Muang La Resort: "Hidden Gem"
After a dreadful drive from Luang Prabang we arrive at the Muang La Resort. This is a delightful place situated next to the Nam Phak river with wonderful views from the rooms. They even have two goats and a wonderful hot spring fed hot tub. Food and drinks are excellent. Well worth a visitGlenburn Tea Estate: "Fantastic retreat in the mountains"
Having read the reviews, we were not looking forward to the road transfer from the airport up to Glenburn but it really wasn't too bad at all and definitely worth it. We were warmly greeted by Will & Faye and they continued to look after us very well during our 4 night stay. We enjoyed the communal meals and we met some very interesting guests. The location was perfect, amazing views and our room lovely. The food was good and every effort was made to accommodate special requests (we had scones and specially made Portuguese tarts) We did a couple of the escorted walks which we really enjoyed. We also took much advantage of the free laundry service! A faboulous property and we had a wonderful time.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "SUPERB"
"It is hard to know where to start with a review of this wonderful establishment. The Nepali food on offer was the best we had in Nepal. The staff and management are wonderful. Caring, kind and hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble. We had room 11 and were extremely happy there. Our comfort was paramount to every member of staff. We had the unfortunate experience of my husband becoming quite ill after our 8 day trek and whilst he was in hospital in Pokhara the compassion and concern of the management and staff towards both my husband’s recovery and my well-being was amazing. As well as organising medical care swiftly, they also drove me up and down the mountain daily at my request with never anything but a happy attitude. The management ensured I never felt alone whilst staying there and in fact I felt that I met some truly wonderful people. I can honestly say the experience at the Tiger Mountain Lodge was just like being with family- so comfortable. Thank you all so much - you are wonderful. "My solo trip to Bali was probably the best trip of my life (this says a lot coming from someone who travels to foreign countries quite often) My stay at Tugu is absolutely perfect. I couldn't have asked for better treatment from the staff, they always made me feel like they were looking after me in an unobtrusive sort of way. The facilities were authentic Balinese style, treatments at the spa were delightful. I highly recommend Tugu to anyone! You'll love their afternoon tea. Stayed April 2017, traveled solo"Muang La Resort: "Outstanding world class in Both of Laos"
"Stayed he with my wife on 6th and 7th December. What a joy! Fabulous welcome by the manager and his assistant. Setting on riverside is wonderful. Food truely outstanding. Dinner was five courses but not over heavy. Waiting staff delightful. The hot tubs are files from local high springs and are very relaxing. Massage was one of the best I have ever had too. W also to a day trek to waterfall and local villages which was most enjoyable and interesting. Thoroughly recommended"Samanea Beach Resort: "Good ratio Quality/Price"
I have liked the Quietness, the outside landscape of the hotel, the kindness of the Khmer staff. Cleanliness of room should be improved. Beach is not really bathing beach as sea water at the beach seems not to be appropriate for bathingRachamankha: "Pretty courtyard hotel"
"* Lovely property - stunning courtyards * Nice restaurant * Big pool * Efficient service - if a bit stand-offish - not a major critcism though * Good number of relaxed social areas Would recommend it as a good place to stay - Top end and a good experience"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Gem of a property – Truly peaceful"
"A magical, beautifully landscaped property with eco-architectural designs... Exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the Ylang Ylang tent for 4 nights. The tents are secluded, comfortable and very well decorated, each with its own private pool and stunning jungle views. We enjoyed the in-room massages. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The shuttle service into Ubud town was useful. The owners will be adding yoga facilities to Sandat in the near future. A truly perfect place to unwind. I looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!"MesaStila: "An amazing holiday"
"We live in Jakarta and were in desperate need of nature. We travel a lot, both for work and leisure and are quite picky with accommodation. For our holidays, we like to stay away from soulless big chains without having to compromise on comfort and quality. Mesa Stila did not disappoint: from start to finish, everything was perfect. The hotel itself and the grounds are magical, and the mountain views from the rooms are spectacular. Even the hotel's website doesn't do justice. Thanks to the activities, we never got bored during our 3 day stay and never got out of the hotel. We made full use of the facilities on site (spa, pool, restaurant, kid indoor playground) and of the complementary activities (yoga, jungle gym, coffee tour plantation). Considering the remote location of the hotel, we were very impressed by the level of professionalism and skill of the staff (I practice yoga twice a week, and my husband is very athletic and both instructors were really good). Unfortunately we didn't have time to try horseriding but the horses looked very well cared for and the man in charge told us he was an ex-jockey. Our visit happened during rainy season and although it rained most afternoons, we always found something to do (hanging out with our friends in the main house enjoying the complementary afternoon tea, taking turns going to the spa...). We found the hotel very kid friendly (traveling with 3 kids: 3, 1, and 6 months): indoor playroom, shallow kid pool, accommodating restaurant and good kids menu... A few packing tips: clothes for slightly cooler weather (the hotel is located 700m above sea level and it can get chilly in the evenings during rainny season), plastic flip flops in case you are visiting during rainy season"
