hosted by the brilliant staff at Heritage Suites Hotel. Oma, Nicolas, Teka and each and every member of staff, we can’t thank you enough for the hours of work, meticulous attention to detail, beautiful venue and exceptional level of service we had during our stay. You made our wedding the most memorable, intimate and spectacular day we’ve ever experienced, and it’s something neither we or our guests will ever forget. We won’t bore you with the long story, but basically, we decided to cancel our ‘home wedding’ and elope to the country that we got engaged in two years earlier (best decision ever!). As you would expect, we were quite nervous organising our entire wedding experience via email and Skype, having not seen seen the venue in person. We went back and forth with the team, sharing information and pictures until both sides were confident that we would get the wedding that we wanted. Throughout the entire process, Oma, Nicolas and Teka couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful, answering all of our questions (sorry guys!) until we fully understood each element of our wedding and stay. If you are reading this and thinking of having a wedding ceremony in Cambodia, PLEASE, you should seriously consider using Heritage Suites Hotel as your venue of choice - you won’t regret it. Highlights include: - The quick transformation of the hotel ‘alley’ / atrium into a beautiful walkway & altar was nothing short of astonishing. The whole place had beautiful white decor, flowers (lotus & rose), with an amazingly decorated platform at the end where the ceremony was held. - The organisation of external services was exactly what we wanted. Makeup & hair was great, the photographer / videographer (Oyen Rodriguez & his team - check his stuff out on YouTube!) was phenomenal, amazing buttonholes & bouquets, an extremely charming and well spoken registrar called Mourad (who looks like Hugh Laurie!) to lead the ceremony. - We had the flexibility of tailoring our own ceremony including our own vows, readings and words in a ‘Western style’ and incorporating a Buddhist blessing given by some local monks which we and our guests enjoyed thoroughly. - More food and drink than you could ever want! The men and women enjoyed a light breakfast separately, before canapés & drinks in the lobby after the ceremony , more canapés & champagne during sunset, and a beautifully cooked dinner on the evening. - We couldn’t decide between having tuk-tuks or jeeps… so we had both! Each type of transportation were dressed up for the occasion including flowers, ribbons, signage (our initials) and tassels. - Our transportation took us out to ricefields and other scenic locations for photographs before arriving at a pier on a beautifully still lake (Trav Kot) for sunset canapés and champagne. - Our final destination was the real show stopper. Teka from Heritage Adventures (sister company of Heritage Suites Hotel) worked with us to organise a luxury camping experience and dinner by a remote temple called Banteay Ampil. Our jeeps pulled up and we were greeted by smiling staff who provided us with necklaces and bracelets made from the Jasmine flower. Venturing further into the campsite, we were surrounded by thousands of tealights, relaxing and having welcome cocktails in a ‘chill out’ area (think lots of cushions, throws, low sitting sofas, fire pits). The luxury tents were incredible - better than our house back home! We could go on for hours as the team organised so much more (on this day, and the rest of our time with them). We seriously couldn’t fault anything - each element was provided with 100% effort and the full team delivered everything with a smile. It felt as though they were genuinely happy for us, and enjoyed being part of our wedding experience. No text, pictures or videos could do the whole experience justice, and we feel quite smug that only the seven of us will ever know what it truly felt like during these special couple of days. Aside from our experience from a wedding perspective, the hotel and level of service as a guest was fantastic. The rooms were immaculate, tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant food during breakfast, lunch and dinner was plentiful, tasty and well-priced. We were never left wanting, with staff always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. If anybody would like to speak to us further, feel free to contact Heritage Suites Hotel and ask for Jonathan & Katherine Birch’s contact information) - we’d be more than happy to help! Thanks, Mr & Mrs Birch"Summertime Villa: "Serene getaway for the discerning family"
I was tempted to book 3-4 rooms at a 5 star hotel for our family getaway. Then a good friend of mine suggested that I try Summertime and I am super glad I did. This is probably the best run vacation home in Goa-- the service is excellent, discreet and non-intrusive. The rooms are spacious and furnished with great Balinese...Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Excellent hotel resort"
"It's a long ride up river to Myauk U but worth it. The resort is a welcome sight when you get there. Rooms (or rather villa) are huge, almost a villa, in some interpretation of traditional style. Very relaxing with the lotus ponds. Staff are wonderful. The on-premise restaurant is very good. If you are not an early riser, ask for a room away from the river as the boats are noisy and start early. A few words of advice: Just don't take boxed food to go, or if you do, do not order the prawns."Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Boutique Hotel"
"Stayed here for 4 nights, second floor mountain view. two swimming pools beautiful gardens wonderful FnB... the 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai was magical... like arriving in Shangri La They had two wonderful musicians playing in the lounge when we had our evening cocktails. Such attention to detail in the design. Somebody has paid an awful lot of attention to this resort, I only wish I could have met the manager to thank him in person. No exaggeration to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was fantastic, the cappuccino cinnamon toast was the best in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough Top Tip... grab a beer and head down to the gazebo by the river with your book and just chill out! Don't rely on Google Maps to get you here... it directs to through town to the other side of the river... the hotel is 1km down the street next to the police station"RACHAMANKHA: "Oasis"
"We were fortunate to stay here, albeit during the coldest weather in years! This is a true 5* property with wonderfully gracious staff. The location is perfect for walking to most areas you would want to see while in Chiang Mai. Breakfast is more than most would expect and in the evening the food is very good. "The Village House: "A little piece of paradise"
"As the location is quite far out from Kuching we decided to rent a car from the airport which made more sense and was cheaper then taxi's/organised trips. It was a little hard to find when you arrive as the place has no signs. However the location on google maps is correct it just does not look like it. The whole place is stunning. The pool is great, staff are friendly, well decorated, rooms are lovely and the food was delightful. We had the 7 course tasting menu which is expensive for Kuching but the flavours were delicious. They laid the table beautifully with flower petals and it was a really nice way to spend the evening with my partner. They have a selection of wines too. It is nice to stay somewhere which is in a local village and off the tourist trail. They have clearly thought about the place and we could not fault it. The beach is nice to see but the water is dirty and there is not really anywhere to walk too. We only stayed 2 nights and one day we drove to Bako and the other we stayed around the pool. We then stayed two nights in Kuching to be closer to the Orangutans which we visited twice. A must stay place if you are in Kuching and want to get away from the city."Villa Song Saigon: "Sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle"
My sister and I ducked over from Singapore for two full days.We were always treated like we were the only ones there. In fact we were the only ones on the motel speedboat on both days in and out of the city at the times we requested to leave and get picked up,maybe busier in the high season. We felt we got to feel the entire vibe of Ho Chi Minh City between the taxi from the airport, the boat into town and nearly two full days just walking(without getting run over) around. The pool is great and the day spa compared to Aud standards was more than affordable .It may not be the cheapest accomodation in town but treat yourselfMaison Polanka: "Stay here for wonderful personal service. Deserving of a 7/5 rating not merely 5/5"
"I will start with the summary: tranquil garden, great room, excellent F+B, attention to detail, but the wonderful staff is what made our stay in Siem Reap a truly memorable one (in addition to the the magnificent ruins, of course). The small touches such the chilled towels in the car and upon our return to Maison after each of our trips were truly appreciated. They provided a mobile phone with Maison's number preloaded in directory, another thoughtful and helpful detail. We found the staff not merely polite and helpful but genuinely concerned about our well-being. Maison arranged tuk-tuk rides for our trips into the center of town and the drivers were courteous. Our car/van driver was friendly and informative on the ride back to the airport, making us feel welcome in Cambodia even as we were about to depart. We cannot remember all the names of all who took care of us but special thanks to to Kathy and Sorpana (?) at reception for all their attention to us. Of course, we cannot say enough about Francis. From the initial email exchanges to our actual stay he remained on top of everything. We appreciated his meeting us at the airport on our late night arrival, something we did not expect. Initially I had considered one of the larger hotels but chose to look for a boutique hotel instead. I chose Maison based on both excellent reviews and the compelling back story as told on the hotel webpage. Several email communications with Francis were promptly answered; he readily addressed concerns about airport transfers (a hotel van is available; recommended as tuk-tuks and taxis may not know the hotel or its location) transport to the town center (tuk-tuks that the hotel apparently has an arrangement with and will wait for you at your destination in town). Maison Polanka is located on the east side of the Siem Reap river in a quiet secluded neighborhood (the nearby Po Lang Ka pagoda is what presumably gave name to the road and hotel), about 9km away from the airport and 2.5km from the markets in downtown Siem Reap. The Angkor National Museum is the closest site of interest within very easy walking distance less than 1km from Maison. Of course, Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom are much further away 6.5km and 11km respectively. We rode the hotel van for our tour of the temples and took tuk-tuks to town. The hotel grounds are meticulously maintained, heavily wooded and thus shaded. There were flowering plants everywhere including orchids and butterflies were flitting around from bloom to bloom. There were just a few rooms. The largest accommodation was the Khmer House, a stand-alone building. We had booked the the Yellow Room in the ""Maison"" which also housed the Green, Orange, and Purple Rooms. Francis told us that Maison could accommodate at most 15 guests and that the entire hotel has been booked in the past for family reunions. Check-in was smooth; we had the first of many culled and scented wet face towels to freshen us up. We were also given glasses of chilled fruit juice while we waited to complete check-in. We were then led to the Maison building and askedo leave our shoes at the bottom of the stairs. The Yellow Room lived up to what the hotel website promised, as did the entire property. The decor was rustic with sophisticated touches. A small plate of sliced fresh fruit had been left on the desk for us to enjoy. The amenities were as listed on their website. The bathroom was actually on a higher level with a short flight of stairs curving up from the far corner of the room. We had no issues with the stairs but it could get wet and slippery. Having traveled with my elderly parents I have become more acutely aware of the need for secure handholds; a single handrail at the corner where the stairs make a left turn on the way up would a world of difference. The bathroom was spacious. The shower stall was large and even had a small tile bench along the wall. I do not recall how textured the floor tiles were but I did not see a rubberized bath mat with suction cups that other hotels sometimes offer. Again, a small handrail at the level of the threshold of the shower would help steady anyone stepping out of the shower. Not that the the edge of the shower was raised very high, just a couple of inches perhaps. The bed was comfortable and we slept well on both the nights during our stay. There was a narrow balcony that we never ventured out on. We had our meals at the ""Sala"", the open-sided communal area by the pool that served as lobby, living room and dining room. What I had initially thought was the reception desk turned out to do double duty as a bar. There was an adjacent area with couches and armchairs clearly meant as a lounging area for those not interested in relaxing by the pool. As one might expect for a kitchen serving such a small number of guests the menu was not extensive but our meals were well-prepared and delicious. The young ladies serving us were attentive but not hovering over us. We had our not had dinner by the time of our late arrival but I had made arrangements with Francis beforehand and, once we had freshened up, dinner was quickly prepared for us. Should our travels ever take us back to Siem Reap we will definitely be staying at Maison Polanka again."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Perfect date night restaurant"
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. The owners are Swiss and the cheese plate was as good as any I have had in Europe. The beef tenderloin was great. They kept bringing interesting amuse bouches to us. The setting was lovely and the servers were very attentive. Great wine collection too.
